This place is my go to when I want a delicious steak and baked potato. I still gave them five stars because of past performances. But if this were my first trip it would be my last. The noise level was off the charts. But I thought good for them, busy on a Wednesday night. Then, advertising street corn appetizers for like eight bucks. I order it. We get salads, no corn. We get food and the waiter says, we are out of corn. Disappointing but it happens. I ask for A1, he grabs it off another table, it is all but empty. Then I cut into my steak it is so gristly that my reasonably sharp knife is tearing at it! I fought my way through this low quality meat, but if my next experience isn't back up to par I will assume that President Biden has turned my previously delicious $35 dollar bone in rib eye into a $10 bone in dog treat. I realize that good meat isn't cheap. $35 isn't cheap. With tip my bill was $94 for two no appetizers. So I really paid $47 for a $10 steak. That won't be a regular occurrence from patrons. Everyone notices bad meat at a steak house. There are not any Ponderosa Steakhouses anywhere anymore. They lowered their quality too. I'll update this review when I get back there. We've been to the Mesa location five times since it opened. Unfortunately, this will be our last time. Every time we have been to this location someone in our party has had to return their meal to either be cooked correctly or corrected. We were here two nights ago. There were four of us, and once again, my husband had to send his back because the steak was well done and it was supposed to be rare. The fries were cold. First time ever at a LongHorn Steakhouse. So I will start with this: The steak was fabulous! I loved it! Having said that though, I did have some issues... when the waitress came by to take my order, I asked her if the asparagus with the lemon sauce came as a side with the steak, and she told me that it did. She did NOT mention that it was a "premium" side and cost more. I likely still would have ordered it though, because it sounded amazing. When I received the steak and asparagus, though, I noticed that there was no lemon sauce. I asked the waitress about that when she set it down on the table in front of me, and she told me that it was more of a "lemon butter" - not sauce. Okay, I guess, so I took a bite. All I tasted was a hot peppery flavor. No lemon at all. When she came back to the table I told her that I could not eat the asparagus because it was too spicy and that there was no lemon at all. She told me it is marinated in spice first thing in the morning... and I said "Okay but I can't eat this" - and she just nodded and walked away. She didn't apologize, or at the very least tell me then that it was an upcharge and that she would take off my bill. It wasn't until she handed me the bill that I saw it was an upcharge and that it was on the bill even though it was not at all what the menu said it was and even though I never ate it. So, steak was good, vegetables were not edible (at least not for me) and the service was meh at best. I did not like the way I was treated and so I am unlikely to ever return even though the steak was good. This was a missed opportunity for this restaurant to have a loyal customer. read more

We ate there twice this weekend, both for lunch. Our waiter was Ruben. He was awesome, very personable and professional. He made us feel right at home. His service was excellent, the second lunch, he profusely apologized for slow service on our cocktail order and food. He took it upon himself to comp our meals. His knowledge and experience of this restaurant was Hands down the best. He was a great server and highly recommend anyone visiting this restaurant ask for him. LONG HORN Was able to accommodate me and did not expect anything!!! They allowed us to order anything we wanted and was patient with my party as well as let everyone have their own.Although you can't make reservations I was able to go in an hour early to add my name to the list for my large party at my expected time even though my time was not guaranteed they did it as close as they could. Came in at about 9:30. Seated at a table that had dirty napkins and fruit on the floor right in front of our table. Sat there for about 10 minutes without anyone approaching our table. A couple workers passed by and left the trash in front of the table. Clearly no pride In your workspace. We unroll our child's napkin roll and the fork looks like it had been stuck in Mac n cheese. It was not clean. Still have not been approached or greeted so we decided to cut our losses and dip out before this got any worse. SIMPLY do better. Finally I told our server Andre and finally there were accommodations for drying your hands. I ordered Ribeye. Not seeing that it had been marinated in a lot of salt. I have high blood pressure. I'm not big on going to chain restaurants, but we were staying nearby and didn't want to drive far for dinner. This was 6 minutes from our hotel. The restaurant is on the out parcel of the large mall, with it's own parking area. We were immediately seated and attended to. Service was efficient and friendly. We were able to special order just spring greens instead of the mixed salad they normally provide. Big plus for accommodation!! Food was also pretty decent, and well prepared. The server asks if it's okay yo season your steak & I thought that was very nice. When we got our food, it was all very very salty. I personally asked for very little seasoning but was salty. There was a time that I enjoyed coming to this place, back when the customer service was friendly and the kitchen knew what they were doing. I think I have given this location more chances than it actually deserves, 5 to be exact. My first concern is I have never seen the same waitperson twice. In the beginning yes, perhaps they found a place that was not toxic, I don't know. Second concern is the kitchen, I would ask religiously for a medium steak, it would always come out past that medium and be teetering on well done. The ribeye cut at that temp is chewy and I made that know in my last visit. I spoke to a 'manager' after my sister and I split a porterhouse and having asked for med and it was messed up and cooked all the way through. Back to the manager, absolutely useless to talk to her. No feedback or action plan on how to correct their egregious kitchen mishap. Lastly, I know I have choices on where I want to have a steak, in this case this equivalent place to spirit airlines will not be taking my money again. I had never in my life had a bad experience at long horn until now! This location is absolutely filthy there baseboards are filled with accumulated dirt. The floor looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. To top it off, I had an inattentive waitress and disgusting dirty fork! My son and I didn't get any bread knife or plates so we never touched the bread. She didn't give us straws until way later either. We went back to Longhorn because my wife really liked their Grilled Chicken and Strawberry salad last time around. So she ordered it again. I decided to try something different and ordered the advertised "two eight ounce" grilled pork chops thinking "Wow, that's a pound of meat and I'm hungry". As you can guess they were nowhere near 8oz apiece and by looking you couldn't say they were grilled. There were no grill marks on them like the steaks have. If you've ever ordered even a six ounce sirloin steak anywhere, in comparison, these chops were smaller than that. They were like the chops in a grocery store family pack, pretty small and thin. But I figured, "My bad, I'll know next time" and I doubt that complaining wouldn't amount to anything of substance. But then the waiter brought my wife, Ann, the wrong salad. It had no strawberries, madrian oranges, candied pecans, grapes etc. The waiter disappeared. After waiting 5 mintues for a sighting of him she got up and tracked down a sub server who went to get the waiter. He tried to argue with Ann that it was the salad she ordered. He even said "Do you want me to get the menu?". I had to point out to him "Look dude, I sat right here and heard her order the grilled chicken salad (the only salad that mentions grilled chicken). She even pointed to it on the menu." Ann asked if he could bring her the fruit and said she'd make due with it. He brought a small cup of pecans and strawberries. No madrian oranges or grapes. He did offer a mumbled appology and acknowledged that he did bring her the wrong salad. For whatever reason I gave him a full tip. But we probably won't be back. read more

This was our first time here. We were seating right away for lunch, they were fairly busy. Our server was fast with greeting us and bringing us drinks. We started with a blue ridge wedge salad and bread. We also ordered sirloins and loaded baked potatoes. The food was delicious! Steak was cooked perfect. In a quick search for a late Steak dinner, this place was the highest rated in the mesa area. I wasn't expecting much due to time of day, 8pm-ish. However I was pleasantly surprised to satiate my hunger with this Porterhouse Steak. It is a huge slab of meat and I know personally how difficult it can be to evenly cook it. For the most part, the grill person did a good job with my medium rare! The rating isn't a 5 only to be fair because a decent edge, cut thinner than the rest of the Steak cooked faster and was more medium well. In the picture, it's the part on the plate close to their logo. From the first long deep grill sear mark down, the Steak was amazing! Succulent, juicy, well seasoned. I did not add salt or pepper nor did I need any steak sauce. It was I good steak as it was for the time of day it was. The Steakhouse Mac'n'Cheese was simply my cheat treat. It too was very delicious and I'll have it again should I find myself in another Longhorn Steakhouse. read more

Was in town for a week on business so this review is for 2 trips. 1st trip - Center cut sirloin was delicious and pink throughout exactly how I wanted. Fries were good, and honey wheat bread was delicious. 2nd trip - babyback racks aren't cooked with sauce, but instead they just give you a cup of it on the side. The meat was overcooked and dried out, the sauce was thick and bland. Fries were very soggy even tho I only drove 5 minutes back to my hotel. Bread was tough and therefore not good. So I'm torn, the steak and first night was awesome. Then the 2nd time was a waste of money. Keep in mind its Take-Out Only during this covid pandemic. But still read more

This is a really really good overall steakhouse. I always go for the fire roasted T-bone. It's a great overall choice.

We have been here a few times and the food is the same as other Longhorn Steakhouse locations. The service tends to be a bit on the slower side, though. If you're patient, it is worth not dealing with the waits and crowds at other locations. The wings are great. Not something I'd expect at a steakhouse, but they're dry seasoned and not served dripping with sauce -- though you can add that if you want: it is served on the side. Also unexpected is the Mac and cheese (with bacon) -- this is worth the up charge to upgrade your side dish. They use big cavatappi pasta and a creamy cheese sauce that's studded with bacon pieces. How about the steak? They're on par with others in their class (Outback is one I consider similar) and the seasoning is a bit better in my opinion. The salads are hit or miss -- the house dressing is apparently not popular as a waiter was almost shocked when I ordered it and had to verify that I knew what I was asking for -- the Caesar salads we've had have been very lightly dressed (easily remedied by asking for more dressing, but consistently SO light that you can barely taste it is odd). For the price, it is a fine place to take the family for a not-going-to-break-the-bank steak dinner. read more

Another bad steak at Longhorn. We won't be back. I ordered a ribeye and my wife ordered the New York Strip. Both medium well. Hers came out slightly over cooked. Mine was very well done. The waiter checked in after 15 minutes. Way too long. I sent the ribeye back and waited 20 minutes for a new one to arrive. My wife had finished eating by then. My steak was cooked right; but it was tough. I only ate a few bites. Neither the server or the manager apologized. When the check came, there was no pen. Had to wait another 10 minutes.
