Comparison of size of ham (so tiny) to other omlette ingredients
    Kanani C.

Can't go wrong with omlettes and pancakes! Love that I can order online and then swing by and pick up. However, i do wish there were a few stalls reserved for pick up because the lot is always packed. Did the pancake recipe change? They taste even better than I remember! Yummy! I always order the Koa omlette. Wish they incorporated the omlette ingredients into the egg but that's ok. (Their omlette is the folded style) This time I also tried the ham omlette. The reason for the 4 stars is because the ham was so tiny that it was really hard to actually eat. Not sure why all the other omlette ingredients were cut big/similar size, while the ham was tiny.

They have several locations on the island. We visited the Kaimuki neighborhood breakfast and brunch restaurant. Their menu is extensive with lots of delicious choices that come on paper plates and plastic utensils. Welcoming service tops off our experience. The restaurant is no frills, clean and bright. Bring a big appetite!

Came here strictly because of the name (our dog who recently passed was named Koa!) but the food was definitely solid! It seems like a pretty typical local breakfast joint, with multiple locations. This one has a parking lot in back too which is nice since the street parking is limited in Kaimuki. The food is simple but hearty, served on paper plates because they know their food is delicious enough to bring people back! Not to mention food comes out quickly so it's a nice sit down choice if you've got antsy kids. -Koa Moco: this was my favorite dish! It's a loco moco with the hamburger patty and corned beef. It's huge so it's a good one to share. The eggs were cooked perfectly and there was plenty of gravy. - Guava Lava Mochi Waffle: had high hopes for this one, I liked the guava sauce but the waffle itself was soggy and didn't seem chewy like mochi batter. I wish it had some crunch on the outside like butter mochi! - Banana Pancakes: couldn't come here without getting pancakes! They were good but not as much banana flavor as I'd like, you can probably skip on these. - Lite Bite: Only $7.50 and it was the perfect serving for our two toddlers to share! Nothing fancy here but just some good solid Hawaiian breakfast at an affordable price!

I forgot to take my food pictures,. I enjoyed the guava, lava mochi waffle! It was so good, I would have like more guava sauce but it was good. This is a little diner with some good food. As you come in you order then find a table. They bring the food you ordered to you. Fresh squeezed OJ was so good!!

It took us too long to discover this place! The fast service, affordable prices and food quality is perfect for us. It has a classic feel to it and everything we've gotten has been so yummy. I recommend getting a few things and splitting, the portions are generous!

You'll walk out smelling like food and oil but your stomach will be full and satisfied. Walked in and immediately ordered and got a table. Waited less than 10 minutes for my order. The service was quick. The food was delicious. I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture before digging in. The Vinha D'alhos Burrito is one of my favorites. If you like vinegar, you have to try this. The vinegar is not too overwhelming. It comes with salad and sour cream on the side. The burrito stays intact while eating it which is important. There's a paid parking lot or street parking. Cute shops to look at around the area if you're gonna look around after.

Best Hawaiian breakfast spot everrrr! The service is friendly and local, and the place is small, cozy, and a true hidden gem. I'll be back again and again ordering the same thing every time: over-easy eggs, fried rice (comes with Spam cubes), Portuguese sausage (total flavor bomb), and a side of veggies (stir fried in tasty fat)

Today I got to try the Spam, Eggs & Rice Plate with coffee and found it to be compatible to the Zippy's, good. Also, the service was very friendly and helpful.

I found a spot right in kaimuki near my doggies grooming! It's spacious and clean and they offer dine in service as well as take out. A nice selection in menu choices, but always enjoy the lite breakfast and can't go wrong for the price. Under $10 for 2 hotcakes, 3 bacon and 1 egg! What a deal! Food is good (except my hotcake was a little cold today) and service is great! Will be back!

I love having breakfast here and there's so many options! It's open seating so You can order at the counter to get a number then sit anywhere you like and put the number on the holders. OR you can sit down and order and pay from the QR code on each table. The staff is always friendly and they bring you your food when it's ready. There are condiments on the table to use and foil in the front of you want to take it home. I recommend the fresh orange juice!

Solid place for breakfast with large portion sizes. I got the entree plate with macadamia nut pancakes, meat and eggs, which were more than filling and pretty affordable for Honolulu.

What we ordered tag says over easy got scrambled.

Sad to write this review because I love Koa Pancake house in Waipahu and Aiea! Kaimuki is a definite NO GO- I been to this location a few times now and each visit there was an issue with my order. I can't understand why when they seem to have a team checking the food and putting it in the bag. How can you think it's ok to serve burnt food and not check if the order is right?? This will be my LAST visit because it ain't cheap to waste food. Potatoes and meat was no doubt burnt and tasted so gross totally not edible. I order 1egg Fried Rice Egg over easy as you can see in the order tag and got scrambled. The picture of my plate is almost gone because fried rice was good. But as we sat here and talked about all our experiences here - I got more disappointed and upset- because it's food and money WASTED! However have to shout out to a nice local older lady that is sweet that works there. She adds a smile to your day! She deserved a star

Our waitress, Alyssa (sp?), was terrific - friendly, energetic, and gave great recommendations. When Alyssa came to take our drink orders, I asked if the mai tai could be made on the sweeter said. She said it couldn't but gave me other recommendations when I asked for drinks that are on the sweeter side. One of those drinks was the meringue di cerdo, which is a drink version of lemon meringue pie (my fave!) and it was perfectly lemony and more on the sweeter side. My mom got an elderflower drink, which she said was just ok. I got the Cioppino and quinoa cakes. The cioppino had a rich seafood flavor that I haven't seen in other versions of the dish I've tried. It came with toast with romanesco sauce. The sauce had a kick without being overly spicy. The quinoa cakes had a similar taste and texture to falafel and were topped with avocado. They were delicious but a little bit on the heavy side. My mom got the beet salad and the cavatappi with sausage, both of which were specials. Though I didn't try the pasta, I did try some of the beet salad. Beets were cooked well. We loved the crispy shallots. We were full so no room for dessert! Only downside was the noise as we were first seated but it seemed to quiet down during our time at Fete. Would recommend/return!

He described everything with such care that it was hard not to order everything! I'd highly recommend a reservation as there was not an empty table the entire two hours we were there. The restaurant is on the smaller side so it can get quite loud but our table had great conversations and a overall lovely time. Appetizer: We ordered the konpachi hush puppies (apologies, they had a nicer name but this is how they were described to us) and they were delicious! I'm not a lover of fish, but these were so flavorful and the sauce paired perfectly with it. Drinks: I had the meringue di cedri to drink and it was akin to a lemon drop (10/10) it was sippable and lasted my whole meal. Husband had the Hana Koa Rice Breaker, which is one of his favorites as its smooth and pairs well with honestly anything. Entree: You will be missing out if you don't get the lemon risotto. I ordered it with the prosciutto and it may be one of the best meals I've had in Hawaii. The zucchini is done two ways in it: diced to be mixed in with the risotto and thinly sliced and grilled on top of the risotto. The panko crumbs on top really solidified the plate for me as top tier as risotto can get to be boring to eat after a few bites as they can lack texture, but not this risotto! Every bite was a journey and it was a very filling meal. My husband ordered the Korean steak and said it was better than some of the local steakhouses we had gone to. Our friend ordered the spaghetti carbonara and enjoyed it as well. Dessert: We were encouraged to try the Rocky Road ice cream and decided it was a must have when you visit. It was creamy, rich and delectable. We also opted to try the dessert special of the evening which was a Lilikoi cheesecake with a chocolate mousse. The cheesecake had a sour tang to it and the chocolate mousse partner with it to balance it out so it wasn't overly sweet. We loved it and I know in a few days we'll be craving this meal all over again!

Honey drizzle which wasn't too sweet...or maybe I just ate the parts that didn't have. Baby ate almost 1.5 pieces and even liked the Jalapeno Butter that I just dabbed on her bread. She said wasn't spicy but think she just didn't have enough. - Bone Marrow - lit it on fire to burn off the alcohol. Pretty sure it ddin't get it all so I cut baby off once I realized it. Other than needing some salt, really good. Choke mushrooms on top. One half was scrawny, but hubs had the other half for leftovers and choke marrow. YUM. - Sunchoke and Brussels - YUM. Realized when we ate it for leftovers it was all pretty oily and needed a pinch of salt. But otherwise great. Staff really nice and helpful. Love that the place is spread out and open. Bathrooms are not assigned which I'm sure can get gross, but is great to not have to wait for just the women's. The smoked octopus was sliced in pieces that were too thick and a little too chewy and the andouille sausage and black pepper overpowered the dish. Ordered the bourbon and bone marrow mostly for the presentation. It was WAAAY too rich and needed more bread to go with it. They should've served it with bread that wasn't buttered because the buttered bread even though tasty by itself was just too rich in combination with all of that bone marrow. The dish needed more balance. The ice cream sundae was unremarkable. Would have preferred it served with a choice of hot fudge or the caramel drizzle and since it was plain vanilla ice cream they could've drizzled a lot more caramel over it. The waitress did bring us more nuts when we asked, but they were busy at the time and she was the only server so it took her a while to get to us, and the ice cream was pretty melted by the time she delivered. We got there when they opened at 5 PM and they had two servers at that time. The place wasn't busy so it seemed like they had enough help for the amount of tables that were being seated. An hour and a half later, though, one server was missing (possibly taking a lunch break) and the only server remaining at several big parties to take care of which slowed down her responsiveness to the other smaller tables like ours. The music playing in the background seemed to fit the environment and was pleasant to listen to. It's a pretty casual atmosphere. The prices for what you get are a bit on the high end. Probably wouldn't go back unless someone else is paying. We didn't feel too bad this time because we had a gift certificate which covered most of our bill. Maybe we were choosing all the wrong items and should have just stuck to ordering meat dishes, which they might be better at making (with a name like Livestock). You'll have to check this place out yourself and see if they do a better job with meat and if the prices for those dishes are more reasonable. I gave this place four stars instead of three because the servers were friendly, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the food was mostly okay (tasty enough and filling).

When we moved to the counter, the heat from the kitchen was an issue. I don't know. It just seemed like we just needed to eat and jet. Our server was nice.

It was so sad this business is closing down by Oct 31st. With rising food costs, inflation and…read morestaffing, it's understandable but I wish best endeavors for Chef Jason Peel and his staff. My fiance won a gift card actually 2 of them (from his coworker whom could not get a reservation secured), we knew we had to make the trip over before they officially close. We had multiple dishes, but staff made Kauai prawns and tomato miso black cod dishes on the house since they ran out the Hokkaido scallops. We ordered the short ribs, lobster appetizer, hamachi crudo and lastly sashimi moriawase to finish food palate. Lukki lemon dessert was great way to end to night. Ordered the Milk tea bouquet cocktail while my better half had water ( either way the food coma knock him out cold the rest of the night lol). To be honest, it was difficult to determine which dish was the best because the staff kept quality there despite it being busy every night since they announce the closure. Sashimi moriawase, fish was so fresh, reminded me of my time spent in Hokkaido and Sapporo. Short ribs was soft and rich in flavor. Both me and my fiance liked the lukki lemon dessert, like lemon meringue pie but broken down version. If you have a chance to dine here before closing and got a reservation, definitely will have a lovely dining experience and your stomach will be full by end of the night.

The staff were friendly and very helpful with giving us recommendations. We ordered 3 appetizers and 2 entrees, and honestly it was too much food for us. We had leftovers for breakfast the next day! - For appetizers we got: Ulu Tots, Japanese Eggplant, and Corn Beignets. The Corn Beignets was the best. - For entree we got: Tomato Miso Black Cod and the Short Rib. Both were delicious and worth a try. Sad to see that this restaurant appears to be closing.
