My husband and I had dinner here last night. This is the place to go if you want a very pleasant, peaceful evening. The atmosphere is just that. Soft piano music in the background, fresh flowers and plants all around, nice lighting. The staff is very attentive without being obtrusive, they answered all of our questions about the food. My husband had the roasted duck special, he said it was the best duck he ever had, it was so moist and tender inside and the skin was super crispy, the portion was generous with both the breast meat and the leg. It was served with little pillow rolls and julienne of scallions and cucumbers with a fabulous sauce, you could make your own little sandwiches. Delicious! My entrée was Sesame Chicken and chicken lo mien. The Sesame chicken was in large, moist chunks, perfectly cooked with a great sweet sour sauce. The lo mien was wonderful as well with lots of tender moist chicken and a wonderful sauce as well. All in all, this was a great experience for us. We will return again and again I'm sure. read more

We are not even hungry but our kids wants to try this place. Skeptic at first that this will be the same chinese resto "taste the same" (stereo typing). Well guess what ??? It not!!! This used to be Sesame China Bistro, a Chinese restaurant that also had crepes. Now its name is Kung Fu Restaurant. The crepes are gone. There is a new Chinese chef. The food is fantastic. Love this place, and we'll be going back again soon. read more

It seemed as if this place was successful at one point. I ordered the general tsos chicken and it looked nothing like pictures on Yelp from years ago. The chicken pieces were huge and perfectly circular like meatballs and were so incredibly tough. The flavor was ok but literally impossible to eat and chew. My friend ordered the sweet and sour chicken and they were the same giant meatball looking chunks of chicken that were like rubber. Pretty disappointed. I like using chopsticks when going to an Asian restaurant but this was impossible with how big these pieces were. Was hoping to get what I saw in pictures from the past. I've never seen general tso chicken that looked like giant meatballs. The pot stickers seemed homemade but the dipping sauce was just waaay too salty and not good at all. Tasted like soy sauce with more salt than usual. I was looking forward to this place from other reviews but I don't think I'll be coming back. A shame because the staff was very friendly. The food runner seemed to know more about the the food than our server. Our server was the host and seemed disconnected with our table as she was just working the front desk doing to-go orders. Not that we needed much but just not a good idea to have your main server be the host/to-go and also your server. I wouldn't even care about this detail though if the food was spot on. read more

TERRIBLE!!!! If I could give ZERO stars I would. Tried for the first time with my daughter last Thursday evening around 5pm.... first customers in, and took 30 minutes to get pot stickers... when we waited another 20 minutes and our meals still hadn't arrived we paid our bill and left...... In the time we that we were there; One couple came in to dine in, One couple came in to order takeout, And a group of 6-7 came in to sit in the back room towards the end of our own debacle. What a mess..... the couple that ordered takeout ordered and came back about 30 minutes later (as instructed) and their food was still not done.... Amazing restaurant with amazing food. I've never been dissatisfied with the service or any of the meals that I've been served here. My wife and I came in today and got the special which included the shrimp with garlic sauce. The shrimp was so much better then the kind I have had at other restaurants; it was fresh, not just frozen and preheated like many places will give you. You could tase the quality and it is something we'll definitely get again. This quality is common throughout all of the food here. As well the great food, we find the servers incredibly kind and always very helpful, willing to find out descriptions of any food or drink you ask for and very helpful with recommendations. I love coming to Kung Fu and would recommend it to anyone who wanted a great dining experience. read more

So disappointed. Had take out and was so disappointed. The food was awful. This is not the same Kung Fu of two years ago. Not sure if they changed owners. The chicken in the Generals tso's was like Chinese chicken nuggets! Just processed chicken. My pad Thai was just rice noodles saturated in mediocre peanut sauce. The little chicken that was in there was strips of the same processed meat. Pork dumplings were way too salty and just ok. Time to find a new Chinese restaurant. Will not be back!! read more

Really good and authentic Chinese food, a great addition to Doylestown. Very nice staff and fast service, but come for the food! They have the old standard set of general tso and sweet and sour, but also a fine range of Chinese food as eaten in China. Try the hot pots, duck, cumin lamb. They do Cantonese well but manage other regions well too. Note that this is not the old Seasame bistro as some of the older reviews mentioned, same location but totally different restaurant. This gives dtown two authentic Chinese places, Mei Ting and Kung Fu. Wonderful! read more

We went as part of a large 9 person party. Service was great. All of our food came pretty much together (starters and entrees respectively). Appetizers were excellent. Spring Rolls were on the small side, but crispy and light (not soggy and heavy). Dumplings were excellent. My entree, "The General" was very good. If you prefer spicy food be sure to ask them to make it extra spicy. Overall there was a nice, helpful vibe. I'm sure we'll go again. read more

We arrived for restaurant week, called ahead of time to confirm that they were participating in the $25 menu, checked multiple times online at said menu, and were meted with confusion at the restaurant despite the restaurant week advertisements in the door and each table. Additionally, our server was clearly in the dark and the owner would only speak to her, not to us directly, to explain. Picky picky eater here. As background, my mother-in-law lived near Beijing for several years. She taught me to make some of her family's favorite dishes. So, we appreciate good Chinese cooking. Up until now, all the Chinese restaurants in Bucks county have been terrible and not worthy of a second visit. Sesame China Bistro is 3 minutes from our home. We have eaten there three times in 4 weeks. It's a miracle. Normally, we prefer Northern style Chinese cuisine versus Cantonese. This is the first time we have had good Cantonese! The menu is fairly conservative, but we have tried 8 different dishes and all were good. They even made a baby bok Choy dish for us that was not on the menu (they keep this vegetable on hand for their staff's meals). The dish was delicious. All of the dishes we have tried had generous portions, with ingredients lightly coated in tasty sauces and not swimming in oil. The chicken and beef was tender and plentiful. We look forward to this bistro becoming established so they will be able to add creative specials to tantalize our taste buds. It is important to note the owner, Tommy, understands the importance of providing high quality ingredients and we can taste the difference in his offerings versus the other Bucks county Chinese restaurants. Also a note about the attractive environment. There are plenty of tables with good lighting and table linens (chopsticks and western cutlery, too). Went to this place tonight with high expectations - and it might be those expectations that led to my disappointment. This kinda feels like someone's first attempt at a restaurant... and if that's the case then they are off to a decent start. But there are just some things that seem obvious for a Chinese restaurant that were missing ... like having soy sauce on the table, or like allowing for fried rice instead of white rice with an entree. I am always suspicious of restaurants in locations that have repeatedly failed or changed; I believe the saying is "Location, Location, Location"... but what could be so bad about a location on the the main drag in Doylestown? So for last nights visit to Kung Fu our first, we were curious about the latest iteration of this space. For a Saturday evening, it was surprisingly empty, we were seated immediately, and our server was quite friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu which seemed relatively limited for a Chinese restaurant. We opened with the fried / steamed dumplings, it seems these are steamed to order, and then briefly deep fried ( you can get them steamed only) - these were incredibly fresh and tasty, the type I have only had in a major cities Chinatown type area. The menu had added ( with a sticker in the middle) both Mongolian and Szechuan beef - we asked about the difference, as usual regional take out places tend to have blanded these out so much they are barely distinguishable. The Server did his best to describe the difference and my son and I ordered one each - and for each the beef was tender, moist and perfectly cooked, and the flavors were distinct as promised. Of the two - the Szechuan our favorite, with considerable Szechuan pepper corns leaving the mouth with a good fire, it is different than the Chili Pepper type heat we are all used to. Wife's Triple Fresh Pepper Chicken (Jalapeno Pepper type) - was also top notch, the chicken was tender and not over cooked, and not breaded and fried, or in a sauce as we get used to from average Chinese, these are "dry" but in a good sense. All 4 plates were well presented, served promptly. The dining area is comfortable, simple and contemporary. Good for families ( a few Kids Menu items) but also nice enough for out-of-towners. IMO Doylestown needs this enterprise to survive and thrive, so give it a try and you may find a new goto Chinese. read more

The is hands down the best Chinese food in or around Doylestown. They have great quality ingredients and most importantly for me, tastes just as good by the time you get home as it would if they severed it to you at the table. The staff is very friendly and helpful and secret tip: they have bubble tea! It may be a tad more pricey than the other Chinese places around but it is well worth it. read more

The wonton soup is not your traditional - if that's what your expecting. Small container only ($4.95). Thin wontons with very little pork.
