7 minutes ago My wife ordered over the phone one forever roll and some Philadelphia rolls. I mistakenly (as a none sushi enthusiast) dug into my wife's forever roll thinking she ordered a vegetarian roll as it had no meat in it, or fish, depending on your definition. We called love's Sushi on California to inform them that the roll had no fish in it. They told my wife to come back, sounds good so far right? When I walked in, being brown in origin because I'm Native American, the waiter who was red haired and white told me because I was brown I didnt understand what the roll should taste like. To add to insult, he told me because of you people trying to take advantage of us, we will need your order next time as proof that "we" (the restaurant) messed up. I placed an order for 6 different rolls and all of them arrived falling apart and lazy wrapped.. we couldn't even pick up the sushi with the chopsticks because it was falling apart. Love Sushi is always hit or miss... This was our first time to this location. There were only 2 other customers when we arrived so no wait. The food came rather quickly & everything all at once. The soup & salad (cucumber salad) usually comes out first but not tonight. The crunch roll was soggy & kind of fishy... The teriyaki chicken dinner was great! Service was eh. The server was like a helicopter & hovered. Silent service is best after you check on us for the 5th time in 10min. Will we be back? Probably because it's convenient. Keep reading lousy reviews from people who don't understand sushi restaurants. This is damn good, and not just for Bakersfield. The food and service at this location were superior to the Coffee Rd. location. I really can't speak enough about the staff. Fast service, knew exactly what was freshest and best. When the mackerel I ordered was out, I asked for the chef to "omakase" (serve me their choice) and they gave me an albacore that was divine. Tons of little touches that make the flavors bold. Amazing textures. This takes skill. This isn't luck. Yes the music was a little loud, but it's a sushi joint. I've seen louder. It's a great value and I'm going back for sure. read more

Tried this location out for the first time today, and went around 1pm, so we had just missed the lunch crowd. We were sat immediately and given menus, I couldn't help but notice how small this location is. Around 10 tables maybe not including the bar. So I'm sure it gets pretty jammed during rushes. I ordered the Jins Roll, and my friend ordered the Salmon Tempura Roll. Very small compared to the other Love Sushi establishments. But taste was all there, was just disappointed with size. I cut the waitress some slack as she was the only one working all the tables, and to-go orders. The radio was absolutely obnoxious, entirely too loud and staticky. (I'll post a video) another table went as far as putting head phones on to drown out the sound. I'll go back to try the All you Can Eat at least once. read more

The craving for sushi was real. I'm a day late on my review but I needed some time to digest. I was starving and sushi is always my go to, unfortunately my appetite and sushi prices don't do my wallet any good. However, this particular location offers the all too rare AYCE! Showed up with my girlfriend ready to dive in. First round, 5 orders of salmon and tuna with one Gandham roll(not sure how to spell it) along with baked mussels. At first glance the nigiri was huge! Unfortunately, under that delicious fresh tasting salmon and tuna lay a huge amount of rice. The nigiri was delicious besides the portion of rice and the roll was just as appetizing. I think the mussels were probably my 3rd favorite dish of the night, quite scrumptious. Lol Second round, no more nigiri, one baked salmon roll(my all time favorite roll) one Las Vegas roll and another roll I can't remember. The baked salmon roll was very tasty, unfortunately the other two rolls missed the mark by a long shot. Ended the night with another roll or two I don't recall, I just remember I was full at this point. However still had room for my favorite, one more baked salmon roll. All in all, for an AYCE sushi spot here in Bakersfield I believe Love Sushi to be a good go to. $30 per person is a very reasonable price. Although the quality isn't as good as I'd expect you get what you pay for. A lot of sushi at a reasonable price. 3/5 stars. I've said it before and I will continue to say this until it no longer applies, Midoris AYCE sushi down in Sherman oaks has ruined sushi for me. Lol my standards are ridiculously high and the bar has been set. I've yet to find anything remotely close but I will continue on this journey. Customer service was good, food was ready to go fairly quickly. I stopped in right before the lunch rush hit. I ordered the Crunch Scallop Roll to go. The price was decent for the quantity. The rolls were loosely wrapped, which made them difficult to eat because they didn't hold together very well. The scallops had a strange taste to them. They didn't taste terrible, there was just something off flavor-wise. I still want to come back, everyone has an off day. I would like to try more items because I live so close to this place. I wish I could give them no stars. I paid $20 for teriyaki dinner and this is what they gave me. I was reasonable and understood mistakes can happen to I went back and they agreed to add to my plate. When I opened the "additional meat" container it was only 3 pieces of meet. At this point u knew they were trying to take advantage. Also undermining the fact that I live 20 minutes away from the location. When I went back to tell them that the amount wasn't what I paid for, the chief grab my plate rudely and started touching all the food with his dirty hands. But the worst part was that he wouldn't even talk to me and try to apologize for the matter, I had to ask the waitress multiple times what he was saying! So disappointed. We ordered two dinners and a roll. When I got there they told me that they were waiting in rice. I paid. After I paid they had the nerve to tell me that they had run out of rice and there was not enough for the two dinners we had ordered. This is a service review only.. and I'll tell you why. My husband phoned in an order (on two separate occasions) and both times, this place did not fulfill the order. First time was a miscommunication between the person that took the order and the chefs. Today, my husband walked into the place letting them know he is here for the order and they said to wait about 15 minutes (the phone in order was NOT have to wait). My husband goes to his car for 15 minutes and went back and they claimed there was no specific order placed. No one took ownership in writing my husbands order down even though my husband showed them their number on his cell phone and how long the conversation was. So many things wrong with "this" location, I asked for wassabe which I didn't get the first time then I asked for them not to give me all the sushi on one big plate which they did or tried to, then I got charged for adding avocado, chillie oil, and serache, so I said to the server that they don't charge for the extras at the one on Coffee (Same Owner). The lady in charge behind the counter says yes they do. Ok well not the 4 times a month at least. When I go. It's a shame cause I live close to this one but I will never go here again.
