If it's sweet and extravagant pastries you fancy, there's a chance you'll get lucky and get struck by a bolt of lightning at this kitchen and bakery. I love how ingredients are sourced from Local farmers. Staff helps out at the pastry counter and kitchen in this cozy spot. 5/5 Apple Fritters: sticky (ginger molasses?) with apple fritters is sweet and divine 5/5 Croissant Danish: Berry Jam, vanilla cream is a sweet dream in a crispy and buttery layered croissant Danish 4.5/5 iced muffin: tangy sweet and poppy seed

One of the best croissants in San Diego. Wayfare in La Jolla is another old place that knows how to make croissants. But this one is a local gem in sorrento valley. I also like their sourdough bread. They know a thing or two about baking

    Chocolate Chip Cookie

I came here to just to see what they had and decided to get the last chocolate chip cookie on a Saturday morning. Man -- that was the best cookie I've ever had and it was gluten free! It wasn't tiny and every bite was perfection! I returned the next day to see if they had any more and I was too late. Unfortunately I live way up North so I'll be thinking about this and look forward to when I can come back!

Lucky bolt used to be my go to when stopping by to grab a coffee and pick up lunch. Today I was blown away when I went to get a breakfast burrito. $13 for a breakfast burrito that is closer to $16 after tax and tip - I expect a good sized burrito that is fresh and tasty. We are in San Diego. The burritos are now no longer made to order, and they are tiny. The one I had this morning was a little bigger than a pack of cards. It tasted fine but the shrink flation is real. I also used to get the chicken soup because it was fresh and tasty but they are charging $25 for a takeaway container. This isn't Erehwon. Needless to say I am going to skip in the future.

Lucky Bolt is seriously one of those places where you can actually taste the difference. Their ingredients are fresh and truly farm-to-table, and honestly... it's worth the extra cost. I'd rather pay a little more knowing I'm supporting local farm workers and getting clean food that isn't full of processed junk. The bread is made fresh daily, and they have a great assortment of bagels and sandwiches. The Focaccia bread is AMAZING! Everything tastes fresh, not pre-made, not frozen, not fake. Also--get the app. The bagels sell out fast, and the app makes it super easy to order ahead so your food is wrapped up and ready to grab and go. And let's be real... we all go places for the food, but we go back for the service. Lucky Bolt nails that too. You're greeted with smiles and you don't just feel welcomed... you feel VALUED.

I love coming here! I have been here twice and both times enjoyed it. Both times I had been riding my bike for a long ride. Both times I got a pastry; the first time I got a lemon pastry and it was absolutely divine: creamy and delicious. The next time I stopped in, I got a ham pastry, it was also tasty and I loved the layers in the pastry. Perfection! I greatly appreciate the helpful friendly staff! Last time I was in the gal offered to fill my water bottle when she saw me walk in and look for a filling station. Kindness matters. I'll certainly be back here!

Wow! Found this place on a quick search as I needed to wait for a friend and decided to grab a quick bite for breakfast. The bacon breakfast sandwich is WINNING here! Service was quick and friendly, and food was ready in minutes. Everything in this sandwich was well prepared, fresh, and filling. The bread was very fresh and perfectly grilled/toasted. Tomato and arugula were fresh and tasty. Now, the main event of this is obviously the bacon, egg, and melted cheese (on both sides). I enjoyed every bite and was very satisfied. I will be back, and told my friend who lives very close she must give this place a try.

Average and not necessarily unique in flavor, technique, or style. Subtlety of any flavors out of the norm were simply too light to detect. Came here as part of a set of bakery reviews I was planning on doing. Shop is small and unassuming, at a good juncture right off of a very popular bike trail and the highway. The place wasn't very busy on this very random, early weekend morning. Ham & Cheese Croissant - good initial flake. Layers are acceptably separated. Good flavor. Well filled with contents and spices. Savory and hearty. Chocolate Croissant - clear traditional construction with good, distinct layers. Clearly based on standard croissant dough as flavor leans more towards buttery. Chocolate is just a tad strong, causing a difficult juxtaposition to the dough. Monkey Bread - needs a bit more flavor per cluster but remains consumable. Few raisins - could use many more per serving. Good flavor and construction overall, but otherwise standard. Cinnamon Roll - flavor profile is far too light and often feels absent. Tastes just like coiled, laminated dough with a sprinkling of sugar. Not satisfying for a French cinnamon roll.

I had a good breakfast sandwich from this kitchen and bakery in Sorrento Valley. The breakfast sammy comes with locally pastured raised scrambled eggs, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, arugula, aioli, and bacon. You can have on your choice of bread. I went with cracked whole wheat for $13.50. They put a great toast on the bread. It was crunchy and very tasty. I thought the scrambled eggs were okay. They were not made to order but were of the pre-made variety in trays and cut into rectangular portions. The sandwich would be better served with made to order eggs. The caramelized onions were delicious, and so was the aioli. It was a good breakfast sandwich. I also had some black iced tea, which was very good. The young lady who took my order was very nice and friendly. I ate inside the place on the high table along the window. They also have a few tables outside on the sidewalk.

I like the different variety of table seating to the different rooms of where you can dine. It was inviting and very spacious. Everyone that we encountered was super friendly and outgoing. It was very great hospitality. Our waiter was very helpful and check in on us quite often. The service was Superb. Now the food, we went on a Wednesday which they have Happy Hour all day. We ordered The Record Room Burger which came with Fries. This was very tasty. The fries were excellent. I tried one of my friend's dishes which was the Lamb Meatballs and that was amazing. Sadly, the B&R Mac n Cheese did not do it for me. It was missing seasoning and the flakes tasted stale. The staff did give us salt & pepper to jazz it up which did help. Regardless of the mac n cheese, I really enjoyed this place. The red wine was perfection. Overall it was a great experience and I gotta go back to check out other food items.

We did have a fairly large group so we occupied the entire back wall corner. It was a bit snug in terms of table space and leg space, but we made it work. The staff were doing their best to keep track of everyone's orders, but there were a few mix-ups in the end. Food came out in waves and had a good cadence to the meal. - FOOD - We had a lot to share amongst our group! Wagyu Tartare ($14.00): Really flavorful tartare! Had a nice tartness to it due to the Black Vinegar. Pork Belly Baos ($12.00 - 2pc): Honestly this was just OK to me. Ahi Tuna Crudo ($18.00): Very bright and refreshing. Chicken Satay ($12.00): A little dry on some chicken pieces. Crispy Brussels ($10.00): Not as crispy as I'd hoped but still good. B&R Mac & Cheese ($8.00): Very creamy, very cheesy. The pasta was a bit soft though. Flat Iron Steak & Fries ($25.00): Decent piece of steak, cooked medium well. I honestly enjoyed the fries a lot! However, there must have been something expired, cooked wrong, or just not up to quality as many of us got stomach issues that night and the next day. We were all spread out so not sure what it could have been given we ate a few different items. - OVERALL - It was a cool vibe and they have some good tasting items, but considering a few of us got sick, I'm a bit wary to come back.

It's got the decor, chairs, and art to match. Jessica was our server and she was amazing! She gave us lots of suggestions on what to try and what is on the menu since it was my first time here. She recommended the bloody Mary flight so did grab that to try! We also ordered the biscuits and gravy to share and orange juice. The portions are so large! So I am glad we decided to share the biscuits and gravy but let me run down each thing. Bloody Mary Flight: Honestly every single one was amazing. My favorite was definitely the pickle Mary! Everything tasted so delicious and was garnished beautifully. Well worth the 22 dollars. Biscuits and Gravy: Absolute perfection of comfort food. The biscuits were so fluffy and well seasoned. The gravy was also soooo good, just like my mom makes. The sausage in it was also cooked so well and juicy. I've never tried mashed potatoes with the biscuits and gravy but it worked very well! Orange Juice: Not a fan really, not pulpy enough and I wasn't a fan of the flavor. Overall this is definitely a must visit! I will definitely be back.
