    Happy hour stop while shopping.

This establishment is becoming my go to for happy hour. They have happy hours every day at different hours but my day will be Wednesday. Today I tried everything different. Normally I'll get a burger and beer but today I had their chicken fried rice and chicken satay with a drink called yellow card. Everything was great. Better yet they validate parking after you eat. Just make sure you go straight to your car as it's only good for 15 minutes.

We came here to check out some shops in the mall. It just so happened to be happy hour. They have a burger and fries for $6 which was delicious! we also ordered a bunch of other items to share amongst our group of 4. Service was excellent and we got seated right away for a holiday weekend as well as a soccer match on. I gave it 4 stars because the restroom could use some attention. It was only 2:30pm and it was quite a mess. If it wasn't happy hour then it would be a pretty pricey restaurant so definitely plan on going during happy hour.

Came in for my husbands birthday! Always a good call to sit at the bar as I notice the service can be a bit slower at a table. Took a while for anyone at the front to get to us and others waiting to be seated so we decided on the bar. Douglas was great! Match day menu was great, we got a lot off the menu including the Kona burger, spicy tuna roll, chicken potstickers, and waygu fried rice. It really is a great vibe and it was a great visit today.

I wanted to have dinner elsewhere tonight (kitchen was closed). Thank goodness Kona opened late, + had late night happy hour going on. Korbin (blue hair) was AMAZING!!! Do yourself a favor and ask for him. He went above and beyond. Korbin literally raised the bar. Great personality really cool person. If I'm ever visiting Denver. I'll make a trip for good for and good service. He was very attentive, he was Mr. make it happen!!! I'm in town celebrating my birthday. He made sure I got my birthday dessert + during the time I went was the best (late night happy hour). I may just pop in for another happy hour before I leave town!

Shout out to the vibes, if it's a birthday or your getting shots for your group, they bring it out with the music, vibes, & sparklers! The salads were amazing, steak and sushi were okay. Pasta was good. Thanks Tommy for taking care of our group! Great service, super attentive and accommodating!

Was really very excited to go celebrate Galentines at this place, after my good experience at happy hour... But today it was really not good! I choose this.... Seeing the menu But everything we ordered was full of salt From spicy sauce to peanut sauce served with Asian salad Miso soup was super salty ,I did finish half of mine.... Being vegetarian I ordered Kona stir fry(attracted to this Hawaiian name) But it was super salty with chicken chunks in it It was replaced later with tofu ,but again the tofu was super salty....and the appetite disappeared The bathroom was with broken dispenser & No paper towel.... The good part was the chocolate cake in the desert section , which was served warm.... But don't think will return there or recommend anyone Service was ok!

Manager bailing on his staff Change

Curly-haired female bartender upon us coming in was absolutely holding down the fort, and after chatting with her, she let us know that a patron had just started screaming at her and cussing her out. I asked where her manager was because he should be talking to the guests, not her. I was shocked when she said this was because they could not take cards, only cash. She said she hadn't seen her manager in 20 minutes, and it was visible that she had to run the floor. I saw a younger female server crying and many parties walking out. We continually asked for the manager, and she said she literally could not find him as guests were audibly yelling at the staff. We saw him on our way out, pacing the mall far away from the restaurant outside, leaving his FOH team to explain to every guest that they could not take cards. This is the most unacceptable thing I've ever seen a manager do: not run their floor. Ridiculous experience. The bartender should be in that position since she was being patient with all of the servers who were freaking out and going up to the tables herself because the GENERAL MANAGER on 6/13 bailed on his staff.

Came here with a group of friends for their HH tasting menu. Kona has been a staple in the Denver area for us millenials who grew up here. I remember the days where we would come almost every weekend before hitting the bars downtown. I haven't been back in a very, very long time,so I was happy to meet up with some friends here. We pretty much ordered everything on the tasting menu so everyone could try a bite of every dish. The steaks were not bad, but I'd prefer the pasta and sushi over those entrees. The house field salad and the chopped salad had more variety over the Asian salad. One of my friends raves about the carrot cake here and the manager even said some guests order it for their wedding cake! So I'd highly recommend ordering that. The brownies were good, but quite sweet, and same for the chocolate cake. Cheese cake was not bad. Overall a great experience to try out their new tasting menu and a great place to meet up with a group. The service was quick and attentive. I also like that you can pay at the table and split the tab as you wish.

The $39.99 "Taste of Kona" menu is delicious and priced right! It's going on right now! Head over for better yet, run! It'll cost you less than a pair of designer jeans at $39/pp is ridiculously priced! You can have a 3 course meal , 2 drinks , a starter and to end the note right a desert. All these you have a choice of three's. See menu attached. We had everything in the menu + a serving of my favorite dessert that's not included in the menu. Their massively delicious Carrot Cake!! Courtesy of Rose the GM! Talk about being treated well! Thank you Rose! There were four of us so someone had a repeat of someone's dish. But we shared so I know the dishes are all awesome! The salad I had called The Chopped -small was so good! My cocktail Patio Bubbles was super refreshing! The staff were awesome n you can pick your dining location: inside or patio.

Tender Steak I had the New York strip, and it was so tender. Very tasty! For my drink, I had the Cucumber Southside, made with Tito's vodka, lime, mint leaves, soda, and (surprise) cucumber. For dessert, I enjoyed the chocolate cake. Oh my! It's like a brownie and cake made out...in a good way!!

I used to frequent this location often, but somehow stopped coming--and now I remember why. With Christmas approaching, the mall was extremely busy, and there weren't many restaurants offering full table service. There was a short wait, but we were seated fairly quickly. Our server came by promptly, and we were able to place our order without any issues. The main problem was the drinks. My Kona Big Wave took quite a while to arrive and didn't show up until right before the food was served, which isn't ideal. Worse, the beer was flat. For a restaurant of this caliber, I expect better, especially when it comes to drinks. On the positive side, the food was good. The sea bass slider, served on warm Hawaiian bread, was enjoyable, and the Kona stir-fry was tasty as well. The ambiance is still nice, and overall service was good--definitely better than average. That said, the prices are quite high for the portion sizes. We spent over $60 plus tip, which felt steep for what we received. It was nice to revisit, but unless I'm desperate, I probably won't be stopping here again.

My experience with Kona Grill this time around was not good. When we sat down, everything came quick enough and I was excited that we had the ability to reserve a table for six at 7 o'clock on a Saturday. It was just a really good timing and we had just finished shopping. I had been to Kona Grill so many times before and I always had a wonderful time and service was always great so I was hoping we'd have a similar experience this time. At the start, I kind of sensed that this was going to be not the best service. Our water glasses were all a little dirty. But only one glass was sent back at first. And another one was requested. As this happened one person in our party presented a free appetizer coupon to our server. She ordered the wings and the server said he had to check that we could order those. She didn't like being told that there were stipulations on the type of appetizer she could order when that wasn't indicated on her free appetizer coupon. One of us ordered a Paloma. The drink was sent back because it was too weak. It was diluted to fill to the top and we could not taste much alcohol in it. So a replacement drink was ordered. That one was pretty good. So now this set the tone for the rest of the time we were there and I won't bother getting into some of the other things, but let's just say that the wings came out in the wings were great right. So everybody finishes the wings. Then I ask "hey do you guys have wipes for us because you know our fingers are sticky after eating those wings" and he's like "oh sorry we don't have wipes, but I can get you extra napkins" and I'm like "thanks". So now he clears all the monkey plates except mine cause I was getting the last wing. We place our main courses order. Four of us were splitting two dishes, the wagyu steak fried rice and macadamia chicken. The wagyu steak was very greasy and it pooled at the bottom of the plate. It also lacked flavor. I was praying for salt but we used soy sauce instead since salt shakers were not present. This made it better but still not great. The macadamia nut chicken was tasty but one person didn't like the sauce on the chicken. I thought it was solid. One person ordered a sushi roll to see how they liked sushi. He didn't love it but said it tasted the way it should. The last person enjoyed his food. But on the iceberg salad he had to request more bacon because there was so little on it. At this point I was getting annoyed because it was taking too long for him to grab another plate. My water was never refilled. But on the other side of the table their water was constantly refilled. My monkey dish from the first course was still sitting there after all of the other dishes had been removed. All in all it came off as lazy serving to me. I get that I'm a little further back but come on. Because I've been here so many times I'm able to count this as a one off. But sheesh. Nothing went right. I guess the host stand went efficiently. And it's a beautiful restaurant.

Service is good, service was very nice guy and food was very quick, as far as the test pat tai noodle wasn't good at all, steak neither but if you take a consideration that it's not a steakhouse I guess can't really judge it, shrimp tacos were actually good but super spice, and so edamame, place is nice, clean, a little darker but welcome.

Ask the Community - Kona Grill - Denver

    How's the prime rib?

Very tasty, my mother ordered it. It was tender and cooked to perfection however the steak is very thin and the portion is tiny for $40.

Do They Still Offer Happy Hour All Day on Sunday?

No :( Looks like they got rid if it, sadly!

Does Kona validate parking for the Cherry Creek mall?

They do, but not for Happy Hour food, you need to purchase a full-price entree and/or Kona Roll. Also, they don't validate for valet.

This was my first Culinary Dropout experience which was on a date night and dinner outing. There was ~45 minute wait for a table as it was "dinner rush hour" before the weekend. We were seated in the bar area at a high top so we were very close to live music performer! So that was an enjoyable portion of the experience! The interior was dimly lit, loud and lively, and offered a rustic but modern feel. Based on this experience, food was overpriced and mediocre. We tried the fish and chips ($23) and fried chicken ($26). We were disappointed the fish and chips were not served with fresh lemon to "baptize" the fried fish. Fries were limp and didn't seem fresh. Also thought the fried fish should have had a crispier crust. The fried chicken was good flavor and texture on fried crust but the white meat was very dry. Mashed potatoes and gravy were lukewarm and not served hot. Also I tried to season the mashed potatoes but the pepper grinder at the table was completely empty. Biscuit was dry, overcooked, and lacked butter. Probably will opt for other options next date night.

The rotisserie chicken was delicious and a great portion size definitely enough to fill me up. The apricot glaze was a really nice addition, and overall the chicken was top-notch. It comes with the warm kale panzanella. The kale itself was solid, but I wasn't particularly blown away by the croutons/panzanella portion of the dish. Still, the chicken more than made up for it. The French dip, though, was INCREDIBLE. Hillstone absolutely knocked this one out of the park. The beef was fantastic, and the whole sandwich just worked. I would highly recommend this to anyone coming here, definitely one of the standout dishes we've had. We substituted the French dip's usual side for the creamed corn, which was classic, comforting, and very yummy. A great side choice. And, as always, the cocktails were stellar. While the host was friendly and the waitstaff was helpful, several aspects of our meal were disappointing given the strict dining guidelines and supposedly high-endish experience claimed by this restaurant. Our experience with the food was inconsistent: - Appetizers: Since the grilled artichokes were unavailable, we ordered the artichoke and spinach dip. While the dip was flavorful, the tortilla chips were a letdown; we felt toast points or focaccia would have been a better accompaniment. - Entrees: The California burger and French Dip were good, though grilling the roll for the French Dip would have improved the texture. The Emerald Kale Chicken Salad was only average, as the chicken was quite fatty. - Sushi: The Coconut Shrimp Roll was the most significant disappointment. It lacked flavor and left an unpleasant taste that even wasabi could not mask, resulting in most of it going to waste. - Sides: The french fries were excellent and the highlight of our meal. Crunchy and perfectly salted. Overall, considering the expectations set by the dining policies, the experience was underwhelming and we do not plan to return.

My friend also ordered the salad with the candied walnuts, and when it came out, it had barely any toppings. She almost was too shy to say something, but I spoke up for her and the kitchen remade her salad with no issue, luckily, it was much better the second time around Our server was super sweet and attentive. I don't think we got a name though. Thank you for a nice time!

We were seated by the hostess who got waters for us and then had a very friendly waitress. She was very attentive as well. We started with the dip duo and grilled artichokes. The chips that came with the dips were great and dips super flavorful and very different so it was nice to have the contrast. The artichokes were grilled deliciously. I loved the charred taste. I ordered the salmon dish. I really enjoyed the salmon and my broccoli. The mashed potatoes were not my things. Lots of leeks/onions in it. We did get a side of fries instead and those were great - they tasted just like McDonald's! I can see why this restaurant is popular. Good food and great service!

‼ DON'T EVER ORDER FOOD TO GO FROM HERE!!! ‼…read more I honestly cannot believe a restaurant at this price point thinks this is acceptable. I spent over $50 on a to go order and it came with no napkins, no salad dressing, and no utensils. When I politely asked for a plastic fork because I was staying at a hotel, the employee, Sherry, repeatedly told me, "We don't provide that," and then kept saying, "I don't know what to tell you," instead of offering any kind of solution. The dismissive attitude was honestly worse than the missing items. Then I got back to my hotel and realized Sherry had handed me someone else's order. So after all of that, I didn't even have my own food. I ended up giving the meal to a homeless person and drove to Taco Bell instead. If your restaurant doesn't provide basic utensils or napkins with a takeout order, why are you even offering takeout? Even fast food restaurants understand that people ordering food to go might actually need a fork to eat it. This wasn't just about a missing fork. It was the complete lack of attention to detail, basic customer service, and then being handed the wrong order on top of it. For over $50, this was an unbelievably bad takeout experience. Save yourself the frustration and order somewhere else.

I went to bed thinking about my meal here and woke up thinking about the review I was going to…read moreleave. I feel like everyone and their mother has been here - and for good reason. Starting with my favorite and the absolute knockout: The Dry-Aged Bistecca Agnolotti. Think of a ravioli pouch, but smaller and better, filled with meat, sitting in a bed of the most perfectly browned brown butter with thick parmesan shaves on top. You think it's over, and then your server comes and pours a sweet yet vinegary reduction on top. I'm actively eating it for breakfast as I write this. Insane. Will be thinking about this for a few days. The others in the group got the Spicy Lobster Rigatoni Alla Vodka, which is one of their most popular dishes. It was good (we swapped bites), but mine was better. For the table we split a Caesar (which I do wish had more dressing, but I love a dressing so that could just be me), filet mignon meatballs (4 in an order which was perfect for our group of 4), and the tuna and avocado carpaccio. Favorites were the meat and fish. We used the bread to sop up the meat sauce at the end. Lastly, the Chicken Parm Pizza was ordered for the table. Basically, the "crust" of the pizza is chicken parm. I think it's a little expensive for what it was, but I'm glad I got to try it with a bigger group. Can't imagine reordering it, solely for the size and cost, but it was a unique food experience. Drinks at the table included a Barbera, a Chardonnay, a Sangria, and a Spritz. All good. Overall, service was great, restaurant is beautiful, dishware is pretty, and vibes are sophisticated yet unpretentious. You will be walking 40 days and 40 nights to the bathroom though, which is outside the restaurant, through the hotel, down the stairs, and through the hallway. Can't wait to return!!!
