While driving in Redondo Beach my Hubby and I of course needed a cup of joe. We came across La Terraza and decided to check them out. They offer your traditional types of coffee in addition to yummy food. Hubby and I decided to eat and grab some breakfast. They offer both inside and outdoor seating. We decided to eat inside. I got an iced vanilla latte in addition to an omelet. Hubby also got an iced vanilla latte and a fancy breakfast sandwich. Everything was really really good! I haven't had breakfast foods in a while so this was actually kind of nice to be able to grab a little warm breakfast and enjoy it. The service was stellar as well. The place is really clean and nice and I love that the owners are two couples that live locally and decided to come up with this great little coffee shop. I will start with some pros: great outdoor seating area, proximity to beach, and free parking. The service was quick, and the coffee was very good. Cons: iffy wifi, no for-here mugs (single use only), and cost. To be specific, a small (12 Oz) cappuccino with alternative milk and w/standard tip was over $7...like ouch. I don't think I've paid that much for an alt milk latte (which has more milk/is always more pricey than a cap) in LA. It's a cute place but I probably won't be coming back because, for me, the cons outweigh the pros. The coffee was good, tho, which made the cost of the drink slightly less painful. I've seen La Terraza on my drive to work every day, and I'd always been curious in giving it a go. Finally got my chance to go for lunch with friends. Located on the corner, this café has limited seating indoors, but several tables outside (and under the shade) for plenty of space and seating options. Just be aware that La Terraza doesn't have its own parking, so you'll have to park on the street. I'd heard that La Terraza is known for their breakfast burritos, so I opted for one (+ avocado). Also ordered their seasonal strawberry white mocha, which was pretty good: sweet and had the strawberry flavor. No complaints! The burrito itself was a bit on the small side, and given it costs about $12, I would hope it'd be bigger. Taste-wise, burrito was all right: I enjoyed the toasted, slightly crispy and flaky tortilla on the outside, and the soft, tender potatoes on the inside-- those two were the highlights. However, I did find the burrito to be on the bland side, and even the salsa served on the side didn't do too much for it-- the salsa was barely spicy. Not the best breakfast burrito I've had, but it did the trick for my cravings. Overall, decent café for your standard breakfast/brunch items, all the while being steps from the beach. Dan is awesome, and he has been with La Terraza since they first opened right before the pandemic started, and it is easy to see why. He is friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the brand, and he is even from Rodono himself! He took the time to get to know us, and was extremely pleasant to talk to about the menu, the shop, and just personal things in general. I really enjoyed his recommendations, my friend went with the breakfast burrito and she was able to get it vegetarian which is great for her. I went with the BLTA which was absolutely delicious and something I would both order again and recommend to anyone who comes to La Terraza. The coffee that they use is La Colombe, and for the Nutella latte, they actually use real Nutella! I love that they have board games inside, a restroom for customers, both indoor and outdoor seating, and plenty of free street parking. read more

La Terraza is a cute little cafe. I tried the seasonal pumpkin latte and the BLTA sandwich. The sandwich felt a little light and small, but it was still good, and I enjoyed my drink. The staff was pleasant and came out to bring out my orders, as I had the kids running around the patio. They have a couple areas with rocks and stepping stones. My children were running around these, picking up rocks, and balancing on the stones. They also really liked seeing all the small dogs that came with their owners. It's coffee with a cinnamon twist. The latte version was bomb, from the first sip i was like, ok this IS cafe de olla. The barista did say the latte was a little more bitter than a regular cup because of the espresso they use but i didn't notice the difference much. I also had the breakfast burritos, i had bacon & soyrizo. Both so delicious! It's not your regular coffee spot with pastries & avo toast (which i think they have too) but you get a hearty breakfast without a restaurant atmosphere. La Terraza is a small cafe 2 blocks away from the ocean. The place has a decent outdoor sitting area which is nice during Covid-19 and all the tables are separated far from each other so definitely put customers at ease. We used to eat at the cafe a block away from La Terraza, but due to Covid-19, La Terraza became a new place to eat at b/c of their outdoor tables. The food is decent at La Terraza, very typical brunch places you might find in nearby cities and definitely a bit overpriced since it is located in the prime area of Redondo Beach. A sandwich is over $11 or $12 dollars, so just a sandwich and a cup of coffee usually would cost $17 dollars. Overall, I enjoy coming here on a regularly basis since the latte is good (unless it is made by the newbies they just recently hired), and the food is fresh, healthy and light. The ambiance is nice since you can enjoy a meal outdoor near the ocean. read more

I really wanted to love this place. I've lived in the South Bay forever and I'm always on the lookout for a new (to me) coffee shop! I'll start with the positives and the reason for 2 stars: - I love the location and the vibe inside. -staff is friendly! -my vanilla oat milk latte was AMAZING. Unfortunately my reason for the negative review is the food. Not only did it take way too long for a bagel sandwich, but it arrived cold (the cheese wasn't even semi-melted). The menu advertises a "fried" egg, but it came sunny side up and undercooked. Not the end of the world for most people probably - but something others should be aware of! Further, the egg was extremely runny and hardly fried. It's normal for the yolk to be raw, but the majority of the egg white was runny too. I would have taken a photo, but I was meeting someone for the first time & felt awkward doing so. Definitely come here for coffee but stay away from anything cooked in the kitchen! read more

I had to try this place out, for something new. They expanded the seating outdoors with more tables. There used to only be about three tables, but there are double now. You have to come at just the right time because I grabbed the last table when arriving, but the tables opened up by the time I left. There was no line when I placed my order, but a slew of people arrived behind me. People were outside waiting for their orders because there weren't enough tables. I had the latte and La Terraza omelette. It took more than a half hour. The staff are very friendly, and as efficient as they could be, under these covid restrictions. There was one person at the counter taking orders, one person making drinks and delivering orders, and one cook in the back that I could see. The latte and food were good. The omelette comes with a side of hash browns and bread. They have a pretty nice food menu. Regarding parking, there's plenty of free street parking. read more

This is an interesting café. It is located right on Pacific Coast Highway, so it is very easy to find. They don't have any dedicated parking, but there is plenty of street parking in the area. In terms of seating, they have several outdoor tables where you can eat your food. The basic format for eating at this restaurant, during this time of the coronavirus, is to go inside and order, then go out and grab a table, and they will bring your food to you. Very simple. A lot of their customers also get their food to-go. The one thing that you really need to know before you come here, however, is that this restaurant is a fairly popular location. Due to this fact, when you come here you may wait a long time to actually receive your food as they have a very small staff. For example, the last time I ate here I waited thirty-five minutes from the time I ordered for my omelette to be brought out to me. So, be prepared to wait. The other thing to know is that sometimes you will have people get a cup of coffee or a latte from this restaurant and then sit at their table for a very-very long period of time. There's sometimes when I come to this restaurant that I will notice that there are a couple of people sitting there when I arrive, I order, get my food, eat, and they're still sitting there talking when I leave. So, just a small recommendation here is, if you don't see a table available, you may not be able to get one by the time your food arrives. This is just something to keep in mind, and you can, of course, take your food to go if that is the necessary outcome. But, sometimes there is just no tables to be had. Overall, good place. The breakfast burrito was smaller than most breakfast burrito places, but it satisfied my craving for a breakfast burrito. It's dainty and a simple breakfast burrito, but it was well made and hit the spot. Much like their City Terrace location, their drip coffee is served warm. This is the probably the only coffee shop in LA who doesn't serve their drip coffee hot. For the price they are charging, it wasn't worth it. I forced myself to drink it warm and bitter. It's coffee similar to what you'll find at Starbucks. They probably use a darker roast from La Colombe or need to adjust their brewing technique and how they store their drip coffee so it stays hot. If you're a Starbucks drinker and add syrups or cream and sugar to mask the flavor of your coffee, you will probably be satisfied with their coffee. If you're a coffee purist or a discerning coffee drinker who believes that coffee is like wine and it is a crime to add favored syrups to high-quality coffee, I would skip this place and head to the Boy & the Bear, Verve, Two Guns Espresso, or goodboybob. I would recommend you ordering a breakfast burrito here and ordering an espresso drink so it is made fresh and hot then you can add cream or a syrup to your coffee because sipping their coffee alone is not a pleasant experience. Go for the breakfast burrito and flavored coffees or add cream to mask the flavor of their bitter coffee. 4 stars for the breakfast burrito, 2 stars for the coffee. read more

I am not one to post reviews, but I had such an awful experience at this coffee shop today that I felt I needed to warn others. I was extremely excited to try out this place as I had heard great things in the past from friends and family. I had no issues ordering my drink initially, but when my name was called I walked over to pick it up and accidentally had gotten someone else's order. I acknowledged my mistake and apologized immediately to the barista, but to my surprise I was met with an extremely rude attitude and unprofessional demeanor. This experience was so upsetting to me I walked out of the shop in tears. I understand the shop was busy, but the way I was treated as a customer was completely unacceptable. I like it that way to keep it simple. When i went i ordered the breakfast burrito with regular coffee. The people working there are friendly. The food came out pretty quick. The burrito was not huge and it is a perfect size. It tasted fresh, crispy because of hash browns. The texture was great as well. Coffee was spot on as well. The salsa that was given for the burrito though was bitter. This is the first time i have had a salsa that is so bitter. Having a breakfast burrito without a good salsa makes it hard. Just recently discovered this neighborhood gem. Now I'm addicted to their macchiato or flat white with oatmilk and their fried egg sandwich! So good! Time has changed these days with Covid-19. They have patio seating and their staff cleans and wipe everything down, even the chairs. They have hand sanitizers and they do not take cash for payment. Love the staffs.
