We arrived at Los Amigos around 4:30 PM. We were seated immediately and drinks ordered. They were promptly brought to us. It looked as though this was a shift change and 20 minutes passed before someone came to take our order. Our order of enchiladas and carne ado ads came promptly. The food was warm and flavorful. The beams were firm but not hard. All was scrumptious...well worth waiting for. We took a piece of their four layer carrot cake home for dessert. Had enchiladas and huevos rancheros. The huevos is so good I can say this will be my last meal choice. Had it with green and red chile.chili is kinda spicy but had a great kick to it. We stayed in the best western plus in Santa fe. Came to see the baloon festival2015. This place is 5 minutes from the restaurant and we got take out due to dogs. Will definitely go back. Our 4th visit to Los Amigos. This time I had the pork Carne Adovada cooked in their red sauce. It was smokin' hot!! The flavor was excellent as well. The pork was mostly tender though a few pieces were a little tough. Warning: do not get this platter unless you can handle really hot food! It was served with Spanish rice and pinto beans, both quite good. I also had the lime margarita on the rocks - unfortunately it was not mixed properly. It tasted more like just Triple Sec with only minimal tequila. Avoid the margarita. read more

Very good food. I ordered the beef sopapilla in red chile sauce. My wife had the Carne avivado. My sopapilla was served hot and was very tasty. The rice and beans were on point. The salsa they served with the chips was excellent. Speedy service and cheap. Watch out, it is a bit spicy. My wife had some trouble with the heat. read more

Good new mexican food at a good price. I hit this place about once every two weeks. I love their combo platter relleno, taco, tamale and an enchilada, way too much food but it is good. Breakfast is solid as well. Entree portions are good to a bit large, desert portions are insanely large. Avoid the margaritas they are made from Agave wine and are not a real margarita. read more

Love this place! We eat here often as its close to our home. Servers are always really nice and accommodating and their food is really good! Best steak and enchilada plate in town hands down. Recently, we ordered a slice of carrot cake to go and the slice was enormous - like it could feed 3 people enormous. And it was super moist and delicious. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, it's a good place to go. The service is top notch and every thing I've tried from the menu is tasty, cooked to order and a pleasure to eat. I especially like their green chili stew. The "weekends only" menudo is some of the best around, tender and tasty with just enough red chili and posole. The atmosphere is pleasant and everything is clean and neat. They have some useful options on the very diverse menu. If you seem occasionally challenged by extra large portions they will bring you less. Red or green or Christmas are also mentioned. Don't let the external appearance detour you. The chips and salsa were good and kept coming, the tamale and enchilada I had were great (glad I got red and not the hotter green sauce), my husband had tacos which were wonderful, rice was light and fluffy and not dried out like we usually experience. Los Amigos is by far my favorite New Mexican restaurant in Santa Fe. The food is consistently delicious, the service is sweet and attentive, and the ambiance is homey and welcoming. My boyfriend and I eat in or get take-out from here whenever we're craving some local comfort food. The Tres Amigos enchilada plate and the veggie sausage breakfast burrito are two of my favorites. Awesome Food and Service! What we liked most about the service is every one of the servers helped out the next.....they were exemplary team players and they seemed to having a good time doing it....and they were busy. Food was as good as the service. I had the steak over stacked enchiladas and both were cooked to perfection. And who doesn't love getting sopapillas with your meal. We saved them for our dessert. The green chili stew was also great....with just the right amount of heat. On Sundays from 4pm to 8pm they offer a 15% discount for Seniors! NICE! read more

We eat frequently at Los Amigos. We had a family dinner last night and the food and service was really good. When it was time to pay for our food the owner of Los Amigos took our transaction. He spoke to one of his employees so degrading. It appears he made a big deal about something small. He was clearly in a bad mood. I own several businesses in SF and I know our great employees is part of the success of a business. I will likely not return to a place that doesn't see the value of his employees. Tried this place for the first time today. Good food, great service and great prices! The salsa and chips were very yummy. I had the chicken tacos then tried a pork tamale. Very tasty. The Spanish rice is awesome too. So far it's the best Mexican food since we moved to Santa Fe in January 2018. read more

Excellent service and food; extremely reasonable prices. I had the Navajo taco with red chile, and the red chile is amazing! Yes, the location isn't the fanciest, but who cares? It's part of the friendly ambiance, and the food is what matters anyway. Really really good, straightforward food. We were there for a late lunch on a Friday, and the place was lively and almost full, but our food still came quickly and with plenty of attention from the staff. Also, the full menu was available, including breakfast. Can't wait to return and try something else on the menu. read more

Seems like this place is hit or miss and unfortunately for my group was a miss. We are all native to Santa Fe and have a good understanding of local food and not one of us felt their meal was up to par. service was friendly but slow, many of the food items were overcooked such as the enchiladas had hard overcooked corn tortillas and the fried egg was basically a hard boiled egg. The guacamole had chunks of oxidized back avocado. Hope they just had a bad night but seems they need rethink their kitchen crew. read more

Not the best I eaten but it's not bad. We used to go often it's pretty close to home but we no longer go. Mainly because the staff is always very pushy and not very friendly trying to get us to leave and when asking for refills they give you dirty looks . My wife and I visit Los Amigos regularly, except that they have been closed lately for remodeling. We are anxious to go back, tonight probably. The food is very good and the service is usually fast, always friendly! I like the enchiladas and my wife's favorite is the chile relleno plate, which I agree is one of the best in SF. I literally watched as my server accidentally delivered my hamburger and french fries to the wrong table. As the customer begins to eat the french fries, he realizes the order is not his, and summons the server. The server goes to his table, picks up the plate of food and realizes that it was my order. He then directly takes the plate from the other customers table and sets it on my table, after the customer had already eaten off the plate. I was absolutely disgusted! read more

This is one of our go to New Mexican food stops. Big portions, tasty food, and pleasant wait staff. Try the Amigo burger, the green chile stew, or the Denver omellette. Those are my top three anyway.
