Weekday lunch, we got right in and had a great experience. The homemade soup was very good, it comes with the sandwiches. The buffalo chicken wrap was very good, the chicken had just the right amount of crunch and it wasn't too spicy. The servers were very attentive and food came quickly. It is a great spot sitting inside or outside. Refills on coffee or iced tea are served as well as take away drinks upon request. We will be back. They also have an extensive coffee bar and cocktails. read more

Man, I miss having these in Florida. We are visiting Chicago and have such fond memories of Le Peep that we drove 30+ minutes out of our way for brunch, and we were NOT disappointed. We started off with the Gooey Buns. These are amazing english muffins covered in cinnamon and sugar with slivered almonds and toasted. I could literally eat 20 of these. They are served with a side of apples in a sweet sauce and (for some reason) cream cheese. I DREAM about these and have not been able to successfully recreate them at home. I had amazing crepes that were perfectly cooked with good crispy bacon and their version of breakfast potatoes. My dining companion got the 18 wheeler breakfast with awesome french toast, eggs and meat. Service was great and the parking seems to be easy behind the restaurant. I would easily drive 30+ minutes again for this, just wish you were back in Florida! read more

A nice surprise of a wonderful lunch and good service. I have passed by Le Peep on N/W highway many times and thought parking was going to be an issue. But they have parking right behind them. I had the burger and my wife had a wrap. Both were terrific! We'll my burger was not med/rare but the quality of the food was a pleasant surprise. We were there on a weekday so the place was pretty empty. I hope you will give it a try so they stay healthy. We want to eat there again when we're in Mt. Prospect. read more

Ordered through uber eats app to have food delivered. They must have stored my food too close to the stove or under a heat lamp while in the styrofoam container because the styrofoam container had been burnt/melted. There was also some green stuff on the cinnamon bun which I removed and photographed-not sure what it is. Lost my appetite. Very bummed because I used to love le peep. :( I spent over 20 dollars on food just to see it go to waste due to poor preparation. Make Le Peep great again, please :( Edit/Follow-up Le peep sent me a gift certificate and I finally got a chance to use it. The meal was great. The veggie omelet was filling and flavorful. My brother got something that looked very good and smelled delicious. Portion size was perfect. Attentive service. Thanks for making it right and delicious. I can't wait to go back. read more

An excellent breakfast stop no matter what you like to eat for breakfast. They have everything and they do everything well! My wife usually gets the Greek Goddess Omelet and I order a smoothie because their juices and smoothies are all fresh squeezed. In fact, their juices and smoothies are the best in this area. They're very reasonable, price wise, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. We love this place! read more

We recently sat outside with our dog at this restaurant and had excellent food and service. The sidewalk seating is noisy because there are trucks and trains along Northwest Highway but we appreciated that dogs were allowed. I had the power bowl with sweet potato, spinach black beans, avocado and eggs. The sweet potato was cubed and actually lightly crispy, and my poached eggs were perfectly cooked. My partner had a turkey panini that he said was very well done with perfectly toasted bread, melted cheese and nice real slices of turkey, not chopped and pressed meat Our server was attentive even though we were the only ones outside. Ordered from Grub hub, said it would be ready at 7:30. Got there around then and still waited more than 20 minutes. Bacon was burnt to a crisp. Wish i would have pictured the piece I gave to my dog. I can't believe someone would give that to a customer who tipped them ahead of time!! ordered the smoked salmon Benedict. Which I thought would come with smoked salmon. Instead, I received burnt cooked salmon. The potatoes weren't cooked at all. The first one I ate was cold and almost raw. Won't be going back there again. read more

I ordered Le Peep catering via ezCater and assumed I was getting food from the Evanston location. But they deliver all the way to Lincolnwood from here! Great service! Delivered at 11:30 instead of 12pm, which was a bit early, but the food stayed fresh until we ate closer to 12. The delivery guy was nice and set everything for us neatly. Butter and syrup packets were included as well as sugar (but no creamer) for coffee. Servewear, utensils, plates, and cups were also included even though I didn't order them - that helped a lot! The food was GREAT! Everyone loved the breakfast for lunch theme. My only complaint is there wasn't quite enough sausage and bacon, everyone got some, but it was so good that everyone wanted more! I estimated we'd have 12 people, so I ordered for 13 and I'm glad I did get just that little bit extra. Absolutely would order from here in the future, and all my coworkers are future Le Peep Evanston diners! read more

Wonderful experience today. Our server Theresa couldn't have been nicer or more helpful The hostess and cashier were also very kind and welcoming and appreciative of our business. The breakfast burrito was exceptionally good. My wife had a Chai tea that she loved as well as her entree which sadly I don't recall from memory. Le Peep is my favorite breakfast/brunch spot! Friendly and consistent staff are a really nice touch. Their food always hits the spot and just about everything on their menu is great! I usually get the hen pen.. awesome price for eggs, toast and hash browns. Their coffee is also a must. Their rewards/punch card is also beneficial. Love love love love this place. We went here on Mother's Day and it was very busy. They accommodated us quickly but the food took a very long time for both dishes to come out. My dish came out relatively quickly, but then my husband's took forever. The food was pretty good, but it was a little pricey for the amount of food that you get. I would still be willing to try it again on a less busy day. read more

Hmm, I'm always amazed when I discover a place we've frequented over the years that I somehow forgot to review. Le Peep - this is long overdue! Great breakfast & lunch spot with a lot of variety on the menu - something for everyone and enough things to drool over that you'll want to come back multiple times in a short span of time. Everything we've tried here has been quite good and the service quick & friendly. Cute decor & clean restrooms, too. If you end up parking in the back, there is a back entrance as well. And, when the weather is nicer, they do have some outdoor seating. read more

LOVE!!! This is a very nice, family-friendly, upscale breakfast/brunch place. The staff are super friendly and I always have great service. They squeeze the juice fresh and have a BAR! I highly recommend the beermosa- Blue mood + fresh orange juice + slice of orange = mom heaven :) The coffee here is pretty good- not the burnt/stale taste you typically get. I usually go for the Tostada Tango- two tostada shells with scrambled eggs and all the great stuff that goes with it! Sour cream, beans, cheese, avocado, chorizo... YUM! read more

First things first. They have booze. Their beermosa is tasty as well as their bloodies. We will venture here when in the area for their drinks and their brunch. They have great service and food. I also like the fact they have two outdoor seating areas for nice days. We tend to get a little loud when we have brunch and so does our daughter. They always accommodate. My friend and I were out in mount prospect running errands and needed a good place to get breakfast. We stumbled upon le peep. It looked cute so we walked in. The staff was friendly and our waiter was sweet. However, the food was another story. My friend ordered the "healthy scrambler." It came in a little skillet that was swimming in some gross liquid. We weren't sure if it was butter or what. Pretty nasty. I ordered the turkey club panini with waffle fries. The waffle fries were crispy but extremely bland and tasted freezer burned. The sandwich was hardly toasted. The turkey looked and tasted like it came out of a package. There was more mayo smothered on the sandwich than all the ingredients combined. I couldn't eat it. So basically I ate freezer burned fries for lunch. How appetizing. Needless to say, I won't be back anytime soon. read more

Been here a few times but finally found my dish! In previous visits I have gotten items that were fine but nothing to write home about, per say. However, The Torta Tango is delicious and won me over: simple but perfectly paired ingredients. Begins with a torta, then black beans, followed by eggs scrambled with chorizo (which was very fluffy and a good mild spice). A top that was fresh tomatoes, scallions, and avocado. It was served with a green salsa (great) and sour cream. Also the service was great (Monica was our server). I was there with my two daughters and she was super nice and engaging with both of them. My daughter got the jr chocolate chipper (chocolate chip pancakes) and a mini smoothie. The smoothie was a little icey but they extra water probably helped to water down the sugar in the smoothie. The pancakes were good but a little over done. I personally don't love pancakes with a lot of crust but maybe thats a flat top "perk." I got an extra pancake for my youngest and asked for strawberries on it. Some of the strawberries were either so macerated that they started to turn or just really over ripped. The pancake was massive and cake like. Fluffier than normal pancakes I would probably say. Generous portion sizes, ok prices (somethings are a little pricey), and good range (not a menu so massive you cannot decide but enough options to satisfy cravings) will keep us coming back. read more

We were seated by the man who, when we walked in was sweeping the floor. He sets the broom and dust pan aside...and picks up our utencils and menus (!). The waitress was nice. Food prompt. Nicely presented. The fish fry was good, the Buffalo chicken salad a bit too spicy. This would be a great dinner place! Close, nice help (with some hand washing) BUT the country music is too awful to enjoy a meal. read more

I think their new slogan is "Le Peep - It's not just for breakfast anymore"... or something like that. :-) This breakfast restaurant is trying to reinvent itself into a daytime and evening restaurant as well. it's added TVs (so you can watch 'the game'), more liquor (than just mimosas and bloody Mary's) and lunch / dinner menu items also. Their breakfasts have always been consistently good and plenty so I imagine the rest of their food will follow suit. The lunch item I had recently was fresh and good like all the other meals I've had there. Their transformation should be successful as so as people realize they're not closing at 2pm everyday. read more

Place is filled with smoke from the kitchen. You can't eat here without feeling like you're at a haunted house. It takes 1-1.5 hours to get your food. It's way overpriced for the amount and quality of food you get. Bacon is amazing. That's what the 1 star is for, otherwise not worth 0 rating. read more

I hadn't been here in quite some time. Seems this, like other establishments, needed to cut back to get by. Potatoes werent as plentiful- bacon was lesser quality. I rate the french toast and the mocha five stars. Other than that,exactly as three-stars states, a-ok. as the food is pricier than most of your other spots. So the eight of us got up only to find not one table for eight was set up in the bar area. Sad ...... So Our out of town guest one a foot surgical foot boot and me carrying my young grandchild walk out is total disbelief. (SHOCKER) We walked a quarter of a mile and had an excellent meal at Mago Grill at 115 Campell Street. The manager at Mago said thanks for coming and I said thank the manager at Eddie's. I highly suggest if you make reservations at Eddie's have a back up plan. The only reason they got a one star rating is because 0 or less was not an option.

There were seven of us and we all converged from Buffalo Grove and Vernon Hills. Jimmy D's doesn't come up on your normal burger place lists in and around the area, but we saw a post somewhere and knew we had to check this place out, especially if it ended up being across from the future home of the Chicago Bears. We'd probably end up hanging out there and wanted to make sure it was a good enough place to hang and be a part of the action, whilst not paying for said action. Anyhoo, we all pulled up to find a nice parking lot next to/behind the restaurant. It's a cool place with a couple entrances (one in the lot and the other from the street). It's a nicely adorned building and has the requisite sports decor on the inside with plenty of televisions to watch many games at once. There was plenty of seating for our group as it was quite empty on a Monday night and there wasn't any game of note when we were there. We called ahead letting them know our numbers and they accommodated us with a reserved table. They were attentive and constantly refilled out waters and sodas and brought more beer when needed/requested. The service was friendly and attentive. We were there for the burgers of which there are four options: the House burger, the Fried Egg Burger, the Mac Daddy, and a Black Bean burger. However, stipulations for being in our club is that you can only order a red meat-based burger. We did order the buffalo sauced wings as an appetizer to share. They were sauced nicely, not too hot, and quite good. I would definitely recommend getting them if you visit. I also ordered the cream of chicken soup. It was a perfect option for the cold night and I rank it among one of the better cream of chicken soup options in the suburbs. While not a sommelier of cream of chicken soup, I do rank it quite well: I think it matches Jameson's Char House for quality, thickness, and flavor. Mama clearly knows what she's doing with her soup. I opted for the Mac Daddy burger. It's prepared with: black angus beef, boom boom sauce, house mac n' cheese, bacon, fried onions, sliced jalapeños, toasted brioche. I normally don't opt for the special/signature house sauces as I've been burned before by these so-called "recommended" house sauces (I'm looking at you, Lucky Burger, with your terrible "dijonnaise" sauce - ugh, don't get me started on THAT sauce). However, I was told it's a hot sauce for the burger and figured it wouldn't overpower everything else on the burger. The mac n' cheese was a tad creamy, but so what, the bacon, fried onions, jalapenos, and boom boom sauce cut into the creaminess a bit and it worked. And it didn't overpower the flavor of the burger, which I thought it would, but somehow didn't. I really liked this burger, the bun held up, the bacon stayed crispy, and jalapenos and sauce added a nice kick but not overwhelmingly so. I would get this again. The sandwiches come with housemade fries or tots, but I know that if tots are offered, you can (generally) never go wrong with tots (I'd point out Puck's Pub but they closed and did the world a favor in doing so). Everyone generally liked their burgers and would return again. In our 5 point scale, Jimmy D's District got a 4.25. I can't speak about the lunch, because no matter what time of day, I always order breakfast. My favorites are the Granola Blueberry Pancakes, Pumpkin Pancakes, and the North Shore Omelet. The food and drinks actually feel like they are made by people who care. To the owners and staff, please keep taking pride in your work. And Baker's Square closed YEARS ago in SoCal. Missed their pies and baked goods! So imagine my (pleasant) surprise when I found this little place in Palatine! I decided to head there for a brekky on a cool May morning. Stepped in, saw all the breads, pastries, and pies along the front counters- wow. I was greeted warmly and seated instantly. My waitress came right away, and I ordered unleaded (decaf for those in the know). It came in a little pot, ala IHOP, and was really, really GOOD. Wow. Decaf has come a long ways from the Sanka days! I ordered the INN-CREDIBLE V.I.B. which allowed me to order 4 yummy items of my choice - I chose the french toast (yummy and spiced just right albeit w/room temp syrup- not a deal-breaker but notable), a strawberry crepe (totally awesome strawberries, but the crepe was a bit colder than expected); scrambled eggs (always a nice stalwart) and two turkey sausage links (as with the frenchie above, nicely flavored!). The ambience was modern, updated, and felt welcoming and (thankfully) a bit familiar. Brought back some good ol' memories even if only the Baker's Square part of the menu was just pies nowadays. But the Village Inn lives on! And that counts - and I'll return. You should check it out too if you enjoy a good brekky at a classic American diner!

The service was friendly and attentive although we were seated next to the kitchen so we overheard many of the staff's comments as they were going in and out of the kitchen. One of the waitstaff was clearly counting down the three hours left on his shift. The food was okay. While reviewing the menu you'll like notice the low prices. While that was nice to see you do get what you pay for. For 13 dollars and change I got the VIB breakfast where you pick four items from a few different categories. I chose scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, bacon and half a waffle. The portions were small and most of the food likely only needed to be reheated to be served. We are glad we gave Village Inn a try but will likely opt for a different place next time.

Note that there are several spots in the apartment lot reserved for Coco and Maple guests, which is key as it is situated towards the end of the downtown area. Whereas Coco and Blu is more cozy, this is definitely leaning more industrial and modern. They retain a similar eclectic vibe with wallpaper and mismatched furniture. Orders are placed at the counter, and this time around we went for avocado toast and a Nutella strawberry toast for my kids. Both delightful! While it was a nice day out, I will say I wish they air conditioning was a little bit better because they do at least keep the doors closed. There is seating outside however we chose to sit inside to get and stay cool. There's a quite a variety of seating options from couches and different chairs and communal tables or separate single tables We did each order a different latte for the bucket. The traditional quiche was absolutely delicious and brought out heated and warm. The plates are so super cute too with all of the floral feminine touches. While all the other reviews do state that this is pricey I will agree this is pricey for a coffee shop that doesn't serve a full meal. But I will say that I do support local small business so I'm OK with this. But how often will I come here knowing that the prices are quite high is probably maybe a few times a year at best I hope the menu continues to evolve and grow. I would definitely come back, but this is for sure. A treat not an everyday normal routine.

The restaurant had an inviting atmosphere, the decor was nice, and the service was friendly. Their menu had a good variety. I ordered their Carnitas Skillet and Orange Lemon Marmalade pancakes. I also had a lavender latte. The food and beverage were good in taste. I liked them. The portion size was good as well. We received good service and had a nice experience. Check them out.
