I ordered the medium boneless sweet and spicy chicken. When we got the box, I was shocked by how much chicken we got. I loved the sweet and spicy sauce; it is a little bit on the spicier side. However, the chicken wasn't crispy. We ate it immediately after we got it so it wasn't sitting in the sauce for long but it wasn't crispy which was disappointing. I do like that the boneless pieces are big so it's a good ratio of chicken meat to the breading/sauce. If they were crispy, they would have been perfect. I tried Left Wing twice since HMart opened: on opening day, and once more three days later during theirmaiden weekend, when I dined with my friends at the HMart food court. On the first day, the chicken portions for the Half & Half order were quite generous because they were in shapes similar to chicken drummettes. I was originally going to order Honey Garlic chicken, however that flavor wasn't available since they just opened. Instead, I ordered the original flavor and Sweet & Spicy. I took this order to go since HMart SF was hella crowded on opening day. I tried it at home and both chicken flavors were quite crunchy. The sweet & spicy was not too spicy (thankfully because I'm allergic to large quantities of chili peppers) and I observed that it was sweeter than spicy. The original flavor was crispy but the chicken inside was kinda dry. However, the first try didn't discourage me from inviting my friends to try it with me on the following weekend. That weekend, we ordered a Half & Half order of the House Special and Sweet & Spicy. I'm trying to be understanding with the fact that they went sold out during the previous days, however the portions drastically changed when they only had boneless chicken that day. In my opinion, the chicken portions were reduced by half compared to the drummettes on the first day. The House Special was pretty spicy, in which I only tried a few bites due to my allergies. Instead, my two friends helped me consume that flavor. However, I noticed some inconsistencies with the Sweet & Spicy chicken. This time it was much sweeter that it tasted very similar to Panda Express' Orange Chicken. It tasted too familiar that it was not originally like the first day. I even got more disappointed that their side portions on the Half & Half order are for only one person. Yes, you may select upto 2 sides, however the side portions are really small for an overpriced meal deal. For example, the macaroni salad tub is only for one person. The fries are overpriced since they charge it for an extra dollar to the meal, and the size is similar to a Happy Meal size at McDonald's. That same day, the cashier misheard me when I requested a side of coleslaw, but gave me steamed rice. Excuse me, coleslaw does not sound like rice and coleslaw is not rice. Aigoo! Here are my suggestions to significantly improve Left Wing Chicken's quality and service: Next time, please post updated signs daily on which flavors, chicken options and sides are currently available at your location. Please make sure to know the difference between rice and coleslaw. Make your chicken crispier and increase the portions for the boneless chicken. Please maintain the quality of your sauces so that it does not taste like your indirect competitors. Lastly, please increase the portions of your sides on the Medium, Half & Half, 3 flavor and Large orders. Be sure to know how to match the side portions based on how many people will eat these per chicken order. A Half & Half Chicken order for approximately $28 (tax included) does not equal 2 side orders for one person. No hard feelings: I really expect that Left Wing Chicken at HMart improves their quality, quantity and service. read more

I always go to Left Wing when I'm at H Mart just because my little brother is a huge fan! I went on a Sunday afternoon and was able to find parking easily in their parking lot. The security guards are now checking vaccination cards before entering the food area. And ordering is completely contactless at Left Wing unless you are planning on paying with cash. There's a touch screen you can use at the counter to order and than you can use the card's chip or contactless to pay. Once you insert your phone number, they'll text you your receipt and will also text you to let you know that your order is ready for pick up! We ordered the medium original boneless chicken. It usually comes with one side but they gave us two sides this time! With a $1 upgrade for two fries I ended up paying $16+ tax. We waited exactly 15 minutes for food and was fortunate to find a table to sit at. The chicken was fresh, hot, and crispy while our fries were cold. It was sitting out while the chicken was being made. I honestly wish we were able to order a small or medium without sides. It's been several days since grand opening, what's the problem? Take it off the menu if it's not available. Friday around 5pm the wait was at least 30 minutes. Saturday around 3pm the wait was around 15 minutes. I hear them tell other customers that certain flavors are now not available. I'm always a bone-in girl but they tell me that they use chicken thighs for boneless option so I decided to order a small size chili soy garlic boneless -- $10.99 Smell is truly intoxicating. Taste however was nothing special. Not very spicy. Definitely tender enough. Outside had a nice crunch without being overly battered. Right amount of wet sauce without drowning the chicken. I would say this is an average place but don't expect outrageously good Korean fried chicken from here. I rarely sweat from eating spicy food, but you could see little droplets forming on my nose. That's when you know it's good. If you're scared, go with the mild. The fries were perfectly crispy as well!! Overall, I really enjoyed my meal. The only downside was that it took over 40 min to get our meal (and we had to complain). They're pretty busy, so i get it. This would have been 5 stars hands down but taking at least 2 off due to their lack of attention/quality control. Will be more than happy to share a follow-up if the issues get resolved/addressed. The chicken here is really delicious and I'd recommend their boneless chicken. Aria used to be my top contender for boneless fried chicken and after having Left Wing, I've switched. Often the debate has been to fry chicken bone-in to keep the moisture and rarely are there places that can maintain moisture with boneless chicken, resulting in dried stringy chicken meat. But you don't get that here - It's fried perfectly and still super juicy. We've had the honey butter garlic and soy chili garlic so far. Would recommend crispy original to keep it simple and the honey butter garlic if you want something with a bit more umph. I'm on the fence with the soy chili garlic but if you're looking for something closer to Thai flavors - get this one. The chicken sando is basically the same as the boneless fried chicken, but in a larger piece with slaw between two buns but the buns sog up easily so we ate this sando with a fork and knife at which point this turned into the standard fried chicken with a side of bread. Personally, I'm still a fan of The Bird because the sandwich holds itself together nicer. It's fine though because it's still good chicken. I like their fries - it reminds me of Mcdonald's fries in some way and I like Mcdonald's fries, ha! The big problem: Would appreciate it if someone from management can address this issue. Per the food review above, I love it and have ordered twice in the last two weeks. However both times, all the sides that were selected WITH the main were missing. I ordered from DoorDash for delivery two weeks ago and got a half order of chicken, which includes one side so I got the mac salad at an additional cost (unless you get rice or cabbage mix, it will not be an additional cost) and then a separate item of fries however the mac salad never arrived. Luckily I was able to contact support for a refund. This week, I ordered thru Yelp a large fried chicken, which includes two sides and got fries and a mac salad at an additional cost again. Then there was an option for extra sides, so I added pickled radish and another mac salad at the extra price, totaling 4 sides (2 mac salads, french fries, and pickled radish) and then a separate item of fries. This time around it was a pickup so I went in, got my stapled paper bag, and went home. All 4 of the sides that were under the large fried chicken order were once again missing except my separate order of fries. Reached out to Yelp/Grubhub customer support to get another refund. Wondering if others are experiencing the same issue - is it the kitchen's fault or is it the person packaging the food? It clearly states on the receipt stapled to my bag the contents of the order. I can't control delivery because the folks picking up are going to assume the contents are there. Even when I came in for pick-up the second time around, the paper bag it came in was stapled so I didn't open it until I got home. Now, I know better to just open it in person to ensure the contents are there. Might come off as rude to the clerk but...at this point, what else can I do? But someone tell me - shouldn't the store be responsible for checking the contents with the receipt before releasing it to the customer? If the receipt didn't list the sides, then I'd recommend someone reviewing all of the online apps to ensure there are NO CHECKBOXES for sides to be included - why have that option if you're going to get charged extra for receiving nothing? Luckily the online apps have made it easy to get a refund but if they didn't offer it, this might as well be a scam. On a separate note, I ordered from a completely different restaurant the other day - they were training a new hire and they were about to just hand me my order until one of the other workers stopped him and told him to check the order before handing it over and explained how it would result in a larger issue if this step was missed.
