Lemongrass has been recognized as everyone's go to Thai restaurant since I was about 15 & even came for my 16th birthday 7 years ago. I believe the management has changed so it's not exactly how I rememeber but an upgraded version! The drinks were so beautiful to look at. The bartender needs a raise! We got the special drinks: Watermelon Margarita & the Pina Colada. 10/10! Make sure you order either one! For the appetizers, we had the fried wings with a sauce & the fried calamari. We give the wings a 7/10. The calamari is very crunchy & the sweet chili sauce is amazing per usual so I'd give it a 7/10 as well. For the mains, we got the pork ribs (my go to entree for years) which was amazingly plated, grilled, & sauced so 10/10 all around. I got the "Duck Sam Rod" which is duck with the tamarind garlic sauce which was amazing. The duck was crispy & juicy all at once so 9/.5! Lastly, we got the fried ice cream for dessert. I honestly didn't enjoy this as much as I did everything else mainly because of the thick breading around the ice cream. I think it could be more light & crunchy. However, it was wonderfully plated & the ice cream was delicious. All in all, the remodeling of this restaurant is one of the bests I've ever seen. There was a lot of thought out into it obviously. The first thing I absolutely must talk about is the ambiance of this place. You first see the outdoor tent and the twinkle lights with roses, and you know it's going to be a fulfilling dinner experience. Walking in was like walking into this insane colorful explosion, but at the same time it was so calming. The restaurant had this insane dragon mural on the wall, and there were also roses everywhere inside!! I absolutely fell in love with restaurant the moment I walked in. My friend and I shared these veggie spring roll appetizers that were really refreshing! The veggies were delicious, and it came with 3 different dipping sauces. I got the chicken pad thai for my main dish, and my friend got the tofu pad thai. It was actually so so filling, and I ended up taking half of it home. Two meals for one pay! We ordered the Crab Rangoon and the Lychee Shrimp for starters, along with the Pina Colada & Margarita both the drinks and appetizers were very savory and my favorite part of the meal!! For entrees my friend had the Udon Kee Mao with Chicken looked delicious to me and she really enjoyed it! I had the Tom Yum Creamy Lemongrass Thai Ramen with Shrimp...good enough dish but I was really hoping it would be a bit more creamy. We also had sticky mango rice for desert and that was also quite nice. Our overall experience was great the only critique I have is that the service could have been a bit better. Made a reservation for 2 on a Saturday night. It was pretty busy so I definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time if you're coming on a weekend. My friend and I ordered the curry puffs to share as an appetizer. Comes with 4 and they were perfectly crispy and a good amount of flavorful filling. It came with some cut up cucumber, tomatoes, and red onion and a tart, vinegar(?) based sauce on the side, which complimented the puffs really well. We also ordered the khao moo dong (pork belly, sausage, boiled egg, sauce on rice) and mango shrimp (crispy breaded shrimp on top of stir fried vegetables and a mango sauce). I subbed white rice for sticky rice ($2.50 extra) but was worth it in my opinion. The sticky rice was coconut-y, warm and fresh. Both dishes were very large portions, could've just shared 1 between 2 people. The pork belly was flavorful and crispy. They didn't skimp on the shrimp either. There were around 6-7 pieces and they were pretty large too. The sauce was good, not too sweet or sour. The stir fried vegetables added a nice fresh element. We both ate half our entrees and took the rest home for leftovers. We enjoyed all of the food we got and for how big the entree portions were, the prices were quite fair. Said it contained Chinese broccoli but had a few pieces mixed of Chinese and American broccoli. The sauce was super watery and this was COLD. -Grilled Salmon - veg had no seasoning whatsoever. I also don't like leaving bad reviews on someone's business, but I felt basically scammed after ordering from this place. We ordered on a Saturday night a variety of dishes to try (total bill was $80 with tip!!) I couldn't believe it when we received the delivery. Food didn't look appealing at all, however I thought, let's give it a try, maybe it tastes good... WRONG!!! I honestly do not consider myself picky person and this was one of the worst dishes I've had in a while. The pork belly baos were literally like a rock (the bao which is supposed to be soft and spongy?!!) was hard as a rock!!! Flavor was completely dull. Then I tried the pad Thai, how difficult is it for a pad that to taste bad right?! Well, let me tell you, worst pad Thai I've tasted in my life. Dry noodles, overcooked and the sauce didn't even taste like pad Thad. My husband tried the mango chicken and it was completely average, nothing tasty special. Came on a Monday evening around 6 pm, slight crowd but was able to get a table for 6 people without a reservation. We ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer and two cocktails, Gomain and Sangria. The fried calamari was unfortunately underwhelming, the portion size was small compared to the price we are paying. The batter, however, was very crisp and salty! Gomain was almost like a strawberry mojito and it was absolutely delicious. The visual of the drink was cute as well as they add in a small bottle of Bacardi with it. The sangria was slightly sweeter but still a gem! I ended up getting the Tom Yum Creamy Lemongrass Thai Ramen with grilled chicken. I loved the broth especially on a cold day. It was very hearty and full of flavor. I could have gone without the grilled chicken or switched to another portion but overall would recommend this dish for its simplicity. My friend got the mango shrimp which came out better than expected. The shrimp was fresh and not frozen, the batter on the shrimp was also great too! Since we were a party of 6, 20% tips was already added to our bill. Their service was alright as sometimes it was hard to flag someone down. I had a fantastic meal at Lemongrass last night and I can see myself frequenting here if I lived nearby. This spot has been on my radar for a while since I'm a big fan of Thai food, and also on my friend's radar because they serve halal meats. We got mocktails, which essentially tasted like juice without the alcohol and the presentation of the drinks were incredible! The appetizers were delicious and if I had to pick one, I would say order the Lychee Shrimp. As for the main entrees, we got dishes with halal meats. The beef was too tough for me in the Chiang Mai Mee but other than that, I loved the curry used for this dish. As for the Siam Chicken, I loved that it was served on a sizzling plate and, although it looks simple, it was very flavorful. I think you can skip on the dessert if you are full at this point from trying all their other stuff but the fried cheesecake was a pleasant surprise. I thought it would be very "heavy" since it's literally fried cheesecake, but the crispy exterior with a warm cheesecake interior worked really well. The service was amazing, the wait staff always checking in on us and giving us napkins (haha we were making a mess!). And if you are a sucker for a spot with good food with an amazing interior, this is a must try spot! read more

On a rainy Sunday while parked on Court Street, awaiting a friend, my eyes caught the yellow, green and black colors I know from the Jamaican spots in Jamaica. Two customers inside at a time and luckily I slipped in as two exited. As I gaze down into the display, the steam was billowing like a gambling and showboat upon the mighty Mississip. From two backward paces behind her came fresh refills coming in, large pots being scrubbed down in a dish pit on the other side -- and back a bit was the back of the business. A small space with a lot of joy inside, joy in the present moment, joy in the trays, joy in their faces. So when I inquired as to a menu -- tisk tisk, it wasn't that kind of place. It was a place to be shown and explained after the big white towel swept across the display glass revealing the stewing, steaming and brazing. For Mama, it was the fried chicken, steamed cabbage and deep green collards for that nice bitter bite and sits up just so pretty upon the fluffy white rice. (Sorry about the no picture) For yours truly I went curry goat over brown rice and peas and once it was handed off, I gained a new found respect for those circular tins with the clear plastic tops capacity to hold in and keep form. My meal looked like the lower half of ship in The Poissidon Adventure when the engine room blew. I'll be eating off that single order for a few days like Homer and his sandwich, taking it to work, taking it to the couch and rolling thunder isn't running amuck in the lower chamber of the belly either.
