Settle in kids because this is gonna be a long one. If I could give them negative stars, I would. Firstband foremost DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD. I arrive after a very, very long day of work with my 7 year olds in tow around 5 tonight (Friday). We are seated instantly. Well, thats a good start. And we get our menus, decide what we want, and we wait. And wait. And wait some more. About 15 min later, the waitress finally takes the kids food order, appitizer, and our drink order. I'm still deciding. We wait another 10 min or so, she brings back the drinks, for some reason my daughters is in a huge glass.....ok whatever, and takes off as I'm saying "excuse me miss" trying to order. Okieeeeee. Another 10 min or so goes by, app comes out, she starts to walk away and I finally successfully order my meal. Right after the kids food comes out. Thats cool, because they eat at the speed of smell. Let's pause a second, shall we, and talk about the food. "Crab puffs" are the appetizer. Atrociously spiced. If you want to suck on a can of old bay, be my guest. My daughter got the "fillet medallions". Medallions is plural, correct, no not in Maggy McFly world. She got one, quarter inch thick medallion about the size her fist. For $11 i can get a halfway decent full size steak at the diner. To be fair, it seemed like it was good quality, unlike the ice cold mashed potatos and the overmicrowaved green beans. And please don't tell me they arent, I was in the restaurant business for 10 years. My son had a burger with some applesauce. It was exactly how it sounds. The quality was on par with the price. Finally, my meal, the "farm to table burger" comes out. It is done perfectly and delicious. Not a single complaint. The kids have dirt cups for dessert, takes me another 10 min to get my check. Were sliding up on an hour and a half here. No biggie but at this point I'm exhausted and want to get home. I check out the bill, for some reason shes charged me for two adult drinks. Whatever, not worth the fight over 3 bucks right now. So she takes my card, and I wait. And wait. And wait some more. And then finally she comes back and says she has to explain something. Long story short, she swiped my card on an $80 table, realized it wasnt mine, and swiped my card on my table. My $60 dinner has turned into $140 real fast. But then she throws in "no big deal, it will be back in your account in two business days" Halt. No big deal? What you meant to say was two business days. Its the friday before new years eve. So if I'm lucky I'll have my money back.....Wednesday. I'm supposed to be taking my kids on vacation tomorrow and that $80 thats "no big deal" was a third of our spending money for the weekend. The manager never bothered to say a word, they never asked me if it was ok, nothing. So now I have two heartbroken kids. So thanks Brianna! No big deal! Have a great New Year! read more

First time to the new addition to Glastonbury. Went for lunch. Lunch menu was easy to get thru but I don't know if I have seen a menu like this one since seeing my first Cheesecake Factory menu. Krystal was our server and she was absolutely wonderful. She helped us with the menu. I'm always a little worried when they do Mexican, burgers, Italian, Thai, you name it it's in that menu. Krystal suggested one of her favorites and it was very good. Rolls where brought to the table but since kind of dried out and nothing special I ate one and my wife at a half of one. The rest we left. My wife enjoyed her lunch as well. If you knew me you would know I like large portions and mine made me very happy. I thought the prices where very good. I have to say that when the bathrooms are not clean we all wonder how clean the kitchen is? That scared me. The restaurant looks so nice but the restrooms are something else. The first time we went to Maggie McFly's was just after it opened and I remember being very neutral. I'm glad we gave it a 2nd try. The parking lot was full but the valet parking is free so we pulled right up and let them take the car. We sat at the bar for drinks while waiting for our table. The music was a little loud (we all felt like we were yelling) but our waiter was doing a good job and our party of 4 all enjoyed their meals. I saw a few other orders of the Cobb salad go by us as we waited so I tried that and enjoyed it. Hubby had prime rib, our friends had the turkey dinner and a steak. Everything was warm and tastey. Maggie's has a HUGE menu which always makes me wonder how they can do ALL of those things really well... but it looks like they've gone for doing all of them well enough. read more

They also have a wide alcohol list, with many beers, which can be seen from most of the restaurant in their state-of-the-art bar. All items on Maggie McFly's grand menu are a little/slightly on the pricier side, but the food is good and a pretty generous size for what you order! The atmosphere at Maggie McFly's is comfortable, light, and fun. Though the music may be blasting, patrons will enjoy the comfy booths and massive TVs at the bar (which can be seen really no matter where you sit) while you munch on your tasty meal. My family and I got a bucket of soft pretzels, a cheesesteak sandwich, and clam strips. Each meal was extremely delicious! The clam strips--you have to try them to see for yourself how spectacular they are!! They are only available as a summer item but they are worth the wait all year!! They are some of the best I've ever eaten. We've eaten at Maggie McFly's before and had the corned beef sandwich and a hand-spun vanilla milkshake (made with Praline's Own local ice cream). The corned beef was some of the best corned beef we've eaten, and the shake had thickness and great flavor! The service at Maggie McFly's is spectacular, like its clam strips. Each time my family and I go here, the servers are kind and very attentive. This most recent visit, we had a server--Nina--who worked efficiently and very hard, checking frequently to see how we were doing and if we needed anything else. Second time here this week. I've sat at the bar both times. Every time I've come I sit and it takes at least 7min to even get acknowledged. Place was not busy either time, a simple hello I will be right with you suffices. Attitude was miserable by bartender, clearly did not want to be here and at this point neither did I. My coffee only order at this point comes out cold. Trying to get the bartenders attention I have to legit yell "HEY", never introduced himself and never even checked up on us. 10 people at the bar so not slammed. Appearance wise, dirty glasses as well as a broken glass on the glass shelf and on the floor. This place must be bleeding $$$. Considering all the other local area establishments were packed. I want to start off by saying parking here can be hard! I lucked out and as I pulled in someone was leaving. They do offer complimentary valet if you can't find a spot. The menu here is massive! I am talking 10+ pages. Made me question the freshness of the menu items. They also have an extensive drink and beer menu. When we sat down the waiter (and waiter in training we had) asked if what we wanted to drink and if we wanted any appetizers. We ordered the edamame potstickers. And before we had even finished looking though the menu or the waiter had come back to take our dinner order, the appetizer came out. This was very bad timing because we wanted to decide what to eat first and while we did our appetizer got cold. And the potstickers were a let down. They were coming apart and not very crispy. Not a good start to our meal. I ordered the bang bang shrimp and chicken and subbed brown rice for the white. My entree was delicious! A tad spicy but very flavorful. We didn't get dessert but were very tempted! The offerings were very extensive. Including cupcakes from a local bakery and table side s'mores. I have been to Marty McFly's a couple of times now and enjoy myself each time I am there. The first and most impressive part of the McFly journey is size of the menu and options you have. There is a large kick of simple, small menus in other "trendy" restaurants, and I just don't like that. I love large menus offering meals on meals on meals on meals, because that way there is always something new to try when you go back, and it gives you a reason to return as well. Hello McFly's has quite the sizeable seating area, and a massive bar that wraps around a centerpiece of liquor and drink. They also offer quite the drink list so if you have just had it with the normal boring selection, this menu offers you the opportunity to adventure in to unknown drink territory where you never know what you'll find, or when you'll leave. The one issue so far is that It is not fun to go to on a busy night, the parking is horrendous unless you want them to park your Delorean for you with a valet service but I know I don't like valet personally and I don't even try to go there on a Friday or Saturday night at all. So if you want to try Maggie's I would suggest going on a night early in the week to try it out, unless you like the busy hustle and bustle then just go back and unread everything you JUST read. I went to Maggie McFly's with my family last night for my mom's birthday and we had such a great experience! We sat outside and our server Olivia was so wonderful and sweet. Even though she was training at the time, she got our orders correct and was very patient with all of our complicated orders. The manager was also incredibly patient with us and provided extraordinary customer service when we had to wait a little bit before receiving our appetizers. When our food arrived, Olivia came over to make sure we had everything we needed and generously allowed us ample time to enjoy our dinner. Thank you so much for your service Olivia! They have one of those WTF menus. Multi pages with 500 items giving you maximum variety. Kinda like that "is this a novel??" menu you get at the Cheesecake factory. But the similarity ends there, as the cheesecake factory has a lot of stuff and most of it is a boring representation of what the menu claims it to be. Maggies on the other hand makes a reasonable attempt at giving you what you ask for. The Nodines BLT is a good BLT, with bacon sourced from a local ( more or less) smokehouse. The Garbage burger is a decent burger ( not actually sourced from a dumpster but has a pile of misc stuff on board). Fettucini with blackened chicken is slighty perky and the portions are good. You can get NORA cupcakes for seven bucks a pop, yet another local establishment. They let you know right on the menu where they get their localized supplies, giving you a sense of.. " see just how fresh our ingredients are?" Yah, the prices are a bit up there, "7 bucks for a friggin' cupcake???", but not a deal breaker. You can go there with a crew and because of the menu variety, everybody will find something they will be interested in. Anytime I see a bible sized menu somewhere, I get the vibe that, ' sure they have a lot of stuff to choose from, but because of that, no individual item is really going to stand out from the crowd' and this is true here. But that being said, Ive been running through the menu, trying different things, and have not been disappointed in any of them, but haven't really been 'WOW'd" by anything either. Maybe a few nitpicks here and there, Fish and chips, give me more tarter sauce, Chicken fried steak, give me more sawmill gravy, etc. They will hook you up. 3 Stars equals A-OK. I liked this place. The menu is Cheesecake-Factory-Huge but I find that to be a good thing. Our waitress on this quiet Saturday (before noon) was very pleasant. My wife ordered the fried chicken sandwich and I had the Cuban. The ham on the cuban was pretty fatty and I'm weird about fat but other than that the pork, cheese and bread were very tasty. The wife's sandwich was fantastic for the two bites she gave me. I liked that they had beer flights so I had one with 4 IPAs and they were delightful. A note to management....the open vibe of the ductwork is really neat but those vents are in need of a MAJOR dusting. I found myself distracted by dust clinging to the duct above our table. read more

If you have severe allergies, be very wary here. This is a tough review to write, because everyone else at my table loved their meals, yet I wasn't able to eat mine. We came in on the late side because of a delayed flight into Bradley, but this restaurant was chosen by local family members because the menu was extensive and seemed to have quite a few allergy-friendly choices (I am severely allergic to dairy, gluten, and egg, but am pretty adept at navigating that while eating out). I ordered a usually safe choice for me--tacos with corn tortillas, and made sure to let the server know what was up. She said she'd verify that all was well with the order and my food came out a little while later by a different server. I asked about one of the sides, and she assured me I was good to go. I had two bites and then she came back and said not to eat anymore--that the corn tortillas had wheat in them and that they would remake on lettuce. I really appreciated that. The food came back a few minutes later and had obviously just been out from the tortillas. The original server confirmed that and apologies, saying she felt really bad about what had happened She offered to find something that I could take to go, but by that point, I really didn't trust that I'd have a safe option. I am so used to be able to eat out with severe allergies and I haven't had an experience like this before. Two bites of gluten has left me with a slight reaction, but if it had been dairy, it would have been a whole different story. Service is usually good. I agree with others that the parking could be better, and I don't like the cutie pie cupcakes as much as I liked Nora's. It's still a go-to for our family though. read more

So sad to see this place has gone so far downhill. The original locations in Middlebury and Southbury used to be my husband and my go-to spots back when we were still dating years ago. Wow has it changed -- I haven't had a worse meal at a restaurant in many, many years (and I go out to eat at least once or twice a week). On top of it, the prices are what you'd expect for a nice restaurant, not the trash they serve here. Frozen pretzel, blandest chicken salad I've ever had on margarine-lathered Texas toast (not the brioche the menu stated), soggy wings ... and the worst spaghetti and meatballs we've ever tasted (my son wouldn't touch it and he eats pretty much everything). Service was horrible as well - drinks took 35 min to arrive and when they did, the order was wrong and they didn't offer to get the right drink. Food took an additional hour to come out. I cannot understand how this place is still open and busy! What a shame; I have fond memories of the old Maggie's. read more

With a massive menu, good food, and within walking distance of at least two hotels in Glastonbury, Maggie McFly's will satisfy any picky eater. So like most of these reviews, I was staying across the street at one of the two hotels and had driven by Maggie McFly's. I was pleasantly surprised to find it a very good bar and restaurant. The inside is very spacious with a sort of upscale-yet-still-a-sports-bar atmosphere. Even with our group of eight, we had no problem finding a seat at dinner during the week. The menu is absolutely massive - if you have picky eaters or just love variety, this is certainly the place for you. After reading the thousand page menu, I decided on the Spicy Latino Hangar steak ($19.99) with crumbled bleu cheese on top, covered with sweet/hot peppers, tomatoes, scallions, and white rice on the side. The steak was unique and very tasty - charbroiled to perfection. I recommend spending the extra cash for the bleu cheese to counteract the spicy toppings. The rice was also well cooked, but unremarkable, almost as if it was an afterthought. Overall, It was an excellent meal, and the fact it has a full bar/restaurant so close to hotels makes it a must visit. But even if you're a local or staying a little further away, Maggie McFly's is worth a look. read more

Maggie McFly's is a nice stop for professionals looking for a casual place to drink that borders on upscale, but doesn't get lost in that pricey world. They have a very large beer selection, a large selection of wines, and they also boast a whole lot of martinis which they spice up with flashing light-up ice cubes. They look cool, and are pretty fun to play with, as you can change the color to anything you'd like. The Bar also offers late snacks, for 3.99, ranging from things like calimari, to onion rings, to nachos, and so on. I didn't order from this, so I'm not positive about the serving size. The other patrons were mostly like in their early 30s, the bartender was very friendly and attentive, and the order came up very quickly. The interior was very nicely decorated, and outside they had a fire blazing, which added to the ambience. This is a great little stop in Glastonbury, right near the highway, and well worth a visit. read more

It was my friend's birthday so she picked Maggie McFly's for her birthday dinner. First of all, parking here is so atrocious. There are not enough parking spots in the minuscule parking lot and I am not a big fan of valet services. I did find a spot and since I was the first of our group to arrive I went in to request our table for 9. I was surprised that a table was ready, without a reservation, on a Saturday evening, and I was shown to the table right away. Our waitress was wonderfully charming and we enjoyed goofing around with her. Of the food, everyone at the table enjoyed what they ordered. Salads were good, burgers devoured and pasta polished off. The disappointment for me is that my eggplant fries were burnt. Burnt and oily is not the best flavor profile but they were still edible. Another disappointment came when we noticed we were being dripped on by a pipe located directly above our birthday girl. We were able to move our table but seriously, put in a proper ceiling Maggie! Not the best restaurant in the world. The HUGE menus need to go, they need a ceiling and a bigger parking lot, and they need to stop sending out burnt food. I have such a love/hate relationship with this place. I've enjoyed just about everything that I tried so far but man, the take out service is NOT GOOD. We usually order to-go since we live right up the street but there is always something wrong with the order. Super disappointing. I ordered the Grilled Vegetable and Goat Cheese pizza over the weekend which was fantastic. My husband ordered a BLT with extra bacon. He ended up with some kind of turkey sandwich. Tonight we ordered ceasar salads and a half pizza each. The salads had no dressing and my pizza had no toppings. I order the Thai Chicken pizza and it showed up looking like a cheese pizza. They were kind enough to remake it in a full size but again, it's so disappointing that they can't just get it right the first time. That being said, I really love their pizzas. The website says they make the dough there every day. It's always the perfect chewy texture. So delicious! I guess we'll have to stop ordering to-go and start dining in! read more

This is kind of a hit or miss chain, and this location really isn't an exception, though it is more reliable than the Manchester location. Often, however, the sandwich meats/burgers are dry, and it just seems as though they stopped trying. When they first opened, the food was much better and more consistent. The prices are also too high for the value received, though with better food and service, they might be able to justify them. This particular restaurant suffers when compared to nearby restaurants like Max Amore and Max Fish, which don't cost all that much more but are more reliable options. On a positive note, they offer a wide gluten-free selection. read more

This is one of my favorite places to dine in CT! I love the atmosphere indoors, large menu selection so everyone is bound to find something, and they use local ingredients in many dishes. Our meals came out piping hot and were delicious. Highly recommend the buffalo cauliflower as an appetizer! Unfortunately, they were out of ingredients to make any mules and somehow weren't able to make any of the zero-proof libations (non-alcoholic bevs listed on their online menu, no where to be found on the paper).
