Love sushi is one of the staples here in the city of Bakersfield. They have multiple locations and have amazing sushi!!! Every location will give you a different vibe, and it just depends on which one you fall in love with. Anyways, the food was amazing as always, but the customer service just needed a little more attention. Nonetheless this location is amazing and I'm pretty sure they were just short staff and had a long day. Make sure to check this place out and all the other locations of love sushi here in Bakersfield. Hope to see you guys there

Wow I was really pleasantly surprised ! Best love Sushi location I have tried in town. I have not been to mt Vernon. But delicious, the server was friendly , and the ambiance felt like an authentic sushi place.

This has to be my favorite sushi spot. It's nothing extravagant, but we always have great service, great food and a great time. My son and I were having a Labor Day date and decided to come in for lunch. The restaurant was fairly empty, which I'm not gonna lie, I absolutely love! We ordered the sushi combo #2 which consists of spicy tuna roll, 4 piece sushi (chef pick), miso soup and house salad. This combo is only 24 bucks and we never finish it! We also ordered a couple of Melon Ramune and they always provide a small bowl of salted edamame as a starter. Love sushi is the only restaurant that I've been to in town that offers you a complimentary sample sushi. I never know what type it is, but of course I don't complain! Also the peanut butter and apple dessert at the end is a beautiful way to end the meal. We love coming here!

This was one of the firs Sushi Restaurants in Bakersfield. I have been eating here since Yelp existed. I happened to be in the neighborhood today and we decided to drop in for old time sake. Nothing changed, in a good way. It is cozy, small, with a super sweet Japanese lady as the only server. She was so nice, keeping on bringing us free things to try. We were in a mood to pig out. We did sushi a la carte with fatty tuna, salmon, grilled eel, fresh shrimp, tuna, and albacore. Every thing was prepared to perfection and presented beautifully. The dynamite roll was creamy, chewy, layered with texture, nothing short of dynamite. I have had so many great meals and great memories here. Highly recommended for you to try it!

I will no longer be spending my money at love sushi I come here very often for my dumplings, and as you can see in the photos, it comes with dipping sauce, which I do always ask for an extra one today I asked for an extra one and they wanted to charge me .50 cents. I asked the owner when they start charging for the dumpling sauce. I know they charge for the other sauces, but not this one and he told me they've been charging since last year okay cool but there's no way you want me to pay an extra 50 Cent to get another empty container like the ones in the photo crazy work

Not a big place!! But it feels very private and spacious. We got our 4 rolls pretty fast, super flavorful and the rice was cooked to perfection. The rolls are a pretty big size. Our waitress made sure to check on us often but not too often where we got uncomfortable. They also gave us a free dessert kind of thing with like an apple and it was a cute way to end the dinner.

Came here on New Years Day for dinner, as it is one of the few restaurants open (and open late). Ordered a couple of rolls, hamachi collar, and a seafood udon. Everything was delicious! The rolls portion size was pretty big which was a plus. We got complimentary edamame for an appetizer and slice of apples for dessert. Service was relatively quick and waitress was attentive. Casual Japanese restaurant that I recommend if you're craving sushi in the area for a great price.

Had the best lunch date at Love Sushi in Bakersfield. Finding good sushi in Bakersfield had not been on my bingo card for the day but I was so pleasantly surprised with this meal that I had to come on here to tell you all about it! Love sushi was close to one of my friend's houses so we decided to stop in for lunch. Really the reason we chose this spot was because it wasn't far and it was one of the only sushi restaurants that opened at 11am vs 11:30am. We found this spot easily, clear signage and there was plenty of parking which was great. We walked inside and were immediately welcomed and offered a nice booth in the back. This restaurant is pretty small. Only about 5 booths, a small sushi bar, and a couple tables so on the weekends I would say come earlier. On a weekday this place didn't get too busy but lots of take out orders were coming through. Service & staff here were 5 stars and honestly the best part of this experience. Our waitress/server was darling and super sweet. Very attentive and she knew the menu well which was impressive as they have a large menu. She was helpful and checked up on us often always clearing empty plates and refilling our glasses. The sushi chef was also the kindest guy oh my gosh! He sent complimentary hand rolls over to our table. Who does that? It was so sweet and much appreciated, it set for good vibes right off that bat. That was a really generous free starter. Our meal was definitely very delicious and we both left super stuffed but happy. I'd say their sushi overall was 4 stars but actually their cooked meals and bento box were an unexpected 5 stars for me. Their Bulgogi was some of the best I've had, especially at a sushi restaurant. Almost as good as some Korean bbq spots I've been. The bulgogi had a great sauce and the sauce got hot enough during cooking it gave good little crispy edges to the meat. Super tasty and the bento boxes are Hooked up here! Came with rice, salad, miso soup, California roll, and two fried dumplings. Seriously what a deal?! The sushi was middle of the road to me, I liked some things better than others - my roll was tasty but needed a stronger sauce to give it a little more flavor. I liked the salmon hand rolls though. All in all we had a super fabulous lunch experience here. The restaurant was clean, cute, and cozy - my favorite c's. Haha. Service was impressive and the owner/chef couldn't have been any more generous. He also gave us a tiny apple dessert at the end, so sweet. Food was very good and for the large amount of food we ordered the price was about average. For a good meal though we are happy to pay. Definitely a new spot to come back to next time I'm in town, worth a try if you haven't been here yet. Good people, they deserve your business.

No to the fish katsu but yes to the ahi and oysters. Miso soup was too salty and salad was alright nothing special. Couldn't taste the dressing.

I really hate that I have to give this place a 4 but it's because the spicy edamame was not to my liking and they do not carry pineapple soju. The food is definitely a must try, especially the beautiful yellowtail sashimi. The seafood yakisoba was so delicious. I did not care much for the baked salmon roll, Love Sushi takes first place for that roll and Prime Sushi take first place for spicy edamame. The crazy tuna roll I ordered was so big! The crunchy pieces on top can stand to sit in some absorbing paper towels because they were a bit oily but went well with the Tuna dance. I personally did not care for the bluefin tuna. Overall my babe and I enjoyed our dinner and will most definitely return for more.

I'm glad we did, because it gave us a whole new feel for the place. Inside isn't massive, but it's not cramped either. Think of it like the Goldilocks of restaurant spaces: just right. The vibe leans calm and cozy, dim lighting, black walls, and splashes of color here and there. It's got that "peaceful sushi zen" atmosphere without being boring. Our waitress deserves a medal (or at least an extra roll on the house). She was the only one working the floor, yet somehow managed to be friendly, attentive, and efficient all at once. Multitasking level: expert. Now onto the food, which is really why we came back. We ordered a spread: two teriyaki chicken plates, one chicken ramen bowl, an order of sushi crunch rolls, egg rolls, a large pineapple sake, a beer, and two iced teas. (Yes, we came hungry. Don't judge.) Everything came out quickly, hot, and fresh. The chicken was juicy, the rice perfectly cooked, and the little bed of veggies under the teriyaki chicken was tender-crispy and surprisingly addictive. Whoever thought of tucking those under there deserves a raise. The ramen had bold flavors that hit the spot, and the sushi rolls lived up to their name, they really were crunchy and delicious. Now, the egg rolls. Let me tell you, these might just be the best I've ever had. Perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and stuffed with flavor on the inside. The kind that makes you regret ordering only one plate. Drinks? The beer was cold (and surprisingly affordable), the iced teas were strong and refreshing, and the pineapple sake... well, it was different, let's just say it's not everyone's cup of tea. Personally, I'll stick to tequila, lol, but my husband happily claimed the sake as his new favorite. Win-win. Prices here are fair and budget-friendly, which is always nice to see at a sushi spot. The place was clean and well-kept, and I'm happy to say it still holds up just as well as when I ordered takeout years ago. Bottom line: Shoyu Sushi is still doing its thing, fresh food, good prices, relaxing vibe, and service that makes you feel taken care of. If you want sushi that crunches, teriyaki that comforts, and egg rolls that just might ruin all other egg rolls for you, this is the spot.
