The meat selection was limited but good enough for a casual meal: picanha, alcatra, various types of chicken, and sausage. The salad bar was well-stocked, and the hot dish section offered a great variety of options such as garlic rice, fried rice, spaghetti, stroganoff, black beans, plantains, steamed veggies, and collard greens. It had everything we needed for a hearty Brazilian lunch. The medium-rare picanha was buttery and perfectly salty. The garlic chicken was juicy and well seasoned. Collard greens were savory, tender, and nicely crunchy. The potato salad, beets and corn were nicely fresh. Been here a few times. Food quality is just ok. The signage says that they charge a salad bar/meat/hot food option. There is no indication saying the proportions of food. When I tried to ring up, they just tried to charge me the full price of a full bbq plate. Spoke with the manager and asked her to show me where thats stated. And she said it should be explained verbally and she mad no attempt to rectify the situation. Would highly reconsider this option for the service, quality and price. read more

I've been here over 20 times and haven't written a review. All the 20 times I've eaten here the food has been warm and fresh. Unfortunately today, it was not. I always order the Garlic beef and today it was FULL of FAT, the temperature was cool and did not taste as fresh like the usual times. Me likey La Vaca! While in the hunt for lunch with some coworkers, we figured the dining area at Century City Mall was our best bet. It's one of the nicest "food courts" I've ever been in so that's why I'm calling it a dining area. After taking a spin around the place I went all in in La Vaca and would take that bet again in a heartbeat! I've never seen a food stall for Brazilian and after scanning their hot and cold bar, knew that I would be happy with my decision. I got a colorful array of salad fixings and a few plantains from the hot bar. I made my way over to the churrasco area and got beef plus Brazilian sausage. The good? I joined the clean plate club here. EVERYTHING WAS DELECTABLE. The bad? Lunch was $27, oof. I've been a loyal customer of La Vaca Brazilian Grill at Citrus City Mall for years. The food has always been fantastic, and my family and I have dined here dozens of times. However, my recent experience was so frustrating that I left without eating and am seriously reconsidering coming back. I came in with my seven-year-old son for lunch. He had salad and steak, while I chose salad, French fries, and steak. When we went to pay, the cashier told me she couldn't ring us up unless the non-meat items on our plates weighed more than the meat. I was confused because this was the first time I'd heard of such a policy. At first, I told her to do whatever she needed to do to ring me up because I genuinely didn't understand what she was explaining. The cashier then took my plate, removed all the meat, and put the plate back on the scale with only the salad and French fries. I asked if the issue was with my son's plate as well, and she confirmed it was. She then did the same thing to my son's plate. Frustrated, I ultimately told her I'd changed my mind and didn't want to eat there. I handed her both plates and left. This experience was beyond bizarre. While the food is undeniably delicious, the service is unacceptable. I may give this place one last chance because of the food, but if I encounter this kind of treatment again, I won't return. I hope management takes feedback like this seriously, as even great food won't keep customers coming back if the service drives them away. read more

I hate taking breaks at work, especially on a dreary Sunday. I knew I had to eat something though, so here comes La Vaca, right past the dead Chick-Fil-A (only since it was Sunday). At first I wasn't sure how this place worked, but the boxes were at one end and you just helped yourself. I guess I'm still thinking as though it was 2020 and things were extremely limited and you couldn't self-serve, but I quickly came back to 2022 and helped myself to some mac & cheese, white rice, Spanish rice, and some garlic mashed potatoes. Cashier was super nice, and I was on my way. Everything I had was really good! I'm pleased it wasn't half-assed like some places you go to that looks good, but it's really terrible. The mac & cheese wasn't even touched yet so when I dug that first spoonful out, I felt some guilt but this was worth it. Shady sales practices at this location! One person in our party just had the salad bar, which was priced correctly. The other person had a mix of salad bar and BBQ, which should've been $14.45/lb. We had to ask for a special receipt just to get the breakdown only to find out this plate was charged at $18.95. We notified the cashier of this mistake and they separated the veggies from the meat and weighed then individually rather than simply charge the correct rate. Then to calculate the refund we were owed, they used the pre-tax amount from the original receipt and the post-tax amount from the updated receipt, as can be seen where the cashier circled the amounts. I got ONE to go container and it was $33.00. This is the most expensive lunch I have ever purchased at a food court. I still can't get over how bananas expensive this joint is. I was pretty excited to see La Vaca open up at the food court. I'm a big fan of Brazilian BBQ but have really only been to the AYCE places (M Grill and Fogo de Chao). The set-up here is self-serve and you pay based on how heavy your tray is. They have a decent salad/hot bar but in terms of salads, there are not a lot of options. They have a good amount of hot bar options ranging from cheese balls to macaroni & cheese. At the end of the line, you get to the meats and you just tell the guy behind the counter which meats and how many slices you want. I opted for the standard picanha (top sirloin cap), picanha ao alho (garlic beef) and the linguica (Brazilian sausage). Compared to the other Brazilian BBQ spots that I've been to, I thought the meats here were whatever. I asked for medium rare and the meats came out more on the well-done side. Not to mention, I thought the meats had a little too much fat on them and weren't juicy at all. I suppose if you were craving Brazilian BBQ, you could opt for La Vaca. Wow. How have I not discovered this place earlier!! So it's in the Century City Mall food court so there's no ambience or any of the things Yelp asks you on your first checking lol Literally nothing is labeled, so I'll just describe things as best I can. I have a cold green bean salad with some cold pico de gallo on top and it was very tasty. I also had some hot greens, they're sort of like collard greens but a Brazilian version. Amazing. I also have some roasted vegetables such as broccoli, onions and bell peppers. Wonderful. So they were out of the Picanha beef so I had the less-fatty Alcatra beef. Wow, the it was super tender and the flavoring was wonderful. I should've taken a picture of my plate before I ate but I forgot lol. Anyway it was 1.1 lbs and $17 & change out the door. I couldn't finish my meal, so a good value :-) This has become one of my new favorite food court destinations here at the mall. Expectations were high but the reality turned out to be worse than average. I'm almost ready to come hang out in front of their counter, to yell at people: "Stop don't eat here!" I think I received some old man galoshes instead. That piece of meat that was in my plate was so dry and old that I just left it on my plate untouched. Food is good but the service and price? Not worth. My boyfriend spent $36 on a plate because the lady giving out the cuts of meat was so rude. She gave him 3 pieces of chicken and we thought it was by the slice like the others. When we said we only want 1 (before it touched our plate) she refused to give us 1 and made us pay for all 3.
