Being the closest sushi place to home, we frequent this establishment a lot. But it is not just the location that keeps us coming back. It is one of the best and fairly-priced sushi restaurants I have been to in Bakersfield. We never had problems finding seating even if it was Sunday lunch time. I haven't been to Love Sushi in years. We came here after my brother's high school graduation. Prior to arrival, we called and made a reservation for our large party of 15. Our dining experience started out rough. We arrived to the restaurant expecting our table would be ready, but when we arrived the waitress explained they mistaken another party for ours. Luckily this restaurant space is smaller and did not have any other reservations for graduation. Our party was unable to be seated all at once. A portion was seated and once another group left the remainder of our party was seated. We ordered a large amount of food. We ordered 11 rolls of sushi, two dinner plates, one ramen, one udon, and three calamari appetizers. The appetizers did not come out first. This was a little bit weird to me. One of our tables received edamame while the other did not. The calamari was served towards the end of our meal. Though the calamari was delicious, I feel as though the portion served was on the smaller side. The soups we ordered were the original ramen and plain udon. The noodles and broth for the udon were delicious, but the ramen was similar to the packaged ramen found at the grocery store. At the end of our meal I noticed we were charged extra for the spice in the ramen even though we did not ask for the ramen to be spicy. This was a little disappointing. There were no complaints on the teriyaki chicken plates. We never received miso soup with our dinner plates which I'm not sure if that was an error on the restaurant's end of of mine. The plates were not pictured, but included the teriyaki chicken, rice, salad, and dumplings. The sushi rolls we ordered were a California roll, Baked Salmon Roll, Kingster Roll, 911 Roll, Spider Roll, & Shrimp Tempura Roll. Of these rolls the two favorite rolls were the Baked Salmon Roll and Kingster Roll. The topping on the Kingster Roll was perfectly cooked and delicious. The Baked Salmon Roll had the perfect amount of spice our meal needed. Our least favorite roll was the 911 Roll. The spicy tuna was slightly warm and very mushy and fishy. Definitely would not recommend this one. Our food came out very quickly after placing our order. The restaurant space is very small, but food and service is pretty good. The price and promptness they have when serving food is was gives this place 4 stars even though we had a little mix up in the beginning. I would definitely return to this establishment. read more

If I could give a zero I would. My pregnant wife ordered a baked roll for takeout. Baked meaning cooked. We get home and there is no baked roll. The guy said its ohhh it's a fresh roll in the middle and baked on the outside. Their menu doesn't say that. It's not implied anywhere. I call the guy and he says I have to bring everything back and my card to get my refund. I say put the manager on the phone and Jason won't get on the phone. Instead he has the server get on the phone and refuses to talk. Amongst other things but this place is trash. 0 stars. read more

The staff is excellent in this restaurant There were Thank you Live Sushi 3 servers working the room. They work as a team for all guests, which I personally think is a most effective method to give the guests the best possible service. Each one of them made sure all was well for me. The food is fresh, delicious and well prepared Love Sushi consistency has delicious food What I especially liked is that the music was at a comfortable enough level to hear your fellow diners and the server. I desperately needed to have sushi during the week, so I waited as long as I could and had Love Sushi delivered. I got a spicy tuna, and happy hand roll good and satisfied the craving of sushi. The fish and chips aren't quite what I was expecting, but went bad either . The price I paid wasn't bad at all for all that I got and especially for it to be delivery .
