Maestro Pasta was absolutely amazing. From the delicious freshly made pasta, you can see them making the pasta when you walk in to the Italian imported foods of Prosciutto and mozzarella. We had the Proscuitto Bufala for appetizer with arugula which was so delicious. I had the bolognese sauce with pappardelle and my husband had the Boscaiola which was a creamy mushroom & meat sauce that my husband said was the best tasting pasta! I loved the atmosphere of the swinging chairs on one side of the table, such a cool concept. The owner Allesandro and his staff were all very attentive and friendly and so passionate about making the best authentic Italian dishes. I felt like we were in Italy, the pasta dishes and appetizer were that good. It is up the block from 2 comedy clubs so great to have dinner before going to the show. But I was not impressed with the service, and when they brought the check and insisted that the gratuity was automatically added for parties of 4 - well why expect good service when the waitstaff know they are guaranteed a 20% tip regardless. And now that I look at the bill, they applied the 20% to the 3.95 percent credit card surcharge. Basically I think they are ripping people off. No where was any of this disclosed - the credit card surcharge or the mandatory and automatic 20% tip. The food was disappointing. Appetizer sized portions of pasta served cold. And you had to ask them to bring Parmesan. And no spoon to help twirl the pasta. Meh. My out of town guests liked it. I wouldn't return. read more

I LOVED Maestro's!! The food was amazing. The inside was such an intimate cute vibe as well. The seats were swings! Very cute! I had a wine recommended by my waiter and it was awesome. Chefs kiss! Perfect blend of sweet yet dry! Forgot the name of the wine. For the meal I had the pesto fettuccine. The pesto was AMAZING. It was so fresh and tasteful and the noodles were cooked to perfection. I added a little Parmesan and pepper flakes on top to set it off and it was an amazing dish. And the perfect size. My boyfriend had the Anolini Pasticciati, I wish I got that too! Everything was so perfectly made and so fresh! The only thing the wait was long, it took awhile for our waiter to come and take our order and the wait was about 25 minutes for the food. But the food made up for everything. I even ended up going back a couple days later for more pesto pasta but they were out. Definitely a bummer but I can understand why. I got to maestro's on time with my date for the evening, went to the front and told the lady working at the register "I have my reservations for 8pm. She sees my name and says "yes right this way". She begins to sit me and my date on this small little table (looks like a kids table) tucked in the front end corner of where the high seats (which I preordered for) begins. I begin talking with the lady and in a nice way try to explain to her that I have a bad back and my bad has spasms if I sit to low to the ground hence why I preorder. But she had retorted and said the following to me and my date: "what is the difference between where your sitting and the high seats". After that my date and I said "thank you but we are leaving". I really do hope maestro pasta teaches there staff about being respectful and understanding. To question a customers request isn't a good way to handle business. And more info they had open seats I have reserved for open but they gave them away to other folks (I was the only person of color within the establishment). read more

The starters were excellent, and the waiters were very nice, and would ask how the food was, and what we need. The music was quiet at first, then the volume of the music increased to the point where it was almost impossible to have a conversation. We asked the manager to dial it down, and getting the request met amounted to hurding cats. Apparently the owner of the restaurant mandated the volume be dialed up on Fridays and Saturdays. Eventually, the volume of the music was brought back down to an appropriate level. This level of service was not expected, especially in a restaurant of this calibre. We ordered three pasta dishes, and the pasta was very fresh, two of which did not have enough sauce. The cacio de pepe was the best dish of the three. read more

Randomly walked past this restaurant yesterday while going to the park and we knew we wanted to come back that evening for dinner. The menu sounded delightful and with the homemade pasta, we were sold! I had the fettuccine past with truffle cream sauce and it was amazing! My friends both got a Bolognese kind of past with pappardelle, also yummy. We had a bottle of white wine which was also good but overpriced and nothing particularly special about it but it worked. I've ordered the FiDi location's pasta for delivery several times and I'm generally very happy with it, so was glad to see that a new location was opening close to where I live. It's definitely meant to be a more upscale experience here, and the prices reflect that. I ordered pappardelle with bolognese sauce and was pretty happy with it--a reasonable portion, generally "light" as far as pasta goes. Since this seems to be a new location though I wanted to offer some feedback on the experience broadly, apart from what I specifically ordered Pros: The decor is nice, and the swing chairs are really fun, service seems good Cons: The pan "plates" are worse than actual plates - fork scratches against them and they don't rest stable on tables. They gotta get a block of Parmesan cheese to grate for the pasta. And it would be cool if the menu had some actual appetizers and such -- it feels like they just jacked up prices from the FiDi menu and made it harder to customize the entrees read more

Overpriced and super bland , I would say the only thing here that's good is anything truffle related . The pesto , funghi and ravioli were some of the most bland foods I ever ate . Not worth the price, I really thought I'd be in for a treat but was sadly disappointed. I love how they were able to bring to the States the modern/young Italian restaurant vibe that you can only find in certain cities in Italy. The most mediocre meal I've had in a really long time. Everything was below average...from the food to the service. The homemade pasta could have been straight out of a box. The sauce might just as well have come straight from a jar. And the meatballs were tiny and tasteless. And the service was subpar. So, if you want a really overpriced, underwhelming, $100 Italian dinner that you could have made at home for about $5, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, there are a million other much better options pretty much anywhere in the neighborhood. A complete waste of time and money. Although some of the bench seats were swings...so that was kinda cool and fun. But that's pretty much the only thing this restaurant has going for it. Oh...and I almost forgot to mention: If you pay by credit card, they add on a 4% "Service Fee" which they neglect to mention anywhere...unless you happen to notice it on the receipt after the fact.
