My girlfriend and I walked in and were ignored by the workers (3). so we had to get their attention and then when they finally decided to help us they said we had to go to the front of the store to fill out a paper to order what we wanted and then give it to them. I don't understand the purpose of that when the attraction of a place like this, or Subway for example, is that you get to pick as the worker is moving along the counter. I wish that training is much better in places. When food makers wear gloves, it is to protect the food from their hands and not the other way around. I ordered a drink and paid cash. She gave me my change and then walked to the cooler and gave me my can. As I watched on, she continued to make another bowl without washing her hands or changing her gloves. Came for rolled ice cream/icicles around 9:20pm on memorial day. First thing that I noticed about the place was that they play loud EDM songs that you would head bang to. Interesting. The line oddly faces the front of the shop instead of it facing the door, but that's fine (You'll know what I mean when you get there). They have the register that seems like it doesn't accept the chip on the card, only the sliding option (sucks for me because only the chip on my card works). I ordered a mañana mango(w/mochi, marshmallow, pocky stick, strawberries,bananas,& condense milk) and something with brownies and chocolate. With a long line of people there were only 2 of the rolling stations open, so it took 20 minutes. Manana mango wasn't bad 8/10. Was hoping for the mango to be more sweet than sour, but it's fine. Perfect for hot weathers like that night. I'll probably come back for poki next time. read more

ANOTHER poki place in East San Jose? What could could set this one apart? First, I was really impressed by the designs and decorations of the store. It's super spacious and is separated into a space for ice cream, and the other side for poki. It's not too cramped or loud. The designs for the ice cream menu is amazing! Props to whoever drew them. You pay before you buy your bowl. I got a regular poki bowl, and something I noticed was the fish is cut really big. Some people like it and others don't; I personally didn't care. The service was excellent and there is a variety of toppings. The bowl gets pretty heavy and you get a lot of food for the pricing. The ONLY downside... my poki bowl was actually a poki porridge of sushi rice, spicy mayo, and sauces... It was gross. Instead of holding the sauce and just putting in the fish after mixing, Icey Poki puts in EVERYTHING from the bowl. Sauces and all. And the rice turns into salty, disgusting chowder. No white rice in sight. The flavors were overpowering. I ended up going home and making my own white rice. While I enjoyed the service and the toppings, I have to make sure to tell them not to dump everything in the bowl. Good thing I was down to go home to get white rice; otherwise, I don't think I could've eaten it. But still, I think you should give this poki place a try. Just HOLD THE SAUCES. Icey Poki is a unique dining experience. A rolled ice cream shop is on one side and a poke bar is on the other side but you order at the back then give your receipt to your respective bar for your order. Can't say I'm a huge fan on that concept but if it works, it works. I didn't have the rolled ice cream but there seems to always be a line for it so it's gotta be good to some extent right? The poke bar was decent though a little pricier than necessary. It's a typical poke place so don't expect anything amazing, it does its job with its fish selection, toppings, and portions. Portions are pretty generous though so you will get full from a large though a regular will probably also satiate you. Although icey poki isn't my first choice when it comes to poke, I really love the selection and amount they give you when it comes to each bowl. I especially LOVE hamachi (yellowtail) in general and icey poki is the only other place I go to for poke that serves it. HOWEVER, I was very disappointed when I received my poke bowl through UberEats back in March. I clearly ordered salmon, yellowtail, and spicy tuna for my 3 proteins. I was getting very excited to finally taste the yellowtail I've been craving for, but instead, they gave me regular tuna instead of hamachi. I was devastated LOL (jkjk, I was just really, really disappointed because there were so much anticipation building up to that moment). It could've been an honest mistake by one of the staff, but if it wasn't, I've specified for them to CANCEL the order if something wasn't available. When I called them to ask about my order (after it's been delivered), no one answered the phone. tl;dr, ordering and choosing your bowl in person is definitely going to be more reliable (and less expensive). Awesome ice cream- terrible wait! I ended up having to wait (at minimum) 10 minutes before anyone showed up to take our order. This would normally not affect my review if it had only happened once, however I also bought ice cream a couple days prior with a friend and it ended up being the same wait (if not more!) 2nd time I come to this place. First time I came here was a bit of a disappointment, oldest gentlemen there helped me and honestly if I based my experience on him I wouldn't come back. For having been the first week open I thought they would be excited when greeting customers but that is far from what I saw. So I gave them another chance....a week later Returned earlier in the day, thankful I was helped by Jason. Had a smile and seemed happy to be doing his job. They ran out of a fruit I wanted and instead of having to wait for them to go back to there warehouse and pick up more I asked if I could just add something else as I too was short on time. We decided to try Icey Poki with pick up during the quarantine and I must say I was pleasantly surprised at their poke quality. The order was completely contact-less, all staff were wearing proper PPE. The pricing on the large poke bowls was very good consider how generous they are with portions. Fish quality is superb, some placed in SJ tend to offer fish that's not very fresh. Flavor of the yellowtail, tuna, and salmon were spot on with what you would get at a more expensive sit down establishment. Their sauce to protein ratio is also great, not too skimpy but not too saucy. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a new go-to Poke spot in ESSJ. read more

I strongly believe that I'm right but I would need to double check IF I ever go back but they use the same size bowl for a large and a regular but they claim that the amount of rice changes, of course, along with the number of protein scoops. The problem is that I'm just as full when I'm eating a regular and a large AND the bowl looks the same because my family members eat a regular. What's even more funny is that they ask for tips before they even make your bowl. The whole point of tipping is for good service. How do they ask for tip BEFORE they even service us of making our bowls? Big bonus: icey poki is open much later than your typical poké joint which puts them above all the others! I'm always seemingly craving a bowl after 9 pm, so this one is perfect for the late night snackers like me. I'm not personally a rolly ice cream person, so I tend to stick to my right side when I walk it. The establishment is big and there's always open seating whether you're there for the icey, the poké, or both. I love the idea of combining the both. They do make you pay beforehand which can we kind of confusing because you have to pay for extras right then and there before you even had a chance to decide (mango +.50, avocado +$1, sweet egg...). I always opt for a custom burrito which are always iffy. Sometimes they're wrapped TIGHT like a burrito should be (which was my experience with Jenny I believe her name was- long hair, working late, who did an awesome job and helped me to a few samples!), but sometimes you take a bite and they fall apart. I don't think it's the thickness of my burrito because I always get the same thing, but I hate how for the price I have to end up eating it like a bowl. I love poke-rittos though so I probably will continue to get them and hold onto them for dear life, but maybe Jenny can show the guys how to wrap them. MUST GETS: WASABI AIOLI! Extra on the side! Make sure to get their spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and raw salmon mixed with their unagi sauce, spicy mayo, and wasabi aioli! Freaking awesome with any choice of your toppings! A solid option for poke if you live around the silver creek area. Cheaper than many other options and the portions are still huge. I usually skip dinner if I finished a whole large bowl by myself. I've never had a problem with the ordering process, and I'm usually in and out with how quick they make the bowl. Very efficient and useful when I just want to grab some takeout on the go really quick. I've never had a problem with the quality of any of the seafood, and they give two free scoops of crab salad, one spicy and one not. There's a wide variety of sauces and toppings to choose from, and they definitely don't skimp out on the scoops. Some people might not like the mashed up spicy tuna cause its likely cheaper than the fresh cut spicy tuna of some other places, but I guess I'm a cheap person cause I enjoy it more. There's also options for the rolled ice cream, but I usually ignore that since it's just gimmick ice cream, and I'd rather have normal, cheaper ice cream. Solid poke though. read more

I am loving this place! I have eaten here 3 times in the last week. The first time I got a bowl & it was great, but my FAVORITE are the poke tacos! You get 4 tacos for $11.99, with your choice of 2 protein, onions, spicy mayo, & unagi sauce. I personally like to add sesame oil on top as well! Pretty good bang for your buck at this place. You get much more food and pay for about the same price as a sushi roll at a sitdown restaurant. I got the large and it was plenty of food. The set up is kind of weird though. You have to order at the back which is very confusing. At first I thought it was a self-serve kiosk and I almost walked behind the counter and started using their point of sale system. My girlfriend was having a blast laughing at me. All in all a pretty good spot. You could think of it like the chipotle of raw fish. Can't speak much for the ice cream, but next time you're in the area give this place a shot. read more
