I've been going to Lenny's Sandwiches at the new place that opened on Park Place in the Financial District. I am a fan of their H4 (aka fatty sammich, in my own mind). It is made with a heaping mound of fresh sliced turkey and pastrami and then topped with cole slaw, russian dressing and cheese. It's so big that I can only eat half at a time. That's what she said! The sandwiches are fresh due to the fresh ingredients. I like that the hero version of the H4 only sets me back about $10.50 which is a deal in these parts. I highly recommend. I've been wanting to try other sandwiches but this is so good that I'm afraid to venture away from it and be disappointed. read more

Well went into the store and if you have any food allergies don't eat the this chain. The reuse food that customers don't want even if opened. Today I watched them just take the cheese off a sandwich for dairy allergic customer and try to just give it back with the same bread and lettuce, even though the customer asked for new and did order and have a recipe that said no cheese. Made the mistake of trying this place as a ny bagel experience. Had Lenny's for the first time today. I was confused at first since there's 3 places you have to go to to finally get your order. The staff here don't seem friendly and in a bad mood as if they don't want to be there. (Maybe it was the rain) However they did do their jobs and were quick. Besides that everything else was great. Very spacious and clean. I ordered the Pastrami with rye bread and American cheese. It was veryyy good and hit the spot. Way better then subways for sure! I don't know what just happened here. We ordered a couple soups, no one on the soup line. I watched the really friendly guy who works the hot food section pour both into cups, and seal the top with a lid. This is where it gets good. Instead of handing us the soups, he logs it in and we get a receipt to pay up front, and a beeper device that will go off when ready. Huh? And you couldn't hand us the soup because? It's completed, with a lid. As far as I'm concerned that soup is ready to be handed off to us. So we paid for the soups, went back to hot food pick-up section and waited for our beepers to go off. About a minute later they did. The difference with what we could have received earlier, or what we received now, was that the individual soups were now in tiny paper bags with a spoon inside. So we placed the soups into a bag that we received when we paid and went back to the office. Although I don't agree with it, I can understand following this system if I'm waiting for my food to be prepared - while it's being prepared I can use that otherwise lost time waiting around to make the payment. But not in this case. Soups were fine, the staff is always friendly, but the soup ordering system is very flawed and overly complex for reasons I can't begin to understand. Salads are great, but similar to the soup system above, which demonstrates an inability to think outside the box, you can't mix ingredients when they are set. I wanted to get a Mandarin salad that comes with grilled chicken switched to buffalo chicken. Same price point, but they are not allowed to switch. I even offered to pay an upcharge. No go. Not a bad place, just poorly managed. There must a play book they are not allowed to stray from. read more

He took my phone call on a presumably busy day for take out orders (rainy day), and gave me an exhaustive list of all of my drink and dessert options. If you like the process of ordering a sandwich to take on the Byzantine complexity of a NASA shuttle launch, then Lenny's may be the place for you. First you order but you don't pay at counter 1. They give you a buzzer to let you know your food is ready. Then you need to pay at counter 3. There is no counter 2. Counter 3 will give you an *empty* plastic bag. You then stand for an indeterminate amount of time looking awkward with other empty-plastic-bag-wielding customers. When your buzzer finally starts vibrating you mistakenly go to counter 3 and are told to go to the Order Pickup counter where you pickup your food. Hooray! read more

I looooove Lenny's. It's one of my favorite breakfast and lunch spot. A great place to eat when your dieting or sick. When I worked nearby I used to go to this place frequently. Now I moved but I still order here through delivery. The park place Lenny's is the only one Ive been to so I can't comment on the other shops. Why do I like Lenwich? It's because their ingredients are clean and portions large. When I mean their portions are large Im not referring to the large burger/pot pie or junk food, I'm referring to their veggies and protein. When I ask for an avocado salad with boiled egg, I get half avocado and almost an entire boiled egg. Plus Tomatoes, onions and lettuce are free with the salad. Their sandwiches are delicious too. When Im sick I get the chicken noodle soup. Their hazelnut iced coffee is my to-go coffee. And all the yogurt muffins are huge and delicious, get the red velvet muffin if you see it because they get sold quickly, the cappuccino muffin is good too. The reason why I say that their ingredients are clean is that they don't add anything extra.A salad will only have the specified ingredients, nothing fattening unless mentioned. Other stores sell salad that taste delicious but are like 800 calories but Lenny's doesn't taste heavy. I mean if you're gonna order the Caesar salad with cheese and bacon its gonna be 800 calories but if you get the sunshine salad with no cheese you are definitely gonna lose weight. If anyone is complaining it tastes flavorless here its because they don't add added ingredients (I can't confirm this and Im saying this purely from my experience and taste). It's new and squeaky clean here. The interior looks like most of the competition in the area as they have communal tables and modern rustic feel to it with the wooden furniture balanced by metal surfaces everywhere. I order the Nova and Tomato on a roll. It was a great breakfast sandwich paired with eggs. Pretty neatly prepared. and the lox were of good quality. I don't generally write reviews anywhere. In fact, if I do write them, it's usually because I'm so happy with the service I received that I want everyone to know. However. I am so incredibly aggravated right now that I'm writing a bad review. And, to be fair, this location just opened. Additionally, the person who actually rang me up was really nice and super fast, and she made sure they had the type of bagel I was ordering before she rang me up, which I always appreciate. In fact, she's the reason that this review is two stars instead of just one. Unfortunately, a toasted bagel with cheese should not take 14 minutes. Which, although it took that long for me to get it, is probably not how long it took them to make it. Here's the setup for anyone who doesn't know: someone takes your order, then you wait for your name to be called. I placed my order, then stood right by the counter. After more than ten minutes had passed, I went really close to the counter because I was going to ask, and the girl calling orders asked my name. When I told her, she looked in a bag, and said, pretty accusatorily "I've been calling your name FOREVER!!" No, no you have not. I've been standing right here. "I HAVE BEEN!" OK, so I'm human. Maybe - maybe - you called my name once and I didn't hear it. I doubt it, since I was not doing anything but standing there waiting for my name to be called, but sure, it is possible. But you certainly haven't been calling my name "FOREVER," since I've been staring down your station since after we passed the 7 minute mark. Lenny's management, if I could give you a tip, I'd say make sure your staff doesn't jump down the customer's throat when something like this happens. I hadn't yelled at her or anything, she just went straight to her accusation that she'd been calling my name "FOREVER." She was loud about it, too, and if I were a different sort of person, I'd have been embarrassed. If she'd just said something like, oh, here it is, sorry you didn't hear me I wouldn't have thought twice about it. I certainly wouldn't be so incredibly aggravated right now that I doubt I will ever come to this location again. Oh, and the bagel was fine. Cold, otherwise it would have been really good. Place is very clean, and looks like a pleasant enough place to eat. But I couldn't wait to get the heck away from the girl at the counter, who continued to be rude as I exited. read more

I honestly don't see what the fascination is. I guess if you like to wait for AGES for an average sandwich with piles and piles of meat then it's a good deal. The options are all so boring and traditional. The bread is fresh however and the fishwich pretty tasty (but that's more of a burger). Very good sandwich shop on Park Place near Church St. They make salads and hot and cold sandwiches. Lots of seating. Very bright and clean. They give you a pager when you place your order. Pick up a drink and chips, pay at the cashier, find a seat, then pick up your order when your pager buzzes. The subway runs underneath, so you might feel the floor quietly vibrate now and then. A touch of NYC. You can always pick up to go. City Hall Park is a block away. Subways nearby are the A, C, E, 2 and 3 on Church and the N on Broadway. Close to the Woolworth Building, Park Row, 26 Federal Plaza, and the World Trade Center. read more
