Oh man, this is a tough one. I wanted to love Lavo, I really did. Sadly, this is nowhere near worth the cost they charge. My husband and I passed by and read through the menu. We thought it sounded pretty good and then I saw a review on FB singing Lavo's praises. We decided to make a reservation to try it for dinner the next day. We waited longer than I anticipated for having a reservation. Our waitress, Jordyn, was awesome. My review has nothing at all to do with her. She went above and beyond and took great care of us. In fact, she was the best part of the entire dining experience. Definitely request her in your reservation notes. The food mostly just very average. With the prices they charge, I was expecting to be wowed and nothing wowed me. We ordered the garlic bread with all the sauces. They were okay, the white alfredo sauce was probably the best, but even then, it wasn't noteworthy. I wouldn't order it again. We decided to try the meatball because everyone raves about the meatball. Again, it was fine. I definitely think it is extremely overhyped. I certainly wouldn't order it again given the cost. Chicken parmigiana is my favorite thing to order at an Italian restaurant. When I ordered, I was asked if I'd like a side of pasta with it. I should've known it would be an upcharge. It was $9 I think for small side of spaghetti. I don't know what it was about it, but I didn't like the noodles at all. I barely touched them. Now, my husband's salmon was fantastic. I don't even LIKE salmon. I don't eat any type of seafood. I've tried it before and just don't enjoy it at all. If I liked it, I could only imagine what a salmon lover would think. It was so well seasoned and flavorful. The presentation is not pretty, but the taste fully makes up for it. I might come back and try Lavo for brunch one day as I've seen a lot of good reviews on it, but then again, I saw good reviews for dinner too and it clearly just wasn't for me. Dinner at LAVO located at The Palazzo in Las Vegas was a wonderful dining experience to celebrate my son and niece's birthdays! The ambiance was quite the buzz in an ultra chic setting. The dinner menu offers your classic Italian options such as pizza and pasta with tasty cocktails. Customer service was excellent by Cristian, our server, and the rest of the team - thank you all! I opted for the vodka cocktail: Silk Road. Velvety, crisp, & fresh. Hints of lemon and pineapple and topped off with an egg white foam made it light and airy. But my son's mezcal drink was probably my favorite: Hot & Bothered. It was topped off with white chocolate for the sweet and spicy notes! Our party of five enjoyed the complimentary Foccacia along with the Black Truffle Pizza, Caesar Della Casa, and Fritto Misto for starters. Our plates left nothing behind and were whisked away in preparation for our entrees. While we waited for our Carbonara, Seafood fra Diavolo, Meatball, Brussell Sprouts and Truffle Fries, we couldn't help to stare at the neighboring table. Located downstairs in Palazzo is a little joint called Lavo that does a great brunch, and I'm sure other meals as well. The inside is beautifully decorated, though a big group like ours had some difficulty fitting. They made it happen though. Service was amazing. From our main server (The Filipino cat!) to his helpers (homie with the glasses who reminded me of Sketch, he could pour water 3 feet behind without missing) they handled everything amazingly. Thank you for amazing service. Your service alone is 5 stars. Food was OK. The oysters were the best part, however we were only able to secure one round. We were able to substitute something, but it definitely wasn't the amazing oysters. If we had AYCE oysters, this is a 4-5 star experience. The tartar and the deviled eggs were the highlights. The bacon was amazing. But that's because I love bacon...and it was cooked to perfection. The smoke Salmon pizza, although not a pizza, was beautifully done. I'd probably call it a smoked salmon flat bread though. Other than that, everything else was just OK. It was a little slow coming out, but we attributed that to how crowded it was. We chose LAVO for our Thanksgiving dinner because we used to live in Singapore, where LAVO was one of our absolute favorite spots. Unfortunately, the Las Vegas location didn't live up to the experience we were hoping for. The restaurant was very dark, making it hard to enjoy the ambiance or even see the food well. We were also seated in an inconvenient spot where people constantly brushed past and bumped into my seat. The visit started off on the wrong foot when the receptionist assumed my husband had the lowest rewards tier and told him he could "just give his card to the server," which isn't even true. It felt careless and unprofessional. Our server, to be fair, was warm, friendly, and attentive--probably the best part of the evening. However, when my son asked for au jus for his filet mignon (which wasn't great), the server offered peppercorn sauce instead and never mentioned there would be an extra charge. Seeing a $3 fee on the bill wasn't about the amount--it was the principle and lack of transparency. The food overall was good, but still not worth the high prices... though maybe that's just the Strip reality. LAVO has a beautiful, modern atmosphere and the staff was friendly and attentive from the start. I ordered the beef carpaccio, which came with truffles. It had good flavor, but the bitter greens on top threw it off for me, and the carpaccio itself felt a bit dry. For my main dish, I had the chicken marsala. The portion was generous and it tasted good, although I've had better versions elsewhere. Our server suggested getting a side of pasta to go with the sauce, but I passed. Someone at our table did order it, and it showed up as plain buttered pasta for $15. Not exactly worth the upgrade, especially since it's not listed on the menu. For dessert, I tried the cheesecake and the affogato. The cheesecake was solid, nothing over the top, but enjoyable. The affogato had a great presentation and was fun to end the meal with. Overall, the experience was nice. The space is clean, upscale, and has that Vegas strip vibe. The food was decent, not amazing, and the prices are on the higher side for what you get but that's expected given the location. My girlfriend and I went on September 26th before the Ringo Starr show. We walked in and were seated immediately. Which is nice considering in Vegas you still have to wait even though you have a reservation. We were first struck by how beautiful the inside was. It felt so warm and inviting. Our server was Jennifer J. She was fantastic and gave us a rundown of the menu and what's most popular and what were some of her favorites. They come out with fresh bread and dipping sauce and a veggie plate. Both were very good. I got the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were so tender and delicious. My girlfriend got the Reginette Seafood Alfredo. Which was scallops, and shrimp In a lobster butter sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly and it was amazing. For desert we got the homemade cheesecake with a crème Brule top on it and some delicious coffee. This may be my favorite new Italian restaurant in Vegas and the prices seriously can't be beat. Food: Party of six. Three said food was cold when it came out (8 oz Wagyu Skirt Steak, Eggplant Parmigiano, and Spaghetti and Meatballs). Three said food came out perfect (Lamb Chops, Spaghetti Tomato and Basil, and Chicken Parmigiana). Consensus of the group is that the food was good. Menu said the beet salad included oranges. However, my beet salad did not have oranges. We all enjoyed the 20 layer chocolate cake. It was tall and imposing. The table behind us was even in awe when it arrived at our table so kudos on presentation! Service: We were all unimpressed with the service. We don't know if it was inexperience or indifference. Water refills were sparse and very untimely. Soda and lemonade refills were sparse and untimely. Our coffee person said he was just ignored and gave up. He was never asked if he wanted a refill. I read that purchases at Lavos counted towards Venetian rewards points. The review said to ask staff to swipe card or get the receipt and go to the rewards desk. When I asked the waitress if they took the rewards card, she simply said they were Tao and didn't participate in the rewards program. I was waiting for her to tell me to take my receipt to the rewards desk to get points (because what she probably meant to say was they didn't swipe the card); that information never came. The waitress left the impression that money spent at Lavo did not count towards Venetian rewards points. I can't believe the staff doesn't know that Venetian Rewards accepts receipts from Lavo...so again, was it inexperience or indifference. I suspect indifference, but who knows? Finally, in the U.S.'s 2025, stellar first-rate customer service world, this restaurant is like some others that won't split checks at the customer's request. Three checks was apparently too much work. Remind me what the 18%, 20%, and 22% suggested gratuity is for again. Is it for taking the order, cooking the food, bringing the food? In-and-Out and McDonald's does that. Or is it for the quality and excellence of service and going a very little tad bit beyond the basics. In an honest, neutral world, I'd say no tip was warranted, but I could not do that and left the standard 20% (plus it was Christmas). I'll end on a positive. I do think the prices for what we ordered were fair. Not too high, not too low for The Strip. Give the place a try. read more

Came here for Sunday brunch with my wife and brother in law. We had a 12:30pm reservation and were seated a few minutes after checking in. It was a nice and busy Sunday for brunch with parties of various sizes small and large. The restaurant is spacious and offers plenty of seating options. The brunch is a $65/person all you can eat as it's "base" offering. You can choose various "add ons" such as an unlimited drinks, or up charge for various premium menu items such as caviar, steaks, burgers, etc. For our group of 3, we kept to the assortment of included menu items which was solid and tasty. Some of the highlights for us included the oysters, which was a maximum order of 24 per table. I have been here before when it was completely unlimited, so this was a slight downgrade for me. What also makes it confusing is that the menu states "maximum 24 oysters per order, per table". But it doesn't define what "table" size means. So for our party of 3, at 24 oysters max then it's only 8 per person. What if we had more than 3 people at our table? It would have been better to put a limit on the number of oysters per person per party. That would be most fair and reasonable while still putting limits on the pricey seafood offering. It was also not stated by the server at the beginning when we ordered to let us know that that order of 24 was the max we would get. I only found out after trying to order the second round. Had I known, we would have ordered fewer at the start and reordered more until we hit our max allowed limit. The other items as shown by the pictures were well prepared and worth the value for the $65/person. The Tuna and Salmon were well seasoned and prepared. The portions for the Chicken and Waffles was huge! The pizza was large and had about 6 slices. The pappardelle pasta was amazing with the perfectly al dente sheets of pasta swimming in a veal bolognese sauce. We ordered two salads (Beet and Cesar). We did also pay an extra $15 to share a NY strip and another $10 for the deviled eggs with caviar. We capped our dining experience with dessert, which included red velvet cake, chocolate peanut butter cake, and tiramisu. All excellent! If you come to this place, I would recommend at least three or more people per party so that you can share in the items ordered. Two people dining would still be a challenge to order enough variety. You'll be super stuffed! Service was great and our server and support staff were attentive and helped clear and change our plates as needed. For $65/person, this is still a great experience and value for a Las Vegas AYCE. Would have been better had they kept the unlimited oysters, but in today's economy I can't blame them for making that change. 2/5 Stars I really wanted to like LAVO Italian Restaurant, but unfortunately this was a major miss. We dined here nearly 10 months ago before a Backstreet Boys concert at the Sphere. I was hosting a client and was out with three girlfriends -- all of us dressed in white (as one does for BSB). The restaurant wasn't crowded, so we were expecting a smooth, easy dinner before the show, especially given the convenient location inside The Venetian Resort. Fast forward to this weekend, when I was in Vegas for No Doubt concert and dined at Carbone. That experience was so fantastic it completely triggered how bad LAVO was -- hence why I'm finally writing this review. Back to LAVO... Our server came to take drink orders and we tried to place food orders right away. We asked for very simple things: * A side of broccoli * An extra plate so we could split a chicken parmesan * A substitution of red sauce for Alfredo (we were wearing white...) * Or even just pasta with sauce on the side Every single request was denied. The response we repeatedly got was, "The chef doesn't do substitutions." No flexibility. No attempt to accommodate. No effort whatsoever. None of our requests were outrageous -- we weren't asking for a custom tasting menu -- just basic, reasonable dining accommodations. It felt unnecessarily rigid and honestly unwelcoming. To make matters worse, the food itself was underwhelming at best. I'd rate it a 2/10. In a city like Las Vegas, where incredible dining options are everywhere, this was a huge disappointment. It's especially frustrating that a resort like the Venetian has such a mediocre Italian restaurant. For comparison, Carbone was a 10/10, and I'd also highly recommend Scarpetta. Yes, you'll need to grab a taxi or rideshare if you're heading to the Sphere afterward, but it's well worth the extra few minutes. If you're seeing a show at the Sphere, do yourself a favor and skip LAVO. Don't waste your time or money here when Vegas has so many far better options nearby. read more

Well I have been here a few times and there is two different versions of this exact same restaurant. 1-A BEAUTIFUL italian restaurant with one of ther best ginormous meatballs STUFFED with ricotta cheese. It is a bit upscale so keep that in mind. Not only are their small drinks and cocktails delicious but the chicken Caesar salads were one of the best I'd ever had in my life but I swear I dream of this giant meatball. The staff are SO very sweet and upmost professional with everything so while you're there, make sure you go out of your way to get this giant meatball! It's enough for a group of 3 guests possibly more and I believe it's veal? It's a must try. 2-On Sundays or Saturdays I am not sure if it rotates but they do have something at the exact same place called "Lavo Brunch" my friend and I dressed cutesy expecting a brunch because the flyer didn't look too crazy. We arrive and they cleared the tables on the top floor the bottom floor and turned this beautiful restaurant into a full blow DAY CLUB we were shocked but had a great time it was so fun and we did get table service having a friend in the company. (Mind you this is 11:00 am) but in Vegas time does not really exist if you know what I mean lol. So that was polar opposite of what we were expecting but it was fun and we enjoyed it thoroughly!! All and all before you go certainly make reservations for here, and if you see "Lavo Brunch" on a weekend during the day? Well let's just say it's more of a party than your average brunch so be prepared for that as well. We upgraded everything we could by adding the bottomless drinks, the caviar, and the steaks thinking we would have a great time. Our server tried the best she could but she was just so busy. We came here on a Saturday night. The dining area was fairly busy but we were able to find a couple of spots at the bar without trouble. It started becoming more busy as the evening progressed. There were a lot of people dressed up. The restaurant definitely has an upscale kind of vibe (go figure). The bartender took our drink orders quickly while we reviewed the menu. I ordered the Pappardelle Veal Bolognese and she Reginette Seafood Alfredo. It was really good. The pasta itself was well made, and I also heard they make it in house. The meat and seafood were cooked perfectly. Overall good tasting pasta dishes. The bartender recommended the Oreo Zeppole saying it is one of his personal favorites. We ordered it and I can see why. My first bar visit here was to get a Spring Cocktail Passport. This Tao Group promotion includes the Rose's Turn drink here. It's a "tequila spritzer" made with prosecco & grapefruit. Very tasty! It's not on the menu, it's a limited spring cocktail for $22. Most of the specialty drinks I saw on the menu were around this price. The bar area was busy when I arrived at around 5 pm, and I was able to get a seat because 3 people were leaving. I asked the bartender about the Cocktail Passport, and she was able to explain the promotion to me. I didn't have to wait very long for my drink, and the bartender was attentive to customers. She offered me a food menu but I declined. The decor inside the bar & restaurant is nice, it's a slightly upscale vibe. If you're looking for amazing Italian food in a I pleasing restaurant look no further than Lavo! Located on the casino level Lavo is a must try for delicious Italian food. The entrance is quite unassuming, but when you step in the inside is very big and decorated extra extravagantly. To start off I ordered the sapphire mule and it was unlike anything I've had in taste and color. The complementary bread is soft with a crunchy edge. We ordered garlic bread for the table, and it was just as good. The garlic bread comes with three dipping sauces pesto Alfredo and marinara. All three were amazing. For the entrée I went with the Zitoni Genovese. The short rib was cooked to perfection and they did not skimp on the portion size. We visited LAVO right when it opened, and the ambiance immediately struck me -- it felt like stepping into an elegant, upscale version of a stylish grandma's home. Warm, beautiful, and timeless. Our server was friendly and attentive, but the upselling was a bit too forward. For example, after describing a featured drink, she ended up ordering it for me even though I didn't actually say yes -- that felt a little presumptive and took away from the experience. That said, the food was absolutely delicious! I had the burrata ravioli, and the flavor was phenomenal -- creamy, rich, and well-balanced. My only wish? More of it. There were only about 6 or 7 small pieces, which made it feel more like an appetizer than a main course. I was still hungry afterward (since I ate only 6 to 7 bites total) and for an entrée, I expected a bit more substance. We also ordered the garlic breadsticks, and they were a definite highlight -- soft, perfectly seasoned, and not overly garlicky. My husband ordered a pizza, which came with generous portions and plenty of slices. He enjoyed it and said it hit the spot. To top things off, they surprised him with a complimentary mini layered birthday cake, which was soft, moist, and a lovely touch to end the meal. They are a bit slow at the service we asked for Water and it took a while before the Water got there and then we asked for coffee and the coffee took about 15 to 20 minutes to get there. The waitress did let us know that everything is ordered slowly and there would be a long wait times in between the dishes coming out which we were OK with but it is slow so just be prepared. We also had to keep asking for small things because we didn't have like utensils or they didn't bring a sugar with the coffee or cream so it was just a little chaotic but overall good time it's beautiful inside with nice views of the strip. If you want something that gives you bang for your buck I definitely recommend this. Just be prepared for a slower than average service time. read more

We were in Las Vegas for my daughter-in-law's birthday and this was the restaurant chosen for her birthday dinner. This restaurant is located in the Palazzo and after a little hiccup with the reservation, we were seated. The atmosphere was lovely as was the restaurant. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the bread and dipping sauce. We had several dishes but the most delicious was the truffle pasta, I love frutti de mare but this one was not my favorite. Most of the dishes were very good and we enjoyed our meals. The best part though, was the incredible 20 layer chocolate, so incredible and it was enough to share with everyone at the table. Ok first off, I was a bit worried after reading the newer negative review. I'm so glad I didn't let that stop me from trying LAVO. I thought this place was amazing in every way. To start, the service was spot on. Our drinks were always filled, food came out in a timely manner and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. For water they even offer lemons, cucumber and grapefruit if you like. We were treated like we were the only people there, when in fact it was packed! For the food. I really enjoyed the focaccia and marinara and crudités topped with olive oil. I ordered the penne alla vodka for my main course without the pork. It was probably the best I've had, I loved it. My husband ordered the 14 oz New York strip steak, not one bite left. We also shared an order of truffle fries, which is more like a platter of truffle fries. They had fresh truffle shavings all over and were so tasty. I also liked the vibe and decor inside. It's just a perfect place for a date night or group dinner. It was very upbeat. I want to try the brunch next. Unfortunately we ate too much and couldn't manage dessert. It definitely looked good, next time. read more

Food was subpar and wildly overpriced. I was honestly taken aback by how young the hosts and servers looked. They appeared almost high school aged, serving a largely middle aged crowd. The restaurant brands itself as "hedonistic," and while that's accurate, it wasn't in a good way. Our server looked barely twelve. Her dress was so short it felt uncomfortable, like one wrong move would expose her. The cleavage focused styling felt forced and cheap, especially given how young she appeared. It wasn't sexy, it was awkward and try hard. I can appreciate places like Hooters. I can also appreciate young people having fun with people their own age. Be young. Wear the mini skirts and booty shorts. That's fine. But it crosses into something unsettling when very young looking staff are leaning over middle aged men and even kids sitting at the table. Located in the beautiful Venitian Hotel, this swanky upscale restaurant is top notch. The ambiance is quite and classy, great for a romantic dinner or get together with friends. The waitstaff were all prompt, friendly, and attentive. We ordered the garlic bread but if you don't want a lot of bread, you are served 4 pieces with crudites. Their wine menu is extensive, with something for everyone. I settled on a spritz and hubby enjoyed his pino. We had a simple salad with a delicious dressing.The seafood pasta was out of this world, with spiral noodles that absorbed the sauce well. Hubby has chicken parm and we were surprised at how large our portions were. Had we not filled up on bread and salad we could have made room for one of their delicious desserts. Extremely disappointed in this restaurant. I had shrimp scampi which consisted of four large shrimp in the shells with legs and all and it was not easy to dig the meat out and other than that it was garlic breadcrumbs and oil for $38. I got very sick later that night. I don't think it was food poisoning. I think it was all of the butter. And I didn't eat most of the breadcrumbs. I just ate the limited amount of shrimp meat. Nothing came with it so I ordered asparagus. It was supposed to be jumbo. It wasn't, but it was very good nonetheless. My friend ordered a side of penne with her shrimp scampi that was $15. My iced tea was $7. Probably the most overpriced meal I've ever eaten. The restaurant was extremely dark. Another friend had a beet salad which she said was pretty good. And another had ravioli, also good. A small basket of extremely oily focaccia bread was $19. I know it's Las Vegas, but this was a little over the top price-wise. read more
