I went in yesterday afternoon for a burger. I ordered a burger with cheese and dill pickles. When it came out it had ketchup on it so I politely sent it back, when the new burger came out it had sweet pickles instead of dill. I was very hungry so I ate it anyway; the burger quality was great! I just wish they'd tried a little harder to get the order correct, it wasn't a difficult order. read more

Great place to eat. Just a precaution to new customers, when you walk in, no one seats you. Find your own table and sit ASAP! I suggest you come early and beat the crowd. The first time I dined here, we waited at the door & clearly were confused as to how this place worked & sat its customers. Okay, so we've been coming to laurel tavern since it opened. This place is our Sunday Place!! We love the bartenders and we love the food. This Sunday, today, we came here to yet another menu change. Prices went up, they took more items off the menu, and I actually sent something back. We have never done that!! Changing your food menu is not always positive. Taking popular items off makes me want to go elsewhere! Side salad was just lettuce, weird for this place! They had an amazing butter lettuce salad with fried goat cheese that went away! There was a time when this would've been a 5 star review no question. Today was the third time in a row I've been legitimately disappointed. First they pulled the only beers I ordered off their tap list. Normally, I'd roll with it but this place has never been a bastion of great beer choices so it was a bummer to find myself wanting to drink nothing they had. But I'm a big boy so I picked something else and moved on. Then we came in and they had pulled their delicious lollipop wings in favor of grilled wings that are honestly just blah. Ok, no big. That's not our favorite dish. Today we go in for lunch and discover that they've pulled the duck fat fries (favorite fried potatoes pretty much anywhere) and changed their hot pretzel. The old one was unique and delicious. More a roll than the traditional pretzel shape. Now it seems like the same pretzel I'd get at the carnival. What it feels like is that they've been highly influenced by their less successful sister store, Forman's Tavern in Toluca Lake. It seems very much that decisions have been made with the calculator rather than the palate which is a defining feature of the Forman's menu. This used to be my favorite spot for a beer and a bite in the entire Valley. I think today was the last time I'll be there. Bums me out. read more

This place is solid. Reminds me of an east coast bar with the wood and brick decor. The crowd is a really good mix of people and I noticed a lot of Red Sox fans hang out there yet it's not a Red Sox bar. The bartenders are really great, Sarah is an absolute sweetheart! There are tons of beer on tap and they will let you taste them before you purchase. My favorite was the Lost coast apricot wheat and the hefeweisen (i believe it's a craftsman beer) which tastes like bananas. I tried the pork fat fries and they were delish - not much of a strong pork fat taste at all. In fact with pork fat in the name you expect it to taste more like bacon grease but it doesn't, it was much lighter. A couple sitting next to me ordered the pork belly skewers and were kind enough to offer me one and WOW the flavor was UNREAL! I highly recommend those! I ordered the Hickory Burger which is the one wit Tillamook Cheddar Cheese, it was small but SO JUICY and GLORIOUS! I absolutely loved it! I can't wait to go back and try their house burger with gruyere cheese next! The price point is right, just about everything on their menu is under $10. You can have a great night out drinking beer/wine and eating a small meal with friends for very litte $$ spent. read more

Nice beer selection and the bartender picked out a lovely Northcoast selection for me. Need to go back and try the food. The place was packed and I didn't see the awesome crowd that was mentioned in another review. The crowd seemed very pinched and uncomfortable. I've been to packed bars in NYC where people were nice, this was not the case here. The Father's Office comparison is valid, which makes the decor of Laurel seem like a copy cat. It is good to have a decent beer pub in the valley, hoping the atmosphere will improve on the next visit. read more

Fun, raucous, overstuffed little pub with an interesting crowd of regulars. It's a bit too upscale to be called a dive bar, and way too popular, but if you can wedge in, there's an excellent selection of beers and better-than-average food. Definitely a fun hangout, but better when the nights are warmer, so you can comfortably hang out in the outdoor areas too. read more

Literally the best burger i've ever had, Bacon, bleu cheese, caramelized onions and green apple slices, on a fresh bun served medium rare, doesn't get better than that. Their shoe string fries are the way to go. Drinks n such are expensive kind of a pretentious crowd, apparently they would rather watch a year old high school football game than any sort of soccer. Been here a few times. Place gets Packed almost every night. mostly hipster dudes. Burgers were good the first few times then the seemed to decline in Taste and quality. Maybe the chef changed?? I came here on Tuesday night with my girlfriends in search of some great food. We were definitely not let down. I've been here in the past, but there was something positively different about the food this time. The menu had some new items.. we came here for the rare craving for burgers, but also tried the heirloom tomatoes and buratta (wow... truly amazing pairing) and we also tried the ribs. OMG! I truly believe these are the best ribs I've EVER had! The meat was so tender it was falling right off the bone and the sauce had almost every explosion of taste: sweet, spicy, savory... Also, the burgers were cooked right on. So moist and bursting with flavor. The drinks were great as well. I especially love the mojito. One of my friends is a whiskey drinker and loved the whiskey menu. The service was great as well, we were very well taken care of. As we were leaving, we struck up conversation with the door guy (who is a sweetheart!) We told him about the great time we had and were raving about the food to him and he told us about Shawn, the new chef in the kitchen was responsible for the fabulous food we had so overly indulded in. It's a pretty cool bar to check out. I've gone a few times on either a Friday or Saturday. The beer selections is pretty solid. They have a big board that has cheaper beers, which was great for me. It can get a little pricey in some areas though. I went to get a Long Island and it was 12 bucks. A little out of my price range. I've had a good time whenever I go here, definitely bring a group. read more

Had a blast with friends there. Drinks are alittle pricey but no big deal since they are big and great. Im only giving a 4 rather than a 5 because the bouncer outside was a dick. We were drinking and having fun with our friends and the tables next to us even got in on our games and conversations and the bouncer came in twice to tell us that we were too loud that he could hear us outside which the doors are open and we were sitting at the first table so duh of course you could hear us. I went to Laurel Tavern for a quick drink and ended up staying until the place closed. I LOVED everything about this bar!! The staff was so nice, the bar had a sexy vibe and I could not believe how huge their wine selection was. Honestly.....amazing!
