We are here for this giant katsu!!!! Well yeah... it's bigger than my face and probably double the size of my hand!! Still perfectly crispy on the outside and super juicy inside Also ordered the corn cheese And yup... it was HUGE too! But... more cheese!!! Okay service is great. It's the first time I've been to a restaurant where I don't need to ask for refills of water because the lady kept replacing our carafe! Thank you for that! It "looks like a typical burger joint inside with Booths. There's a side door for to go orders. Food service was quick and the portions are big. For their price, I would hope so. We ordered the following: Bulgolgi Fries Garlic Steak Noodle Egg Cheese corn Ranking in best to so-so, I'd have to say is the steamed egg. Yes, I was surprised too. I thought the Bulgolgi fries would be number one. Sadly it's not. If you mess up steamed egg, ima gonna say no to the rest of your menu. I would order two next time and just stick to that. The cheese corn was okay, but compared to PaDak and other local Korean spot I say skip this. The cheese tasted weird to me and I did t like that it was also a kraft American cheese. As a cheese lover, I only expect that square cheese to be on a burger or cheese melt. The Bulgolgi Fries could serve 3 people. But it was drenched with sauce, and spicy sauce. Not enough Bulgolgi to pay $20. The cut of fries were this nd tasted like sweet potato. It just didn't fit my taste buds. The Garlic noodle okay. That's Al I have to say about that. I'm glad I finally tried this place, but I don't know if I would come back for anything on their menu. I would rather go next door or across the street.
This place is as good as I remember it. We got the Combo A with spice level 2, which is halfway between buldak 1 and x2. The portion size is huge, so don't go ordering more food if there are only two of you. The music was blaring and they played my favorite songs, but it was between lunch and dinner so it was unnecessarily loud with just the two of us in the restaurant. Check this place out when you get the chance. I bet it gets really packed at night!
Cool little Korean spot if you're looking for a quick bite. I love the vibe inside and the service is really good. They were quick to seat us and take our order. I got the bulgogi garlic noodles and these were amazing 10/10. I just wish it came with more meat because it was really good. The garlic amount is perfect and they really get the noodles saucy which I love when eating garlic noodles. My girlfriend ordered the spicy rice cakes, I'm not the biggest rice cakes fan so I can't say much but from what I ate it was really good and it definitely has a kick. But overall this is a really solid Korean spot but there are definitely better in oc.
I recall being absolutely stuffed after coming here for the first time. I had seen so many TikTok's of this place and I was so excited to come here to try it! I was not disappointed at all. The chicken katsu is so massive and delicious, all crunchy goodness with an amazing side of curry and tonkatsu sauce. The tteokbokki had a nice spicy kick to it and it's perfect paired with the cheese. And the garlic noodles were so garlicky and I love all the onions in them. The lady who took our order was super sweet and the vibe is really nice! They play a lot of K-pop music, which I enjoyed. Highly recommend this place if you enjoy giant portions of food. Expect to take it home with you!
Great pocha-type establishment! This place definitely gives off a fast casual vibe with quick service and upbeat music. It's great for any occasion and open late so it can be good for food after late night events. We got the katsu and army stew and both were great! The katsu was huge! Super crispy and great with the includes curry and katsu sauce. The army stew had a good combination of ingredients and was good for the cold weather. Recommend to those in the area looking for a late night comfort bite!
Came here late after a concert in LA with a group of friends. The venue has a great party ambiance with the lighting and electronic music. I felt like I was ready to party again. The service was fast and to the point. Set A Combo (LD + Tempura Rice Balls) - The rice balls were pretty underwhelming because it had a neutral flavor. Set C Combo (Katsu + LuvDDuk) - I am a fan of their thin katsu. It was well seasoned and had the perfect crunch and crispiness to it.
After trying out this spot, I will for sure be making my return. Everything we ordered was delish, and it wasn't an unbearable level of spice. I've been to other Tteok spots and mild was already too much, so this was perfect. We also had an order of garlic chicken wings and those were good as well. Service was good, and there were a lot of seats when I went. I wouldn't say the are plenty of tables, but we went a bit early, so I'm assuming we happened to beat the crowd. I definitely see the restaurant getting packed during peak hours though.
Food was so good, and for the price it was even more delicious. The chicken katsu order is huge, I just wish it came with more rice and curry sauce. Everything else like the Korean friend chicken, corn cheese, loaded fries, and beef Brocolli noodles were good as well, but the katsu was the star of the show. Service was quick and staff was attractive. The restaurant is very lively and packed at night.
The best thing was probably the fried chicken!! The picture on the menu showed pickled veggies which we didn't get /: I also didn't like the ranch with the chicken but it's ok, don't have to use it The service was really good too! Always on top of refilling the water so that was nice. The space is actually quite small and it was busy on a Friday night! Probably waited 20-40 minutes to be seated!
This is a great late night spot if you are craving Korean comfort food, especially tteokbokki. Parking: The restaurant is in a shopping plaza with plenty of free parking. If you're coming here at night, the adjacent businesses are also open late so it feels pretty safe. Food: We ordered the Combo A, which comes with tteokbokki, tempura, and rice balls. It was a good value for two people, with generous portions that left us full and leftovers to take home. The tteokbokki was flavorful, the tempura was crispy, and the rice balls paired well with the spicy sauce. Overall, the food was solid. Service: The staff checked in on us regularly and were nice. One thing I really appreciated is that they are open late, which makes this a great option when many other places are already closed. This is definitely a place I would come back to when the craving for Korean street food hits.

This place is the bomb! I got combo A which is the luv dduk with glass noodles and assorted tempura. The tempura was a great compliment to the spicy dduk and the cheese was a nice touch as well. Spicy level 2 was the perfect amount of spice for me but the spice builds up the more you eat. I recommend coming with many people as these bowls are huge! read more

We have been here before when it was still yup dduk. They recently changed it to luv dduk since the last time I was here and I am excited to try the new food! The restaurant is located on the corner across the street from a Bank of America. We ordered the military soup and the combination set and are so excited to try it! read more

Came here for the first time. Wait was fast for a Saturday afternoon. Got the Set B and the portions were pretty big! Everything tasted delicious. We'd definitely come back again. read more
I tried the LA location before and enjoy this one by far! Their menu is larger in general and has more toppings. We ordered the regular spicy yup dduk with ramen (a must!) and a corn dog on the side just to try! We also got a jumbo tuna mayo rice ball to help balance out the spice. They also provide daikon to help cool your mouth down should you need it. :-) The yup dduk was super satisfying and flavorful. It comes with cheese but I would definitely like adding more to it next time. The ddeokbokki and ramen were the perfect amount of chewiness! The corn dog was super crispy but didn't have that good cheese pull like other Korean corn dogs do. The tuna mayo rice ball did indeed assist with the spice and wasn't overwhelming with the mayo. I would definitely love coming back with friends for their happy hour special of buy one get one alcohol from 12pm-12am! read more

This place is soooo good! We always get the bulgulgi fries which have sooo much cheese and flavor & the Luv Dduk spicy rice cake with no fish cakes & add ramen. It's soooooo good! We have tried all levels of spicy & level 2 is our favorite because it has so much flavor. Definitely recommend this place! Btw- the Luv Dduk is HUGE so make sure to share! read more

I'd give no stars if i could. First of all the waitlist was very unnecessary, there were many tables that were empty. The bland and small portions of food were not worth the tremendous price. The so called "bulgogi" fries were just filled with onion and load of cheese. The fried rice was very bland and seemed low quality, definitely not worth $15.99. The classic Luv Dukk was also extremely disappointing. We asked for mild (Level 1) spice yet we were barely able to enjoy the food due to how spicy it was. On top of that if i wanted to try the trending "Hot noodle challenge" i should've just went to the market and spent $5 for a pack of those instant noodles. We also ordered the Garlic Bulgogi noodle but it came 15 minutes after we got the rest of our food. The check came out to be an estimate of $150 including the ridiculous 18% gratuity. I genuinely believe that percentage of gratuity isn't deserving due to the fact that the service was really slow, we had to yell to grab the waiters attention and on top of that the lady with the thick Korean accent was really rude. After the disappointing experience, we were given the check and my friend decided to go up to the cashier and ask if they accepted apple pay. The lady was being extremely rude, acting like there was a rush when there was barely anyone in the restaurant. She told my friend to just sit down and wait when we all clearly wanted to leave already. Overall, we will definitely not come back or recommend anyone to this place. read more

Really loved the food it was so delicious, my friends and I got the combo with the fried chicken and it was more than enough food. You have to get the bulgogi fries it was so good. We did have to wait a bit but the service was fast. The only thing is that the music is a bit loud so it can be hard to converse with friends, but other than that it was a good experience. Will be coming back soon. read more

If you are on this page, you probably already know how good tteokbokki is, and maybe you had a chance to eat some in Korea. Yupdduk in Korea is probably my favorite due to the soft yet chewy texture of the rice cakes. The ambience is very Korean which caught me off guard at first, since it was so similar to the street bars in Korea. We sat and the waiter was very nice, explaining the menu for us. We ordered the yupdduk with rice balls and glass noodles. First impression: the portion is BIG. Prob can feed a hungry 4 people group. The rice cake was not exactly same as ones from Korea but not bad. The odeng (fish cakes) were really good. Glass Noddles were a bit undercooked but got better as we kept eating. We got the mild but still pretty darn spicy, so if it's your first time, get the mild and work yourself up. Also we got the coolpis (pineapple drink) which took the edge off of the spice. All in all, recommended with 4.5 stars read more

Probably one of my go-to places for tteokbokki in the OC area that I recommend to folks visiting the area! SUPER huge portions for the price, and definitely shareable food. The regular yupdduk is good, but I recommend going for a combo for some extra eats on the side. As for spice level, regular won't blow your head off :) read more

Fake reviews for free food. I went here and the food sucked, really expensive (20 dollars for bulgogi fries) and they give you paper plates, napkins, and plastic cups. I also tried to jjajang dduk and it was just okay. Smelled like black pepper. The music was like going to a bad nightclub where they play really shitty music. don't waste ur time going here. read more

LUV DDUK! My girlfriend and I always come here when we're craving tteokbokki, this is the BEST place for it. Service is very good even though they get a lot of customers, portions are also big if you wanna bring more people. We usually get the Luv DDuk it does not miss, rice balls on the side is fire too read more

Wow! This place is amazing! We had a great experience and the food was sooo good! My favorite tonight was the Kimchi Fried Rice (comfort food). I ordered another one (to go) to take home to my 16 yr old son. He loved it too! My second favorite thing is all of the fermented veggies. When paying the bill, they offer a discounted price for cash payers. Next time we will come p We'll be back for sure! Enjoyed another meal today and tried the Yup DDuk (set B). We did the lowest spice level, and it was almost too much...not quite though. Very interesting and the rice balls and cold pickled radishes cool off your mouth. We HAD to order the "Pan Fried Kimchi Rice" again! It's still wonderful! Too much food for 3 adults, but that's ok. We like lea overs. read more
Yupdduk is now my go to place when I crave spicy food. People warned me of this place that even the honey spice level is hot. And I regret ordering a honey level. I am eating while writing this review. So far, it's okay. It's spicy but not too spicy. I will probably try next level up next time. Anyways, out party of three ordered set (combo) menu c which comes with ddukbokki topped with mozzarella cheese, a boiled egg, assorted tempura, soondae(blood sausage) and rice ball with nori. I ordered corndog just because it looked good on picture. We have finished most of the food. We were served free corn cheese for posting review on Yelp. They were all good. I especially enjoyed the corndog. Batter was typical but the tempura like breading made it very crunch. If you like spicy food and can handle it well, I recommend you to try regular or mild spicy level. And don't forget to order "Coolpis" the Korean Tang like drink. It will soothe your mouth when eating spicy food. read more

Would someone with a severe seafood and shellfish allergy be able to eat here safely (can't be cooked in the same oil as fish, not shared equipment, NO fish sauce or oyster sauce)?

Are all your food are spicy?
All foods will have a spicy level option from mild to hot! Thankfully, mild isn't too bad but you can still request for no spicy!

Are the rice cakes here made from rice or wheat flour? I know that sounds strange, but a lot of Dduk is made from wheat flour not rice flour, and yet Dduk is often still just translated as "Rice cake."

Hiya! So I am not a spicy type ramen person do they have a mild spice? Or a light spice that is not over powering? Also what is in the ramen? I am not big on fish cakes but I do like rice cakes too! And veggies!!

Some cheese and sausages come in the normal yuppduk ddukbokki but not alot!
