I just noticed I uploaded pics to the Galleria location, this review is for the MEMORIAL location. My badss! Starting off strong with happy hour drinks (you have to order at the bar/bar area). Next, the complimentary, fluffy, warm dinner rolls served with butter, yum! I believe these are different than what they offered years ago. I limited myself to one so I wouldn't get too full. Upon perusing the menu, it looks like the best deal is the Famous Family Style Experience. It's perfect for 4 or more people in your party. The deal entails: Salad for the table 2 Appetizers 4 Entrees Desserts for the table $44/per person Definitely more than enough! My personal faves: Calamari Grilled Salmon Chocolate Cake & Tiramisu, tied Our server was great, and even packaged our leftovers for us. I don't have a single complaint about this experience at all. We haven't been to Maggianos in almost 20 years. Why? No idea! It's now going to be on our normal rotation. We live on fulshear so it's a bit of trek. But worth it. We did the family sharing meal with the other couple we were with. What a value! And a fun way to try several entrees and dishes. The cocktails were so yummy (try the moscato mojito) and the wine was great. The highlight was the service by Carlos. He was OUTSTANDING. Profession, friendly, welcoming and helpful. Happy Valentine Day! We started our favorite Appetizer, fried Zucchini Fritte. I think we dreamed about them. I had the Crabcake Appetizer with came with two. One comes home with me. The garnish salad was just enough. Hubs had Blackened Salmon with Spinach and Mashed Potatoes. He loved it. The Dinner Rolls were wonderful. Course Salted tops and bottoms. They even did us the huge favor of charging my phone, which we deeply appreciated since my husband and I are on a road trip from San Diego, California to Florida! Came for an event and decided to stay for dinner after. I have been to this location a couple times and I always have the best service and the food is pretty good too! Our server tonight was Christian and he was fantastic! Very helpful with the menu, checked in on us to make sure we were enjoying our meal and just overall very kind and warm. The bread was a table favorite, its light and fluffy with thick flaky salt and perfectly complimented by the butter. I really enjoyed the chicken piccata, it had a perfect lemony, buttery sauce with a great acidic kick from capers. One of the best parts of the experience is the bread service--they bring out these wonderful, warm yeast rolls for free, and they are absolutely delicious with the butter. For starters, I highly recommend the meatball appetizer. You get 6 meatballs, and they are huge! It's a very generous portion that is perfect for sharing. If you are looking for a lighter main or just want to save room for those rolls, you can easily split a salad between two people. Hosted by financial and architectural groups Calamari Fritte was one of the appetizers we liked best, but all were outstanding. Roasted salmon on a bed of tender spinach Was superb along with rigatoni and chicken Marsala! We tried everything. The sumptuous chocolate cake and tiramisu put the finishing touches on a delicious and informative luncheon- The waiters were carefully orchestrated and efficient in both serving and getting dishes on and off the table speedily and effortlessly! We hosted our Christmas office staff party here of around 150 people. We have had many events here in the past. We are never disappointed with the food and excellent service at Maggianos! Such a beautiful restaurant and in a gorgeous location! As always, the family style entrees are perfect for the large tables. And the desserts were over the top this year! Over the past several years I have become a bigger fan of this chain. I was disappointed that they no longer have meat sauce or angel hair pasta, but at least the other items I get here are consistently tasty. I ordered the Shrimp Fry Diavolo with grilled chicken added the other night. It was very well-made, soft in every bite, moist in every way and very delicious. The pasta was great. The tomato cream was really balanced in prep with a good savoriness to it. The shrimp n grilled chicken were all tender and good too. Great, friendly service as well. I also had the Pasta Bolognese awhile back n it was also very delicious, meaty, moist and contained good noodles. Realizing I had one right up the street, I visited the one in Clear Lake and had the experience of an overpriced chain restaurant in a mall. I had asked to replace the potatoes with pasta ... they just added a side of pasta and served my fish with mashed potatoes (a combinations I have never been fond of). I thought of complaining but it is so obvious the wait staff is just students trying to make a living. This is what I get for going to a "nice" restaurant while reading "Unreasonable Hospitality." It's been a long time since we visited this place. Recently I've been getting many email promotions from them. One of them where they mention wagyu beef meatballs caught my attention. Even though we've been going to many good Italian restaurants in town we decided to give them a try again. Well, our first mistake was when we entered the restaurant on Thursday night when most good places are usually packed with people it was basically empty, save for a few tables. They asked me for my phone number and sent me a message that we are number 9 out of 147, even though a hostess took us to our table right away - after all, the place was almost empty. Very lame attempt to marketing, indeed. So our first mistake was that we did not leave right away. Oh, well... Have to admit, though, that that service was nice and attentive. For the appetizer we ordered Caesar salad and wagyu meatballs. I've been ordering Caesar salad in many places, from La Madlene to fancy restaurants and it always been good. Different, depending on the place, but nevertheless good. So it was hard for me to imagine that it is possible to screw up that simple dish. Alas, they managed to do it here. It was totally bland and tasteless and we could not finish it. As for wagyu meatballs, they tasted as plain beef meatballs, nothing special about them. I'm quite familiar with the taste of wagyu meat, it was not. As a main entry we ordered Fettucine Alfredo. The pasta turned out to be of so-called 'plastic pasta' category - definitely not home-made pasta, but rather cheapest pasta you could buy. The alfredo sauce was liquidy and bland. We put a ton of parmesan cheese on top of it in order somehow improve the taste, to no avail. Half of the order went back. Because of the nice and attentive service I give this place two stars rather then one, but we won't be coming back. read more

We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had high expectations for both the food and the service, but we were disappointed almost immediately. To start, the bread was extremely salty and soaked in far too much butter. It gave us the impression that it might have been frozen and not fresh at best. Not a great start. The service was mediocre at best. Our server seemed to make the minimum effort, with an attitude that suggested they simply didn't want to be there. We ordered a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, and unfortunately the server didn't seem to know how to properly pour it. There also wasn't an ice bucket brought to keep the wine chilled, which felt like a basic service oversight and suggested a lack of training. We ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer, and while the presentation was acceptable, nothing about it stood out. For our main course, we ordered the fettuccine Alfredo (which was already overpriced) with the sauce on the side. The server asked if we would prefer the pasta tossed in butter instead, and we agreed. However, when the dish arrived, the noodles looked like they had just come out of hot water and had been sitting on the counter for several minutes. They appeared dry, sad, and completely lacked presentation. The portion of chicken was also quite small considering the price. We ended up sending it back and asked for it to at least be tossed in butter with a bit of parsley so it would look somewhat presentable. My entrée, the salmon, was okay--but it was slightly overcooked and far from memorable. Another disappointing aspect was that no manager stopped by our table during the meal. For a place that used to pride itself on hospitality, that was surprising. Most disappointing of all, we mentioned we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, yet there was no acknowledgment beyond a coupon to come back. At the very least, a small congratulatory dessert would have been a nice gesture. This restaurant simply isn't what it used to be. It feels like it's going downhill, which is really unfortunate considering the reputation it once had. And sadly, we didn't even take photos of the food--because it just wasn't worth the memories. read more

My family and I used to love this restaurant, and over time as they've increased the prices we were okay with it because the quality stayed the same. Low and behold, they just recently raised the prices again but lowered the quality too. No more olive oil, cheese, or balsamic at the table. No more large portions - now they're smaller and in different plates. No more meat sauce - now everything that used to be part of the meal is an extra charge. I'm genuinely stunned at how far this place has fallen. I never thought I'd say this, but I would honestly choose Olive Garden over coming back here. Maggiano's Little Italy used to feel authentic and special. Now it feels watered down and generic. Sweet rolls with butter instead of the classic Italian bread with olive oil and herbs? That alone changes the entire experience. Rolls and butter belong at a steakhouse -- not an Italian restaurant. The bruschetta now has a soft cheese spread that completely alters the flavor. Angel hair pasta is gone -- and we were told they "didn't carry it very long." That's simply not accurate. I ordered it multiple times over at least a year, and I don't dine there every week. It was clearly a staple long enough for regular guests to expect it. The chicken fettuccine was $28 and absolutely not worth it. The portion size has noticeably shrunk, especially the amount of chicken. Paying more while receiving less food and lower quality is frustrating. When we expressed our concerns, the manager acknowledged that "corporate made changes" and said some people like the new rolls and some don't. That was essentially the end of the conversation. There was no sense that guest feedback mattered -- it felt like our disappointment was no big deal. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Now it feels like a completely different place -- and not in a good way. At this point, the only consistent thing left are the mints at the front -- and I'm honestly surprised those survived the cut. read more

So, my family had a Christmas get together dinner on a rainy, humid night at this location in the Galleria area. There were so many people with big parties so getting the food was a struggle at times. Our server sporadically appeared but it was obvious that they had more customers than they can handle with their wait staff. Food wise, it was good, not great. Luckily, their complimentary bread was hot and delicious so we ate a lot of it. For a party of 12, it was great to share dinner with the family. We were allowed to visit and catch up but after almost 3 hours of sitting around, we were ready to leave. I understand the issues that the restaurant has to deal with this close to Christmas. However, it is a disservice to us paying customers when we get frustrated with the service. Overall, this a good place to come and dine but probably not during the holidays. Maggio's Little Italy was absolutely incredible from start to finish. First of all, the service was outstanding. Our server, Joey from Puerto Rico, was hilarious, humble, and as attentive as can be. Every single suggestion he made was on point. You can see in the pictures what we ordered, but I have to highlight the four-cheese ravioli with pistachio sauce -- it was absolutely unforgettable. And the butter cake... oh my God. To this day, I am still thinking about that butter cake. I would honestly go back to Maggio's just for the butter cake and a nice cappuccino.
