Wonderful food in a beautiful decorated environment! We had dinner at Le Jardin Bistro on a busy Saturday evening. We started with the Onion Soup, Foie Gras and the Tuna Tartare - all nicely prepared. For entrees we had the Duck Breast, Rack of Lamb and the Beef Bourguignon - all good with the Beef Bourguignon especially standing out, great flavor. The Caramel Soufflé Glacé and the Chocolate Soufflé were both very nice desserts. Our server was terrific and wonderful decor. Definitely worth a visit!

Great find. Ordered Mesclun salad, Duck Breast, Steak Frites, wild strawberries topped cream tart and apple crisp tartlet. Cocktails: Eclat Tropical and Hemingway. The duck was tender and perfectly grilled. French fries were crispy. Mesclun greens were perfect; presented like "freshly picked" from the garden without any blemishes, lightly kissed with a clear vinaigrette dressing.

Located on the corner of the block. Not too busy of a street. Cute art deco like style interior. Three levels (upstairs for events?), main dining floor with a spacious bar, and downstairs with clean spacious bathrooms. Omelette with the sauce was a tad bit too salty for me. But balances out well with the potato's and side salad. The French 75 is a great cocktail. A citrus lemony twist in gin and brut. A fun blend of sweet , twist of sour and bubbly. I came with a Groupon which makes the cost really reasonable. It does NOT include the tax and tip though, so keep that in mind as you'll still pay something when you use the Groupon. Staff checks on you quite frequently to make sure you have what you need or to clear things out of the way on your table.

Le Jardin Bistro effortlessly brings the elegance of Paris to the heart of NYC with its charming garden-inspired ambiance. Such a beautiful and cozy place, romantic with a rustic flair. It felt like I stepped into a fancy restaurant in Paris. Located on the main level of the hotspot and infamous tri-level, The DL, and in the heart of LES. I stopped here for a quick brunch meal before heading to the movies. The voucher I had included one entree and a brunch drink. I went with the steak and eggs. It came with breakfast potatoes and some salad. The service was fast and I couldn't have been more pleased considering I was a bit pressed for time. The steak was tender and juicy, the eggs were light and fluffy, and the potatoes were perfectly seasoned. I couldn't have been more pleased. My only issue is the bartender could've made in brunch drink in a bigger glass and not the smallest one in the restaurant.

Came here on the Saturday night before the blizzard of '26 for my Moms birthday. The space is very airy and cute with interesting paintings and chandeliers. Service was good, our waiter was helpful in making choices for my undecided cousin lol I split a Steak Tatare app with my cousin and it was the first time I ever tried it so not much to compare it to but it was very fresh tasting. Milder than I thought it would be and I liked the primal feel of eating raw meet. For my main I got the hanger steak with frites. The steak was perfectly cooked if a bit tough as that cut tends to be. The sauce was good but needed a bit of salt. The frites were amazing. Crispy but pillowy inside and damn near perfect.I get why they call them "french" fries! I also tried my Moms mussels and they were just perfect. Tender and clean tasting. Lately I have been on a bad run with mussels being a bit stringy or gritty but these were amazing and the broth they came in was incredible. I thought my cuz was gonna stick his head in the bowl! Definitely enjoyed this meal and would go back.

Spectacular experience. Fast and attentive service, every bite was phenomenal, can't ask for more! I particularly enjoyed the soft shell crab burger and the grilled duck. Exceptional flavors!!! Took me right back to France.

Cute place! It has a nice, casual feel. Decor is nice Staff are nice and helpful. Food is good. Drinks are good. I loved the French onion soup (not too salty) but very cheesy (in the good way). Came here for dinner. We came in the early side, so the dinner rush didn't quite hit, but it was a quiet place, which was good (no blasting music). It a nice place to go and have a catch up with friends/family. Only thing I would say is that bathrooms are down a flight of steps, so if you're coming with someone who might have mobility issues - just keep that in mind.

Onglet Au Poivre Vert. $28. Hanger steak, green peppercorn sauce, frites. Good deal and really tasty

I went to this excellent relatively new French spot earlier in the evening for dinner with one of my usual groups. They have apparently been open since October last year but they used to have their original location on Cleveland Place in Soho with the person running the event being glad that they're back. The space inside is nice looking with a bunch of chandeliers and a good looking bar space and the menu has a bunch of $18 cocktails along with a bunch of wines but none of us had anything to drink. The waitstaff was friendly and professional. In terms of the menu which consists primarily of classic French bistro food, we were originally going to order the Cassoulet but that is not on the menu anymore and hasn't been since at least February or so and they haven't updated their online PDF menu. There's also slight differences in terms of the vegetables that come with dishes so I won't be including the normal menu descriptions in my dish listings as they'll be quite inaccurate. In terms of replacement for said cassoulet, they added their old favorite which was the tourneados rossini which was a wise menu change. They gave us some bread and butter at the beginning which was cool which is unfortunate as it was good quality so hopefully they start warming said bread or we just got one they forgot to warm up. We ordered five main dishes along our group of five to split and left comfortably full. While all the dishes were excellent, the best of the bunch was the pricey but outstanding Tournedos Rossini consisting of filet mignon with seared foie gras and shaved black truffle for $59. The filet was cooked a perfect medium rare with the dish having a nice sear on the outside which is usually something I would complain about for most fillets. The generous amount of foie on top was rich while the truffle added some earthiness and the au poivre sauce had a light richness to it. There was also snow peas as well as a type of root vegetable to accompany the dish. This was a very tasty version overall with the steak being better than La Rivage which is one of the only other place serving this dish while I think the richer demiglace sauce there complemented the dish a bit better. Equally good was the Magret De Canard, or in other words, the grilled duck breast with pink peppercorn sauce and potato gratin for $38. The sliced duck was extremely tender with good flavor with the fat being perfectly seared while said peppercorn sauce added a light zest to the dish. The gratin was a highlight with a good texture from the more seared top to the more buttery inside while the rabe added some texture and slight bitterness. The Onglet Au Poivre Vert or hanger steak with green peppercorn sauce for $28 was also excellent and a good deal. The steak was quite tender (and especially for a hanger steak) with a good sear with there only being a light chew. The peppercorn sauce was nice though with less of a bite compared to some other French spots but I didn't mind this and that's usually the case more often anyway with the less common green peppercorn version. The dish also came with some excellent pommes frites which dipped well in said sauce along with the other sauces. Also tasty was the Carre D'Agneau listed as a rack of lamb with rosemary jus for $42. The lamb was cooked perfectly as with every other meat with the rosemary jus highlighted the lamb flavor. However, the vegetables were a bit more lacking in this dish with the roasted tomato having a bit too much raw garlic so there was a little bit too much of a bite. I think also the carrots could have been a bit more seared. Outside of those nitpicks, tasty dish. Our last main dish was the Bouillabaisse or a Provencal fish stew with the daily fish (which was cod,) mussels, shrimp, and saffron for $41. The dish also came with some toast points as well as an excellent Dijon on the side (I think I might have been an aioli) along with some grated cheese. I'm usually not the hugest fan of this dish but this broth had more of an in depth flavor compared to most with a good kick from the saffron and not being as one note as others. In terms of seafood, the pieces of cod in there were thick while the shrimps had good texture and the mussels were good. There wasn't too many pieces of each but it was enough. This would be a tasty and lighter main dish and was good. I can see why the previous version of this place was popular if the quality was anything similar. All of the proteins were perfectly cooked and the prices were overall perfectly reasonable for the quantity and especially for the flavors. It's not the most nuanced French place but as a classic style bistro, they they're not trying to be and it's nice to have another excellent no nonsense bistro. I hope they do well and they should. Mid 4.

The ambience was definitely very nice. However the experience mostly went downhill from there. The seating between tables was beyond cramped and the table was quite small as well once all the plates and drinks arrived. Came under the Groupon gift voucher $65 for 2 drinks 2 apps 2 entrees. We weren't drinkers but they weren't accommodating to switch to credit towards something like dessert which was a bummer. Got the french 95 and red wine both of which were only okay/iffy even to my friend who still loves red wine. The apps were an interesting experience for the first time. Escargots (6 pc) were packed with flavor but also drowned in oil and only a few pieces which were small. Frog legs (3pc) were actually nicely cooked and seasoned! The apps were the only decent thing here. The complimentary bread was flavorless and too hard. The entrees steak frites cooked medium was soooo tough. It looked so red as if it was cooked medium rare but tough like a super well done steak. I couldn't even finish the steak because some pieces were tougher than I could bite into. Very surprised as I've never disliked a steak frites at any formal establishment before! This is a first. The fries were overly salty. When asked for ketchup the gave the tiniest portion ever even though the saw the amount of fries. The salmon was grilled too well done, chewier and thus drier than usual at other places. Only good thing was the crispy exterior but overall lacked flavor. The rest was just ok. Overall, food was really meh and could definitely get better quality at better price elsewhere. Again, main highlight being the apps mainly frog legs. The service was slow throughout the meal and hard to flag someone down. When asked to take away the extra water jugs and glasses and plates because the table was so cramped, the waiter seemed very annoyed I even asked and took it in a haste huffing away without a word. The kicker came at the end because the meal had already been paid for by the gift voucher but required a mandatory tax and 20% tip so it required another $45 payment which was very misleading, not communicated, and not changeable. Just a heads up if you were planning to come here especially under this voucher. Considering the overall just okay to borderline bad experience here from the seating to service to food, the steep mandatory additional payment "tip" was not the way to end it.

The experience here was wonderful! It was my birthday and we had escargot, pâté, and roasted duck breast to name a few! Our server Michael has wonderful energy and really made the night! Thanks so much for a wonderful start to my birthday weekend

Honestly, I think this is my favorite French spot in NYC. The food is amazing! I cannot even nit pick any of their dishes. Everything is seasoned and cooked perfectly. I love the decor, with the chandeliers, photos on the wall and red couches. The bar area is beautifully and colorfully decorated. It's such a cute and lovely spot for date night! What we ordered: Complimentary bread Appetizers: Foie Gras Torchon Tartare De Thon Le Soupe D'oignon Escargots Entree: Magret De Canard Carre D'agneau Steak Frites Dessert: Creme Brulee Caramel Souffle Glace You won't regret going!

What a wonderful place! My family of 4 had just arrived in the LES and, after exploring a bit, walked in on a whim at dinner time. I expected a long wait, but was seated right away. The chandeliers, the smells of the kitchen, the ambiance! We couldn't resist! My family will never forget this experience. We had an amazing time. The staff was attentive, and after a long day of travel we were rewarded with some beverages that were delightful. We started with our first escargot. This was a bucket list item for my wife and I, but my teenage son was the most blown away. We all tried and loved it, but with the extra bread that was brought he cleaned up every morsel of that delightful sauce! I got the lamb chops and out of three lamb experiences in NYC during this weeklong trip, this was the best. And that's saying something. I love lamb, and have had great lamb, but this was divine. My wife got the mussels and they were fantastic. There were a lot and we all got to have some. The Steak Frites didn't disappoint either. Really great sauce on the steak, and the fries were crispy and seasoned well. The other meal we got was a nice big fresh salad. Crispy lettuce and lightly dressed, just like we like it. Overall this experience exceeded every expectation. Don't delay getting here. Not only the restaurant but the entire neighborhood was exciting and fun. Not to be missed!

Came here on Sunday night around 6:30 with a reservation. The place was packed. Was asked to sit at the bar since our table was not ready. Waited about 35 minutes after our reservation for our table to be ready. So be warned if you are short on time or don't have patience. Ordered the la vie en rose, which was good but very sweet. My husband got an old fashioned, which he said had no cherry and a lot of ice. I also got the melon et basilic, which I would recommend to skip and had a lot of ice and very little alcohol. We got the French onion soup and escargots. The soup was cheesy on top and overall light. Escargot was very heavy on the garlic that I didn't really recognize what I was eating outside of that. The bread the came to the table was not cut through all the way, so that was a bit annoying to eat. I got the hanger steak, which was cooked nicely with thin fries. My husband got the duck which he enjoyed. The dessert was the creme brulee. It was average, not the best I had. Service: took awhile to get the check. Our waitress did make things slightly uncomfortable while using the pulsd certificate and was loud about all the exclusions next to our very close tables.

Although I would've preferred to have been seated away from a family with 3 loud, ill-behaved kids, it was still a nice cozy table. Selma L. was very knowledgeable and helpful with the menu and remained very available and checked in on us often throughout our meal. I knew I wanted the Escargots en Persillade(my favorites!), and we paired them with Mushroom&Ricotta ravioli, and the Branzino. Every dish was perfectly paired with sauces and flavors blended well together. The Branzino skin was perfectly crispy, the potatoes were a little softer than I'd personally like but were still tasty. We made sure to save room for dessert and I'm so glad we did. We tried the chocolate lava cake and the cheesecake and were gifted two glasses of dessert wine and truffles. Everything is made from scratch, in-house. The New York cheesecake stood out ahead of the lava cake but I would order both again. This restaurant is perfectly situated to accommodate you for a pre-show dinner, and offer discounted meals starting at 8pm-close. We'd definitely return to try other menu items, and enjoy another date night, albeit not surrounded by kids!!!

Putting the food aside (which was VERY good), the place is beyond charming... like walking into your nonna's living room- and the staff was welcoming. As for the food: everything is "perfect" in a simple, old school, traditional way. No trendy twists. This is a GOOD thing in my book. It has been years since Ive had escorgot that I loved, but this brought me back. I had almost sworn off of it. My steak au-poivre was cooked to perfection and green peppercorn sauce was sublime. The fries were basic but in a good, I dare say perfect, way. My gf had the sole and, altho she says it wasnt earth shattering, liked it as well. The soufle was a bit of a novelty for me but worth a try. This place is Old School New York at its finest. P.S. I cant stand liver or pate but my gf ordered the foie gras (which ive never had) and tho i resisted trying it, I finally did and loved it. I think that says something about the place. She said it was perfect.

We ordered a traditional gran marnier soufflé with our dinner order as it takes that amount of time to make it. I came for the duck confit. It was tasty with the right amount of crispy skin. My sister ordered the Moules Marinieres which I think was the winner. It came with fries and a few small dishes of green beans. The Buf Bourguignon was rich and hearty. I've been craving a soufflé, and I'm not an expert but I wish I hadn't poured all the sauce in as the mariner was fairly strong and almost overpowered the soufflé in flavor. Overall, happy to support a small mom and pop business. You have to call for reservations. No resy or open table.

There were only 2 other parties seated and we were seated immediately upon arrival. It's fairly dark inside and the decor reminds me a bit of New Orleans. I enjoyed the ambiance. The drinks were great! I had the cocobella while he had margaritas. The table bread was hot and fresh, so make sure they bring it to the table for you. We had the mussels for an appetizer, lamb chops and bass. EVERYTHING was excellent! The flavor of the broth for the mussels was Devine, so much so my husband used his bread to sop up all he could. The bass had great flavor and came with sautéed spinach that was well cooked. It initially looked like a small portion but turned out to be plenty. The lamb chops were cooked to the requested temp and seasoned well. We left no crumbs. This one is definitely worth a try!

This space felt larger than the other locations I've been to, while still keeping the same cozy, charming, and beautiful vibe that defines their brand. We were a party of three, and each of us ordered different sandwiches and pastries. I got the Katie's Chicken Sandwich, which is one of my absolute favorites and something I order almost every time I'm visiting the city. For pastry, I tried the Cherry Croissant Cube for the first time, and I was honestly speechless. It was incredibly flavorful, delicious, and truly made my day. I 100% recommend trying it. For drinks, I ordered the seasonal Cherry Elderflower Spritz. It was just okay compared to everything else, but not bad. Overall, Maman continues to be my go-to brunch place in NYC, and this visit reminded me exactly why.

Unnecessary confrontation over a 5-minute early pickup…read more I'm a regular Too Good To Go customer and have picked up bags from Maman before without issue. This visit was a frustrating exception. The app activated the swipe button shortly after 5PM -- which Maman and several other stores have recently started allowing as an early pickup signal. I went to the store accordingly. The young male Hispanic employee at the register refused to hand over my bag, insisting the pickup window didn't start until 5:15. All the bags were already packed and ready. There were no other customers in line. I tried to explain how the app works and that early pickup had been allowed here before, but he repeatedly cut me off. At one point I said "if you want to play by the book, so be it" -- meaning it as a neutral acknowledgment. He took offense, raised his voice, and kept repeating "I don't play, you play" in an increasingly hostile tone. I asked if he understood the expression. He just kept repeating "I don't play." When I asked to speak with a manager, he said there wasn't one. When I asked what a customer is supposed to do when there's a problem with an employee, he told me to come back tomorrow and talk to him. This was completely avoidable. The bags were ready. It was a 5-10 minute window, allowed by the app. The confrontation served no purpose. I noticed the review posted the day before mine mentions "poor customer service at the register" -- I suspect we encountered the same person. Maman has a good reputation worth protecting. I'd encourage management to review this interaction and make sure this particular staff is trained properly.

I snagged a seat on their upstairs patio, surrounded by the kind of older, well-heeled UES regulars that give the place such a quintessential NYC vibe. I went with the $35 lunch special, which gets you an appetizer and an entrée. For my app, the Escargots de Bourgogne- absolutely the star of the meal, I could've eaten a second order. The Crêpe Forestière for my entrée was lovely too, and I washed it all down with a lemonade. Everything was genuinely delicious. My one small gripe: I got charged for two lemonades, which stung a little given that (a) it's lemonade, and (b) the glass was on the petite side to begin with. Minor quibble, though. Other than that, it was a perfect NYC lunch, exactly what I was hoping for.

While the French Onion soup was still a stand-out dish, the painfully slow service detracted. There appeared to be a single waitress working. I didn't notice during my first visit if there were multiple servers, but the first time I did hear the waiter advise another table that the kitchen was behind and there would be a wait for food. (This didn't affect me since on my first visit I only ordered soup.) Same thing happened this time, and there was a significant delay between our soup/salad course and entrees. We were told the kitchen was backed up. this is apparently the norm. For appetizers, the French onion soup was a gold star dish. My friend had the goat cheese salad which she said was also very good. The Chicken Cordon Bleu was good, and a hard-to-find dish in NYC. While eating our entrees, the server never checked on how things were or if we needed anything. Once finished, we sat there for a long time waiting for our plates to be cleared, and finally had to "announce" that we were done and request our dessert (as we had ordered the prix fixe menu). For dessert we ordered the Dame Blanche and Profiteroles. I would recommend neither. The ice cream (in both) was poor quality, crystallized and not creamy. A real shame. In all, the meal too 2.5 hours due to the slow service. The soup remains fantastic. I'm downgrading my review to recommend this spot only for soup and salad and not a full, hours-long meal. For that, it's 5 stars, for a full meal a middling 3.
