Carne Asada French Fries - Large

This was the portion for their carne asada fries, small, super small. Now we cannot order a half order of carne asada fries, and we forced to order a full size with their policy. One would expect that when paying a higher price for a larger portion, that you would receive more food, but clearly that wasn't the case. We ordered this through the drive through and no one was in line, and yet still the fries were raw, and lack of cheese and fries makes it abysmal. Plz do better!

This is something I will likely see when I get to heaven.. words can't describe the aroma of this plate of delicious and delectable gluttony

Full asada nachos, all the wayThis delicious and delectable creation you see in this pic is likely something I will see when I get to heaven . I got my Mexican Coke and a bottle of Rolaids and here I go

A very large burrito resting on my thigh because it was too big to hold.

Simply outstanding. The service at 6 a.m. was cheerful and with a smile but the food. Whew, let's talk about that. First delicious. Second holy goodness and all things that make you happy. This size of the burrito was enormous. Burger King has the "eggnormous" burrito but this puts that baby burrito to shame. Look I'm not small and I love my food. I eat not until I'm full but I eat until it is gone. I could not finish this monster. And the bacon??? Tons of it and big enough to actually know there was bacon there, but there was not so much that it was overpowering. Simply put it was dare I say, a perfect burrito. Now since it was six in the morning and I was using the drive-through I didn't go in, so I don't know how the inside ambience was, but I can tell you there was enough locals in there That the authenticity of this food, and this establishment was beyond reproach. Given the chance again, I would go there and eat everything I possibly could and I encourage everyone to do the same.

After grabbing an Uber order from this restaurant I decided this was my next place to try. The "Salsa bar" sold me! 6 different kinds of fresh made salsa, pickled spicy jalapenos and carrots, plus lime slices. The menu is pretty large ranging from Breakfasts deals (3 breakfast tacos - eggs with either bacon , chorizo or potato and cheese for $3.99) to full combo plates of Carnitas to Tortas. They also have a wonderful choice of smaller plates like a Cabeza taco with rice and beans for $5.75 or Fish taco with rice and beans for same price. I chose the 2 crunchy chicken tacos with rice and beans for $8.00. We were brought a warm basket of chips and got to go chose our own salsas etc from the "salsa bar". My go to is always SALSA VERDE- it was amazing. Their pickled carrots are to die for. I must have eaten 8 or 9 pieces. They also have a great choice of desserts. Cheesecake, Tres Leche , and Chocolate Ganache. For my meal and my daughter's plate of Carnitas plus Tres Leche to go and 2 drinks we only spent $30.01. With leftovers! The customer service was wonderful. The food truly fresh and hot. They stayed busy the entire time we were there so I know they must be a local favorite! Check em out!

The California burrito and chimichanga at this place are absolutely fantastic! My husband and I love it

Out of a 1-10 ratio we rated it an 8 the service is quick and friendly you get your food very fast the portions are very big for the price and it's a very chill atmosphere you can come 24/7 they always have specials and it's pretty good for the convenience. I will definitely be back though for a late light snack when I need it!

First time here let me start that they do have a salsa bar with a good selection of different kind of hot , mild salsas I ordered the beef and shrimp burrito it was good but they had a big chunks of meat in there and some peaches were hard to chew it was tasty tho Tripas tacos were good and soft as ordered There was only one person attending and I was not impressed with the service it can be improved This location is by 410 and Ingram This is an small place but they are open I believe 24 hours so if you're looking for a late night meal this is your go

It was very small for the price paid.

Kind of a little disappointed this time around. For the price of the 3 items purchased last night, it felt skimpy. Come on, you're better than that and it wasn't even busy during the time. I would of brought my bag bag if it weren't for the massive heavy traffic jams and construction. This was the outcome $16 worth with two burritos and a drink. Still love the place but still baffled what was given.

I was so excited to try their carne asada fries, but they ended up just being okay. With all of the Mexican food available in San Antonio this place just missed the mark. Two of us ended up feeling sick after eating there also. I breast feed my baby, and he also ended up getting sick, so we definitely will not be going back.

    Hair in the Cali burrito.
    IahNa K.

Really unfortunate cause I enjoyed the Cali b here but yesterday I found a hair in my burrito. And I wouldn't have even known it was there had I not cut right into the middle and saw it in the midst of melted cheese. I would've consumed that and not even realized.

However, this time I had something I hadn't tried before, which was the portobello torta, check the pic posted here, but I warn you, if a pic says 1k words, then a taste says a bagillion words (is that even English ?). But that's what happens when umami meets Mexican bliss. When your order is taken with pleasure and prepared before your eyes at this bustling establishment, it's flair mixed with fair. Go check out what has me coming back for more, time and time again. As I left, with my road tacs, the owner reminded me that the food travels well, I neglected to inform her that I didn't expect them to make it very far . Again, it's a must see scene here at Plantaqueria- hope to see y'all there.

(It had Just Egg but I think other things added with it. It felt that it was softer and lighter than if it was only Just Egg) and pico de gallo on handmade flour tortilla. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Their two self-serve complementary salsas were also fun and creamy. Concha- Delicious and we liked the top of it. Maybe one of our favorite conchas. Elote hot cake - Came out really hot and was delicious. These are only available on weekends. I was tempted to get more but we had lots more food targets on the schedule. Torta with Asada was pretty good too. But the other items excited me more I think. The person at the front also gave us some samples of other taco fillings to try: the fillings of the La Ranchera: Potatoes and pico de gallo in salsa ranchera and also grilled nopales. My husband who is usually not as crazy as me about nopales liked them here. They have mole on the weekends but it's not housemade from scratch. They use premade mole and add some more things to it so we skipped that one. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

The smell alone made me think we were in for something special. We grabbed a couple of cocktails and ordered tacos, which seemed like the obvious choice. The tacos were good, but that's about where I'd leave it. They weren't bad at all, but they also weren't particularly memorable. With the aroma coming from the grill and all the recommendations I'd heard, I was expecting a little more flavor and a bigger wow factor. The atmosphere was fun, the service was good, and the charcoal grill definitely adds to the experience. I just found the food itself to be more "solid" than "spectacular." I'd rate it about a 7 out of 10. Worth trying if you're already at El Camino, but not a place I'd go out of my way for.

That's exactly the energy at Los Weyes de la Asada. From the second you walk up, it feels alive. Not in a forced way, more like you've been there before, even if it's your first time. The kind of place where your stress, your diet, even your cruda takes a backseat. Now the food. No overthinking needed here. Everything coming out of that truck is a straight up pow pow of flavor. The carne is cooked just right, juicy with that perfect char, and the corn tortillas are legit, soft but with enough structure to hold everything together. I ordered the Mamón and the Chingón, and honestly, both lived up to the names. No misses. And the agua fresca de fresa? That sealed it. They serve it in a little bolsita, which somehow makes it hit even better. Simple, nostalgic, and just cool. It's all tucked inside El Camino, which adds to the whole vibe, string lights, people hanging out, that easygoing outdoor feel where you lose track of time a little.

Pulled up on a Friday late night with my family ordered the standard 5 tacos. They are a bit pricey as well. I ordered the carne Asada and my mother in law ordered the chicken. While it did seem like it tasted good it was super greasy. (TMI coming up) When I woke up the next morning my I noticed my bowels were literally moving the next day, (I counted about 9 times). I felt bloated and everything. My wife even told me that as we were pulling off she witnessed the cook I believe his name is Julio eating some of the product while he was preparing peoples food (the side door of the food truck was open so you could see right in). Funny enough we decided to go back Saturday evening to give them another try, thinking it would be better, BOY was we wrong. I ordered the same order plus charro Beans, elote (corn in a cup) and 3 cans of sprite. This time we took literally one bite and the meat was DRYER than the Saharan desert both the carne asada and the chicken. (Tasted like some reheated old meat or meat that had been made days prior). We were already at the hotel at this point and was infuriated!!! We ended up calling and I believe I spoke to Julio (or whoever the cook is) over the phone. After lying saying that he cooked the meat fresh that day he stuttered I told him aint no way the meat was fresh. He then said and I quote " I cooked the meat "a couple days ago" then said "sorry I burnt it or overcooked it". (Knowing that why would you serve that to me?) I then stated "yes it tasted old period". I requested a refund in which he agreed to. Driving all the way back I brought the food back as well. Julio (or whoever the cooks name is) tried to plead his case to me saying that the meat is fresh and took a fork and tasted the food himself and then tried to offer me the food. I told him "no I don't want to taste it, just refund me please" in which he did. Dishonesty, Not handling food with care, lying. Is something that crosses the line and I won't be back. *Also if the owner is reading this I have the phone conversation recorded and the video evidence to show proof this whole interaction, so do not just glaze over this review* I don't like writing bad reviews, but this one is for sure warranted. Seems like they will dress up the taco and selling you some "old meat" people just be careful and mindful when coming to this taco truck. "The Earths Best Taco" they say... that's a stretch!
