For starters, my Chicken sandwich was great. Tender chicken, nice roll. My wife's Crab sandwich....so. so. My friend got Chicken parm. It was good. Large serving. Took half of it home. We came for our second time and again this place didn't disappoint. Food was so fresh , great portion size and great service. I am a restaurant manager and this place does it right. I wish the owner would open one up in Wallingford where we live it would be a gold mine. I had the pot roast and it was like a home made meal, my wife had sesame chicken and loved it and my son had chicken tenders and loved them. The appetizer of nachos was great as well. Here are one man's thoughts after three weeks into launch period: Atmosphere / Vibe: Much more upscale than I would have imagined. Actually went with my wife, five year old son and neighbors who had a 2 year old. I think we all thought this would be a local version of your basic bar and grill concept, but immediately felt that the bill was going to be higher as we walked through the door and saw leather clad booths, wine closet and very modern appearance. Not a bad thing, per se, but don't go expecting a middle-class, kid friendly environment. More of an adult focused establishment. One very odd thing: The floors are extremely slippery...honestly, I felt like I could glide across them in my shoes...Not sure why that is, but could easily see a slip and fall in Maggie's future...Liked the bar area in particular...Very nice presentation of televisions and bar very well stocked. Service: Service was OK. Will chalk up the lack of menus to new restaurant glitch. We were only given 2 menus for 4 adults and another server came over after 5 minutes to ask if we still needed them! I will say that the menus are leather bound and very nice, but if it comes at the expense of sharing one amongst 2-3 people, I'll go with a cheaper version, thanks. Service was slow to start in taking drink and food orders, but food / drink came out at good pace once orders were taken. Food / Drink - Three of the group ordered burgers and one ordered a salad. Kids had chicken nuggets. Each couple split a French Onion Soup. We all had beer (with exception of kids, of course!). Everything was very...ok...Nobody commented that the food was great and when you look at the prices being charged, that is the expectation you are setting. Burger platters (burger and fries) were $11 - $13, salad I believe slightly more, and beers were all $6+. When you decide to put yourself in this price range, you are going up against the likes of Max Burger and Plan B and the food was not up to par. When everything was tabbed up for two burger platters, a kid's chicken nuggets, 3 beers, and a French onion soup...total bill (tax / tip inc) came to $70...let me repeat...$70! And I know I could have gotten the same amount of food / drink for the same (or lower) price from Plan B and the food would be that much better. Which is exactly what I explained to our neighbors and will be the next place I take them to. I get what Maggie's is trying to do here and appreciate them trying to make a location work that has failed so many times in the past. Location is ideal for us and having a fun restaurant there would be awesome. Just not there right now and would not expect the place to last when others in the area are doing the exact same thing and doing it better / cheaper. Perhaps a deal comes up down the road (Groupon, etc) that provides another chance to try. For now, will stick to more tried and true bar and grill establishments... read more

Delightful! Great service, atmosphere and food! I had a very yummy chicken salad sandwich with sweet potato fries and glorious organic green tea. Wow, huge disappointment. Poor service. Mediocre food and loud atmosphere. I would not return, ever. My Cajun chicken sandwich was overpriced to begin with and they added $2 for a goat cheese substitution. 3.50 for an ice tea and 18.37 without tip. Pricey for a sandwich which was just ok. The servers were ok, but the wait for food was 35 minutes! They never even asked if I wanted a refill of my tea! Many other superior choices in Glastonbury including Max's and Bin 228. The menu here is STAGGERING!!! There is for sure something for everyone on this menu. The food is OK not great and not bad just OK. I felt it was a bit overpriced on the alcohol side and the food side. I was shocked that a pint draft of a normal beer was $7.00. All and all I would say if your in a large group and you cant agree what type off food to get this place is a good option. Mind you I have not gone to this restaurant since covid started. But, I thought it would be nice to get some takeout from there considering in the past it was amazing. I called and placed my order: 2 burgers, onion rings and mozzarella sticks. I was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. I got there a little late and was waiting there for 30 minutes inside. There were barely any other people in there so it was already ridiculous. After finally getting my food after 4 people tried to assist me, I came home to find my medium well burgers were extremely rare. Funny considering they had an extra 30 minutes to cook it correctly. I am absolutely disgusted that I paid $60.00 for these burgers that were almost uncooked. When I called to complain I was told I would get a refund but I will never be going here again I am beyond upset of what this establishment has turned into. From the reviews I thought it might be more of a kids' restaurant. There is an extensive, no just large, wine and beer menu. There is also a pretty big food menu. The volume is loud but happy. I ordered Bang-Bang chicken and shrimp. Very tasty but oddly prepared with slivered vegetables that were difficult to eat with just a fork. There was no bread or crouton to use to help it along. Although it would have added to the calorie count, it would have been a nice addition. Counted stars for for not having a completely attentive wait staff. My server was nIce but not terribly prompt. TLDR: Food wasn't bad, but the service was terrible and the restaurant was very, very loud and busy. My experience here was on a Saturday night around 7:30 with a party of 8. They did not accept reservations, so we called ahead. After waiting for about 45 minutes, we were sat in a very tight booth. As soon as we sat we were handed one of the most extensive menus I've seen. Think cheesecake factory extensive maybe worse. I ordered a beer and a sandwich, and the rest of the table ordered mixed drinks and more extensive entrees. The appetizer that was ordered for the table wasn't bad, and neither was my beer. However, someone in my party ordered a vodka tonic where the tonic was flat and it was a bit weak. To return this took about 25 minutes. There were similar episodes of this type of service. At the end of the night we ordered desserts and coffee, but no one received their coffee. The sandwich I ordered turned out pretty good. After dinner a few of us stayed for drinks. At this point there weren't many people there and it still took forever to get our drinks, even though we were seated within earshot of the bartender. I'm not sure how I feel about it. This has to be the worst service I've ever had. I came to this location with a bigger party a couple of months ago and the waitress was terrible. I decided to give them another try thinking maybe the service was bad because of the large group but NOPE! For starters my boyfriend ordered me a water with lemon while I was in the bathroom and he told me that they were out of lemons and they had to cut some more. While we're at the table talking we noticed we didnt even have straws for our drinks so when the waiter came by we asked for straws and ordered 2 small salads for starters. About 20 minutes later our waiter comes back to take our order AND DIDNT COME BACK WITH OUR SALAD. We place our order and it comes out within 30 minutes but the waiter didn't give us utensils. Once she came back to our table to ask how the food was we told her we didnt have utensils and we had to wait 5 mins for her to bring us some. At this point we still didnt have our salad so I asked her if she could take the salad off the bill because we didnt get it. She told us she forgot. At that point we were ready to go. I asked the waitress for a togo box and she said she was going to get it. She walked past our table 3 times without our box. She came over to us one last time asking if we needed anything else because they were closing in 20 mins and i told her we've been waiting on our boxes for a while now. After months of hearing about this place by numerous friends and hearing how cool it was my boyfriend and I gave it a try this past Saturday. We went around 6:45 when we first pulled up we thought it was packed by the looks of the parking lot, I was pleasantly surprised to walk in the door to no wait and a friendly staff greeting us. We were sat right away. The decor is Awesome! It's industrial it just looks so cool. The only problem I would say is the noise level, VERY loud between the people talking & the music, but it's like a big warehouse so noise echoes. I ordered the lobster roll and baked potato (I am not a big fried food girl so I skipped fries). My boyfriend got fish and chips (went with sweet potato fries) and SOOOO many at that. My meal was AMAZING I loved every bite, and I am a super picky eater keep that in mind. My boyfriend said his sweet potato fries were great & he wished the fish has not so much crust (as he is not a huge fried food fan either). The fish was good though he said. We had a great sweet friendly server named Patty. She was awesome from start to finish. We ended with a piece of carrot cake, and a cupcake to go (I am a cupcake OBSESSED chick). Carrot cake was great tasting, but needed thicker layers of cream cheese and the cupcake (boston cream) from sweet Maria's was just "ok" defiantly not the best cupcake we have had. You'd think that having to have a drink Re-made and food sent back would be a recipe for disaster and in most cases it probably would've been. It was my fiancé, our 1 year old and I first time at this location. Instead of it going south we had the most wonderful service. We were so worried about being bothersome and we were never made to feel that way. Our waitress Mariah was so wonderful, patient and transparent with us. If we ever go back we hope she's available. The manager Leeann was also amazing, she cane directly to apologize and make sure the order was prepared properly and in a timely manner. We don't judge harshly, as humans we understand that things happen; what's important is accountability and excellent service which this establishment surely isn't lacking! The food was excellent and the building was very clean. We will for sure be returning back after the way we were treated and how well the food tasted. Whenever a friend of mine is in town this is where we go. We always start with a drink and a full sized order of the steak skewers. This last time that we went I ordered the pot roast and it was amazing! Melt in your mouth cooked and seasoned to perfection. The pot roast was paired with a veggie medley and garlic mashed potatoes. My cousin had a birthday so the family chose this place for a big meal. It wasn't a bad call, though there were a few problems. The Good: The menu is extensive, offering a ton of options. Service was very good -- prompt, efficient, and error-free. The latter is always a big bonus for me. Everyone there was courteous and friendly. They also had a decent selection of drinks, though I did not indulge. The Bad: This place was loud. The only restaurant I've been to that's louder in recent history is a buffalo wild wings. 70's, 80's, and 90's Alt-rock blared at ear numbing decibels, and I could barely hear the person next to me. The Ugly: While the food tasted ok, it was all pretty bland fare. Also, I felt they tried a little too hard to step up presentation without really having any clue what they were doing. As an example, the "Chinatown Dim Sum" was all fried items, yet they served it in a steamer tray. WTF are they smoking? Parking, too, is a bit of a mess. While the lot itself was pretty big, they messed everything up by having some kind of valet service cluttering up the side of part of the lot. These fools were in the way, chain smoking and chattering with each other, and generally being a nuisance. I'm not even sure they were connected to the restaurant itself, but damn they were only a few steps out of the door. Overall Maggie McFly's was interesting, but a mixed bag. read more

Great evening with great friends and a GREAT waiter named Scott K. Scott did not hesitate to give an honest answer when asked about an item on the menu. We inquired about his response and his explanation spot on. Our food came out promptly, accurately and prepared just as ordered. Scott was attentive without being intrusive, our water glasses were re-filled many times without having to ask. The burger was cooked perfectly and the salads were fresh, tasty and delicious. Went for the first time on the advise of friends who said it's great. We started with the fried Mac and cheese appetizer and it was really good, that's why I gave 2 stars verses just one. I got fish and chips for an entree and they were soggy. My coleslaw had some foreign object in it and the server just brought a new one saying "it must have been a fry". It was black and gross looking, definitely not a fry. The other entree we ordered was the grilled cheese. It was just ok, definitely not worth $9. I've been here a handful of times & have had varied experiences: Lunch - this time was my best experience. Fast service, great quality food, and can easily find a parking spot! Dinner - this time is the busiest (obviously). The service is much slower, parking is hard, and the food quality isn't the best. Take out - the worst! I've ordered takeout from here twice & I'll never get takeout again. The food quality was horrible - cold & soggy food (and I only live 5 minutes from this place). One time we ordered, was told it would be 30 minutes until we could pick it up, showed up and the food was never put into the system. This was so frustrating! So we had to wait 45 minutes for the food to finish so we could take it home. We were annoyed by the carelessness. Personally I don't think this is a place for a date night but this is good if you have a large party of people & no one can agree on a restaurant. The menu has A LOT of options! read more

We waited 20 minutes until we finally flagged down a hostess to get us a server. No apology. Server finally showed up (same guy had passed us 4 times), no apology. Drinks came back incorrect. Food was nothing special. Saw our server getting reamed out back so I felt bad and left an OK tip even though I wanted to leave 2%. They clearly have major staff issues. I had such high hopes but was disappointed twice. My first visit was ok, waited for a table, the place was very busy. I ordered a salad and the miso salmon. the salad was bland to say the least, the salmon was over cooked and the rice it was on was crunchy on the edges, i think it sat under the heat lamp too long. Waitress was extremely friendly. I figured it was a new restaurant they would get it together. Second trip was worse, went for lunch on a Saturday and had Chris as a waiter. The diva of a waiter was not only obnoxious but horrible at his job. When questioned about an item on the menu his response "I don't even know what your talking about". The tuna melt was weak at best, a few pieces of shredded cheese, not slices, with cold tuna in the middle and a few peppers. Asked for the check 3 times and my mom was never given her take out, after waiting so long we gave up on the take out and left. I don't think I am brave enough to try it a third time. Good lord. When you walk in here, you would think it's the only restaurant in a 50-mile radius, based on the lack of parking, the lines out the door and the deafening din. I'm not sure how to explain the crowds -- it's family friendly eating with an overwhelming, inch-thick menu and decent food. I love it here at Maggie's. The food is consistently good and so are the drinks. I especially like that there is a Happy Hour Food and Drink Menu with great specials like fried Mac and cheese, calamari and egg rolls. Maggie is an excellent place to dine! Have never had to wait long for table, the service is excellent, and food came out quick and was awesome! UPDATE: I called to ask the Manager to thank her crew for our phenomenal experience - she asked me to give the name of our Server (was sorry I couldn't remember - I knew I was close but I didn't want to guess) - found the receipt: Maura was amazingly attentive (even if they hadn't been so busy, which they were!!) and soo nice, and knew the menu front and back (I'm not even sure how that's possible, it's longer than the phone book!), and our various special orders (mine for one: their mixed grill salad is the best salad ever, but I felt like scallops instead of steak - HECK yeah I got 'em, no problem, and they were delicious!!) My hubby ordered the reg. cheesecake - we were told they were fresh out, but then another young woman (I didn't get her name, I wish I had though) who was also amazing said she'd come up with an "irregular" slice (spoiler alert: it was pretty much a double piece...:D!!) To start, I don't normally enjoy finding other people's hair in my food. After taking one or two bites out of my taco, I felt and saw a hair hanging from it. After being thoroughly disgusted and letting the server know, the manager came over to speak to us about the incident. The manager, who seemed like she could care less, offered me a new taco. Very few apologies came from her and I'm pretty sure she just said what she felt would shut us up. As for the others in my party, their Cuban and quesadillas were bland and seemed to be missing quite a bit. As for the beer list that had been newly printed seconds before we received it, the beer that was chosen wasn't even available. If it wasn't for our amazing server, Lauren, the entire experience would've been awful. Props to her for trying her absolute best to make our time there as okay as it could be with the circumstance.
