I stopped by this morning for a loaf of Cinnamon Bread, chose one and asked them to slice it. I was informed they did not slice cinnamon bread... they slice all the other bread! I ordered a ham and cheese breakfast croissant (it was 8:30 am). I waited 20 minutes while they continued to take orders from the counter and the drive thru. The prep staff seemed understaffed. When my sandwich came out it was a lunch combo with onions tomatoes and lettuce. I ordered a breakfast croissant. I didn't have time to wait while they corrected this. And the cinnamon bread was dismal, no wonder they wouldn't slice it... it's bread! Note the differences in the photos... terrible experience! read more

Just ordered from here via DoorDash. The salad was missing half the ingredients and they left out all the chips that were ordered with the sandwiches. When I called, the manager said it was DoorDash's responsibility and they wouldn't take any responsibility for the poor quality of food or missing items. No matter what time of day, what day, or how busy they are service is always excellent. I love coming to Kneaders. The hazelnut bread is probably my favorite because their are huge pieces of the nut in the bread. Pink pina colada is always on point and my all time favorite is the almond croissant. Moved here not too long ago and saw that it was closed because of the pandemic , but knew we would try it as soon as it opened back up. And we are so glad we did! This place is amazing!!! I got the Southwestern salad with the cilantro dressing. The chicken was tasty with the bbq sauce on it. Fresh avocado and fresh tomatoes as well. You get to pick the type of bread you want to go with it too. I love the multigrain with hazelnuts. And I made mine a combo, so I got a cup of soup AND a drink! I had the lobster bisque and it was a bunch of creamy deliciousness! Now about the reason why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5. We had decided to dine inside since there weren't that many people inside. When you first walk in, it's a very cute..homey...boutique looking bakery. Nice gifts and gorgeous treats. But the manager never greeted us (I guess she was too busy working out an issue) and so we stood there a while waiting to see what and where to order. Finally a really nice young man came and welcomed us and asked for our order. We sat down and waited, and waited, and waited. The young man came to our table to give us our drinks and said he would be back with our food. So we sat...and waited, and waited. I decided to go to the counter to check and see what had happened to our food. I saw our soup sitting on the counter/tray. And I saw the young man helping the drive up window person, who seemed to be having trouble with finding items. He turned and looked at me and was very apologetic about the wait and told me my food was RIGHT there and he'd be right over with it. So I sat back down and waited. As we waited, we noticed the manager walking out and leaving the place...just when all hell was breaking loose, she split. Well, good riddance...because she didn't seem to know what she was doing anyway! The young gentleman came to our table with food in tote! Finally! And it was sooo good! He apologized up and down and offered some treats for waiting so long. He had mentioned that he was fairly new. Good job buddy...you were having to pretty much do it all!! Had placed an order online, had issues with it. Had to call manager at other store. Had to put the order for the next day for it to take bit then called the store to let them know it's for today. Got to restaurant, they had not start the order an hour and enjoy minutes later. Waiting for the order going on 30 minutes. What the heck! They ain't that busy. It is a large order but still takes 2 hours for 10 sandwiches. The manager ended up refunding the whole amount which is why I changed the review from one star to three stars. read more

Poorly managed. Place is run by what seems to be teenagers more focused on trying to get off work and felt like I was a bother and inconvenience coming in at 7:45pm when they close at 9pm. Pros: Attractive sandwich and pastry options. Cons: Bland, uninspired food. Vegetarians: Look elsewhere for a veggie sandwich because you could do a better job at home with some gourmet bread. On a recent return from an out of town trip, we looked for a restaurant with healthy options on a cold, rainy day. What could be better than a soup and sandwich? Perhaps even grab a pastry on the way out the door. These are reasons that we decided to try Kneaders, a Utah chain new to San Antonio. Boy, were we disappointed. Though the service was friendly and helpful, the food was the culprit for the two-star rating. As mentioned earlier, we wanted soup. Sadly, they only had two options left which surprised me considering that it was dinner time (6pm). Further, neither of the two options were vegetarian, which deflated my wife's expectations. We ordered a veggie sandwich and a tuna sandwich. The veggie was basically romaine lettuce, tomato, and avocado on whole wheat bread with sour cream/mustard/mayonnaise spread. Aside from the gourmet bread, there was nothing that we couldn't have done better at home and saved the money. Ditto on the tuna sandwich. Bland and unmemorable. Considering the disappointment that was our dinner, we decided against trying their sweets and pastries, though they did look pretty. It is my opinion that this place might suffice as a spot to get a quick lunch. But with so many tastier options to choose from, why drop your cash here? read more

The food is unique and delicious! They offer fresh baked breads and upscale desserts. The staff is friendly and very approachable if something is wrong with your meal. Brunch is worth it if you could get there before 11 am! Try the sourdough pancakes, it comes with Dulce de Leche. read more

Ruined our Valentine's Day! Pre-ordered & paid for their special chocolate covered strawberries & the special truffles back on Feb 3rd. Husband went to pick up at our scheduled time & they had nothing for us! Employee didn't seem to care at all! Told my husband nothing he could do, nothing else available to replace the order with & said here's your refund. Asked for Manager's contact info & was just given the general number. Called the number and no answer, of course. Left a complaint on their app, but got an email from app stating that support site was only for issues with the app & my comment would be forwarded to the company. Been customers here since they opened. Noticed service had dropped off a bit lately, but assumed had to do with staffing issues due to all the Covid, so just let it slide. But this did it for us, we will no longer eat there, nor recommend it to anyone. read more

Kneaders is the newest Panera/Corner Bakery Cafe-type place in the Stone Oak area. Went on a Thursday around 7pm to check it out. Two orders: club sandwich + chips + pastry + drink, and Reuben panini + soup + drink. Club was good, fresh. Never had a club with onions on it before (surprise!) and I would definitely skip them if I go again. Reuben - as much as I love a good Reuben, this was not a good Reuben. All you could taste was sauerkraut! The meat was supposed to be pastrami but it didn't taste like pastrami and it looked like roast beef; however, it was cooked to the point it was dry and flaky, and very, very brown. I asked the girl at the counter, and she said it was "supposed to be pastrami." Ok,if you say so. Soup was broccoli cheese. It was ok, a regular broccoli cheese soup, nothing outstanding. It either has some sort of meat bits in the pot or somebody dropped some sandwich meat slivers in there by accident. Pastry was "the dome"- a yummy looking chocolate ball. The inside is a delicious mousse-type filling. The outside is a tasteless waxy chocolate (think Little Debbie chocolate exterior). More appealing to the eye than anything. Place wasn't busy but it was hard to find a clean table. As another reviewer mentioned, they take your name and then parade around the room. Our food stopped at 3 tables before it got to ours. Pros: close to home if you live in Stone Oak. Cons: Panera and Corner Bakery are better. read more

I went in this morning at 7:37am and purchased 8 pastries. I see 6 employees walking around not doing anything. I know I had 11minutes to observe. When I asked to speak to a manager the man told me he was the manager. I told him it took them 11minutes yo bag 8 pastries. He simply told me they were busy with other call in orders and the next time I wanted it to get my order faster I needed to call it in. Mind you I see his other employees not doing anything. They maybe had 2 customers inside and 1 in drive through. 11 minutes may not be much for people who have time and sit to eat there. But I was hoping to go in and out to get to work. And he said I only waited 7 minutes but as I walked out it was 7:48am. read more

Stopped here for the first time and what a pleasant treat it turned out to be. First, the staff were not only very nice but also very knowledgeable. Next the environment is well laid out and very clean. Last but not least the food was awesome. I had the veggie sandwich on focaccia bread with a side salad with poppy dressing and it was just what I needed after a long morning. On the way out I picked up a lemon poppy loaf for dessert and it was even better than I imagined. We will definitely be back for more! read more

I love Kneaders - I've been several times to different locations and this was my first time at this one. There weren't very many people in front of me in line, but for some reason it took so long to get to the counter. Then after I ordered my two desserts to go, it took about 15 minutes for the cashier to take them off the tray and heat them up in the microwave (I watched her). When she finally brought me the order, I checked it and she had messed it up. At this point I would have just taken it as a loss and left, but it was the dessert for my friend, so I had to wait another 5 or so minutes for her to go microwave the right one! I love this place! The all you can eat French toast for breakfast is one of the best breakfasts in town. It is made using chunky slices of their cinnamon bread and served with a warm, buttery syrup along with strawberries and whipped cream. Their breakfast croissants are as good as any I've had. While their lunch is good it is not really why I go there. Their pastries are delicious. My favorites are the cool, sweet, and creamy Napoleans and their key lime tarts. But don't stop there because there is so much to choose from. If you have a sweet tooth like I do, you really should try this place. I am astounded by some of the poor reviews on service. I've never witnessed even any sign of neglect or rudeness. In fact, I have pretty high standards for service and have been impressed, but I will say they have many different employees so I can't say those things did not occur. You may wait longer for your food than at the places where food sits under a heat lamp waiting for your order. I've not experienced a long wait, but I'd be willing to wait for their food. The food was delicious...had the turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich; bread was fresh as well as the ingredients. Their soup was tasty and hot...just like grandma would make. I should have gotten desert but was full from dinner...they looked amazing. They also sell fresh bread by the loaf and if I wasn't on a business trip I would have bought a loaf for home. The quality of their baked products is actually very good, and the employees working there are friendly and nice. The reason for only two stars is they have the capacity to have multiple registers open, but every time I stop by they only have one register open and I wait and wait and wait and wait to finally get to the register to order. I turned the customer waiting behind me and mentioned it and her reply was they are always understaffed and slow.
