I have stopped in several times since this place opened. As time has gone by it has turned more into a drinking place than eating establishment. I prefer the patio area with heaters instead of being inside because when it gets crowded hard to get around the place. With kids it is nice to have a good place to eat but when alcohol is around it can really change to ambiance of the place. Lemmo's Grill has my business Mon-Thur. Let's face it; Southern California is a culinary desert riddled with bad chain restaurants cranking out massive quantities of industrial food. As little as I go there these days, I still dread the lack of good restaurants and just abhor the huge quantities of bad food that pass as fine dining. Lemmo's Grill is that special place where a great menu and fresh ingredients meet to provide a wonderful dining experience. Ironically, it is the chain restaurant mentality that makes it so difficult one-off establishments such as this to survive in So-Cal. The service at Lemmo's is exceptional and very personal and all of the meals I have had there have been terrific. I only visit Moorpark occasionally to check up on a property but I always make it a point to eat a Lemmo's and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend. read more

Haven't been here in awhile, and was sure a disappointment. Service was EXTREMELY SLOW tonight! A simple dinner for 2 took forever! It was actually the talk of the restaurant, all the patrons were making jokes about it, order today Friday, you might have by Wednesday. The waitress said we were lucky, some have been waiting LONGER than us for their dinner!?! What's the problem? The boss is away, the mice will play? Finally decided to try it after living in Moorpark for 20 years. Was disappointed. Needed to keep asking for water refills, asked for butter and was given one slab. Asked for more butter, given one slab. Asked for more butter given one slab..really?! Food portions were VERY small. Side salad was a few bites. Ordered flank steak pasta, small dish and could've made it at home. Same with other two entrees ordered. Nothing special at all. Calamari appetizer was just OK. Dipping sauce was heavy oregano flavoring. All in all the three of us walked away with the same experience..food eeehh, not much of it, and on the pricey side. We went in April for a Bday stop and loved it. We thought the atmosphere was perfect for a local classy stop. Not too pretentious but not overly casual. There wasnt too much loud music to speak comfortably with company. The servers were attentive enough but not to bothersome. The food was excellently prepared. We had steaks that were prepared perfectly, someone in our group had pasta with shrimp that had not been overcook and the fish was fresh. They had a nice array of beers on tap and other beverages. I read here that some felt the menu was all over the place, I personally didnt mind that as much as I thought the appetizer menu was just a little lacking....we ended up with popcorn chicken and it was wonderful, which I'll admist sounds cheesy, even as I write it but they werent like chicken nuggets or anything. They accomodated special adjustments to the meal and while we paid full price for our last meal, I was excited to find them on restaruant.com. We're going back tonight! read more

One of my biggest pet peeves is paying for bad food...I really can't believe this restaurant is still in business...first of all the decor and ambiance is appalling there are horrible water stains on the ceiling it looked like they didn't vacuum in days the linens looked dirty...the food was unappetizing...flavorless...and lacked passion...it really just seemed like they microwaved the food before bringing it out...the chicken didn't even seem like it was all the way cooked...our dinner was disturbed by the random Moorpark barflys, that wanted to hear themselves talk about nonsense. Yes this is a small neighborhood bar/restaurant. With that comes amazing personal attention, a friendly smile when you walk in and yes sometimes an imperfect day. If you want Mastros then go there. Mastros is one of my favorites too. But if your looking for a low key friendly place where food and drinks are consistntly good, reasonably priced and you are made to feel like family, then Lemmos is a great choice. read more

Well as a long time customer what can I say the food is good, but the menu is getting tired and old. It's time for a menu up grade. The spinach salad with grilled shrimp was worth the price, my wife ordered the Italian salad she said it was ok, The creamy jalapeño soup seemed watered down. The customer service here is awesome! We stopped by July 3 with my daugther. I think it was the owner that was behind the bar at night, very nice. If a place doesn't have good customer service, it doesn't matter how good the food is. They definately went above and beyond with their customer service tonight! read more
