My wife and I take advantage of the ongoing steak and beer night on Tuesdays and bring along our kids, a two year old and 3 month old. Due to covid, we prefer sitting in the outdoor space where they have a section available for multiple parties. The place is usually packed when there's a game on. We were taken care of by Victor the "Bear" who was on top of food and drinks, making sure we were well situated. "Bear" and the staff even cared to play and pay some attention to our little ones even while it was packed and busy, always much appreciated. The service here is slow, very little effort demonstrated. I had the chicken skins and the fish and chips. The food is typical bar food. Nothing special, very average. I ordered a Margarita but it didn't seem to have any tequila in it at all. I bounced quickly. Probably won't be back anytime soon. read more

He repeated the order a few times with slurred speech and when I asked for water, he said "I can give you tap water from here but I don't recommend you drinking it, might be safer to go to the store across the street to buy water" Food & drinks didn't come out, waited another 20 and just got up and left. Wow was that a disappointment. I came visiting limericks tavern because of the great reviews everyone left as well as hearing about it from others. They had decent outdoor seating and spaced enough for you to feel comfortable. So what was the catch? Well I ordered from their happy hour menu at the restaurant. The waitress confirmed our order would be fine as it was being placed before 7:00 PM so we placed our order with items from the happy hour menu. Food came about half an hour later, so nothing was wrong with that. And honestly, the food wasn't terrible, but it was definitely lack luster. -Nachos were subpar at best being extremely oily and tasted more like nachos that sat under a heat lamp. -Calamari was, well frankly not even sure why I considered ordering this here. -Chicken wings? Nothing special. -The sliders were probably the only saving grace yet of course, it was over cooked and the only thing that made it "moist" was the sauce they put on it. Would I recommend this restaurant for the food? No. The waitress comes by and brings us the check. And to our surprise, none of the food items we ordered were put on the listed happy hour price. Confused, I asked, "Hi ma'am sorry I was just wondering if there was a mistake on my bill as the items I ordered were on the happy hour menu." Her response "Oh... about that... I'm sorry but because of covid we decided to take down our happy hour menu. Until we have more customers, it will not be available." At a loss for words, all I could say was "I understand.". So I paid full price for the bill. End of story. As a first time customer, I have to say that I left feeling cheated and deceived. It's unfortunate they weren't understanding of my position being that in the initial conversation, the waitress clearly checked their watch and said happy hour ends at 7:00pm. If you're to take someone's order knowing that they ordered from the happy hour menu within the time range, if you've closed happy hour, then let your customers know! My message to the restaurant: Please be more transparent with your customers as I'm sure if you were in my shoes you'd feel lied to and disappointed. Melonnie took excellent care of myself and my better half at lunch today. I went on a recon mission to try out their half-off wings, wine and whiskey (excluding Japanese whiskeys) special for Wed. You have a choice between BBQ IPA, Buffalo, or Garlic Parmesan and you get 8 wings per order for $4. If you can't do math, this is a steal. The quality of the wings was prime as well, and this coming from someone who usually passes on ordering wings (bad past experiences), but I couldn't pass up such an offer. I'm not really into wines (yet at least), but I am big into whiskeys, especially Scotch, which happens to be their biggest selection of all the whiskey types. I couldn't pass up the chance to try a shot of Johnnie Walker Blue Label for $16-to put this into perspective, most bars on average will charge you $40 for a shot of Blue Label. And despite some mild protesting from the boss about not drinking too much, I ordered a shot of Dalmore 12, which is a fine single malt as opposed to a luxury blend like Blue Label. I'm already making plans to try other single malts and maybe some bourbons that I may never get another chance to try over the next few Wednesdays. Aside from the wings, we ordered two scotch eggs, which I had to try. The boss liked them a lot because she's an egg fanatic, especially hard boiled. I have to admit I like them a lot, too. What really made them extra special was the spicy grain mustard given to you on the side; it pairs well with both the egg and the ground pork surrounding said egg. I have my eye on the Scottish Salmon, Branzino, and the Corned Beef for my future visits. Aside from the pub being small and in a busier part of Alhambra, it has a lot of potential to be a regular watering hole/gastropub for me and my crew. It's too bad we're all getting a bit too old to drink regularly while out. But I would love it if they hosted a trivia night someday! This place has very elegant ambiance with pride, but poor service. I came in this server lady was rude. Probably she's by herself. Picking up order and waited for over 20 mins on Monday night 8:40pm!? I asked her if order is ready, she replied with attitude like if i see any order is ready on her hand. For takeout, I would not recommend. They used paper boxes for hot steamy items (soups and fish and chips) and liquid got into the fish and chips box making everything really soggy and mushy. The clam chowder I had was fine - I prefer Cheesecake Factory's but you can only get that on Fridays - and the corned beef and cabbage had a good flavor but very tough beef. You'd be better off making corned beef in your slow cooker or Instant Pot. Service was friendly and they got the order right - even my special annoying requests like no salt on fries. My kids didn't love the fish, partly because the batter was wet. My guess is that dining there would remedy at least half these issues - though maybe stay away from the corned beef! read more

Sláinte! It's so easy to raise your glass to such a fine establishment. I've probably been here about 3 or 4 times and each time it's been a great experience. They really make u feel at home and the food is great. The Scottish Salmon is tender, juicy and flavorful. The clam chowder and beef stew is not only seasoned perfectly, but satisfyingly filling. And don't get me started on their tap list. If you're a craft beer connossuier like me, you'll have have no prob finding a great IPA, Belgian, Stout, Sour, or whatever tickles your fancy. DRINKS: (let's not pretend this isnt the most important criteria): Very long list of great domestic, imported, and craft beers, and a very pleasing happy hour (4-7). FOOD: Fries are finger licking good and can't stuff my face with them fast enough. Sadly, there is only one vegetarian option on the menu and nothing vegan (I'm doubtful about the fries are because they're probably fried in the same oil as the chicken). Its an Irish pub and I know the typical food doesn't lend itself to vegetariand/vegans, but having fries as you're only food option sucks. I can't knock the food either because it does look GREAT! SERVICE: Really genuinely friendly and helpful service, it just took longer than expected to get our beers and fries...every time we ordered. Ordered take out through Yelp-small order just some clam chowder and sliders. Some initial issues 1)food wasn't ready when it said it would be 2) nobody was there to greeted and waited around to be acknowledged...those issues I can easily overlook since I know it is a time to support small businesses and I get that things may not be perfect. However I got home and the food was not okay. The sliders were uncooked and just raw. Not a little red but completely uncooked. Also the bread that came with the chowder was burned and partially black. I was too concerned to try the clam chowder so everything got tossed in the trash. I know restaurants are trying to survive this pandemic, but please have staff that can greet people and cook your food thoroughly. Btw I only picked up food but while I was there the female bartender kept touching her mask and pulling it on and off and having conversations without her mask on as she spoke over the drinks she was serving, so it didn't feel like they were taking the appropriate covid precautions. Just noticed this draft unfinished in my yelp account. So we went there for Father's day, thinking it'd be nice for my dad to have a beer and get good food. Reviews on yelp were pretty positive. Place was empty. Only two other tables (both party of 2) but they left during the course of our meal. However the bar started filling up while we were there. Consequently, we expected better service since they seemed to be fully staffed. So silly of us, service was definitely lacking. They didn't bring enough utensils, water, nor did they take our order timely. Food was okay. Dad enjoyed his salmon. The kids enjoyed their medley of mixed food from our dishes, and the family didn't have anything to complain about when it came to the food and beer. Came in because they were close to my gym. I had their pastrami sandwich......BOMB. Just the right salty taste and the fries that came with it were crispy.
