This place is a fantastic example of doing things well. I had the avocado crab salad, which was super fresh and delicious. It was perfectly prepared with not a single piece of shell. The flavors were very well done. It needed just a pinch more salt, but that is easier to add than take away. The mussels were prepared in my favorite style. Super classic white wine with some aromatics. They were perfectly cooked which is that tricky balance that ends up with a nicely tender fully cooked mussel. The restaurant is very beautiful and yes I love white tablecloths at nice restaurants. All of the people working there were very nice and my service was exceptional. Mon dieu! This is my favorite place for brunch. They have a fun DJ that plays club tunes for a really festive kick off to brunch! Here's a little update. I went in December and again in may. In December, it was freezing and we had to sit on the patio. Service was subpar at best. Maybe part of the French flair is acting as if they don't want you there. Went again in may, for my birthday, trying to give it another shot; again, horrible service. I think I could get better service at Applebee's. $190 for lunch- staff doesn't appear to care, very uninspiring and lackluster cuisine. A true example of a denver failure. If you've been to their other locations...this is nothing like those. LeBBQ Denver is sort of..old? Feels like there's always a lot of people over 60 here. Not in a bad way. Just not in a models popping bottles while the DJ spins way (IYKYK) The food is very good. The fireplace lounge is lovely. It's very high end bistro. Power lunches happen here daily. As a person of color, I would not come back to this place. It seemed like a good enough restaurant, in terms of food food and wine, but level of service was poor. And as the only SE Asian woman there, I could sense a difference in treatment and attentiveness. I came in on a Saturday night as a solo diner, and they seated me at a table because the bar top was full, but the restaurant was half empty, so it was okay. And I was seated quickly. The server was extremely inattentive. I had to hail down separate waitstaff any time I needed some thing because she was busy serving the other tables that were right in front of me, but couldn't have bother to even ask me if anything was OK with my table made entire almost two hours I was there. Little things like the bag that they used to pack up my leftovers was even different from what other patrons received. When I told another waiter than I noticed the difference in treatment throughout my time there, my original waiter brushed it off as "I'm not sure how that would happen" and not even say sorry. read more

We arrived at 5:30 before the restaurant began to fill with dinner guests. We were very warmly welcomed and seated in a great corner spot (round table for two) where we could see the whole dining room and watch as patrons entered. I'm from Denver but was not familiar with the restaurant. My best friend, visiting from the east coast, read a review of the restaurant and was curious about how Chef Sosthène Kaboré brought gentle West African innovations to traditional French cuisine. We were not disappointed at all. The cajun chicken is a tender, succulently spiced chicken breast, prepared with a "proprietary blend" of seasonings according to our waiter. My friend chose this entree, and I tasted it. And I loved it! We both agreed it was probably the best chicken dish we've ever had. I had the branzino -- lightly pan fried and served over rice pilaf and a very satisfying, light curry (Vadouvan) coulis sauce. Before my meal arrived at the table, I thought I wasn't going to be hungry enough to clean my plate -- but there were no leftovers. As an appetizer, I had the organic green salad, which was very nice, but I found the dressing just a tad sweet. My friend had the scallops carpaccio (thinly sliced raw scallops) with a fantastic tamarind ponzo sauce. Another delightful treat! The restaurant is expensive, but the service, presentation and taste of the food make it a wonderful splurge. I'm very glad to know about Le Bilboquet now. Did not realize this was a chain until their Atlanta location blew up on social media today, makes more sense now. Food and service were pretty good. Can't believe, though, that the 'signature' dish (le poulet Cajun) at an ostensibly French restaurant was boneless, skinless chicken breasts pressed flat so the oven time can be programmed easily. We recently dined at this restaurant and found the food and service to be good. But, we discovered a large error on the check and reported it to the manager who said he would investigate the error and get back to me. I had to call back 4x and still have not received a resolution or a call back. In addition, the restaurant charges "taxes" of 8% not the government-regulated 4% in Denver. I understand they may be adding something else into that percentage but they should itemize the charges. That 4% is the least of my concerns considering the error in the check was over $160. Not getting back to the patron is not only rude but disrespectful. read more

We had reservations for a special occasion, their patio was packed, it was a fun atmosphere, however the service was horrible. It took the waitress 20 minutes to come by for our drink order, another 30 to order apps, the server put in the wrong app order (then charged us for them). They didn't clear dirty plates off our table until dinner came, and never came by to check on our meals after they were dropped. Followed up with complaint and they told us they were understaffed but to come back, that we would be taken care of then. Really? Sorry, we will not be coming back. read more

Went here for date night with my husband on a Sunday evening at 7PM - it was packed! Lovely bar/lounge area I'd like to come back to some time. Envokes feelings of a modern french bistro and the fresh flowers on the tables are a wonderful touch that I always appreciate. Even though they were busy - the service was great. I had a lovely sparkling rose and my husband had a cocktail - they were out of what he had asked for but the server made a great comparable suggestion - also had a list of all the liquor options which is nice. Dinner was fabulous - I had the beat salad - which could have been shared it was a lot but made for a good lunch the next day. The pesto and shrimp pasta was wonderful and unexpected for a french restaurant but came recommended by the server. Finally - had the mousse for dessert and it was so luxurious and classic - it didn't disappoint. Husband had the mixed green salad which was nice and fresh - and the steak frites which he said was perfectly cooked and overall exactly what he was looking for. He also had some apple dessert - I don't recall and the list wasn't online but he said it was fabulous. This was definitely one of the more expensive restaurants I've been to in Denver and it is a chain - but worth every penny for a great experience and wonderful food. Great patio space perfect for social distance dining al fresco. Interior is beautiful...like a European old war bar without feeling stuffy. Food is simple, fresh and flavorful. Nicoise salad with seared ahi was perfect for a warm day. Dressing was not not sweet or vinegary, just perfect saltiness. Loved the addition of anchovies. K got the omelet du jour, mushroom, swiss and tomatoes. Eggs were light and fluffy and you could distinctly taste all the ingredients. All items in the baker's basket were scrumptious. Menu said 'Hangar Steak', and it was clearly a skirt steak, which they list on their lunch menu. I've had Steak Frites a dozen times, and never had it served using the toughest, cheapest cut of meat out there. Waiter acted a bit standoffish when I questioned why they choose to use that cut in a French restaurant. He took it off the bill, but didn't offer me anything else. Would I go back? Extremely pretentious maitre d (an older bald, rotund gentleman with a NY accent) - I've never encountered a ruder person working in the service industry. This was the first time my family and I visited the restaurant for Saturday brunch. We arrived for our reservation right on time, walked in the front door and didn't immediately encounter a greeter or a host, so I walked up to the DJ booth (which at first glance didn't really appear to be a DJ booth). I told the person I suspected of being the host, but who was actually the DJ, we were there for our reservation. She was rude and very dismissively informed me she wasn't the hostess. I then said "Oh, you are just the DJ". I meant no disrespect by using the word "just"...I basically was just clarifying that she was not both, the DJ and the host. By this time the maitre d had approached and heard the quick exchange upon which he immediately fired back and said, "No, she's not JUST the DJ." I then said, "Well thank you very much for correcting me." And he gave me a very snarky "You're welcome", and then quickly showed us to our table. The food was so-so and overpriced (it's Cherry Creek so what did we expect?). The north facing patio was lovely on a beautiful summer morning and our waitress was wonderful; she was very pleasant and attentive. I wouldn't recommend to others based on the initial treatment by the maitre d and the overpriced food that lacked any real flavor. read more

The setting was rather austere, posh French. The service was excellent and extremely attentive. The food on the other hand was lackluster. My daughter ordered the endive salad, which she was told had no lettuce in it, to which she is allergic, but it, indeed, had some shreds of lettuce, which she had to pick out. we both had a tiny terrine of soup, which was quite good, and then I had salmon, Florentine Benedict. This came inexplicably, as previous people have noted, with a pile of overcooked, shoestring, french fries, and some greens. The eggs and hollandaise and salmon were fine, but underneath was clearly a Thomas's English muffin! Seriously? For that price? My guest had a Mocktail and I had coffee and we had a basket with three excellent pastries in it. But overall, I thought the food was disappointing especially for the price. I dine in Cherry Creek all the time and looked forward to this place opening! Dropped in the other night, the space is beautiful and I appreciate the design. I had the steak tartare, which was a solid dish--well constructed, tasty, but not a showstopper. There was an issue with my first drink order which I was surprised wasn't resolved more effectively but I let it go. I'm hoping that when the hype dies down this will become the french bistro I've been missing since moving to Denver from NYC, but for right now it's giving off "special occasion" vibes. One, I'm SO excited for a classic French restaurant! Two, this place is gorgeous and makes me want to have a private party. Three, I'm dying at dude's review of this place as being a French wannabe with an uncreative menu... seriously? It's called classic French cuisine. A cuisine which has been studied by any classically trained chef and one of the most influential cuisines at that. You can thank the French for many of the fusions you maybe enjoy, though I feel like Applebee's might be more your speed. Glad you won't be taking up any space here. More for me! Now. We went for brunch. The classic and non-classic cocktails were effing delicious. Service was attentive and friendly. I got the mussels, my husband got the Cajun chicken, and my mom got eggs Benedict. Everything perfectly cooked, seasoned, and naturally, with lots butter. Yusss. We need to have a very special moment here for dessert. These were amazing. My mom got ile flottante and I got the tarte tatin. Omg. There were vanilla beans seeds all over both dishes. I think my mom didn't say a word until she'd almost licked her bowl clean. I am so bummed out about our experience at this Le Bilboquet. I went to the Dallas location frequently and fell in love with the charm and excellent service. I have since moved to Denver and when selecting a restaurant for my birthday celebration it was a no brainer. I noted on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday but they could not have cared less. The service was slow and then when someone finally came by they seemed to be in such a rush - I asked a question and by the time I was done speaking our server was already in the kitchen. I watched as other parties received fun sparklers and lovely birthday wishes but when our dessert came, nothing. They eventually apologized but at that point we had been there for three hours and just wanted to go home. Disappointing because when paying these prices for dinner the expectation is a lot higher. He rushed our dinner and then told us we had been there too long and couldn't have dessert. I am in the industry and understand tables need to turn. He was rude , nasty, very unprofessional and made us never want to return. There is another way to push guests to leave sooner. He ruined the experience of what could be a great restaurant.
