I have been eating at Los Tios since I was about 6 years old. That is 40 years. I grew up in Meyerland and always ate at the original location. I had yet to find a better Los Tios until tonight. The food was beyond incredible and we had the best waiter Manny. I wish I could give them 10 stars. But out of 1 out of 10 I give them a 10!! What a perfect dinner. When you come ask for Manny. Very slow service. Had to get our food to-go after waiting an hour to get it. Simple TexMex. Salsa is good. Chips are fresh. Many other local places better in flavor and service. And note on you bill that the tip is already added in. read more

Excellent food and service. Everything seems to be handmade and delicious. Waiter was very attentive. My son had the taco al carbon and the beef fajita was flavorful and tender. I had the beef tacos ad the shells were handmade light and crispy. This is a must stop for Mexican food. read more

Food and service are superb. cleanliness of the restaurant is not so hot! cobwebs all over chandelier, mold and dust hanging off ceiling tiles where air conditioning is coming out. Water is dripping from several different ceiling tiles, vinyl in booths is torn, springs in booths are shot. Sit in a chair, and check for leaks in ceiling before you select a table, and be sure the scary hostess without a smile and doesn't seat you. read more

I ordered fajitas here and when we got home we noticed there were no tortillas. We heated up pizza, ate, and brought the food back. Well now I'm here and they are arguing with me about getting a refund. I shouldn't have to drive twice to get my food and we were hungry. They acted like it was my mistake and wouldn't refund me until after 5 minutes of arguing. The manager was extremely rude and unprofessional. Finally they broughht one employee i think that was the general manager over and he settled everything. Never coming back here there are plenty of other options nearby. read more

Love eating at Los Tios. The staff is always friendly. Food is good, service is excellent and the Margarita's are the best in town.

Went there for the first time on my birthday. The salsa is really good. There was also some sort of creamy green sauce they brought with the chips. It wasn't bad, it just didn't have any taste. I had the chicken enchiladas verdes. it was very good. I also had the guacamole. I didn't care for it. It was a little liquidy and had absolutely no taste whatsoever. My daughter encouraged me to get dessert since it was my birthday (which the waitress heard) so I ordered the flan. They came, stuck a sombrero on my head and sang happy birthday to me. I was a little mortified but the flan was really tasty and they didn't charge me for it. The environment was nice and quiet. read more

we have been going to this restaurant for the past 5 years and this is the worst service or more accurately lack of service we've ever experienced. we stand at the end of the bar where customers place their to go orders. first there was a female employee on her phone who totally ignored us. then a male employee walks behind the bar and starts mixing drinks and he doesn't even look our way. another femsle employee walks up to him and asks him are you going to wait on them? he answers yes but still never acknowledges us even then. after he finishes mixing his drinks he walks over to two ladies already seated at the bar and asks them if they need anything right next to where we are standing and then we had to ask if we can place an order? this is either poor training or no training obviously since 3 employees had the same "dont give a darn attitude". read more

I eat out 2 or 3 days a week. I tend to pick places that have adequate service and good food. Sadly, tonight, only one of those criteria was met. Our cheese enchiladas were so tough, it almost took a knife to cut them. On top of that, the queso puff was chewy, not crisp. The service, however, was top notch. read more

Our friend Alfred Fuentes told us he worked there at Los Tios. We live in Jacksonville Florida. Were originally from Galveston Texas but my husband was in the Navy so we retired in Jacksonville Florida and we came home to visit for vacation. Our first stop was Los Tios. Mr Alfredo welcome us in Merlyn was our waitress great service friendly very professional. The food was great the best we have had in years we want to move back to Galveston and we'd definitely would be regulars there at Los Tios. The people who visit this place seriously don't have any taste buds. The worst Mexican food I have ever attempted to eat. Drink are good but food is horrible. My husband and I shared a beef quesadilla but ended up sending it back. Tasted like straight up oil. So we got chicken instead and it was just as disgusting. Seconds location I've tried and disappointed yet again. Stay away! If your taste buds don't work this is a great spot for you. read more

Los Tios is a standard in the First Colony area. It has been around for ages and their food has always been consistent. We go there at least once every couple of months (I wish more, but my waistline couldn't handle that) and always have a good time. My favorites are their fajita chicken salad, their puffy tacos, margarita on the rocks, and the beef fajita tacos. All really good! read more

Have been to this place on a couple of lazy Sunday afternoons and this place was perfect - laidback ambiance and surprisingly a lot of older folks having good time. came here on a Sunday for lunch. it's right by the house so we decided to give it a try. we had the queso with taco meat, fish tacos, and beef fajitas for one. we thought all of it was great. big bowl of queso, the sauce on the fish tacos was divine, the beef fajitas cost 17.95 and was enough for 3-4 tacos. the prices are very decent and service was great. the waiter came and refilled my water and checked on us multiple times. i gave it 4 stars for being convenient, good service, decent prices and they have online ordering which is a big plus for us in the area. read more

Decent service did not make up for lackluster food or marked up prices. To be fair, the grilled beef in my enchilada was quite good but was let down and betrayed by everything else on the plate, especially the beans. I had a group buying deal so my beau and I decided to stop by. The food isn't the best tex-mex in the area, but it is decent. The house margarita on the rocks is a favorite as well as their green salsa dip. The meatless entree plate was good, but they asked if I wanted chili meat sauce on it, which I thought was odd. Plus the waiter asked how old I was when ordering my drink than kept looking at me odd even after I told him. If you want to see my id that is fine, but don't give me the evil eye for not producing it if you don't ask. The main problem I had is the plate was so hot that when my arm accidentally grazed the plate that it left a long burn mark on my arm that is going to take days to heal. That is very dangerous if you have children. I don't know how the plates get so hot...microwave, oven, heating lamp? However, they should make a point to not let them get that hot. I know they tell you the plate is hot when the food is delivered, but it is easy enough to bump into a plate when it is right in front of you. read more

I love the different flavor of the mesquite grilled chicken, whether as just plain fajitas or enchiladas. Their margaritas are tasty & service has never been bad. My only complaint with them is they're a bit too pricey. There are several restaurants in the area serving good Mexican food at better prices. I will continue to go back because I love the flavor, just not very often. Definitely worth a trip. read more

I've been going to this Los Tios since it was about the only restaurant in First Colony, way back in 1985. The service is always excellent, the food delicious and the price reasonable. They serve all the traditional Mexican favorites you might expect to see at a family run operation. My only complaint is their salsa. To me it tastes like Pace or some similar store bought variety. I can live with this one issue. Bring me a Rita and that taco plate. Ah! read more
