I couldn't be more excited then to be able and write this review. Just outside of China Town, and on the far end of Little Italy, lies one of the best Italian dessert shops you'll ever find. All of the staff here was very friendly and amazing. I originally came just to have some gellato and turned into almost a tasting menu. First time around I had their tutifruti and raspberry gellato. Both delicious, however, what really caught my eye was their lobster tale pastry. The pastry was nice and crispy although you would think it was soft like a crossisant. Lightly powered with sugar, and filled every inch with a delicious cream filling. One of the most unique desserts I ever had, and super filling. I had to come back again for more Gelato, and had their pistachio, rum raisin, and nochaxcola. May have butchered the spelling but sue me. Rum Raisin was magical. So good both times it was sold out but a few scoops. Such a great profile and absolutely amazing. Second favorite was the nochacola. Velvety vanilla and hazelnut Gelato, which was also so delicious and decadent. If you like Italian desserts it's hard for me to think of a better place in the city. read more

Amazing experience from start to finish at this famous Little Italy shop. The 2 women working here were fantastic. Such wonderful personalities and so friendly. We ordered a variety of cookies and Italian treats and gelato. Everything was delicious. It's a small place with 1 or 2 tables as I recall. So quaint. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I'm gonna just say it : I think this place is tourist bait. And this review is for my visit in 2024. I came here based on the yelp reviews and thought it would be a hidden gem. The place, and I mean this in all due respect and I also believe one doesn't have to grow up with a specific ethnicity to perfect their food, is seemingly owned by East Asians. Not that there's anything wrong with that but it's far from an old school Italian mom And pop bakery. my out of towner sister and I got 6 premade mini cannoli. It came 26 dollars. The filling was nothing great and since it was prefilled the shell was mushy. It's not worth that price bc if you want prefilled cannoli you will save a lot of money and go to Whole Foods or another supermarket bakery. read more

Came here to get cannolis for my family while on a trip. I got myself something, honestly dont remember the name, but its a coffee like desert thats super creamy and my girlfriend got a strawberry shortcake desert that she loved. The woman who helped us was super nice and patient with us as we decided on which cannolis to get for my family and the extra sweets for us to have right away. She packed everything nicely for us. It survived the trip! The place is small and smack down at the entrance of little italy but we went during a weekday in the afternoon and it was chill. They have outside seating and inside seating. Such a gem of a place in little Italy. If you're looking for a good Italian pastry, this is your spot. It's small and quaint, but they have almost every Italian cookie and pastry you can think of. The worker behind the counter was really helpful answering my questions on all the different cookie options. Ordered the chocolate cannoli, sprinkle cookies, chocolate and vanilla hazelnut biscotti's and Italian flag cookies. The best was the cannoli, the filling wasn't too sweet but so creamy. The sprinkle and Italian flag cookies were fantastic the next day with my morning coffee. Least favorite were the biscotti's. Stopped into this little walk-up Italian bakery after a dinner nearby to grab a coffee and dessert. They had a decent selection of standard Italian pastries and a lot of cannoli options/flavors that I've never seen before. Great service/staff- very friendly. I had a decaf espresso which was great. Also tried the gluten free cannoli - crunchier texture than a normal cannoli but we liked it! Not a ton of seating but grabbed a few seats in the front of the space and enjoyed our cannolis. read more

La Bella Ferrara is still my favorite bakery in Little Italy. Today I saw big changes in the inside. They have a fancy coffee section now and an Ice cream counter. They make their own ice cream I was told. I was disappointed when I saw there's no seating outside. I wanted to sit down to eat my cannoli. The manager knows me and said she would get me a chair and did I want to sit inside or outside. I decided outside was beautiful. Plus I was away from the tempting display cases. I asked if she wanted me to let her know when I was done so she could remove the chair and she said yes. She said the seating had to be removed because families would buy a coffee and then sit there with their children for hours! Some people always ruin a good thing. Friendly and patient staff. We had lots of questions. Yes - the 3 layer cookies are made in house (excellent by the way) and no - they don't have espresso con panna. Chocolate chip gelato was great. An hour earlier my son threw away 3/4 of his Harry Potter butterbeer ice cream but he devoured the gelato!! Having lived in the neighborhood for four years, this is by far the best pastry shop in little Italy and the only one that I go to. Small hole in the wall bakery. The set up is simple (I heard they just remodeled). There is a small seating area inside, and a couple of tables outside. The cannolis are amazing! We were searching for a snack on Christmas Day as we drove around NYC. We found this small gem open and I ran in for a couple of Italian treats ... sfogliatella! My mother was from Naples so I grew up loving these crispy treats. Their take was fresh with a flavorful filling that had a refreshing hint of orange zest. I also got two cheese danish for the ride home. The woman taking my order guessed I would eat the bun in the car so she heated it up and added a couple of napkins too! I have always been a loyal fan of La Bella Ferrara, visiting every time I'm in Little Italy or during the festival with friends. Unfortunately, I had a troubling experience today. After purchasing four cannolis for $10 and paying with a $20 bill, there seemed to be a mix-up, as no one recalled taking my $20. When I inquired about my change, I was offered four more cannolis instead of a refund, which I declined. This led to a confrontation with a lady who called me a "bitch" and told me to leave the stand. I recorded the incident. When I went inside the store for assistance, I was informed they couldn't help, as the woman outside managed the stand. I felt pushed out and unheard. She then laughed when I was told there's nothing anyone could do for me. I'd like to speak to the owner or a real management because this is unacceptable. read more

Every time I go to New York this is the must stop by and get the famous Rainbow Cookies that are so perfectly made as well as all there other bakery goods and the service is amazing and my sister and I have been coming here for decades and it never skips a beat.
