Excellent service ! Pizza was really really good! The top their pizzas off with tons of your choice toppings. No shortage with that. Really nice place with a balcony that over looks the street. Overall a dang good pace to snag a pie and a few beers!

Interesting place, kind of small, I chose to do take out, but I did notice there was a second dining area on the roof with a balcony. Honestly I wasn't really that hungry when I walked in, but when I opened the door, I immediately smelled the pizza cooking in the back and already my mouth started watering. They have a sort of small menu with a sort of bland atmosphere, but they do have pretty decent staff. I called in my order before hand, and within five or ten minutes, the food was ready. (Of course, the place was empty at the time, so they weren't busy) This place was actually recommended to my by my friends and I'm glad they did! This was one of the best pizzas I have ever had!

Disappointing!!! Recommended by many... but when I went, I was not impressed. I ordered a few hours ahead, and showed up just before. My order wasn't ready, but didn't wait long. The staff was a little bit odd. The kids in the back were all goofing around. I got a medium Chicken Garlic pizza and an order of garlic toast. Garlic toast- no flavor, surely forgot the garlic! Just cheese. And not even hot when I got it. Asked for marinara to dip- eh. Pizza - tasted like mayo for sauce. Only had chicken and cheese. onions tossed on the top. I'll bet they forgot to put the onions on before they cooked it, so they threw them on after. They were raw! And over powered the rest of the pizza, which was flavorless without them. Had hoped for something amazing. :/

Last week I stumbled upon La Prima because the girl at the front desk of El Bonita recommended it to me. They were one of only a few places open late in town, so I went in and enjoyed a glass of red while my pizza was being made. Because it was near closing, they were only offering pizza but I had my eye on the Big Family Salad. The extremely nice young man said he could go ahead and make it for me. Yay! We got to talking and I found out his name was Ernie, the son of the owners. He was so friendly and professional. It was very clear that he was proud of his work and really cared about the restaurant. I enjoyed talking to Ernie about Yelp and the restaurant biz. Anyway, when I got back to my motel room with the pizza - a combo with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions and bell peppers - and salad, I was very pleasantly surprised. This was by far the best pizza I've ever had!! The crust was perfect: crispy but not too thin. It was cooked perfectly. And then the salad! Fresh iceberg lettuce, fresh tomatoes, beets, and a huge mound of cheddar cheese and perhaps the best Ranch dressing (aside from my homemade) that I've ever had! I wanted to drink it! The portion of the salad and dressing was very generous! My salad and pizza that night was my dinner then my lunch and dinner the next day. With my glass of wine, 2 Sprites, a large salad & large pizza, my bill was $50 before tip. I fully intended to return before leaving St Helena 5 days later. Well, on our last night in Napa, we just had to get that pizza one last time. This time, Ernie my young new friend, was not in, but his dad Aldo was. Not as chatty as his son, but very nice and efficient. This time we got a veggie pizza with white and green onions, mushrooms & black olives. A medium pizza cost only $22 before tip. I'm not kidding when I say that I would literally drive back to St. Helena from San Rafael just for their Big Family Salad and that excellent pizza! See you soon, Ernie! You are a gem and your parents must be proud of you!

This is one of the better pizzas I've had in a long time. This place has many bad reviews but I definitely had no issues. They did indicate they didn't have delivery currently for various reasons but they were quick, friendly and the pizza was great.

They gave us a cracker pizza that was burnt. No enjoyment one bite out of the slice .

It was a cracker of a pizza. Burnt and one bite out of the slice the rest was the cracker no enjoyment.

The service is attentive and friendly and there's a generally welcoming vibe when you walk through the door. The menu has a good variety that includes pasta and pizza dishes as well as some delicious antipasti / appetizers. I would love to come back and try more items on the menu, but I came here with my parents and we actually ate not too long prior to visiting. A few days before visiting the area, my brother showed me a video of how they make fresh mozzarella in house and I really, really wanted to try it. In addition to the fresh mozzarella dish, I got a glass of wine and we ordered some calamari. Watching them, serve the fresh mozzarella at the table with such a delight. The mozzarella dish and the calamari were both delicious. This area seems to be a slightly more busy part of town, but this place has a large lot and we found parking really easily. It was also on a weekday.

On our drive back from Calistoga to Berkeley, my bestie and I needed a quick snack, and this stop in St. Helena was perfectly timed. She's been here plenty of times; it was my first visit. This restaurant is located among Brasswood's other businesses: winery, bakery cafe, and some retail store (that I didn't check out). there's a large inside dining room with interesting decor, and there's an outside seating area in the back as well, which overlooks the courtyard in the middle of all the business (which has a nice water fountain thing in the middle). the middle of courtyard looks like it's set up for weddings. I opted to sit outside since it was a nice day as did most of their other customers at the time. Our server was polite and professional. - fresh mozzarella with toasted bread: I don't know why this isn't listed on the menu since it's the biggest reason to come here. Fresh pulled mozzarella that they cut up tableside and serve on some freshly charred and toasted bread. It's not just nice, fresh mozzarella; they season it properly along with a drizzle of olive oil. So good. - heirloom tomatoes with balsamic vinegar: this is also not on the menu, but it's probably seasonal and based on the availability of good quality tomatoes. delicious. a perfect complement to the mozzarella, really. is it pricey at $12 for a few pieces of tomato? yes, but I'd do it again. - Short Rib Sugo (slow-cooked short ribs, carrot, & onion sofrito, mushrooms, cabernet sauvignon, parmesan, house-made pappardelle pasta): this was a solid dish. basically, what you'd expect. nice and rich. I think they used a touch too much rosemary when seasoning this dish, but not enough to ruin it. - Duck Bolognese (sonoma duck, classic mirepoix & red wine, pecorino romano, house-made pappardelle pasta): this was also delightful. it ate similar to the short rib sugo in that it was this rich, delicious pasta dish. I found this one more to my liking compared to the short rib sugo, but I think they're both fine dishes. - The Brasswood Burger (meat, cheddar cheese, & ketchup only): this was a variation of their standard burger that was ordered for a kid. I had a few bites of it. while the bun was just plain great, the patty itself was dry & overcooked. they didn't ask for the doneness of the meat when we ordered, and perhaps, they just hammered the thing since it was being served to a kid. - French Fries: these were served with the burger. they were very nice. thin and crispy. good fries! - Chocolate Mousse Cake (cranberry sauce, chantilly cream, amaretti cookie): this was very chocolately. almost too chocolatey, but the cranberry sauce and chantilly cream played a nice foil to the richness of the chocolate. I wasn't sure if I'd like the chocolate & cranberry combination, but it worked nicely. A good dessert for chocolate lovers.

We really enjoyed the smoked chicken wings with Alabama sauce. The smokiness of the chicken was so good paired with the tangy sauce. Hubby enjoyed his pork chop. It was a huge cut but he always orders pork chop and never complains unless it's over cooked. I wasn't that hungry and ordered a regular garden salad and was convinced to add an avocado which was ripe but didn't add anything to the salad. I did like the sunflower seeds in the salad. There wasn't anything else on the entree menu that appealed to me. Maybe it would've been better to order a couple of appetizers as my meal. I could have consumed the entire plate if chicken wings by myself. Bathrooms are in the rear, in a separate small building. My biggest disappointment was the cheddar biscuits. It was chewy-like, dense and arrived lukewarm. Likely reheated and the dough was probably overworked. There was no cheddar inside the biscuit but coated on the outside. It came with a few biscuits but after eating one, I couldn't eat anymore because of the texture and chewiness. The honey butter (couldn't taste any honey) didn't help either. I make and try out different cheddar biscuit recipes at home and this would be a recipe I'd toss out.

The reason for my review is because of the cleaning procedure. We had a two top by the row of cushioned bench sitting by the bakery counter. One of the employees (who was nice but) was vigorously sweeping all the crumbs on the floor. The kicker was she then took that same broom she was sweeping the floor with and started vigorously sweeping off the crumbs on "the cushions" where people sit!!
