All of us have been here before, and we usually get the same things every time Kimchi dumplings - 6/5 This is a MUST try. These are probably my favorite kimchi dumplings in ktown. They are juicy and steamed to perfection. Maeun Seok Dwaeji Galbi aka spicy pork ribs - 5/5 Lee ga is known for their ribs, so definitely get one to try. I prefer pork ribs over beef ribs because it's fattier and more chewy. This is a big serving size, so better for a group to share. Mul Neang Myun aka cold noodles - 5/5 If you are getting pork ribs, you must get cold noodles. I love adding a lot of mustard and vinegar to make the soup a bit spicer and the acidity really helps to cut through the fat in the pork ribs. Their lunch specials are really good too. i wanted to come here for so long and i finally had the time to! the wait was long as expected but the food was good so i wasn't mad about it HAHA. the service is great and it's busy inside but i still didn't feel rushed to order or eat and get out asap which i appreciated. we ordered the cold noodles and the sullungtang and wow i was so pleasantly surprised! the cold noodles tasted different from other cold noodles i've had at other korean restaurants. it was slightly tangier and sweeter. the noodles were also made from potato starch so it was extremely chewy. the sullungtang was deep and rich and it came with glass noodles in it. the only thing i can say is that i wish there was more meat that came with the sullungtang! it literally came with 4 pieces of brisket haha... but still would definitely come back again to try their bibimnaengymyun next time! read more

TERRIBLE PLACE TO DATE, DINE, only if you want to grab a bite in a overcrowded, noisy, unpleasant restaurant. When we were waiting to get out of the restaurant the owner pulled my friend over when he was walking out, scolding us as an elder that we gave too little of a tip. He was yelling really loudly saying "so you guys dont have any money". First things first, tips were never a legal binding of customers, the amount is given according to the service one received. As a k restaurant, the appetizers in the beginning were yet the littlest and the simplest of all. Kimchi, pickled radish, and water boiled cabbage was all, and while dining, we found out other tables had more choices than we were given. Additionally, while serving food, the server constantly came between me and my friend while we were talking, just for the sake of convenience, even thought there is a wonderfully open seat right across from us. The while place was complete overcrowded, my arms has to be folded while eating, the place was filled with loud music and people yelling over each other just so the person sitting across will be able to hear them. The service and environment did not very much meet the standards of a restaurant charging such high the amount. I just want to say, if one was satisfied, 15-20% tip will be given as social norm, but i have never seen any single restaurant grabbing a customer with such rude matter, scolding and complaining for tips. read more

Lee Ga is a popular new Korean joint in the same busy strip mall as Kobawoo. It got big love from Eater early on as a place for Korean soup, but you'll also do well here if you want dumplings or noodles or a bubbling pot piled high with grilled meat. Hot tip straight from my Korean mom: Kobawoo closes on Monday, which makes Monday the best time to visit Lee Ga if you don't want to deal with hectic parking. Otherwise, the strip mall has a valet that once took my money to leave my car unlocked and stacked so far onto the sidewalk it was almost onto Vermont (I discovered this during a dinner at Kobawoo, when the valet left for the night and gave me my keys while I was still eating). Lee Ga seems like it has things figured out. The space is simple and appealing in a way that's more media-friendly than the average homestyle Korean spot. The Eater praise is printed out and posted in front, and you can even follow the restaurant on Instagram. Service is friendly, if not especially attentive, and dining in is a pleasant experience. The food is great, though some things are definitely better than others. The banchan spread is decent. I got cabbage with daenjang my first visit and mild green peppers with ssamjang the second, and those were both lovely. The cabbage and radish kimchi are both solid. The best things I've eaten here have been the mandu. Both the kimchi mandu and mul mandu are excellent, meaty and flavorful with thin, supple skins and a dipping sauce swimming with white and green onion. I'm also a fan of the naengmyun, both mul and bibim, which you can get in sets with the mandu. The cold buckwheat noodles are chewy and refreshing in both preparations, but I'd give the edge to the spicy bibim. The jaengban naengmyun is also pretty good, the noodles heaped over a plate of vegetables, beef, and raw fish, all of it in a spicy sauce. I've only tried one of the soups here and it wasn't my favorite. Probably my mistake getting sullungtang at a place that does anything other than sullungtang. It wasn't bad, but it didn't really rate against, say, Han Bat, where I usually get my sullungtang. The other disappointment was the seok pork spare rib, a dish of grilled pork for two served in a hot pot on a tabletop stove. The flavors were good, and I loved the way the bottom layer of potato softened and soaked up the spicy sauce, but the ribs themselves were a little tough and dry. The seok galbi was much better, with big hunks of soy-marinated beef short rib in a similar pot/stove set-up. I wonder if we just caught the pork on a bad day. I like Lee Ga enough to add it to my Koreatown restaurant rotation, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to try a new place with a lot of hits on a varied Korean menu. I had this spot on my radar as one of the newer restaurants in Koreatown that I've been wanting to try. I visited during prime lunch time. Everything on the menu sounds absolutely divine, and I love their assortment of Guk Bap. I got the LEE GA Gukbap, while my sister got the Yuk Gae Jang. Their soups are definitely spicier than most soups at Korean restaurants in the U.S. Definitely has a kick to it. The Guk Bap was honestly a bit to salty for my liking, so we asked them for some extra broth and I added it in to balance it out. It has a really strong tomato flavor. It was comforting and savory, but the saltiness was overpowering, so next time, I'd probably opt for a sullungtang or lighter broth. The service was great, and all the ladies were friendly and nice. Decided to give this spot a try to see how it stacks up to my fav naengmyeon spot. My friend and I both ordered the naengmeyon and beef dumpling combo (the combo comes with 7 dumplings). We also decided to order the seok galbi, which comes in a pot with sliced potatoes, mushrooms, and shredded green onion. The naengmyeon itself was okay, but I prefer the thicker brown noodles than the thinner translucent noodles. Broth was okay with plenty of crushed ice. The highlight I'd say were the beef dumplings as they were filled perfectly without being overstuffed and steamed well. As for the seok galbi, the presentation was quite nice, but I felt that a lot of the pieces had a lot of gristle to it and the price was a bit steep as well for what you got. Service was on point and very friendly. Valet parking, but I'd highly suggest taking a few minutes to find street/meter parking on the side streets as the valet can get a bit of a mess. Overall, a decent spot for dumplings and okay naengmyeon. Might have to come back again and try out their guk bap/tangs that they offer as well. read more

They specialize in naengmyun and seolleongtang (ox bone soup)** If you're coming in a group, I recommend ordering from the first menu that has soju/beer and basically is a pre-fixe menu. I highly highly recommend doing a family style meal so you can have a taste of everything. You can get different cuts of meats in savory beef broth and yuk gae jang AND soju for under $100. That's pretty awesome. Their mul naengmyun is DELICIOUS. They have a special imported noodle maker from S.Korea. The bibim version is spicy as hell. Order with caution. The galbi tang is amazing. Seok Galbi comes with its own portable gas burner, and an amazing amount of scallions. Banchan is out of this world. I love the daikon kimchi and scallion kimchi. Want to avoid crowds? I was looking for a good neang myun (cold noodle) spot in K-town and tried so many various places like the famous Cho sun BBQ, Chun Kiwa, ham heung, yuchun, jinsol, yuk dae jang, ssam and more. by far, I personally think Leega has the best Mul naeng myun ever! It was around 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, and half of Leega was already full with customers having their meals. And I noticed practically every table had this stone griddle pan with ribs on a portable stove and mandoo. I wanted to eat my Naeng Myung with Galbi, so I asked a server what everyone else was eating, and she said it was either Seok-galbi or Seok-daiji galbi (pork ribs). I enjoy naeng myun with beef, so I got Seok-Galbi. Soek Galbi was excellent. It's simply cooked (grilled) Korean style soy sauce marinated galbi placed on a hot griddle pan with potatoes and onions on the bottom of pan, bite size galbi sal on top of Potatoes and onions. Then the seok galbi is topped with shredded green onions. If you want K-BBQ but are in a hurry or lazy, why not get this seok gal-bi from Leega. We finished the entire seok galbi dish, even all meats off 2 long galbi bones and potatoes! Leega's dishes are not only delicious, but I can sense that despite rising costs, it looks like Leega uses good ingredients without cheating and dishonesty, and that they cook with a sense of mission and sincerity as chef. We came on a Tuesday night and this place was packed, but we were seated within 10 minutes. We decided to try their spicy noodle and kimchi dumpling combo as well as their Lee Ga Gukbap. Personally their kimchi dumplings were pretty average for me - the dumpling skin was a little tough. Their spicy noodles were so refreshing especially with the LA heat. Great flavor with some potato and onion slices under to absorb the fat and marinade. It's served on a stone dish on a stove, so do be careful. We also ordered the pork ribs (similar in style to hamji park). Although tasty, hamji park still reigns Supreme. Definitely still worth ordering here though. The kimchi mandu, and Beef mandu were amazing. They look freshly made and tasted great! Definitely another dish that will bring me back. We also tried the cold noodles and spicy cold noodles. Both were decent, but definitely not the best I've had. This is a good filler if you're ordering only one galbi for a table of 4, but if you're in a party of 2, the galbi and mandu will likely be enough food. Service was quick and welcoming. One of many Koreatown spots with very flavorful dishes. Our Korean buddy was intrigued as the Seok Pork Spare Rib (39.99) since it's usually done with beef. This is enough for two people and absolutely delicious. The ribs were tender and juicy. Though for the price, I was hoping they'd give enough for 3. My partner got the bibim neangmyun (15.99), but he said it was forgettable. Not that much protein and it's such a common dish that it didn't really stand out as unique. I love the simplicity of the space and the service was efficient (incredible, really, given that one person was doing the entire dining room). The food is, to my palate, hit and miss. A couple of the noodle dishes were simply one-dimensional (the primary flavors being corn syrup and gochujang). Others (that I didn't write the names of--sorry!) were very good. I would most definitely come back here to try other things and take a little more time asking questions about the food. I've heard good things about this place, but was a bit disappointed in the food. Upon walking in, it seemed to serve solely Koreans, so I came in with a little bit of a higher expectation, assuming that the locals like to eat here. We were treated incredibly well, which is always a huge plus, but when it came down to the food, my mul naengmyun, or cold noodles, was disappointing and extremely bland. There was not much of a taste, besides ice. The combo I had gotten, however, came with a couple of galbi ribs. These were good and super flavorful. It was unfortunate because I was trying to maximize the meat on the ribs in order to give my noodles any flavor. I will admit that for the price you're paying the portions are pretty big, but the lack of flavor in the noodles didn't deem that to be worth the price. If I come back, I would definitely give their other items a chance. I probably would just not recommend the cold noodles. read more

Everything I've tried on their menu never disappoints & I saw recently they now sell their kimchi/radish kimchi in 32oz & dumplings(frozen). By far they have the best kimchi I've ever had.
