Decided to come here for an early dinner and since I was in the mood for a steak and didn't want to cook this satisfied both of those conditions. I was surprised how full the parking lot was at this time of day. I was seated immediately and only waited a few minutes for the server to come to take my drink order. I gave her my entire order, but asked her to bring my salad out early and to make sure my entrée didn't come out until I had time to eat the salad. The server did bring the salad out right after she brought the iced tea. But my steak came out before I was half done with my salad. I also noticed that orders that were placed before mine came out after mine. And several coments were made about the service. The server did give me the military discount without asking. That was appreciated. The steak was very good, especially since I have learned to order medium so it will be medium rare when it comes out. My fiancé and I went here one night just to get the shrimp on the appetizer menu. It's so good! The food did not disappoint us. The firecracker shrimp is a must try. It's spicy but just the right amount of spice where you can eat multiple pieces without needing water. The service was below par. The hostess when we entered looked annoyed that we came an hour before closing. She was rushing us and asking us questions. We opted to order at the bar since we were getting it to go. The ambiance was below par. Another employee came to the front with the hostess and were talking and looking at us as if we were bothering them. I have not been to a Longhorn restaurant in almost 20 years because I just wasn't impressed at my last visit. Boy have I been missing out! The staff was super friendly - our server was training and I honestly could not tell you which was the trainer and which was the trainee as they both took great care of us! That honey wheat bread and butter to start was amazing! I got the lemon garlic chicken with a salad and plain sweet potato and had zero complaints! My friend got the Parmesan chicken with asparagus and a salad and was also delighted with her food. Her margarita was so delicious she ordered a second! My only real complaint is the other diners. I guess they had a larger party waiting for a table and they had some tables they don't use near the restrooms so they let the party wait in the back for a table to open up. One of the guests kept walking around and asking when the table would be ready, and I really could have done without that! Outside of that, I'd definitely go back! read more

Have rarely given a one star review but need to here. Usually we go to privately owned steakhouses and not the big chains but we were given a gift card for Christmas we ended to use. Almost nothing good to say. Meal - we had the NY strip and a steak and shrimp combo. Both steak ordered medium rare. One was fine. The other could have walked itself to the table it was so rare. However the properly cooked NY strip was mostly tendon. Could not cut through half the steak. NY Strip will sometimes have this but never seen a steak that had this much. Clearly a low quality cut. Flavoring. Salt. That's it. Never tasted two meals which were so salty in my life. I am not even sure where they put all the salt. Shrimp and steaks just tasted like they were put in salt for weeks. Broccoli side - no flavor at all. Felt like steam fresh bagged broccoli that had zero flavor, no seasoning or butter or anything. Service - while she was nice the going girl seemed lost. Never brought the bread. Wine took 15 minutes yet the other drink came out in 5. Was told they didn't have a drink I asked for even thought I could see it at the bar. Spent half our meal at another talking to a guy "friend". Overall this place is the Applebees of steakhouses. Bland. Boring. Low quality cuts of meat. read more

Four of us family members had dinner this evening at The Battleground Longhorn Steakhouse. Our server was quite nice, drinks and hot bread with butter came out quickly. Meals were delivered in a timely manner. We were there about 5PM, so they were not yet busy. My biggest complaint would be we sent back the silverware 3 times, as the napkin each time was DIRTY....looked like someone blew their nose on the first one, the second one was what appeared to be makeup, . the third napkin was not clean. Finally, our server wrapped the silverware herself to assure there was no problem with it. I had the strawberry salad (my favorite at Longhorn), 2 others in our party complained about the dressing, as well. The vinaigrette dressing was too tart and had some hot sauce or pepper in it that burned your mouth. Others in our party d I have eaten at no less than 5 or 6 Longhorn Steakhouses, this one is by FAR the worst, the others have NEVER had a problem with anything. We were a party of five and when we arrived, we were seated at a booth that was completely unclean, food crumbs, crayons, and trash underneath the table made it feel like we were stepping into a mess rather than a restaurant. It's unacceptable for any dining establishment to greet guests with such poor cleanliness. After checking their rating, Before arriving, I followed the instructions to call an hour ahead to get on the waitlist. It took three phone calls, three transfers, a request to speak to a manager, and 27 minutes of wasted time just to accomplish what should have taken two. Absolutely ridiculous. As for the meal, lukewarm soup, missing butter for the bread, an overcooked steak, and no drink refills...all pointing to a lack of attention to basic service standards. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed and clearly stretched too thin, which isn't her fault, but rather an indication of poor management. I mentioned that my wife wanted it butterflied and they said they did not do that, which they have done in the past, this was our first clue. This location was a great choice! Mainly because we got seated right away, which is usually something that does not happen on the weekends over at the Wendover location. Choosing the battleground location on this day was great because it was not super packed, parking was easy and we were able to enjoy our food. The service at this location was so fast! Our waitress stayed on top of things, even before we had a chance to ask for something. Pescatarians, the salmon is great! It's still juicy and tender, even if you ask for it to be cooked well. I'm not sure if the Brussels sprouts is a new addition on the menu, but it was the first time I noticed it, I ordered it for my side and it was amazing. Our waitress made us a fresh pot of coffee and it was the best, served in large cups, hot and delicious. The bread was hot and served with real butter. I typically try to go to restaurants twice before I leave a review , because you can have "off" nights , I get it! For whatever reason , everybody just seemed drained and unhappy. I came in Wednesday around 8pm. For whatever reason the bar always has a weird smell. I was greeted when I waked in and sat at the bar. It took about 10 minutes for the bartender to come to the bar and address me , I think he was working on a takeout order , but he could have at least gave me a menu and said hold on. The kitchen , I felt was overloud , seemed to be everybody talking about getting off and being ready to go. The food was good. I ordered a house salad , Wild West shrimp w extra peppers and a Hennessy margarita. The shrimp was delicious, the salad was super basic w literally one red onion , barely any cheese or croutons and for $5 dollars I would have gotten a better salad at Wendy's. My drink was more mix than alcohol and was slightly syrupy. The bartender had no personality and during my hour at the bar , came to the bar once and then again for a takeout order. I was the only person at the bar , so I guess that's why he felt he didn't need to be present.
