Was a patron of theirs at a pop up. Per the flyer, they were supposed to be selling by 5 pm, but they started selling at around 6 pm. My mom waited in line and was the first to order. First, when my mom ordered, they overcharged her. Thankfully, she caught it and they corrected the amount. She paid, but realized she hadn't put in the full order - she missed 5 tacos I had texted her about. I met her at the line - she had not even received any food - and asked if we could add the 5 tacos. The man said no, because it wasn't fair to the other clients in line. I'd get it if we had already gotten our order then came back, but we were literally still at the register waiting for our food. Unsavory behavior, I regretted that we had even already paid for any of their food. Overall, not great because 1. they were an hour late 2. they overcharged my mom had to catch it 3. they were unkind when she asked to add the stuff she missed. Flautas were okay, but they were big. My family and I will certainly not be a patron of theirs ever again! read more

I have never been to their brick and mortar. I have had Los Dorados a couple of times when they are posted up at the La Cienaga Farmers Market on Saturdays. I ordered their flautas and as you can see in my picture, they are hella dressed up! Great crunch, filling and super delicious, Los Dorardos meets my craving for deep fried food! I keep an eye on La Cienaga Farmers Market socials to keep an eye on when they are in our side of town. read more

Drove by and saw flautas on the menu and felt snacky so gave this a try! I was not disappointed. They roll up different fillings in a large corn tortilla here and I went with chicken and potato chorizo for my first visit. It was crunchy, flavorful, and great finger food. Nothing was too spicy either. All the sauces were delicious so def get them dressed up. I was recommended to try the bean and cheese, or shredded beef next time. Simple menu where everything is 2 pieces each order. Around $8 an order The owner was friendly and a chill guy. I'd recommend a try if you're looking for no frills and simply delicious food :) read more

Driving home from a night out in Hollywood, we originally planned to grab Thai food--but parking was a nightmare, so we bailed and headed home using surface streets. That's when we spotted Los Dorados LA, and it hit us--we'd had their food before when they were running a food truck, and the flautas were incredible. We pulled over and found parking in the lot next door, walked up to the shop, and realized they were closing in 10 minutes. Even so, the guy working the spot was super friendly and welcomed us in to order anyway. A couple folks were still hanging out on the outdoor patio, and the grill was going strong with fresh corn roasting--such a great late-night vibe. We each ordered two flautas (shredded beef and potato with chorizo) and one taco (we went with chicken), along with a Mexican Coke and a Topo Chico. The food was just as delicious as we remembered--crispy, flavorful, and super satisfying. We ate outside at one of the tables, soaking in the last bit of the night before heading home full and happy. This kind of spontaneous stop is what LA food is all about. This place has the best flautas I've ever tasted and feel so lucky for it to be near my neighborhood. They're well known for their potato flautas and they are definitely the best. But when I found out they also had chorizo potato, I stuck with that since then! Flavorful, crunchy, delicious. They used to be a food truck that only showed up on certain days and hours, but now they have their own stationary place with tables and settings. Parking is ample on the street. Highly recommended whether you want a snack or a meal. read more

tl;dr expect addictively crunchy flautas and top-notch salsa verde, but steer clear from the boring potato filling or the subpar mole The Los Angeles taco scene is equal parts saturated and contentious. Across the many players, one operation is routinely applauded for their fried flautas: Los Dorados LA. As the name suggests, this taco trailer specializes in tacos dorados ("golden tacos"). When not popping up at Smorgasburg or hosting a private event, they typically operate in El Sereno on the industrial Alhambra Ave. If you are zooming by, you may well miss the EZ-Up on the patio space beside a brick-and-mortar Mexican restaurant. The vibrant food cart is tucked back into the gated lot. Insulated coolers, bubbling deep fryers, and a mini salsa section comprise the Los Dorados' "kitchen". Spanish-language house music blasts from a standalone speaker. My partner and I arrived right at opening on a Friday evening, still facing a short line. The trim menu was limited to just 5 items, all flautas -- the only question was how many we could reasonably consume. We ended up opting for the Chicken, the Shredded Beef, and the Potato with Chorizo. The pre-prepared flautas were fried-to-order and prepared in 10 minutes. The hefty corn tortillas were tightly wrapped into quarter-sized rolls. The outer tortilla was as crispy as a chip, while the inner roll more closely resembled an enchilada. Each flauta was drenched in salsa and a heavy sprinkle of queso cotija. We loved the tangy salsa verde, while the mole sauce tasted relatively dull and one-dimensional. Of the filling varieties, the tender chicken tinga was a clear winner, while the bland potato option lacked any discernible chorizo. The tacos rival Dodger Dogs in size, and an order of 2 runs $9. After 3 full flautas (1.5 orders), I was reasonably full; I could probably have polished off another if I were particularly ravenous. While the potato filling fell flat, the chicken flauta (which, by default, was paired with the salsa verde) was superb; I expect to be a repeat customer for this crave-worthy combination. read more

A small little truck or trailer (?) open a few days a week located on an off street and Alhambra. I came here on a Friday night after work and there was some music blaring at the building next door. This gave the little area a nice lively atmosphere. The folks here are super friendly and really easy to order from. This place specializes specifically in flautas. I ordered the potato with chorizo flautas which came topped with a green sauce, some crema, and cojita cheese. The flautas were perfectly fried with a really nice crunch/crêpes on the outside. The fillings were very flavorful as well. I got my order as they like to prepare it because seriously all the flavors melt it together perfectly. A little sweet, a little spicy, but not too spicy. Just really great flavors and textures. If you want other types of tacos, there's some other options nearby as well. It really does feel like a mini food row/market in the area. I definitely wanna come back and try some other flavors, especially since they use a different sauce and some of the other options. read more

We found these folks at Smorgasburg LA and followed them to their different locations in Pasadena, Long Beach, Alhambra, and what is now their permanent location El Sereno because they offer the best flautas in Los Angeles and its not even close. From the sauce to the perfectly seasoned and cooked chicken & beef there is absolutely no reason not to reward your tastebuds. Bing bang pow, all in yo mouth! Los Dorados is a must EVERY time I hit Smorgasburg! These crispy, crunchy, meaty flautas are irresistible and I love that! They've got plenty of flautas to choose from: lamb barbacoa, black bean, potato, potato and chorizo, and chicken tinga! Pick a pair or find a friend who wants to swap because mixing fillings isn't allowed. I've only had the Chicken Tinga and they are poppin' every single time! They automatically top the flautas with green salsa, red salsa, crema, and cheese, so be prepared. The salsas aren't hot, but they do provide a delicious lacquer on top of some already delicious flautas. I love that the flautas stay crispy with the sauce, however I would only recommend eating them right on the spot. Otherwise I'm sure they'd get a little soggy on the ride home. They'd be soggy, but probably still delicious. For $9 for a pair, I am not mad at the price. This is going to be an unpopular review, don't throw shade. I have been waiting forevs to try this place and I finally did last wknd. I was totally disappointed. All of the reviews for this place are stellar and to me, I couldn't have been more disappointed. As pictured, I got the barbacoa flautas because my fave flautas are shredded beef and this was closest to that. If you've read my other reviews you know I prefer green sauce so I got one flauta the way it's supposed to come and the other one with green sauce because I didn't want to miss out trying the green sauce. Well, I can't even tell you what the meat tasted like because my tastebuds were out of whack after the initial spicy bite. There is a red sauce they drizzle on top and perhaps that is what caused my tastebuds to whirl with spiciness. I'm willing to give this place one more shot and the next time I will omit the sauce that's drizzled for a more accurate tasting. The staff here is friendly and there are a few benches to sit down at. Credit cards are accepted. Street parking was easy to find. read more

Wow! So bomb! This is my new go-to! The flautas were so flavorful. The crunch was 10/10. Nothing worse than a soggy flauta. The toppings were perfect. Just the right amount of everything. The spice was on point. Not too spicy but definitely had a little kick to them. The meat was seasoned just right. I can't think of anything that would've made these any better. All three flavors were our favorite. (Choosing only one would be like choosing your favorite child. Impossible) The pricing was really fair. We weren't too sure how much to order but the lovely woman at the cash register gave us great advice and recommended us to go with 3 flautas each since we both had a decent appetite and she was right. The three was just right. We both were full but not overly stuffed. The location was chill and they offered some cool seating while you wait for your food. Location is super easy to find and we didn't struggle with finding any parking. Crunch for days This is THE place for hard tacos. And I when i said hard, i meant crispy and crunchy. The kind of crunch that does not soggy, does not test your jaw strength, and won't stab your gums (talk about your food fighting back huh). If you see the price a bit high, think of it they give two tacos for each order (because they do). It feels more like a dine in place rather than taco truck because the taco is served as a complete dish. You don't have to pick and choose salsa and condiments. It's ready to eat. And be ready to get messy. They don't provide utensils, it's finger food they say. But i don't see any 'handle' on the food, it's all smothered with salsa. Chorizo and potato taco is amazing! The crunch is just perfect. The barbacoa taco is a bit tough, and probably because it's wet, the center of the taco doesn't get fried perfectly. But it's still a pretty nice meal. Though i do think, if i can have different tacos in a bowl then it would be perfect. Found them at Smorgasburg and became a fan! We have tried almost all their flavors. My recommendation would be their "potato flautas & potato con chorizo flautas." The flautas were crunchy on the outside, and the potato filling was moist and flavorful on the inside. And I really enjoyed the house-made salsa verde sauce, it paired so well with the potato flautas. Other flavors on the menu were pretty decent too. Overall, yummy flautas! Probably one of the best we have had in LA. Also, it's a great option at Smorgasburg. (You can't miss it. They are right by the entrance) Def worth trying! read more

This review is solely for the food as I have not had the pleasure of stopping by and dining there (my husband brings me takeout from them, so I eat at home). I just need to say that you haven't had a flauta if you haven't tried these flautas. They are freaking good! Yes, their sauce is spicy af but it's part of the experience. Love Los Dorados and their perfect flautas- we always have an itch and craving, and find them either in Pico Rivera or East LA. They are so worth the drive! All of the options are delicious but our favorites are the potato, black bean and chicken flautas. The combination of the green sauce with the coteja cheese are mouthwatering! Delicious! This is the same stand that was in Highland Park. They're in El Sereno more often now. Same, great flautas! My favorite is the potato with chorizo. Love all the toppings and sauces they put on top. I also tried the chicken tinga which I thought was decent too. In the second round (which is what I took pics of since I forgot the first time), we also tried the black bean flautas. It was good, but a bit spicy for me. I would still order it though . Right near this location is a parking lot where we parked and ate. There's a small market if you're in the mood for some alcohol with your flautas too! Venmo or Cash only. read more

We were at the City Terrace Art Walk and sat down in the shaded table area to rest for a bit. We noticed many people eating taquitos, which looked good. We decided to try it-- they were actually flautas from Los Dorados LA. Tried the potato chorizo flautas, which were delicious! What a great combination--didn't really taste like chorizo or potato, but was so flavorful and moist, with a crunchy exterior. Also, the guacasalsa and sour cream with cheese topping was great, making it all around excellent! Highly recommended! Portion size was great for the price ($8 for two). Service was great as well. I had to wait in line to order, and then wait to receive my order, but it wasn't too bad. Worth the wait. It's actually my first time trying and knowing this food. I would have called it "fried stick" because of my ignorance. The stick is crispy and topped with delicious toppings. It was a bit spicy for me but the cheese makes it milder and yummier. Be sure to eat it fresh while it's still hot and crispy. Great for snacks or meal. read more

The lamb barbacoa tacos had no flavor in the meat. I think it might've needed to be braised longer to be more tender and flavorful. I also didn't like the Chile sauce it was topped with as it tasted like ground ancho chiles but it was missing seasoning maybe some cumin or something. I also tried the chorizo tacos which had no chorizo but instead had the flavoring of chorizo in the excess of potatoes. Definitely glad I didn't get the potato tacos as they must be the same. By far the best we're the chicken tacos. Loved the combination of sauce and cotija cheese with the juicy flavorful shredded chicken. Next time this is all I'm ordering when I'm in the mood for crunchy rolled tacos. read more

I come to Smorgasburg every once in a while, and I always pass this place telling myself I'm going to try it. I always end up getting something else and missing that opportunity. Boy was I stupid after I tried it I immediately found myself craving this more often than I probably should. So I investigated the food truck and found other locations there show up at. I've always been a street taco kind-of-girl but my neighbor put me on to Los Dorados LA recently and now I am loving flautas. What's a flauta? Go to Los Dorados LA to find out! Thankfully their truck is frequently parked within walking distance from our house so I can get my craving satisfied within minutes. They frequently post their schedule on their Instagram @losdoradosla. They come in orders of 2 so my husband and I usually order 3-4 different types and share one of each. These flautas are long and crispy, measuring about 8 inches. I liked the chorizo papa one the most because of the green salsa and cheese. I came here to because of all the great reviews. Per instagram, yelp and google the hours are 11am-8pm on Wednesday and the window tag has an OPEN sign. To my surprise, they were not OPEN. 1 review for misleading info regarding service times. As far as the food goes, no comments. read more

I've gotten the Al Pastor tacos, the Carne Asada burrito, and my girlfriend usually gets the Lengua tacos. Let me just say that these tacos are arguably some of the best tacos in LA. The Al Pastor, carved fresh off the trompo, served with salsa, crema, and piña is seriously delicious. The Asada burrito I got the first time is simple and straight to the point, beans, cheese, asada, onion, and cilantro. The tortillas, at the least the maiz, are made by hand. The flour tortillas for the burritos are tasty. They have a few stools outside to sit down and eat your food as it comes straight from the kitchen. It is limited for seating during busy nights, so be prepared to eat standing up if need be, street taco style. I promise it's worth it! In all, we usually go here after a night out and there is always a line, but it's worth the wait. It would be dangerous if this place was closer to home because we'd eat it every day!

I also don't remember the tacos tasting like this two years ago. I know this restaurant is from Tijuana, but honestly, I think Los Angeles has better al pastor options.
