Parking is available on the Main Street but GOOD LUCK! Stumbled upon Lowboy randomly after dinner one night and was charmed by the good music and overall vibes. Seemed like a popular spot as it was PACKED for an earlier Friday night (~9pm). They had a *beer n' shot combo*, which I can never resist being a bit of a heavyweight when it comes to alcohol (I'm not bragging, I just happen to be Korean). And on the menu was not one, but THREE different offerings for beer n' shot combos. We got the *SHO-TIME SPECIAL* because clearly I'm Asian and I need to represent, but also I'm partial to Sapparo & toki whiskey NOT because I'm Asian, but because they're solid choices in both taste and quality! We also decided to try the *smash burger and fries* and honestly they were a bit underwhelming (burger was dry, needed more sauce and the fries were soggy & oily), but because we were in such a good mood having found a spot at the bar and with the SHO-TIME SPECIAL and all, we scarfed it all down. The place was pretty full inside, but we managed to get seats right away on a Sunday evening. They have outdoor seating too, but it was too cold outside. The waitstaff took a few minutes to get to us and take our order. But the wait time overall wasn't terrible, so I can't really complain. My bf and I both had the Fresh Burger and thought it was amazing, well seasoned and super tasty, fresh tomoto and lettuce, melted cheese, and I absolutely loved the garlic mayo, all of that goodness sandwiched between a soft potato bun, it was perfect! Really cute atmosphere for a drink with some friends. No gluten free options bc cross contamination - but if you're ok with cc then you can get a bunless burger. The cocktails were good. The only less than ideal aspect about this place is that when you sit down you're asked if you want to keep a tab open or close out and the default for the tip screen is at 25% which I think is preposterous. After circling around for a bit, I got lucky and found parking right in front of the place! Came on a Friday night and place was busy. Some people left so got a table and ordered the lowburger. Asked the waitress about that and the fresh burgers and she said the fresh was more of an in n out style burger and if I liked grilled onions to go with the low so I did. Delicious!!! I wished I had a better experience at Lowboy. I went there on Saturday night for a quick bite to eat. I initially got a drink at the bar and kept my tab open. Then, I moved outside to eat my food. A waitress came by and I remembered that I wanted a water. When I tried to ask for a water, she pretended not to hear me and left (I know she could hear me because there was hardly anyone outside and the music was not as loud). Sigh! And, no one else came by after so I was very thirsty. Food came out by another waitress and she was super nice and brought me a water. I thought that my burger and fries was not good at all. But, I was so hungry, I just ate quickly and decided to leave. But, then it took forever for anyone to come out again. I decided to see if I could close out at the bar since I had a tab open, but they told me I had to wait for the waitress. I wandered back and was finally able to flag down the waitress. I closed out and went back home. I used to come here all the time for good eats and service. But, after that experience, I do not think I will be back here again. read more

I absolutely adore Lowboy. One of my favorite things about this place is there is a minimal price differential between the regular and impossible burgers. Other smash burger comparable restaurants in LA will easily charge 50% more, so this soothed my vegetarian minded heart. The food is bomb. I got the impossible fresh burger with an order of fries. The fries are crispy and thin cut with heapings of salt and bomb house made ketchup/aioli dips. We couldn't get enough of them. The LA Sour is also fantastically made. I had to try to sip this one slowly so as not to order too many. The only downside is they don't take reservations. It can get quite busy, but we've always managed to snag seating. Wasn't a big fan of the pairing of the sol beer with the mezcal for the echo special. Felt it needed a cerveza with a bit more bite. The Japanese whiskey and Sapporo pairing for the shot time special was A+! The pickles stole the show for the night. The breading was tasty, the dill dip was refreshing, and 1000-type dip also packed some tang to it. My friend and I were not expecting for it make such a good impression on us. Double fresh burger (3/5): Solid basic burger made with a garlic aioli. The lettuce and onions were fresh. The patty was crispy and tasted very peppery. Gater fries with carne asada (2.5/5): this tastes exactly like animal style fries except the fries are skinnier, crispier and all the fries are evenly with thousand island, grilled onions and cheese. I'm writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the service my wife and I received during our visit to Lowboy on the afternoon of June 19, 2025. We arrived shortly after 4:30 PM. The bar was mostly full, with guests already enjoying drinks. A brunette bartender with a bob cut was working behind the bar. Despite making eye contact with me at least ten times over the course of nearly ten minutes, she never acknowledged our presence--not even a simple "hello," "welcome," or "I'll be with you in a moment." Her behavior was dismissive and disengaged, and she continued to glare rather than offer any kind of professional hospitality. As someone who has worked in hospitality leadership for over a decade, I'm very aware of the demands of service environments and respectful of the time it takes to complete drink orders. I deliberately avoided approaching the service well to give the bartender space to work. Even so, nearly ten minutes passed without any recognition or greeting. What made the situation even more disturbing was the clear discrepancy in how guests were treated. The bar was occupied almost entirely by White-American guests. A White man approached the bar after we had already been waiting patiently, and the same bartender served him immediately, without hesitation. This action placed us further back in the service queue and made it painfully clear that we were being deliberately overlooked. I eventually had to initiate contact myself, simply by saying hello. In response, the bartender raised her voice at me in a combative and aggressive tone--loud enough that the couple sitting next to us tried to lighten the mood with small talk. The entire interaction felt confrontational and hostile, and certainly not reflective of the standards expected in any respectable bar or restaurant. The bartender was combative and seemed annoyed that we were asking to order after waiting so long. When I finally placed our order, she attempted to take it from memory without writing it down. I had to correct her twice before it was entered in what I believed was going to be correct. Despite that, our order arrived incorrectly--with an additional item we did not request--and we were charged for it. By that point, the experience was already soured, and we didn't feel it was worth prolonging the encounter to dispute the charge. I encourage ownership and the Lowboy management team to review your camera footage from that evening--specifically the white camera positioned in corner on the left side of the bar above the high-top where my wife and I were seated. What occurred is plainly visible and unacceptable by any standard. I had originally come to appreciate Lowboy based on recommendations from friends in the hospitality industry. However, after this deeply disappointing experience--and after reading similar accounts from others in the hospitality industry, such as Carmyn S.'s May 1, 2025 review--I can no longer recommend Lowboy. Service that feels exclusionary or biased has long-lasting implications, and if left unaddressed, it will affect your business and reputation within the diverse Los Angeles hospitality community.
