    Charbroiled Beef Springrolls (2 Pieces)

VEGAN Menu available! A beautiful high ceiling space and calm ambience. Server "Shazia" was amazing! Tatted cool girl, very informative. Recommended all great dishes she had tried herself. Especially their main attraction "bone marrow pho". Super huge knuckle, meat fall off the bone, super tender and fatty. The soup and noodles are separated in another bowl, best to ask for another plate and remove the knuckle to dive into the meat soup bowl. However, I would not recommend the "curry bites" a bit too greasy, samosa-like fried triangles, just taste like a curry toothpaste in side a greasy fried eggsroll wrap. But definitely tried the spring roll. I had the charbroil beef and it was delicious with the fish sauce. Also come with six pieces, more than enough to share. Overall definitely come and try and order the bone marrow pho.

Restaurant is nothing fancy but I'd heard good things about the food so decided to give it a try. Came at opening on Sunday morning and staff were helpful with providing recommendations. There were only a couple of employees working and it was the very start of the day so the sandwiches took a bit longer than expected but we had the time. My husband loved the pork sandwich and said the roll was do fresh it almost melted in his mouth. Great flavor but could've used a bit more spice for him. I had the veggie sandwich and it was fine - fresh roll and ingredients but lacking in flavor. The tofu should've been marinated or the veggies pickled. It was just ok.

Solid place to have some Pho noodles! My fam and I went here after our Universal Studio theme park day. We were exhausted and were craving some hot soup. Thankfully this place opens late and closed from where we were. The place looks fancy when you walk inside, but their prices are reasonable. Their service is good, too.. they really make sure you're well taken care of as their customers. They were just having Pho noodle soup this day.. Idk why but the server told us that in advance before seating down. Of course, we all ordered their pho noodles where they are famous for. I ordered their Oxtail Pho, which included the actual oxtail in it. The broth is good and flavorful. Their meat is tender and easy to chew on. And their rice noodle is a great compliment to all the ingredients. Overall, it is a solid place to go if ever you're craving Pho around this area.

Contemporary interior. Tasty food and friendly services. A good choice after a day at the warner Brothers Studio tour. We tried their noodle soup, vermicelli, spring roll, and pork sandwich. The sandwich is good portion but noodle soup and vermicelli portion is on the small side. The bone marrow noodle soup is also quite interesting. I forgot to take picture of the sandwich since the server forgot to put in order- oh well, we took it togo instead. It is indeed delicious. This restaurant is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking in the lot.

What a vibe! I really enjoyed lunch here. Since my office moved to the Burbank area in October 2025, I'm having quite a food journey during lunch. Today I dined at Lotus & Light and it was great! The service excellent. They had complimentary shrimp chips as a starter and it was a nice touch. I had the charbroiled pork vermicelli and opted to add an eggroll and charbroiled shrimp for an extra $4. The portions were big so it probably wasn't necessary but it was worth it. The ambiance was contemporary and upscale. They had nice art, plants, and bar looked lovely though I didn't have a drink. Maybe next time!

This place is really cute and the customer service is top tier. I love that they offer shrimp chips as a starter! I ordered the chicken noodle soup and the spring rolls. They were happy to accomodate my request for extra lime because I love it in my soup! The chicken in the soup seemed like good quality (not chewy or fatty) but it was overcooked. The soup wasn't really hot when it was served either. Spring rolls were good and a decent size! I wanted to like this place more. I came a long time ago and liked it but this more recent trip missed the mark for me. Again, my waitress was lovely and the atmosphere is very nice! I would maybe come back and try one of their beef noodle soups to see if those are better than the chicken.

This is shrimp fried rice. It came with exactly 7 small shrimp on top. No veggies. Ok well there was a few & far between tiny pieces of green onion. For $16.95. They replaced it with stir fried noodle with pork. The pork could NOT be chewed. I mean awful. Disappointing. The waiter was fantastic though he didn't offer to not charge me. So I had to pay for it but we will never be back that's for sure.

The pho is good but the spring rolls are amazing. Just a bit hard to eat since everything falls apart after the first bite. That sauce is unique and amazing. A unique touch instead of the peanut sauce that comes out at every other spot.

Absolutely good service, although there was only one waiter taking care of everything he was keeping up with people dinning in and take orders. I ordered the bone marrow pho, I joked the bone was bigger than the plate but that wasn't even issue . Meat was tender but the broth was bland. After adding the toppings, fish sauce and siracha it gave it a little bit of flavor. I've never had any beef pho whose broth was watery and flavorless I probably would not be going back.

It was Sunday evening and it's time to do a to-go dinner. I didn't have any expectations with the place. I just wanted a filling and delicious dinner and it definitely exceeded my expecations. I ordered Pork Vermicilli through their app and my order was ready in 20 mins. The vermicilli was cooked well, the pork was so delicious and such generous portion and the sauce was top notch. I will definitely come back to try the rest of their menu. The staff that helped me when I picked up my order was really nice.

Ask the Community - Lotus & Light

How difficult is parking during lunch?

It's a crapshoot, but in general that parking lot has a lot of spaces. It just depends on far you wanna walk. On a weekend it's worse cause of all the people going to Bea Beas.

Do they take reservations for lunch?

Not sure, but it's easy to get a table when you walk in

What happened to their fried tofu? Anyone have the recipe for the old version?

When will you open for lunch hours again?

    They are open at lunch

Is indoor dining available now? Do I need a reservation?

Yes there is. Reservations are not needed at this moment unless it’s a big party because we haven’t been that busy yet unfortunately.

    Any gluten free options?

    Yes!

Do they have Bun Bo Hue?

    No, sorry we don’t :(

How come they don't have a website to see the menu and delivery service?

There are pictures of the menu on Yelp and they use Postmates for delivery.

Does anyone know if they cater?

I believe they do. Give them a call

    Do they use msg?

There's no MSG in the pho. I asked them.

A super solid place to stop by, especially before catching a movie at The Burbank 16…read more I literally walk pass by this place all the time on my way to the movie theater. Finally got a chance to come-in & I'm glad that I did. Although, I have my "go-to whole-in-the-wall Vietnamese" place in the SFV, there's always room for more businesses to support & Mama Hong's Vietnamese Kitchen - Burbank definitely deserves your patronage. It's a welcome step-up from your typical no-frills Vietnamese place, so the vibe / decor is especially great if you're introducing someone to Vietnamese cuisine for their first time. FOOD **PRO TIP: Go "Family-Style" = split multiple dishes amongst your table so you can have the opportunity to try multiple delishes dishes at once. That's the move. Shaken Beef Garlic Noodles - 9.2 / 10 **GET THIS DISH!!!!!** I did my "due diligence" before coming here & I 100% knew that I wanted to try this particular dish as soon as I came into the restaurant. In fact, the person whom I came here with wanted this too. (She didn't tell me in-advance). Needless to say, when multiple people have the exact same dish in-mind, you know that this is a good sign. Strips of lean, tender, juicy, quality, tenderloin steak, well-sautéed onions, plenty of garlic, served on top of a bed of al dente noodles. What's not to love? It's like eating a big, bowl, or spaghetti, but without the overpowering tomato sauce. Don't let the simplicity fool you. Yeah, I could very, well likely make this dish as home, but sometime it' just nice to leave some things to the pros. You can't go wrong with this dish. It sounds delicious in theory & it delivers on all fronts in reality. Spicy Garlic Chicken Rice - 8.9 / 10 A nice counterpoint to the heavier beef dishes that are offered, the well-seasoned, not-overly dry, but not-too spicy chicken is substantial. Round that off with an adequate portion of perfectly-steamed white rice & some fresh veggies (your standard pickled carrots, daikon radish, & lettuce), & you got yourself a solid chicken dish. Grilled Ribeye Steak Sandwich - 9.1 / 10 I hadn't had breakfast, so I was definitely craving a bit more to satisfy my hunger. This beef variant of a traditional Vietnamese Bahn-Mi hit the spot. Since I'm used to eating more economical + fattier cuts of beef for my bahn-mi, it's a rather welcome + modern twist to be using more premium cuts of steak (I honestly might steal this move the next time I whip-up a bahn-mi at home). It was hearty & you can definitely tell that the quality is there. I could be mistaken, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was some fish sauce that was used to marinade the steak. It makes for such a well-rounded, savory flavor. The crisp veggies, & aromatic cilantro round-out all taste sensations on a fresh baguette. In many ways, this is the fancier, upgraded, "Rolls Royce", of a typical whole-in-the wall Vietnamese spot's bahn-mi, & that is sometimes what you want. I would definitely get this again, especially if I was on-the-go. DRINKS Mango Jasmine Iced Tea - 8.9 / 10 Don't sleep on Mama Hong's handcrafted beverages. The mango jasmine iced tea provides everything that I want in a thirst-quenching drink. You get the tropical tones of the mango offset by the herbaceous jasmine of the tea. I really appreciate that it's not overly sweet. I especially dig that their handcrafted beverages come in customized branded plastic packaging with that soda-can lever-opener-style lid. You just don't get that anywhere. The staff is beyond accommodating. Shout-out to Mariska for being such a friendly & warm server. Granted, I came on a Sunday afternoon (around 2pm-3:30pm), don't be surprised if you have to wait because I can see this place being quite the trendy spot. Granted it's casual, it's still feels a bit nicer/fancier than the more relaxed bars, fast-casual spots in the surrounding area. You can't go wrong with Mama Hong's Vietnamese Kitchen - Burbank. A solid choice, indeed.

Usually I have a Bahn Mi but today I was craving Pho. My go to Pho spot is a little bit of a drive and I was looking for something in walking distance. No regrets. Today I had the Oxtail Pho + Vietnamese Coffee which ended up being about $28 and worth every penny. Let me tell you I am just so grateful for how delicious is but almost sad i've almost eaten it all. Let's begin with the location. Parking is tight but one thing about Lankershim/Magnolia is the side streets is your friend. Don't stress about parking bc you will find it. Inside the restaurant is very very cute, they have indoor and outdoor seating. Today they had Michal Jackson playing. Big fan! Big fan! The portion size is just right for me. It had enough to fill me up for one sitting and a little left over when my tummy settles and i'm ready for more. The broth is soooo yummy, I can't even explain it. Idk whose grandmother passed that recipe down but I love her. Now let's get into the actual Oxtail. wow, it was actually the biggest oxtail piece I think I have ever had in my life and it was so good. I am going to attach a photo bc this isn't regular Pho baby this herrrrr! (excuse the chunks I bit out, I realized it was so good I needed to tell yall ) They must love me and knew I needed this comfort meal bc there was a few pieces in there. Thank youuuuu Anywho, whether you're by yourself, on a date, with family or friends I definitely suggest checking them out. And you better be nice too bc I think it's family owned, they're lovely. It is pricey compared to other Vietnamese places I'm used to.

We soon got a good spot and ordered the shrimp ceviche and the pan fried dumplings for appetizers. The ceviche was served on a bed of crispy noodles and it was refreshing and satisfying. The dumplings were crispy, not greasy, and flavorful. For dinner, we got 2 orders of japchae and 3 orders of bibimbap. With 2 Korean-born children and having visited the country, those are among our family's favorite dishes. And they did not disappoint. The japchae noodles were just right. They were not too firm and not too soft and well-seasoned. With a mixture of veggies, meat, mushrooms, eggs, and that delectable sauce, the bibimbap tickled and satiated the tastebuds. I told the server there was a birthday at the table and she brought out an excellent creme brulee with a candle in it. My husband and I didn't pay the bill. Limited parking in back, but plenty on the street this small sibling eatery to Rustic Spoon - Valley Village has a lot of those familiar beats with both inside and patio seating. The portions are smaller than the Rustic Spoon in Valley Village, but the flavors and quality are abundant. From curry to desser, noodles to rice dishes, appetizers, salads, soups, chef's specials and even a kid's menu. No wine, beer or alcoholic beverages available here, however excellent mocktails (Rose Mojito, Bloody Lychee), teas, and various classic beverages. We experienced a minor mix up with my order initially, I was brought a noodle dish with steak, but I think it was meant for another table since I don't eat meat and can't remember the last time I used steak in a sentence. It was an easy fix and we had zero other issues, aside for me leaving my bag at the table - they were super kind enough to flag us down on the sidewalk. Very clean and intimate inside with nice lighting from the street and their own special touch at night. Restrooms for customers Wi-Fi available upon request. Patio is pet friendly. Solid for groups, but absolutely plan ahead (they do take reservations). Open daily from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM and 4:30 PM - 9:00 PM on weekdays as well as from 3 PM until 9 PM Saturdays and Sundays.
