Unassuming from the outside but they serve a solid egg and cheese, love that he asks if we want salt pepper ketchup hot sauce. Exactly what you want out of a breakfast sandwich. The guy was super friendly too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like the vibe in there as well, pretty cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not too much seating but I think most people order to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

HANDS down the best breakfast sandwich EVER! Not to mention Chris and Christian make you feel like you're at home and are such great people. It's been family owned for decades and is a hidden gem in JC. They do jam sessions the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month from 4pm - 10pm. Crowd usually arrives around 6pm! Go check them out for an egg cheese and avocado (salt pepper ketchup) on the most amazing Portuguese roll that they bring in each morning fresh. Soooo good!

Legal Grounds rides again! Father and son duo Chris and Christian have resurrected this local breakfast sandwich institution in Jersey City by St. Peter's Prep, which had closed down in the early days of the pandemic. Serving up the area's most reasonably priced cups of Joe and breakfast sandwiches, I was so happy to see them open again. Nothing beats a breakfast sandwich with fried eggs, gooey American cheese, and the meat of your choice (or two in my case | sausage and bacon!)

When I walked in, I noticed a sign saying they were voted #1 in a blind taste test for their chocolate chip cookies. I was skeptical and honestly assumed this might be one of those hyped-up social media spots . But I figured, why not? I decided to get the chocolate chip cookie along with the Maple Freeze, a slushy-style coffee drink. The Maple Freeze was pretty good! It wasn't overly sweet, which I really appreciated, and it was a nice caffeinated treat during this 91° heat wave. But THE COOKIE... I ate the chocolate chip cookie when I got home without even warming it up, and it was incredibly delicious. It was perfectly gooey on the inside and genuinely one of the best chocolate chip cookies I've had. Dare I say, better than Levain Bakery cookies?! I'm so glad I gave it a chance because the cookie hype is actually REAL. It's not just another overhyped social media spot--the cookie is truly that good. I'll definitely be coming back the next time I have a nail appointment.

The Jeju Green Tangerine Matcha honestly just tastes like a tangerine selter drink but in the best way, because I don't typically enjoy seltzer or carbonated beverages. I really enjoy the flavor and the carbonation isn't too strong, probably because I brought it home to drink. I don't really taste the matcha but I would definitely still order this again. 2. Matcha Einspanner. This is my first time having an Einspanner so I have no idea what I was expecting but this is DELICIOUS. It's so silky and smooth and the TASTE is just right up my alley. The matcha is light but you can still taste it. Absolutely, would drink this all the time if I could. 3. Purple Sweet Potato Latte. This. This. Omg, why haven't I tried this sooner?! The first sip and initial taste, I almost tasted nothing, just milk. And then all of a sudden, there's an explosion of flavor in your mouth. As a sweet potato lover, I was in heaven. I have absolutely no words for this drink, just try it. 100/10 recommend. This is probably my favorite one out of the 3 that I bought. I went around ... 2:45PM on a Friday and most of the seats were taken, if I remember correctly. There were a decent amount of seats and the space was decent. I liked the minimal aesthetic they had for the design of the interior. Not to forget, the staff at the register was absolutely wonderful, she answered all my questions, she's so sweet. I think I'm disappointed that I haven't tried this place sooner. Y'all get out of your comfort zone and try the Purple Sweet Potato Latte !! Or if not, just try this place out. I will definitely be recommending the Purple Sweet Potato Latte to all my family and friends.

While it was a fun and unique drink, I probably should have opted for something else. The topping was literally like actual tiramisu rather than just tiramisu flavoring, and it felt like there was more ice and tiramisu than latte. Personally, I would have preferred more of the tiramisu flavor without the full tiramisu texture mixed into the drink. That said, it was an interesting concept and I'm glad I tried it. I'd definitely be open to coming back and trying another latte on a future visit.

It happened to be 787 Coffee which I have visited plenty of times on the island and enjoy. With excitement and in Spanish I tell the cashier that I was happy to come across this place as I have tried them out in PR. How is it that this "jibara" apparently from Maricao, spoke to me in broken English while I am talking to her in our native language, total fail. Anyhow, I ordered the coquito hot latte with an extra shot of rum and oat milk, fine, I paid $11 for a very small coffee. Now what I can't believe is that the quesito pastry was $8. I really wanted it but it was not until I paid that I then noticed the price. I sat to eat it while I waited for my name to be called as mentioned by the cashier. I walked around looking at everything, the music very loud and hard for people sitting to have conversations, the place is very colorful and with many PR sayings, however the place also feels very Americanized with the music and layout. I still awaited my name to be called minutes later, but nothing. I approached the cashier, who was just standing there, to ask about my coffee and she wasn't able to tell me so she asked the barista steps away from her. He pointed to a cofre sitting on their counter, it had my name, and when I pointed out that I was waiting for my name to be called, she shrugged her shoulders and smiled like she didn't care. The coffee by now was not all that hot, I never tasted any rum or coquito flavor and felt I wasted my time at this place. What's more upsetting is that I left a nice tip for a service that was not provided. They couldn't even bring the coffee ti my table once they realized it was sitting there and they forgot to call my name. You can find better service elsewhere.
