The food here is great! There is a good variety meets and vegetables. We got the House Special Pork Soup Base and the Tom Yum Kung Soup Base. The pork one was flavorful and the Tom yum had a nice level of spice that complimented the seafood we got well. The service here is also very good. They also have a few food selection at the side table. Expect to wait for at least 30 minutes. Pro tip: go before 5pm to avoid long wait time. I wish the table was a little bit more spacious. The new hot pot spot in Plano is now open, since it is soft opening they don't take reservation and line can be as long as 1.5-2 hours. I am genuinely surprising by how well they handle the service for a such crazy chaotic busy night and our server was able to take care all the needs and bring up everything promptly. It is AYCE but the soup base is additional charge per table, we had four people and end up paying roughly $35-40 per person after tips and taxes. the food is great, i love the marble beef and the beef tongue, soup base we chose the mala spicy beef base and tomato soup base, personally I love the tomato base, it is so flavorful that you don't really need to build a dipping sauce on the side. side dishes wise they have tons of selection, but be aware that because they try to conserve from food waste, the side dishes typically will come up with very little so just be sure to add more with the one you really like. They also have a salad bar along with few other snacks, fruits and dessert. Overall the food is great and service is wonderful, i would definitely go back when they have reservation system in place and not wanting to wait in a long line. Right now they are only open in evening and be prepare to wait at least 1.5 hour if you really want to get your hot pot craving fix for this chill cold weather. read more

Great place to enjoy Chinese-style hotpot similar to Haidilao at an affordable price. It is all you can eat, and you can choose up to four types of soup per pot. First choice of soup is included in the price, however, there's an additional charge for the more types of soup bases you add (One-time fee instead of an additional fee per person). We were a group of 5 and were seated at a table with two different pots. We opted for one house special pork bone soup for one pot, and Liu's house special spicy soup (level 2 which is minimum), and chicken soup with fish maw. Our group's favorite was the house special pork bone soup. Chicken soup followed closely second and I was most impressed with this one as it had so much more flavor and boldness than what I would've expected for a chicken base. Liu's house special spicy was wayyyy too spicy even for a spicy lover like me, and so full of beef tallow that I found it very overwhelming and not enjoyable. I may be willing to try their regular house special spicy soup next time with one chili pepper level of spicy, as two chili peppers put me through heartburn after. There were ample of choices of toppings and all with excellent quality. The group favorite was the fresh shrimp with fish roe, which is a minced fresh shrimp patty that you drop in your boiling soup in chunks. Green bean noodles were interesting as well reminiscent of the wide Chinese glass noodles, but with more chewy texture. Individual toppings except the meats were all portioned small so that you can enjoy a wide range of different toppings. What I really enjoyed was their sauce bar with many unique ingredients and sauces I've never seen before. They are known for their homemade sesame sauce, which is creamy and rich. Some unique options such as peppercorn oil, MSG, and black mushroom chili oil can be seen as well. They also have small selections of Chinese appetizers and desserts that you enjoy. My favorite dessert was their hot and crispy Chinese donut with a drizzle of condensed milk. Besides the heartburn from the very spicy broth, I reallyenjoyed the experience here and would highly recommend it to those who enjoy Chinese-style hotpot. It is a well-balanced place where you can enjoy various options for everything (Broth, toppings, appetizers, desserts). Considering the affordability, I personally can't justify myself to go back to Haidilao. read more

I just wanna say, I'd never return for a number of reasons. 1. Our server took our order and handed us off to someone else. We didn't get veggies or our rice because she said she wasn't in charge of our table. 15-20 min later, another server said that she was our server the whole time and she completely forgot. She kept saying "it's coming" but also kept denying she was in charge of our table. 2. THE BROTH. We got the Liu's spicy broth & the "Tom yum soup"..... spicy broth was sooo OILY that it coagulated within a few minutes and it was VERY thick. The tom yum soup shouldn't even be called tom yum.... Tasted more tomato than anything. Highly don't recommend this broth if you're expecting Thai flavors. The cherry on top was paying extra for the broth!! What a scam. 3. Meats were sooo thin! All I have to say there. 4. The kicker of it all was that my two friends and I had the RUNS the very next day. Unfortunately, aside from the runs, my friend started to vomit. I'd go in further detail but I'd rather not. Overall, there are better places for hotpot IMO. Manna shabu and Squares are my top two choices. read more

Liuyishou is a must try for any hotpot fan, I have been waiting to try this place for such a long time and it was not a miss. They had a such a wide array of soup bases that were all delicious. We tried the signature spicy soup base, tomato, pork tripe, and chicken with fish maw broths which I 10/10 recommend. The meat selection is standard with other hot pot places in the area but i think the true star was their beef tongue. Very thinly sliced and unique, i think we ordered 10+ plates. Another star had to be the shrimp paste with roe--its a must try. To top everything all off, our server Yang made our experience infinitely better.
