My recent experience here was pretty upsetting especially since I have cravings for this place. I've even advocated for them and walked my friend over from our recent visit to Kape Republic around the corner just to make sure we plan a dinner date here very soon. Long story short, I was picking up a take out order and the girl helping me was not very accomodating. After checking in at the front, I asked if I can sit as I wait. She straight up told me to wait outside. There were plenty of open tables and not one party waiting to be seated. There isn't even a chair or bench outside the door. It's safe to say I walked out pissed and said, "I guess I'll wait in my car." It was great walking back in to see the bag just sitting there waiting for me. Customer service at its finest! read more

First time coming here! I came here around 7:30PM on a Sunday. It was super busy, but I had joined the waitlist ahead of time. The waitlist was a big wonky, as I was 3rd in line and still had to wait about 45 minutes. However, they are pretty fast. Once you're next in line for the waitlist, they take your order so that when you get seated, your food comes out relatively fast. Overall it was really good! The food was delicious!! read more

It's simply not very good with a huge margin. I don't even know if they cook their own food. It's embarrassing. We got three things: * Kimchi fried rice * Bulgogi Jumbo Rice * Korean Corn Dog I'm astounded. It's literally off the shelf items being charged at $6 (1 dog!) and probably Hmsrt brand items. Fried rice has no flavor, they don't even give you half a box of spam. Bulgogi rice is ketchup with seaweed.. hello? And lastly, the dog smells like s microwave one that they battered with flakes. Horrid. I know it's street food but when is street food $35 for two? read more

Their food was not bad but the wait though! We waited an hour on a Saturday night. And there were still plenty of people waiting when we were leaving around 830pm! We got their yup dduk combo, for $25 you get a nasty bitter coleslaw and side pickles, huge bowl of spicy rice cakes with fish cakes, yam noodles, mini sausages, and a hard boiled eggs. You also get a sections of tempura. Their tempura were pretty good but omg their rice cakes! Were so spicy!!! We ordered mild just to be safe and it was still crazy spicy for us. It was almost too painful to eat while it was hot. I can almost see smokes coming out from my ears and it was not pretty. I wish their level of spiciness wasn't off the chart so we can actually enjoy the food. Their mild is like the infamous YouTube Korean spicy ramen challenge kind of spicy. And I finished that ramen noodles but I couldn't finished the yup dduk rice cakes! read more

Stumbled upon this place when our AYCE sushi spot couldn't accommodate us and we needed a late-night food joint. Service 4/5 We had to sometimes track down our servers for service. Not a huge deal, as I could tell they were busy. My party wanted to drink, and fortunately for them there was a bogo sale on the beer so they drank 8 bottles of Hite lol what a deal right? (don't worry, I was DD haha!) Food 4/5 We were told the most popular combo set was B (and as their Yelp reviews state), but we got Combo C. I was intrigued by Korean sausage. I thought it was gonna be closer to like a a hot dog type situation buuut the Korean sausage is like a blood sausage. Not gamey at all tasted ok actually, but it did have a texture I wasn't expecting. Would I get this combo again? No. Stick to combo B We also ordered garlic fried chicken wings (bomb dot com). I would've ditched the Korean sausage and gotten 2 orders of this. We also ordered corn cheese and a steamed egg with cheese on top. I've never had steamed egg with cheese. I was pleasantly surprised and wish this was a normal thing served at all kbbq places lol. My one complaint was that I wish the tteobokki had more boiled egg. It was an extremely large portion of tteok bokki to share between the 5 of us. If you have a lot of people in your party, def add extra boiled egg. The waitress did try to scare us into thinking their spicy levels were off the charts the higher you went but I think she only said that because there were a few non-Asiabs in our party lolol. When we got our tteokbokki, we could've def went another level in spice up. It's okay though...we just ordered extra spice seasoning on the side. A place too hyped for what it actually is. We arrived, checked in. Our name was called and then our order was taken outside?! We still waited for our food when we sat. All dishes came at different times. Ordered drinks and when we asked for more water small pitcher was thrown on the table. One guest was splashed and we didn't even have a chance to ask for napkins when the waiter was already gone. We had to get a waiters attention every time. We only had an approach literally when done with food. Horrible service for the gratuity included on parties of 6+. Food is a 4 out of 10 for the taste. Clean place. Have partitions between tables There was one server in the whole place but she did a great job. Had the Set A. Level 1 Pretty darn spicy for mild. The mozzarella really added to the flavor of the food. Very filling. The so called tempura was an assortment of lightly batters crispy fried foods. Tater tot. Waffle fries. Gyoza Sweet potato fries. Showed up one hour before they were closing and they turned us away saying they were closed. We showed up on a Saturday night at 11:55pm, they told us they were closed when their hours clearly said "open till 1am". They even told us in the future if we come back, to arrive at LEAST 1.5-2 hours before they close. If you're turning customers away at midnight, update your hours to that time. read more

A small location inside but for a Saturday night it wasn't busy at all! We got the combo B that came with the Luv DDuck, rice balls, glass noodles, and fried tempura. Their rice cake was a little hard and the sauce is sweet and has a hint of seafood. Everything else was also very good nonetheless. We got the 1st level of spice and it wasn't too spicy. We also got the garlic fried chicken wing. The breading was more on the thicker side. It also had a hint of sweetness! LUV LUV the LUV DDUK- have to admit i came right back twice within a one week span. The Boneless Chicken Feet flew off the plate- we had to come back to fulfill our craving for that amazing flavor palatte they nailed in this amazing dish. (Boneless doesnt acutally mean No bones but it was very easy to eat still) The Chinese noodle was perfect and mixed with our Boneless chicken dish elevated our noodles. We tried this place for the first time and got the boneless chicken feet! We really enjoyed the flavor and that it came with rice cake since we didn't get any of the sets. I was worried about the spice level so we got regular based on other reviews but I think we could have gone spicier. Updates: I've been loving this place since the opening and noticed that there have been many changes to the menus. The spice hurts so good i literally shed a few tears and had a slight runny nose, BUT HEY no pain no gain in spice tolerance. Spicy rice cakes: i'm definitely a honey level kinda girl. The regular one is a biiit of a struggle for me, but i always end up getting this one because of my yupdduk posse. Corn cheese: had a nice charred touch to it. I'd recommend to ease the spice. Wait: depends on the day and time... but definitely less than the one in ktown. This place is much more spacious than the other yupdduk, but that's not the point of the review. Of the many times I've gone to the one in LA I think I'll start going here. The texture of the tteokbokki here feels much more bouncy and chewy like how it should be traditionally. The last time I went to Yupdduk LA the textures felt overcooked and wayy too soft and mushy for it to be enjoyable in the sauce. The sauce by the way for this location seems a bit darker than the other one, but not because of the spice but because of its flavor. The sauce is much stronger and has more depth. It also sticks to the rice cakes much better. Compared to the LA location, they also offer the wide and clear noodles here which isn't to my taste but it's there for anyone else's. They also provide the fried food in a separate dish so it doesn't get soggy as you eat, which, every time I went to the other location it was stuck in the bowl for me. This yupdduk has more of a Korean restaurant vibe as the ambience matches other more contemporary Korean restaurants. Although their service is not as good as the one in LA that's not what I'm here to review. They also reward the customer with a secret menu once you write a review, so there's a bit of an incentive. read more

We enjoyed Yupdduk with some friends so all together there were four adults and one child. We went with Set Menu C and added a few sides for the child in our group since he wasn't going to have much of the Yupdduk. So its definitely on the spicy side, we went for the most mild option, and it was still very spicy. The Set C menu had a good amount of food, more than enough for 4 adults. read more

We have delicious spicy food. Ranging from Mild to Super Spicy. (But our Mild is pretty spicy to begin with!) One bowl of our "luvdduk" or "luvOh" is enough to feed 2-4 people! We also have both bone-in and boneless chicken feet cooked over charcoal. One of our customer favorites.

Established in 2017.

"Ddukbokki" or "tteokpokki" originated in Korea and was around in ancient times. However, the spicy version of this delightful dish, made with gochujang (red pepper paste) based sauce, first appeared in the 1950's; it was popularized in the 1970's.

Wasted no time sampling the food as soon as it was served. There is only outdoor seating, so we had to chase some flies away while tasting everything. Each order had crispy skin and came with a side of sauce that was sweet and slightly sour. My favorite was definitely the Cebuchon. Such tender, savory meat! After driving +40 minutes, the skin still had a nice exterior. I do like how minimal their menu is - you can tell they are pork-oriented. The chicken katsu came with two giant crispy cutlets coated in panko. I liked switching between the curry and katsu sauce because both added different flavors. The curry was savory while the katsu sauce had more sweetness. The fried chicken wings were juicy and meaty with a tangy sweet-spicy sauce that had a nice kick without being overpowering. The army ramen soup was super comforting and packed with ingredients. It had a subtle seafood flavor that made the broth even better. My favorite was probably the tteokbokki. Yup oh - the difference between yup duck and yup oh is that yup oh comes with more fish cake instead of dubokki which I prefer. I got medium spice which was not that spicy for my taste. This place is INCREDIBLE! I absolutely love their tteok bokki, especially when I pile on all the additional toppings--they really know how to make it delicious. The portions are massive, perfect for sharing with a group. We also tried the large chicken katsu, which was fantastic, though I did wish we had more sauce to go with it. One thing to note is that the music can be quite loud and heavily electronic, which might not be to everyone's taste. If you're sensitive to loud music, it could be a bit overwhelming. I recently visited Luv Dduk with a party of 9. The ambiance was cool, though the music was a bit too loud for comfortable conversation. Service was minimal, the waiter didn't greet us, just dropped off plates and took our order. Water was placed on the table, but we were surprised by an automatic 30% gratuity fee for groups over 6. Food was hit or miss. The garlic noodles with beef were the best dish of the night, the shrimp fried rice had an odd smoky flavor, and the chicken katsu was disappointing, mostly crust with very little chicken. On the plus side, the bathrooms were clean and tidy. Overall, it was an okay experience for trying something new, but not worth a repeat visit read more

I was there with my wife and my kids mind you they are not over 10 years old . Wish the food was better it was ok I've had better and the price is ridiculous! The lady talks so fast I couldn't understand here and she never told me she added the tip in her own! She added $36 tip! I realized till I was in my car and saw the receipt we order 3 main plates small order of fries, fried wantons and corn cheese oh and mozzarella sticks and they are so cheap and skimpy on the bulgogi fries the total was $236 I don't like to complain but food taste can be better and portion could be way better got the pricing! We were coming back from a late night at Disneyland with the family and this place popped up on yelp with 2300+ ratings and 4+ stars. We had to try it and we were nervous when we pulled up because it all the signage wasn't in English but once we got the food it was SOOO good. The garlic chicken was amazing. The bulgogi was soo good I didn't get to eat much of it as my kids ate most of it. My wife got the Cajun seafood and loved it. Watch out because the food is served at a very high temperature. Also if you ask for anything spicy, it's gonna be like Thai spicy. No joke. Definitely a great random stop and we'll make this a tradition now. read more
