I was visiting Lido's Pizza with 3 of my friends. I have not been here in awhile Usually, I just have a slice, but today I was in the mood for spaghetti. I have to say, it was fantastic. Lido Pizza is tied for my favorite pizza in all of LA. There is simply nothing we can do to make this pizza better. It is absolutely spectacular. Also, if you like spicy food, you can ask for the sauce spicy, or medium spicy and they will dust the sauce with cayenne before adding the cheese. Fair warning: if you ask for it spicy (posed to medium spicy) it might be more special than you expected, so start with "medium spicy" if you want to try this out. I definitely recommend it. The restaurant feels like an old-school Italian restaurant in the pizzeria. Soft lighting, red booths, and very good food. They serve wine and beer, including three draft selections and a decent bottled beer selection. I highly recommend visiting. You will certainly not be disappointed. read more

We ordered Meat Ravioli and a large pizza with the super deluxe toppings. We couldn't believe how good the ravioli was. The pasta was so fresh. The pizza had a lot of delicious melting cheese with onions, peppers, pepperoni and mushrooms. It was simply excellent. We suggest you go during off-hours. I used to come here several times a month prior to the pandemic. I always enjoyed my food. I decided to pop in a couple days ago - first time in over 2.5 years - and get a pizza to go. I ordered the surpreme that is supposed to have everything. well...it was disgusting. It looked disgusting and the slime factor of the cheese made it inedible. When I had this before at the restaurant, there were olives on it and something else (I can't recall the name but it was def missing from this one.). I ordered a medium pizza to go with small salad and it was over $40. I got a slimed cheese pizza with some chunks of sausage, loaded sliced onion and chucks of grey looking green bell pepper. I think there was some pepperoni in there somewhere and I thought there should be salami but I maybe didn't get far enough into it to see that. Needless to say, this is either the place you have to eat in...so if there are ingredients missing you can just go to the counter and let them know...or it's the place that you don't go again because getting duped once is enough. I can't recommend Lido's anymore to anyone and definitely won't be returning. At this price, my pizza should be awesome. read more

The name of the place is Lido Pizza, but the real star of the show is the pasta-- it's homemade. Order a plate, and they'll keep bringing you more, so come hungry. My server tells me the record is six plates, which I'd like to break, but worried my pants will break first. The BEST pizza and the BEST spagetti I have ever tasted! The food gets 5 stars. The restaurant itself needs work though. I just went yesturday and I did not have a pleasent dinner. I was seated in a booth and was not amused by all the tiny flying bugs. Needless to say that the insects were a real bother. I looked up and saw a bunch of spit balls on their ceiling. I love their food but I really have to question the cleanliness of the place. To top it all of, I had a horrible waiter. I placed our empty glasses at the end of the table and we never got a refill. Interesting experience- all the makings of a great restaurant but it's missing something. I had heard a lot about the long standing reputation of Lido's as being a great family owned restaurant. Visited for dinner with my boyfriend and had an okay experience. The menu is very persuasive- boasting their famous meat sauce "just like mama used to make!" I ordered the pesto fettuccine Alfredo and boyfriend ordered the meat ravioli. My dish was very clearly made with a fresh, house pesto and house made pasta but the dish was surprisingly very bland. The ravioli was the same- well seasoned beef but an overall bland flavor. We were kinda surprised the dishes were a bit of a miss. The pizza at the neighboring table looked good, so maybe we should have ordered pizza? We were really surprised that we didn't get the 5 star flavor we were hoping to enjoy...might be back to give the pizza a try. Service was pretty good, so we might try again. read more

It really is delicious but their pricing is really askew, it's like over 20 bucks for a large pizza (which is like a medium size everywhere else) I don't mind paying for good pizza but then it's like another 3-4 bucks for each topping so the supreme with everything is like over 30 bucks? And they gave me a hard time for not wearing a mask for pick up, sorry but I don't wear a mask because I order oxygen and it's proven that they help one bit (even though the world seems to be convinced that they need to wear them over a virus that's like the bogeyman! I think I have been coming here for at least forty years. At first, my mom would take me and my brother, then I would come in high school with my gf, then later, after moving back to LA I would come back from time to time. The place has never changed, it is still serving up delicious Italian food to the masses in Van Nuys. I always get an small antipasto salad and then either a medium pizza or ravioli...The meatballs are also splendid......I don't ever remember being disappointed eating here. Based on all the good Yelp reviews, my boyfriend and I decided to try this place out to see if it would satisfy our pizza craving. Oh boy, did it ever! I have to throw this out there right now; My name is Allison, and I'm a cheeseaholic. Especially when it comes to pizza. We ordered a simple pepperoni pizza. And it was DELICIOUS! The amount of cheese was perfect, the pepperoni was tasty, and just, mmmm good. We also ordered a side of garlic bread with cheese on it.. and wow, that was great too. Our waitress was very friendly, very attentive. Our glasses were never empty throughout the meal, and she was very quick to cash us out and box up our leftover pizza for us. Sure, parking can be kind of a pain (the front lot and back lot were both full when we went, but we found plenty of street parking on the side), but it's so worth it. Well done, Lido. Ordered a pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom pizza and an order of their meat ravioli with meat sauce on Friday on the way home from work. Also got some minestrone soup. Is this the best pizza I ever shoved into my face? Yes, yes it is. There's something very delicious about the cheese and sauce they use. Really really good. It's the same operation as Chi Chi's Pizza in Northridge and Simi Valley. I used to eat at the Northridge location when I was just a kid, like thirty years ago. They have been around a long time. It's not NY Pizza, it's Lido Pizza. The dough, sauce and cheese here is top notch. My only problem with Lido Pizza is that they put MOUNDS of cheese on the pizza. My fav place ever!!!! Amazing food and service. The pasta is all handmade and my favorite is the fettuccini Alfredo & lasagna. Been going here for 15 years, my sister and I have both made it our spot for birthday dinners with the family because it's an overall favorite. The pizza is also good, they put the toppings under the cheese. Also sourdough rolls are aaaaamazing- we always order extra to bring home with butter. 10/10 we have been going here for about 15 years almost. I like seasons. I like the crispness of autumn. The chill of winter. The fragrance of spring. And the blister of summer. But I'm a New Yorker at heart who swears there are few things more magical than a brisk October day in Central Park. Having lived here for the better part of my adult life, I've come to accept that most of Los Angeles only offers the benefits of two seasons: spring and summer. I'll be the first to admit that few things are as satisfying as calling friends and family back east to tell them you're on your way to the beach while they're enduring record low temperatures. The San Fernando Valley, however, is a part of the city cursed by eternal summer. Yes, nights can be balmy and during what's supposed to be the winter months there are days when you can't fry an egg on any given sidewalk, but otherwise it is swelteringly hot. And the lack of humidity makes no difference when you're talking about that degree of heat. After awhile, such conditions cannot help but effect one's decision making process. Every one of my wonderful friends who raved about the pizza at Lido lives in the Valley, and I'm left to assume their recommendations were based on heatstroke, not deliciousness. I think there's one word that perfectly sums up their pies: mediocre. Its finest component was the sauce, which did provide for a piquant tang. The cheese was ordinary. Clearly not homemade. I'm not such a snob that I'd fault them for not mixing up fresh mozzarella in the back, but the places that do understand it can make all the difference. The mushrooms that topped it got lost within it and were the proverbial needles in haystacks. My biggest issue was with that which truly defines any great pizza: The crust. I'll take it thin, thick or somewhere in between. I don't care if its made from organic flour or the bargain basement stuff you buy in vats at Costco. I don't care if it's cooked in a brick oven or by the warmth of a dragon's wings. What I do care about is that it's crispy. Much to my dismay, the crust at Lido was soggier than a cookie dunked for minutes in milk. I picked up my first slice and watched it wilt like a daisy in a dirt field. The ensuing bite had no crunch behind it. Neither did the one after that. Its old school atmosphere was moderately appealing, yet verged on depressing. There are plenty of establishments that are enhanced by the owner's refusal to change the decor despite a desperate need for it. This is not one of them. The service was quite good and, sadly, outshone, the pizza. read more

The Pizza is awesome...! Hand tossed & made to perfection. Accompanied with the garden salad. They have their homemade Ranch & Italian dressings; The lasanga is very cheesy. The various selection of ravioli & spaguetti: Delicious....! Was not too impressed with Fettucini Alfredo. Server Luis is very friendly. Its great for big parties or just family. Its a small place but well worth every bite. The prices are awesome too. The best part is : They also have sweet Gelato (Italian Ice Cream) Parking is behind the restaurant.
