I went to this location for the first time today. The young lady greeted me immediately and we talked about the menu. I ordered a Half pound of brisket and a quarter pound of pastrami and some bagels. The pastrami was sliced thick, a little fatty but the tast and texture was good. This is my favorite place to get an everything bagel. I am a connoisseur of everything bagels and this bagel has the perfect amount of seasoning and when you toast it.. zoo wee mama!! We absolutely LOVE Loveski's and have been going there since they opened. We welcomed their recent menu addition of the egg salad and tuna salad sandwiches with delight. However, each Thursday (that is when we go) these get made more and more poorly. Today, the egg whites for the egg salad were not sufficiently chopped and the bagel toasties, that should have been evenly spread, were clumped together (see photo) which made for an unacceptable sandwich. As for the tuna salad, clumping occurred as well and the lettuce was not properly placed. (see photo). We really hope that someone at Loveski's reteaches their cooks/chefs how to make a proper sandwich. And as apology would be okay too. :) read more

The avocado and cucumber specialty bagel on an everything was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Total hangover cure and so fresh and delicious. We had to come back for two breakfasts it was so good. Heirloom tomato bagel on salt was amazing as well. Super friendly and helpful staff. Went on a trip to Napa with my friends and we wanted food so we checked out Oxbow Public Market and Loveski looked good! We drove up from Orange County. Always love me a Smoked Salmon Bagel so we got that and also a Smoked Whitefish Sando. Both were delicious! I might have enjoyed the Smoked Whitefish more just because I felt like it was unique and not something I've tried before. I give this place five stars specifically for the Smoked Whitefish Sandwich, if we only ordered the Bagel, I'd give it four stars. But the bagels here are good! The Smoked Salmon was good too. They are definitely no bagel you would find in New York City but still delicious and hit the spot. Maybe I'm not a very picky bagel eater because I'm not sure why this place has only three and a half stars. I feel like it should have at least four stars! People are saying it's overpriced but price seems pretty standard especially if you compare with LA and NY prices. I am an OC native. I would not go out of my way to get the bagel but would go out of my way to get the whitefish again. Since it's located inside the market, there are a couple free parking lots. We came on a Saturday around 12 PM lunch time so it was pretty busy and a bit hard to find parking, you kind of just have to wait a bit for a spot to open up but doable, a lot of people going in and out. Nice to have been able to try this new establishment in Oxbow and I'd have to say, they have a pretty awesome Happy Hour menu! $1 beers?! Get outta here! We were able to split a sandwich which had unique flavors that definitely made them stand out. But i especially loved that their Happy Hour menu had some half priced food and snacks to munch on and is available for half the price from 3:00-close daily! Loveski is a Jew-ish deli. The "ish" is significant. Like tradition-ish. For example the pastrami on rye has all the vital ingredients (pastrami, mustard, big pickle on the side) you would find in a traditional NYC deli but the meat is cut into thick, juicy slices (not thinly sliced like and not piled so high that it has to be propped up with a wooden stake. Not a fan of rye bread (who but the starving is?), I got their Tradition ($21) sandwich but untraditionally, on their signature oatmeal bread which, unlike your normal rye, is moist and soft all the way through. Today I was just looking for a small portion to eat. I wasn't in the mood to eat a large lunch. So I happen to settle for a pastrami and rye sandwich. I used to live down the street from Katz's -- if you don't know what that is then you have no right to leave a bad review about pastrami or corned beef anything, anywhere ever. I know a good pastrami sandwich. I've traveled all over the US and know how hard it is to find a good pastrami sandwich -- it's a pastrami wasteland out there. The Loveski pastrami sandwich on rye with mustard was one of the best I've had outside of NYC. I don't know who the hell all these people are leaving one-, two-, and three-star reviews, but maybe it's like Alfred said in The Dark Knight, "Some men just want to watch the world burn." The only reason for a four-star review is the meat isn't piled high like at an NYC deli, but the sandwich still cost the same as an NYC sandwich. My guess is the economics of producing pastrami and corned beef forces the owner to charge $22 per sandwich; I'm fine with that. With that said, the meat was thick and hand carved, as it should be. Delicious food. Awkward / unhappy staff. Got a smoked salmon bagel and sat at the bar area. The food itself was incredible and so fresh. As for the staff, the person working the counter was screaming out people's order numbers like there was a fire. People don't stray that far that she has to disrupt everyone else. Couldn't wait to leave and then when I got up a gentleman called out "M'am! Can you take your tray to the busser station over there" . We stopped in for breakfast and tried the gluten free bagel with tomato and I added avocado. My husband had the PEC sandwich. With a salt bagel. The prices are definitely on the high side. I like that they have a gluten free option and it was perfectly toasted but the sandwich needed flavor. I usually put the everything bagel seasoning on mine at home and this was lacking flavor. Evidently the reviews were written because the owner is a Michelin starred chef and NOT because of the Food, Service or Ambiance! I had a Pastrami sandwich where the meat was sliced so thick it was not edible.And it was overpriced to boot! Service was limited to someone taking our order at the counter and then presenting a request for a 20% tip which was not deserved. There is no Ambiance at Oxbow. Stopped at Loveski inside of the oxbow public market in between winery tours in Napa! It was a perfect lunch spot and if you wanted anything else it is a bunch of different restaurants all in the public market.
