This morning i was super hungry & actually had a chance to grab something before work. I found this gem up the street! It isn't something i would choose off of appearance but i was very glad i did. Due to COVID only 10 can dine in at a time. Only 3 people can be inside to order food. The cashier was nice and very respectful. Due to covid You have to wait outside for your phone. Lakewood diner is a tiny hole in the wall joint that I probably would never have tried without finding it on Yelp. Myself and some co-workers ordered some biscuits for us and friends at work. Chicken egg cheese Bacon egg cheese Sausage egg cheese Ham egg cheese and every version there of .... The biscuits were fresh and fluffy with crispy exterior. The toppings were great. I also ordered an OJ while I was waiting on our order and it was huge !! Ice cold without ice ! The cost is very reasonable and the speed of which they made our order on short notice was great. Ok. i'd still eat here BUT this last time i went, i invited a homie for pancakes. the food was ok...but my scrambled egg had a shell in it and i checked out their health grade and it has dropped from an 88 to an 81 which is too close to a C+ to me. the booth we sat at had not been cleaned out and I realize that the place is packed and has a turnover BUT because of that I think the staff should work on making sure that the areas are clean. Again, i'd still order food but it'd be to-go. Just because the food i've had so far was good. Hopefully when I go back their health grade will be better. read more

This is a small restaurant located off Metropolitan ave. In Philly, we called these places "greasy spoons". I really like this place for the good food and reasonable prices. The service was excellent, the server made me feel very welcome and she kept checking on me. I believe she from Texas and had a nice southern accent. Also, she knew almost all customers by their first name and regular food orders. I thought that was cool because you don't see that everyday.
