I reserved a fire pit for a special occasion several weeks in advance however this weekend with swells the staff was not sure we'd be able to enjoy the experience. But even with that Jordyn, the assistant manager - I believe was incredibly accommodating and made it happen. I was very appreciative of that considering this was many of our families first trip to the Laguna area. We enjoyed the experience even if we were unable to actually go into the water. Our newly found favorite. We ordered fish and chips and ceviche. Ceviche was fresh but too salty and sour. We called it bottomless ceviche...it looked small but actually lots of it! Fish and chips were the best we've had so far. Of course the environment is perfect. You're right at the beach! Next time we'll bring the blanket to the beach and order a lot of fish and chips and we will have the perfect picnic. read more

Perfect spot to grab food at Aliso Creek beach. We wanted to get a quick bite for dinner without having to go to the main town, so we walked over to Lost Pier. There is only outdoor table seating with shade, with a great view of the ocean. We ordered the fried chicken burger and fish tacos. Both came with chips and salsa. These were all delicious! Hits the spot. We enjoyed our meal while admiring the beautiful view of the ocean and coming sunset. read more

Lost Pier Cafe is an incredible establishment that shares the view with the food! The location is right next to the beach with provided benches to look off into the water. Me and my girlfriend went here and I ordered the Fish and Chips. The Fish and Chips were juicy, crispy, and piping hot when received. The fries felt a lack of salt on top but not bad. The service was also quick, probably helped with where the location was at but, overall Lost Pier Cafe is an incredible gem, and if you're looking for a great place to eat by the beach, then this is the place to choose! read more

My husband & I walked over to the Lost Pier Cafe for breakfast. We were staying at the Ranch. It's about a 10-minute walk. There's a paid parking lot there, but it was filling up quickly with people going to Aliso Beach. I got a honey oat latte and avocado toast. My husband got a breakfast burrito. The food was good, but we probably wouldn't have gone there if it hadn't been right on the beach. You order at the window. The people who work there are friendly. The seating is all outside with a view of the ocean. They do have bathrooms. It's very casual and kid-friendly. read more

Love the location directly at Aliso Beach. Paid parking available. Restrooms available at restaurant/beach. You order at the window and your number is called when food is ready. The food was tasty and they have a selection of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. Lots of picnic style tables with umbrellas for shade. First come first serve. Alcohol must be consumed on the restaurant patio. Super convenient if you're hanging at the beach but it's directly off of PCH and easy to pop in for a bite. Great to grab a bev and watch the sunset. read more

Hidden gem! Food was really good and not your average fast food beach shack food. The service was great with recommendations. Little pricey but was very delicious. I recommend the clam chowder, the fries, and the fish tacos. I ordered the lobster roll which was also good but that was pricey. Food came out pretty fast. We got sodas to which they have fountain soda and was very crisp and flavorful for again a casual beachfront fast food establishment. The table seating was very clean for being on a beach and how casual the setting is. Would come back again. read more

When I want to go on a quick ride locally, Lost Pier at Aliso Beach is my default stop for quality grub. I've had their breakfast burrito, lobster roll, and many other items which are amazing. It's the only beachfront cafe where you can eat, drink (when I'm not riding or driving), and watch the shore break. The beach parking lot gets super crowded on the weekends so week days you can pull right up. read more

Fish and Chips were made with rock fish and it was HUGE and tasty. The chips were so good. I couldn't finish them and didn't want to throw them away so I took them home and put them in the air fryer that night and they were just as good. Fish and Chips were $19. The banana mocha latte was also very good. My partner got an iced tea and it was decent. I heard the party in front of us talking about how you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Knocked off one star because I really wanted the breakfast burrito and I called earlier in the day and asked if breakfast was served all day and was told yes. When I got there the menu indicated that it was only served until 12pm. It's a popular place so you have to stand around waiting for a table to open up or bring a blanket and sit on the beach. We were lucky to find both parking and a table quickly. read more

SoCal native but have never really explored Laguna Beach. Found this place on Yelp and took a leap of faith. The fish and chips were 10/10, it was every crispy food lover's dream. The lobster roll, I would skip, a bit skimpy with the meat and the flavor was lacking. As far as service, you go up and order. Lobster rolls is market price, we paid about $76 for 2. It was packed with lobster meat and very fresh. Clam chowder was also great. The Cafe is right next to the Laguna park lot, don't have to struggle for parking. It was so nice to seat in shade and enjoy the food and ocean. read more

We went here about 1135 am on Saturday, day before Mothers Day...parking was a mess. You do have to pay, but sit somewhere and wait for someone to move out of their spot, we did. Have to be a bit aggressive, but nice. Make sure you pay, they will ticket you! It is quick service, you order at register, they call your name or give u a beeper. They do have beer and mixed drinks. We ordered the Lobster Roll, Ceasar Salad, Mai Tai and a Coors Light. Ceasars for $15 was fantastic! Lobster Roll was $38 (Market Price), Lobster Roll was a bit underwhelming, not enough flavor for me but presentation and chips were great! I'd go here again, definitely worth it... Don't underestimate this little shack! They've got a surprisingly great selection of tasty dishes and an unbeatable ocean view right on the sand. The food was prepared fast, and everything was delicious. The Fish Tacos were loaded with toppings (mostly cabbage) and came with a salsa that wasn't too spicy, which I loved. The tortilla chips were the real star as they were generously dusted with a citrus lime seasoning. Such a great spot to relax and enjoy a bite by the beach! read more

Disclaimer: This rating is just based on their fries, menu, amenities. Really liked that this cafe is right on the beach! They have alcoholic drinks (Made with Soju) and beers for pretty reasonable prices. $6 a beer depending which kind, and about $12 for a soju cocktail. I wanted to get snack after hanging out at the beach, and tried their fries, it was super good! Very crispy with some seasoning, also came with a really good garlic aoli sauce. Also liked how they had cups and a water refill station outside for people to use. read more

Food: 2/5 Service: n/a Ambiance: 3/5 This place is right next to the beach so it's a convenient place to eat if you get hungry while there. It's not its own cafe or has its own restaurant. The only seating is outdoors and it's more of a to-go place where you order and then pick a table to sit. We thought this was a cafe but we had to walk down to the beach to access this place unless you want to pay for parking. It's next to all the bathrooms on the beach, but it does have a nice view of the beach. The food is okay and definitely overpriced. I got a small serving of fruit & whipped cream for $11, and the fish tacos were 2/$18. Only if you're really hungry I'd get something. read more

Nice cafe by the beach by a parking lot. Not a lot of seating but cafe is right on the sand so you can easily get a blanket to sit on the sand with and enjoy the food and the view. We ordered the Tuna Poke Bowl and the Fish and chips. The Tuna Poke Bowl serving was a bit small. It had some rice, some spring mix, tuna, spicy mayo, furikake and some crunchies. Taste was good because I love tuna but nothing spectacular. The fish and chips came with a big piece of deep fried fish fillet that was very crispy but lacking in flavor. Fries were very good, crispy and tasty. Definetely coming back for the view but would like to try their other items on the menu. read more

Took about 15-20 minutes to get my lunch after ordering. I ordered 2 plain burger patties for lunch today and they were delicious!! They were juicy. Brought my dog with me and she enjoyed herself. This little place was quite the discovery for a fun lunch on the beach. It's a 12 minute walk from our hotel, the Montage, located right on Aliso beach. Orders are taken at the window and you're given a buzzer/pager that goes off when your order is at the pickup window. We had the BLT with avocado and fish tacos. The French fries are insanely good! Established in 2018.

In 2018, Lost Pier Cafe opened at the site of the former Aliso Creek Pier in Laguna Beach. The oceanfront cafe welcomes local legends and sleepy explorers for fresh, beachside, artistically curated California coastal bites. With the sound of the surf and the feeling of sand between your toes allow Laguna’s natural beauty to set the pace for a true California retreat. Dive into a basket of fresh fish and chips or savor our signature coffee and warm beignets as the sun rises and sets on another day in paradise.

Meet the Manager: Chef Kyle S.

Kyle St. John is the Executive Chef at Lost Pier Café, The Ranch at Laguna Beach, and our sister café, Young's Beach Shack in Dana Point. Kyle joined The Ranch at Laguna Beach in 2016 bringing his passion of farm-to-table cooking and fresh, locally-sourced California coastal cuisine. Kyle’s love for food started in the kitchen with his family’s cooking and Grandmother's recipes, which led him into the culinary world working in restaurants while attending school. He is committed to using local, seasonal ingredients and supporting the farmers and fishermen in Southern California.

No you don't need reservations. You just order at the window and sit at any table that is open. And yes, they serve alcohol. ☺️

Just ate there yesterday and oh so good. The entire menu is served all day during their open hours.

Do they have parking or do you have fight for parking with Beach goers?

It depends on the weather and weekend or weekday. Just ate their yesterday and plenty of parking. Since it is paid parking I have always been pretty lucky or you can park across the street and walk the tunnel over.

You order at the counter and there's self seating inside and out on the patio. You can partially see the ocean from some of the patio spots which is nice. There's lots of breakfast options and I like that you can order one or more of the breakfast sides. So you can get a little bit of everything. I had the almond French toast and my husband had the breakfast sandwich. We both shared some bacon, eggs, and breakfast potatoes. Their lattes are pretty tasty, and I would say I'm picky when it comes to iced lattes. They offer a few different special flavors. This is a great little cafe spot that I would be happy to come back to.

There's limited street parking FOOD -we got the warm butter cake as an appetizer -Their veggie burger was homemade (not of that fake stuff) and my husband got the fried chicken -we shared the bacon deviled eggs (with the bacon on the side) -I got their yuzu berry mocktail and it was delicious SERVICE it was a little on the slower side but we're also fast diners. Oh man. Where to even begin. I'd say let's just start from the service, then the food, then we can…read moretalk ambience. Arriving is difficult and the only way in is from the street (so walking) good luck finding any signage or smidge of help to lead you into the restaurant to even start your journey, and this wwaaasss a journey. Found our way inside and ordered drinks for our table of TEN which is conveniently the biggest table in the whole establishment (remember this for later) once we sat half the table had drink orders taken and the other half waited about 10-15 minutes after sitting to get just their drinks ordered. Half of the party figured water was fine based on the wait of a not busy restaurant..Finally had our drink orders taken by the bartender and things started looking up, everyone makes mistakes, or so we thought. Then the fun part, the food. We're patient people but when you wait for 32 minutes (and see other tables sat after you order their drinks, get them and then order their food) before you finally have to get up to ask another server to serve you because not only have we not been checked in on, but our drinks needed to be refilled before ever ordering. A server graciously takes everyone's orders, and given the timeline we had to wait for ANYTHING up to this point 80% of our party decided to leave and go watch the sunset while the waiting staff avoided us like the plague and started making the food. *STILL* not checked in on again by the new server or the one we supposedly had previously. But boy did yall NOTICE when the whole table got up and went on a WALK to the beach yes our whole giant table had time to enjoy the sunset, while the food was being made. Food comes out and it's JUST alright/mid at best, definitely not worth the price or to jump up and down over. And lastly ambience, the giant table is conveniently located in the middle of the room between the recently divorced bar Karens who haven't been cut off yet and every other party who has to be (or was treated) like regulars because we watched the staff wait on every other party as you'd expect ANY restaurant let alone one of this "caliber" and I use that word lightly. Best part was we watched the manager/owner who LOOKED the part but couldn't be farther from acting it. Go up to EVERY table and shake hands or greet the tables, except the giant table in the middle of your restaurant. Then he has the AUDACITY after we paid and STILL tipped well to ask us to MAYBE CONSIDER coming back or if we needed parking validation because NNOOWW our money is as good as everyone else's apparently. So my advice to you if you made it to this point is: 1. Don't look like you came from the beach (in a beach town) whether thats your clothes, hair, etc 2. Don't have tattoos or anything that they'll judge you for, like your skin or hair color 3. Don't bother coming to this restaurant period and spend your money ANYWHERE else, there's a Jack in the Box across the street that probably has better services and food. In a world where every restaurant sells the same steak,burgers, or fish items it solely comes down to your SERVICE and how you treat people and Sapphire failed miserably tonight. We will not be going back, and anyone who asks about this restaurant or our experience in a town we do a lot of business in will know our opinions. It's Laguna so parking can be difficult but it's possible to find metered parking on the nearby cross streets if you don't mind walking a little. We opted to use their valet parking but it's $6 per hour. The restaurant is surrounded by cute shops and there's an area where they have live music on certain nights. There are a decent amount of tables outside with umbrellas for shade. If you come for happy hour on a weekday, it's only available in the upper area by the bar. We came on a Tuesday for happy hour (3- 6pm), so cocktails were $2 off and starters were half priced. They don't have that many cocktails to choose from, so I just got their red Seasonal Sangria ($16). It didn't come in a wine glass which was a little odd but it was fine. We shared their Shrimp Ceviche ($23) and Bruschetta ($19). The ceviche was okay but the bruschetta was excellent. They also had taco specials (I assume because it was Tuesday) so they were $4- 5 à la carte. I tried the Mahi Mahi and Shrimp tacos and surprisingly really liked them. The Mahi Mahi tasted fresh and so did the corn tortillas. I would definitely come back for Taco Tuesday and anytime I'm looking to dine with an ocean view.

We got seated at our table at our table around 4:30p and had the most perfect view of the ocean! *we went on a Friday night and noticed the patio cleared out about 4:45-5pm and I didn't appear to have a lot of people waiting during that time. The main patio was covered with umbrellas, so once you are seated for dinner, there was plenty of umbrellas for shade and heaters for when it got a little cooler. For our food orders, and as recommended by our server, we went with their seafood options and ordered their Pacific Ceviche for an appetizer and for Entrees my husband got the Roasted Halibut and me and my mother-in-law both got the Scallop and Shrimp pasta. We all loved our dishes and were very satisfied with our choices. Their menu does have non-seafood options, but why not to try what they're most prominent for? They don't have a dessert menu, but they heard that we were celebrating mom's birthday so they brought us a little Toffee Cake to share and enjoy...and for a place that doesn't have dessert, the cake was pretty delicious. I ordered the scallop and shrimp pasta, and on my very first bite of the scallop, it had a strong ammonia taste--a common sign that seafood has gone bad. After that, I completely lost my appetite and couldn't eat the rest of my meal. My daughter ordered the cioppino, and after checking the seafood in her dish, we noticed the scallop was also very rubbery and didn't seem fresh either. Fresh seafood is something restaurants should never compromise on. Based on this experience, I can't recommend eating here and would suggest trying another restaurant instead.

The restaurant is located inside the hotel, and once you enter you'll take the elevator down to Level 1, where you'll be greeted with beautiful ocean views. We had a reservation and were seated very quickly. While we waited for our table to be cleared, Ava, our host, was so sweet and personable. She took the time to chat with us, shared some of her favorite menu recommendations, and when she noticed us unsuccessfully trying to take a selfie overlooking the water, she kindly offered to take a photo for us. It was such a thoughtful gesture that immediately made us feel welcome. Throughout dinner, Jesse was assisting our table, and he was fantastic. He always seemed to appear at just the right time without ever feeling intrusive. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout the evening. Our main server, Carson, was equally amazing. He was welcoming from the moment we sat down, incredibly attentive, and you could tell he genuinely cared about providing a great dining experience. His recommendations were spot on, he checked in on us regularly, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever rushing us. The food was excellent. I absolutely loved the burrata salad, and my husband ordered the lobster bisque. At first, he thought the portion might be on the smaller side, but between the bisque and the bread, he ended up completely satisfied. Speaking of the bread--don't skip it! I paid around $30 for my meal, but I still think it was worth it because you can definitely taste the quality of the ingredients. I would come back again, though next time I might try some of the less expensive menu items.

The bread was warm and soft, served with a tomato topping and two incredible butters: a rosemary butter with a subtle citrus note and a rich beef tallow. We shared the wedge salad, which was phenomenal--packed with flavor and even had a slight kick that really elevated it. For mains, several of us ordered the skirt steak, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My mother-in-law had the filet and loved it. We paired everything with two bottles of Daou Cabernet, which complemented the meal beautifully. The sides were just as memorable--we ordered two mac & cheeses (so good), a baked potato, honey-glazed carrots (a standout), and mushrooms. Everything was delicious and perfect for sharing. The ambiance and service really made the night. We sat outside under a pergola with beautiful lighting, which created such a cozy and special atmosphere. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made the entire evening feel seamless. Overall, Selanne Steak Tavern is absolutely worth the price for a special occasion. Two days later, we reviewed our credit card statement and discovered that the restaurant had charged us an additional $690 that was not part of our bill. We immediately called the restaurant and were told that a manager would contact us the following day to resolve the issue. We never received that call, so my husband had to follow up himself. Even after explaining that the charge was clearly not ours, we were told we would have to wait while they determined whose bill it actually belonged to. The restaurant made the mistake, yet instead of reversing the incorrect charge immediately, they expected us to wait while they sorted out their own billing error. As a result, we had to put our credit card on hold and spend a large part of our afternoon on the phone trying to resolve an issue that should never have been our responsibility. It's unfortunate because our anniversary dinner was otherwise a great experience. However, the lack of urgency and poor customer service in handling such a significant billing error overshadowed the evening. Because of how this situation was handled, we will not be returning.

Still craving that nutella latte! Savory foods were amazing. I got the half turkey sandwich, and my friends got the chorizo burrito. I'm usually bad at finishing my food, but I got through my whole plate! I don't eat pork, so I didn't try the burrito, but my friends described it as cheesy and filling. I've been to a different location before (La Jolla) and I think this location wasn't as good. At the La Jolla location you can see the staff making the tortillas + churros and this location the tortillas were packaged. I'm not sure if they use the same ingredients but this could have changed the flavor profile. They were still yummy don't get me wrong but they just weren't as good as I remember them. I ordered chips and guac as well and the staff forgot to include it in my order so I had to go up to the counter another time which was quite a hassle given it's a very busy restaurant with the line out the door the entire time I was there. The salsa selection is rather nice especially when most restaurants are trying to cut down on salsa options + use the lower quality ingredients. You can tell the ingredients in the salsas were high + they even have a few creamy options which is hard to see at most Mexican restaurants these days. I do think the guac was a little limey but it wasn't bad when you added it to the tacos. If you go I would recommend you go with zero expectations of eating inside as there are about 5-6 tables + waiting a long time for your food. The beach is 10 steps away so you can always take your food to the beach too!

K'ya is back in Laguna Beach -- and the food is just as good as I remember…read more I used to be a regular at K'ya Bistro years ago before the space changed concepts, so I was really excited to see it return to the same location. Walking back into the space brought back a lot of great memories. I was actually surprised it wasn't busier on a Thursday night just a week after their grand opening, because this place used to always be packed. The food was great across the board. We ordered a mix of happy hour items and entrées and everything was well done. Highlights: Happy Hour / Starters * Bacon-wrapped dates - Incredible. Perfectly crispy bacon, creamy blue cheese inside, and the sweetness of the date. Easily one of the best bites of the night. * Coconut shrimp - I'm not a seafood eater, but my friend devoured them and said they were excellent. * Hummus platter - Generous portion with cucumbers, carrots, plenty of pita, and a large serving of hummus. * Wine - Very generous pours for happy hour. Entrées * Steak tips - Cooked perfectly and well seasoned. * Sausage with polenta - Really flavorful and comforting. * Salmon bites - I didn't try these, but my friends loved them. There were four of us and we ordered quite a bit -- and still couldn't finish everything. Portions were generous and the pricing felt very reasonable, especially for being right on PCH in Laguna Beach. One note for the owners: I'd love to see this place succeed long term. The food and location are great, but I think a stronger marketing push could really help bring people back in -- things like inviting local food reviewers, boosting social media, and making sure the website clearly shows the current menu and happy hour specials. Overall it's a great space with solid food and good value for Laguna Beach. I'm really excited to have K'ya back and look forward to coming again.

I'm sure glad I FOUND this place! (Pun intended) Saw the yelp listing for Lost Pier when looking for a new breakfast spot and wondered why I had never seen this place before. For the uninitiated, Lost Pier is a neat little food stand off to the side of Aliso Beach in Laguna (metered parking btw). In terms of price and quality, Lost Pier has one of the best breakfast burritos in Laguna, plus they got avocado toast for under $10, beer/wine, and they sell a cool t-shirt with a motorcycle on it. :P Staff is friendly, food is great, and the location is primo. Definitely would recommend dropping by for a visit. read more

Came here with my husband after a morning walk from our resort. We got the breakfast sandwich and the breakfast burrito along with two cold brews to go. The sandwich and burrito both came with chips which were really good with a seasoning on them. The sandwich was OK but I think I would get the burrito next time it was much better. I would have liked to sit and eat it at the tables but there were SO MANY BEES. I mean like 50 bees on one table and uhhh no thanks haha. So we walked down the beach and sat in the sand and ate the food. Accompanied by some sea gulls of course. read more

Lost Pier Café is located at Aliso Beach in Laguna and is one of the best and only places you can eat and drink while practically on the sand. The view is spectacular, the food is fantastic and if that weren't enough they serve beer and wine too. They have a large selection of great food on the menu. Everything from breakfast burritos to burgers and fries, soups and salads to ceviche and even a kids menu with cheese quesadillas and chicken tenders. One of the best places to grab lunch and watch the beach crowd and the surfers! read more
