Long wait on a Friday night (one hour at 7pm), but well worth it! This is probably one of the coolest hot pot places in DFW. I love Seapot and this spot rivals it! Their signature spicy broth is robust and hot! The herbal broth was surprisingly delicious as well. We were celebrating my son graduating college and this is the place he picked. I've been to hot pot restaurants twice before and both times they sucked, so I wasn't expecting much from these guys. HOWEVER, I was blown away by how good the food was. This place is fantastic. First off, the service was excellent. The wait staff was always there when we needed them, but never seemed to hover over us. Secondly, the food was amazing. The house spicy beef tallow broth was... I've never tasted soup like that. It was seasoned perfectly, and was so hot I broke out in a sweat, but I couldn't stop eating it. All the meat and veg were absolutely fresh, there were lots of strange (to me, a white American) meats on the menu, and it was both fun and tasty to broaden my culinary horizons. Beef tripe, pig intestines, brains, marinated pig ears... they were all both tasty and educational. (Okay, the brains tasted a little like liver, but other than that...) I've seen on TV that Sichuan peppercorns can make your mouth numb, this was the first time I experienced it for myself though. I thought this outing was going to suck, but it turned out great. I tried to wait for the crowds to die down a bit before I actually tried this place and it was totally WORTH IT! There is usually still a long wait, especially if you go for dinner during a weekend like I did. But thankfully they have a sign-in waitlist kiosk at the front you can put your name down, go chill somewhere else and they will text you when your table is ready. It took about 1 hr for us to get seated. Our server was very knowledgeable and told us we had a 2 hour time limit. I heard good things about their duck broth so we got that and the house signature spicy broth (even the medium is super spicy and no joke - so beware). The service was so fast. We would basically immediately get our orders as soon as we placed them. Their sauce bar was one of my favorite parts! There's so many sauce options and I love that they have a sauce guide for those that don't know what to do. There's a lot more premium protein options on their AYCE menu than other hot pot spots imo. They even have some premium options that are a la carte. Overall their broth, sauce bar and more unique protein selection makes this spot my new favorite hot pot restaurant in DFW! You pay for your soup base and extra for some premium items. They have a self serve unlimited sauce, appetizer, and fruit bar. This new hot pot is hard to beat with amazing service where the staff is very tentative and clean!! There is always a worth the way even though the way, arriving at 5:40 was about an hour! Upon arrival, it was packed. It is somewhat smaller compare to their neighboring restaurants but they give plenty of snacks and heating lamps outside. They made my friends birtbday extra special and played a song over intercom ! Really this place is an ideal setting for any occasion, whether it be a romantic dinner for two or a celebratory gathering with friends and family. The menu, offers a diverse array of options to suit every palate. The queue was long even on supposedly off-hours (2-4pm). We didn't mind because we were thinking awesome that means a lot of people enjoy the place. While that may be true, I've found mostly it's just the space inside is not very spacious and conducive for a lot of people. In fact, that's the first impression I got when entering the place. Super crowded and little to no space/elbow/legroom. Also the atmosphere made me cough and our family sneeze which is out of character. And before you say that's cause we can't handle the spice, our family can.. so try again. The ventilation in this place needs a heavy renovation. One would of thought these things should've been ironed out prior to launching or even at least in the soft opening. The food does come out quite quick I'll give them that. And the hot pot heats up very fast even with broths (ie: plain) that traditionally take a long time to heat up based on experience from other hot pot places. The quality of their stuff I honestly didn't see any differentiation with other hot pot places I frequent. They have a buffet area but really nothing great to get besides maybe the cake. They do have a ice cream upon request served in single use cups. There were a couple of things we had to remind them we ordered and of course the workers bringing out the dishes would yell Spanish across the room to get someone to be able to handle it. All in all when the meal was done, we ended up not getting about 2 things we ordered from the beginning and just left it at that. Payment is done at the table while the server is there. I get it that it's just easier for them to stay there and take the tablet after you pay but I don't really appreciate someone hovering over me while I'm putting down what tip they'll get. I especially don't like the minimum 18% selection they have. If you don't just have a custom button for tip (they do have a custom button by the way), then 15% is the standard. I've even seen some restaurants put 5% as the minimum if they have a preset button at all. They buck the norm but it speaks volumes to us as paying customers. In the end, I gave more than I would've given had I been given the courtesy of handling the bill in isolation so I guess their plan worked. This will probably be my one and last visit. Simply way too expensive to justify the costs. Atmosphere was not very good. If these 2 things can be improved, I'll give it another try. read more

This Chinese hot pot had a wide variety of meats and vegetables, and very flavorful broths. We chose house special pork bone soup base and house special spicy soup base and they did not disappoint. Both were very flavorful with our added meats and vegetables. You can choose up to four soup broths which have different prices. You had a choice of different condiments that you could choose from. Not their fault that they're busy, but we waited over an hour for a table and it took 35 minutes after we got seated to get our broth. They brought out our raw meats and kept asking if we wanted to order more before we even got our broth to cook it in. Told us 3 separate times that it was on the way. By the time we finally got broth, they had run out of a lot of their AYCE meats, so they gave us a 10% discount. That doesn't help much when the broth isn't even included in the AYCE price (yes there's an extra charge for broth, nowhere else does that...). We didn't get a lot of what we ordered despite asking multiple times, and they brought us plenty of stuff we definitely didn't order. The food was fine, (there are reviews of food poisoning on here but we felt fine) but I don't think I would've been impressed if we weren't starving from the wait. The sauce bar has no hoisin sauce, which I've seen at every other HotPot restaurant. TLDR: I wouldn't go back, the price and the service were horrible and the food is just as good at any other hotpot place in the area. To the restaurant: lots of the service problems could be avoided if guests could order meats from their table straight from their phones or an iPad, like I've seen done at similar restaurants. On top of that, the staff got our order wrong three times, and we were given the wrong type of beef and mushroom platter. Not only did the ingredients taste off, but some dishes seemed improperly stored or prepared. Within hours of our meal, we all became ill, making for an incredibly unpleasant experience. This buffet hotpot surprised us with its quality and the variety of food they offer, not too expensive like Haidilao, its quality to me is actually same same, so, highly recommended. It's a small space and can get crowded later in the weekdays, too. JJ, the server, however, is exceptional and very attentive even when it gets very busy. He gives good food recommendations including the shrimp paste, bamboo fungus and spicy handcut beef. All have blown our mind!! Foods come on the table in seconds.
