All the mains were good, and everything is very beautiful, which is great when you eat with your eyes first. Crab Benedict was made with real crab, eggs poached well. It didn't feel heavy at all to eat. Chicken and waffle was pretty standard, but chicken was cooked well. The fried rice was flavorful and the pork was really good too. The side pork sausage was interesting, quite gingery though, I'd skip next time. The Thai tea latte was very good also, and you can make milk substitutions. Most Thai tea I've had is iced and premixed, this must be freshly brewed to be able to make substitutes. It's also not as sweet as most premixed Thai teas. read more

Highly suggest coming here early if you're going to do brunch on the weekend. We arrived at 9am and it was already a full house. With that being said, I had to rate this spot at 4 stars because of the service. All the servers are baristas, food runners and taking orders so there isn't a smooth process. But! Came around 12:30 on a busy Monday. The line was out the door and all seating inside and out were full, but we were seated outside within 15 minutes. One of our group members had a flight to catch, so by the time we got our food (around 1:40 p.m.) we didn't get to take a picture. There were plenty of menu options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ordered the Pacific Catch, Meat Lover Omelette (both came with salad, potatoes, and toast), french toast with eggs & pork sausage, and the new england chowder. Would recommend all for brunch but if you want to try something new, definitely get the tom yum burrito. The iced Ube and Matcha Lattes were great, and they have bottomless mimosas for only $22. Maybe I was just too hungry waiting for my food, but I started to love all the cupware they used for the drinks. Anyway, back to the food. I ordered the fried chicken benedict and if you love runny eggs and chicken then you will love this meal. No complaints around here, everything had very solid flavor. I always say the eyes eat before the meal and I loved the plating of our dishes -especially the steak and eggs my friends ordered on the cutting board. I really appreciated the service even though we were obnoxious and tipsy at 11:00am but, whatever, c'est la vie. After paying I just HAD to order one more thing to go because I physically cannot stop myself from eating anything Tom Yum flavored and that burrito was calling out to me. We've eaten here twice, a year apart, and each time has been consistently great food and service. The table over saw our thai iced tea and ordered one themselves as well haha, which I think was a great decision. then for the entree we got the holy basil ground chicken omelet, which our wonderful waitress said was very good, and I agree. The eggs were perfectly fluffy and the fillings were generous and so flavorful. Their breakfast potatoes were maybe baked? because they were not oily at all but still perfectly crispy, and had both regular and sweet and purple(!) potatoes which i LOVE. The toast was solid and the meal also came with salad which made me feel ~so healthy~ And last but not least, (swipe to the last photo if you haven't already because it's a doozy), the STEAK AND EGGS. Oh boy the steak and eggs were so good. First of all, it was served on a literal platter of goodness. And the steak was honestly so good, like better than most steakhouse steak I have had in a while. A relaxing spot a block from not so relaxing union square. With how close Lapisara is to there and the TL, it sits somewhat out of place as a sunny breakfast joint. Drinks are top-notch and topped with a fair bit of liquor (we sat right next to the station and could see how much vodka was going in those bloody marys). I appreciated my kale salad (though wouldn't say no to some more massaging of it), and my date quite liked her benedictions. LAPISARA! Wow this place is amazing. We got to the restaurant around noon for brunch on a Saturday. When we got there, there was a quite a line formed, but we figured we'd see how the line goes. It went quite quickly, and we were seated after waiting about 15 minutes or so. The host passed out menus to everyone in line so they could browse through the options there. Let's get to the food and drinks. The fried chicken here is so freaking GOOD. It's crunchy on the outside, but still tender and warm on the inside. My friend and I both got the fried chicken benedict and loved every bite of it. The hollandaise sauce, runny egg, and fried chicken just paired together so well. I was a bit worried that the fried chicken would get soggy, but not one bit of that meal was soggy. The rainbow potatoes on the side were also such a nice touch, as it was nice to have some color contrast on our plates (plus who doesn't love sweet potatoes?!). Another friend ordered the fried chicken and waffles, which were also super yummy and filling. These plates were full of food and we left more than satisfied afterward. For drinks, we couldn't decide between something warm and something cold, so we opted for both! The ube latte and thai latte were so smooth and creamy. The mimosa, Moscow mule, and 689 were all really great as well. The 689 cocktail was really refreshing and yummy, we were tempted to grab more! We got to sit outside and it's a pretty tight area, so don't be alarmed if you bump elbows with the table next to you as you're leaving. Overall, the ambiance of Lapisara is very cute and aesthetic. Service is attentive and fast here, we were always being checked up on. The menu is huge and offers a wide variety of options - it took us a while to finally decide on our dishes!
