To be honest, the place is more of a 3 for me. The rating is mainly for breakfast. I love Hong Kong style breakfast so when I saw this place popped up, I was so excited. The interior looked pretty nice and simple. The employees were attentive. Where we sat ended up being pretty sunny. The sun was shining right at my friend. The guy that was making the drinks saw and came to pull down the curtains right away. The breakfast options was confusing to us because we were given 2 menus but 1 of the menus was all Chinese which was the breakfast menu. The other one was in English but most of the options was for lunch and dinner.. None of us could read the breakfast menu. We had to rely on yelp. We got one of the combos which was the fish porridge with the soy sauce noodles. It came with one drink. I got the hot coffee. We also ordered the ice milk tea and HK French toast. The fish porridge would have been great if they used real filet fish like most restaurants. Instead they put some kind of fish paste in the porridge. It tasted awkward. It wasn't bad but it just didn't mixed well with porridge. The soy sauce noodle was good but it wasn't mixed well. Some areas were more salty than the other. However, the bean sprouts kinda helped a bit. The French toast was my favorite. Nothing outta the ordinary but because I had so many of the fancy French toasts with all the mix of fruits, cream and etc...sometimes, something so simple can be just as good. The creamer that they gave me for the coffee wasn't good. I believe that it expired because there was a sour taste. 3.5 stars Mom and I went there for breakfast for the first time today and thought it was a decent HK style cafe. It's not as crowded as some of the other longstanding HK cafes, which is a positive thing. Breakfast menu is pretty standard with their rice rolls, porridge, noodle soups, and milk tea or coffee. My mom got the shredded pork and bean sprout noodle soup and I got the fishball noodle soup combo A (which just means they're adding eggs to the noodle soup). The pork noodle soup was delicious while the fishball noodle soup is more clean-tasting. They give a lot for the price, so my mom and I easily skipped lunch and still felt full! Total came out to be $23-something before tips. I didn't really like the milk tea here, but that's not a huge issue since it's free. Service isn't going to be a draw and, from what I observed, there were 2 servers and 2 bussers this morning. If you are handicapped, there is a driveway leading to the loading area, and there is 2 handicapped parking spots upstairs. Walked into the restaurant and there was another group in front of us, they were standing by the cashier, so we did not know if they were waiting for to-go, their cash, or what's going on. Nevertheless, cashier ignored us the entire time, and our party just stood there cluelessly. Thank goodness a waitress noticed us and seated us after a bit. Since the restaurant took out the tables between the booths, it is relatively spacious. Ordered Stirred Fry Beef Noodles, Salted Fish and Chicken Noodles, and Honey Ribs and they were all delicious. Found this place through Yelp and it's new so my boyfriend and I decided to give this cafe a try. They have a underground parking lot. We got seated right away. The service was kinda rude, when we were ready to order and I told the waitress what I wanted she left half way of my order and went to another table to help them. The menus and the pictures of the food looks very promising. We ordered the pig feet noodle soup $12.95, chicken and chestnut clay pot ~$15 and braised pork belly ~$15 Make sure to check in to get a free plate of hanan chicken when you spend 30$ or more! I thought that was pretty nice that they offer that. All the dishes came except my noodle soup, we literally finished our meal and the noodle soup still hasn't came yet. We were given the check and was ready to pay then all of a sudden the noodle soup came. The food overall in general was salty for my taste. They were very generous with the pork feet and the free chicken as well. The pork belly was kinda tough. The only thing I really enjoyed was the chestnuts. Every time a new Hong Kong cafe opens up in the San Gabriel Valley, I make it a point to try that establishment as soon as possible. I saw this restaurant pop up in my Yelp search, so I went with my wife for brunch one day. This restaurant took the place of what used to be Younique Cafe way back in the day. It seems to be under new management, as the staff and menus have completely changed. Their breakfast menu was exclusively in Chinese when I went there, but their lunch and dinner menus have English. The breakfast is basically a combo set where you can choose one Western style entree, one Chinese style entree, and a drink. We shared a breakfast and got the French toast, Pig's blood congee, and then we had a hot lemon tea. The French toast was fairly standard. The pig's blood congee was pretty good. Favorites that I would recommend getting are honey garlic pork chop and sweet n sour pork. These two dishes were well fried and very flavorful. Ong choy I was disappointed with, the stalks they used must've been harvested late cuz they were huge, barely any leaves at all. Flavor was very mild, barely any garlic. No fermented beans at all . Sad... The mushroom tofu dish (traditionally dried scallop tofu) but this place only makes it with mushroom and sadly not even enoki... Flavors were just ok, very mild. Service was ok. They did get our orders mixed up a bit due to language barrier but we just ended up ordering extra of what was missed. They did refill our drinks regularly. For the rice, I don't understand why another table about 5 senior Asians got an entire pot of rice with their meal while we, a group of 8 around age 30-40 got 3 plates of rice to share??? Great little restaurant for typical HK style and Chinese cuisine! For breakfast I recommend their pork and preserved egg congee. They do not skimp on the egg! Other places give little pieces whereas they give a whole egg. They also have delish Chinese dishes that aren't on the menu, like fresh shrimp or fish, just have to ask. Restaurant restroom is very clean, and the staff is very friendly. Can't go wrong if you want tasty dishes that are reasonably priced. read more

Another decent option for HK style food! It's new, spacious, and comfortable to hang out. Had no trouble getting underground parking beneath the restaurant. Very easy to get in and out of. As others mentioned, the service is on the slower end, and maybe even slightly understaffed, but everyone was very nice. Portions aren't very large, but price point is fair. What we ordered for the breakfast specials: Iced HK milk tea: good quality. Not overly sweet and very smooth without the milk overpowering the tea. Beef rice noodle roll: Good consistency for the rice noodle roll. My expectations for the beef were on the higher end for this, but unfortunately didn't quite hit the mark for me. Gave very little beef and I wished there was more cilantro. Flavor-wise, I wasn't the most impressed, but it gets the job done. Beef brisket with egg noodles in soup: Brisket was tender and egg noodles met expectations. Not the best I've had, but decent. Overall food is 3.5 stars where it meets expectations. It's a good hangout spot for locals, and again, pretty comfortable to where I bumped it up to 4. Price range was reasonable at $15 total for what I ordered. Literally my favorite Cantonese/Chinese restaurant in all of LA. Every item on the menu is exceptionally fantastic! I bring my family and friends here and everyone agrees, always! If I didn't have this place, I'd feel lost in all of the Chinese restaurants in LA, because none of them are as consistently authentic, unique (they've got a plethora of authentic Cantonese dishes that you can't find in other restaurants), hosts are so friendly, I really can't say enough about it. I do my best taking photos but I'm just so happy eating here, it's spacious and pleasant. And I'm picky about value, taste and authenticity obviously, stuff isn't greasy or too sweet here, ambiance is great. Can't stop raving about it. Currently my favorite HK restaurant! Here's why: 1. The cha siu chow fun with egg is the best I've ever had, anywhere (including in Hong Kong). It is super soft and thin, and now I can't eat it anywhere else. It's so good that when we finished our meal I ordered another one and devoured it. 2. All the other food is really good. For several dishes, they are the BEST of anywhere I've tried. And for all the dishes, I haven't had a bad one yet where I was disappointed. I've now had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and the food is legit. The bor lo yao is very good. It's light and toasty and not too oily. It's not the best I've had, but I'd give it a 7 or 8 out of 10. The shrimp are huge for the various dishes such as the shrimp and vegetable stir fry. The Taishan cauliflower with lop chang is great. I also really like the string bean and fish cake, as well as the veggie plate with lotus root and lop chang. 3. The staff has always been nice to us. 4. My first impression of this place was that interior is fresh and clean. The staffs were very friendly and efficient in serving us. The foods are very tasty and reasonably priced. Unlike other Canto cafes in the area. It's lunch price for each dish is normally under $12. We got four dishes which included a pea sprout veggie, sweet and sour pork ribs, fried noodle, and a curry beef brisket. All of the dishes were in par with the HK standard. I was satisfied with the taste and authenticity. The ice lemon tea was very refreshing for a hot day in LA. We got ours with half sugar. I don't speak their language but they are always willing to work with me on an order. Pictures and translation apps help alot. We had the chow mein cooked with the sauce separate from the fried noodles (it stays a little crunchy which we love) and also HK style spare ribs in a sweet sauce which they also served on the side. We didn't order it that way but it was delicious! The coating was crispy and we could control the amount of sticky sauce on them. This a simple HK style cafe with a view of the street. The decor looks like a diner. They have a big menu but we generally choose the Cantonese style dishes because the kitchen understands that style. Had wanted to try this place for a while. Stopped by for an early dinner. The place felt spacious and clean. Alice Kitchen is a good place to eat but sometimes it feels a little too cramped and icky so this can be a good alternative. At Longten we sat by the big round window facing the street so it felt especially bright and comfy. Service: Because it was between peak meal hours, there was only one waiter but she was efficient and polite. Food was surprisingly good. It actually reminded me of the old Hong Kong cafes of SGV (if anyone remembers those). Minced beef and egg over rice. The portion was ginormous. We ate so much and still brought home a full takeout box worth. The rice underneath was fried with eggs or "chow fan dai" which deserves extra kudos. The beef gravy had Chinese Broccoli rounds (Gai Lan) which I love because I hate peas and so I didn't have to do the picking peas out thing I always have to do at other places. Baked pork chop spaghetti. Pork chops were really tender. I was about to ask for a knife from the waitress but I just ended cutting it with the side of my fork. The pasta was a huge portion too. The sauce was flavorful enough but more on the chunky side and too thin so it didn't quite stick to the pasta enough. It could of used a little more sauce and more tomato paste. I'm planning to try the pasta Bolognese next time but I hope it's not the same sauce. Baked Seafood rice. Big portions again. Tasted as one would expect. Creamy, good assortment of seafood. The rice again had the fried rice with egg underneath so it was flavorful even on the bites where you didn't have the cream sauce. Rice roll availability was a surprise and the quality was a surprise too. We weren't expecting much but they had a good texture - not the mushy kind. Parking lot directly under the restaurant. Came here on a Sunday for dinner with friends, there was plenty of seats available and the service was friendly! The restaurant itself is very spacious with high ceilings and very clean. For food we ordered baked porkchop with rice, steamed rice roll with shrimp and a club sandwich with fries. Everything tasted really delicious! The shrimp rice rolls were the best of the three though, because they came out so fresh, hot and basically the tastiest rice rolls I've had. For the porkchop, I enjoyed the flavor of this dish but I think it needs more cheese! They only sprinkled a little cheese on it so it wasn't as creamy and yummy as I'm used to. Lastly the club sandos. These are a classic for my friends childhoods and they said it pretty much tastes how it should. To me, I thought they were good but the bread was just a little stale. The beef stew was super authentic and tender. The fried chicken wings were delicious, but pretty expensive; however, chicken wings are expensive everywhere recently. The singapore style rice noodle had plenty of curry taste which I enjoyed. My favorite was the salted fish and chicken fried rice, the rice wasn't mushy and the flavors of the salted fish, chicken, and lettuce worked well together. It's basic Hong Kong style cafe food. We had the baked seafood rice. Wasn't bad and came out piping hot. Good amount of seafood and tasted fresh. We also randomly ordered French fries and fried dumplings. Fries were quite good--crispy but not tough or anything. Dumplings were fried well--not burnt or anything.
