Bathrooms are horrendous and if you plan on attending happy hour and not order full meal you will be asked to give up your table since they can make more on turning over multiple dinners then drinks and appetizers. We came at 5 pm; they were not busy but we were seated directly across from the noisy bar. Waitress took our order for drinks, two beers and a soda. Fifteen minutes later we left, walked right by her and she never even noticed us. Bartender chatting up her friends/customers--apparently too busy to pour our drinks! Really frustrating to sit six feet from the bar and not get a drink in that amount of time. Menu is also suspicious--can any restaurant have Thai food, Mexican food, Pizza and American cuisine all on the same menu and do all of that well, and have the ingredients fresh? Unfortunately, we will never know because we are never coming back. I give this place six months unless they learn how to welcome and serve customers. read more

No parking, extremely loud and very pricey for a chain restaurant. The food was good but inconsistent in portions. The wait staff was great...professional, attentive and friendly, but high turnover. You rarely see the same staff there from the visit prior. What stood out during many of my visits to Maggie's is the unprofessionalism and rudeness of management and how harshly staff was treated. They were scolded and demeaned in public view. Even if everything else was perfect at Maggie's, I would not return and give them my business because of how poorly they treat their employees. We ate here about a month ago: hub and I ordered the calamari as an app and it was PERFECT. Very tender, while rings, whole small squid: perfectly cooked. Kiddo ate the delicious free bread. Dinner: kiddo had the Caesar salad with chicken; the portion was ginormous ! Very fresh lettuce and a tangy dressing and yummy grilled chicken. Excellent but a LOT! Hub had the Bleu cheese bacon burger & said it was perfectly cooked. I had a Reuben & it was yummy; tender, but needed more thousand island dressing which our slow server brought out. I was stuffed but kiddo and hub split the warm chocolate lava cake which they raved about. Only complaint was the server never came back to check on us & we were dying if thirst. It wasn't too busy so that was a disappointment. However, the food was excellent for the value, and we are going to take kiddo &!her girlfriends for her 14th birthday, as the dinner and dessert menu is perfect. Highly recommend! read more

I heard this was a good place for families but decided to check it out first. The location in Glastonbury and the clientele they would be catering to should give them the opportunity to provide a high level of service and product. NO, I went the the bar, requested a premium beer and poured it into my own glass. Then I ordered the titled dish English Fish and Chips, It came as uncooked, burnt battered fish and french fries. When I requested it be returned the manager informed me, that that was their style of English Fish and Chips. I toyed with giving this a 3 star rating, but ultimately had to go with 2. I went here for brunch last Sunday and had a less than stellar experience. First, the service is slow. We were one of maybe 5 parties in the restaurant and it took quite a while to get our drinks. After we got our drinks we placed our order and this is where the real problem began. Most of is ordered make your own omelets, which should be very easy, write down the ingredients then move on the the next. After a lengthy wait for the food to come out (we were able to order 2 more rounds of coffee and beverages), we found that almost all of the omelets we're missing cheese and contained the wrong ingredients and the eggs over easy were practically hard boiled. The servers were very nice and the manger sent over a round of mimosas on the house and remade any of the meals that weren't up to par, but even the food that was remade took a while to come out. When we did get our meals the food was good, not exceptional, but it's eggs and pancakes so it's hard to make them exceptional. In the end I believe they really do have a commitment to their customers based on how upset they appeared to be with all the mistakes, but the speed of service and all the issues made this a solid 2 star experience for me. This is a regional chain offering a great concept with friendly and helpful staff with an upscale delivery (none of that meant to be pejorative). Came here as it was convenient to hotel and while seated at the bar all the locals told me I found the "crown jewel" of Glastonbury. The food looked great and the mix of young/old and local/traveler for clientele was perfect for the frequent traveler. Yes, there were more fruit flies in the bar than I would have liked and the barkeeps knowledge of the extensive draft selections fell short but that is me picking away at the margins. I have been a semi regular at this restaurant for the past year and a half and I am not going back after what happened on Sunday September 20th at approximately 7:30pm. My girlfriend and I stopped at Maggie's because it had been a staple of ours when we are unable to decide on the restuarant. The food actually is pretty good overall, but the 1 star specifically relates to this event. Right at the end of dinner, my girlfriend started a coughing fit and then her face began to turn red indicating to me that she was having some sort of allergic reaction to whatever she consumed. Neither of us were aware that we is allergic to anything (she is still seeing an allergist about that) and Maggie's was also unaware. While neither my girlfriend nor I hold Maggie's responsible for the actual allergy attack itself (since it was no one's fault), I do hold Maggie's accountable for the absolutely abhorrent response from the manager of the restaurant and the lack of judgment that was on display. The first thing that she did was fail to properly assess the situation. I am trying to calm my girlfriend down so that she does not pass out before the ambulance arrives and the manager is interrogating her for information (clearly to protect the company) without any appreciation or regard to the fact that my girlfriend's throat was CLOSING and that she was struggling to BREATHE. The second action I hold Maggie's accountable for is the fact that the manager did not step aside when first responders arrived (in this case the Glastonbury police department and EMS). She is still trying to get information and is obstructing the first responder's ability to treat my girlfriend and the officer had to pull me away from the manager so that he could take down my information and gain an understanding as to what was going on (like he is supposed to do). Before I mention the third thing, the manager is trying to figure out what caused the reaction (ok something good), but then she said (paraphrasing) "Well you should have told us that she was allergic to something." in a very disrespectful tone and was completely uncalled for reaction trying to blame us for the situation (yes as my girlfriend is still gagging at this point before the EMS arrives). The manager maybe realized she said something she shouldn't have but tried to recover, but in my mind the damage was done. On top of that, she indicated to me that there have been other situations where people have had allergic reactions, but for someone that might have been part of these situations, she clearly had no idea what she was doing. The third and final action that I do hold Maggie's accountable for is the fact that the manager took down my information (including my phone number) and I never received a follow up call from her, nor ownership regarding the situation. This combined with the other two actions show an extreme disregard for my girlfriend's life that was put into jeopardy by Maggie's (regardless as to whether both parties knew about the allergy) and clearly Maggie's is ill equipped to handle an emergency situation involving a food allergy, which is downright pitiful because they are in the food services industry. To me it is absolutely disgusting how the manager and the owners show extreme disregard for their customer's safety in an emergency situation and care more about covering their own behinds then the present customer experiencing a medical issue. If the owner responds to this post by indicating that he/she is unaware of the situation, my response is that the employee/manager is your responsibility and their actions reflect on you and in this case, they reflect extremely poorly (and you should be aware that emergency services were called to a location that you own so double shame on you). As indicated above, we don't hold your organization accountable for the allergic reaction, but we do hold you accountable for the EXTREME lack of judgment and the I don't care follow up. Never coming here again and telling all my friends what happened so that they don't come back either. read more

Really, how much does lettuce really cost?? Especially when they are advertising "Giant Salads".The buffalo chicken salad was advertised with blue cheese, they sent ranch. We went to Maggie's last week at 11:30 am on a Friday. We got there early since there is very little parking for a place as large as Maggie's. I asked for a quiet table so we could talk since my past experience there was extremely loud. Even though it wasn't very crowded, and there was a whole row of unoccupied tables near the windows, we were seated on the main walkway near the kitchen. The noise was extremely loud even though the restaurant wasn't crowded. It must be bad acoustics in the place and music that was way too loud. We were seated quickly and the servers, Chris & Mike couldn't have been more helpful. Our food came quickly and was delicious. As it always goes, heard great things, came here and it was not great. Upon being seated, we were presented with a massive menu. My boyfriend and I looked at each other and just knew what was in store. With so many items on the menu, you knew hardly anything was made from scratch. It was extremely overwhelming to read through all the pages, so when the server returned, I asked what the most popular entrees were... Shepard's Pie, Fish and Chips, Salmon, and another english pub-type dish, which was strange to me because the restaurant did not have that kind of a feel. In fact, it had no feel - no theme, no colors, nothing. Anyway, we ordered beer and figured out what we wanted. Our beer came back - bottles were cold, beer inside was warm. Lovely. Our appetizers were OK - fried calamari and ahi tuna wontons. Our entrees were terrible. I ordered the Seafood Casserole with a baked potato with butter and sour cream. I swear when I was presented with the potato, it had at least 1/3 of a cup of sour cream on top. While I like sour cream, that is A LOT. The actual dish was the only thing about this meal that could be associated with "casserole." It was literally seafood chowder poured into a dish with maybe two tablespoons of breadcrumbs. I should have sent it back, but I did not want to wait for another meal to be heated up. My boyfriend had the sausage cavatelli. It was bland, the sausage was tough, and it was a very small portion served in a gigantic bowl with a huge lip. We won't be coming back here. read more

I've had this place bookmarked for way too long. So over the weekend I finally made the trip to give it a shot! It's so nice inside. Our waitress, Nina, gave us some of the best service I've received in a while. The menu is so huge it's like a book. We were so overwhelmed by all the choices! First we started off with a couple drinks. I got the blueberry lemonade and my boyfriend got a beer. The drink was so tasty! For appetizers, we tried the roasted brussel sprouts and the chips with guacamole. In all honesty, the chips and guac weren't the best I've had. But the brussel sprouts.. those were some of the best things I've ever tasted. For our entrees, I got the bang bang chicken and shrimp, and he got the fried clam strip dinner. The presentation of my dish was beautiful. Although I wish there were more than two pieces of shrimp, it was perfect. The spicy peanut sauce was like nothing I've had before. I tried a few of my boyfriends clam strips and I must say, I thought fried seafood was one of those things you only get down on the shore, but these were PERFECT. I frequently go to the Manchester location and always leave happy, however I was very disappointed with the Glastonbury location. The staff was inattentive and rude and it was NOT a busy night, at all. Not once did our waitress check on the table. We all sat with empty glasses the majority of the time and had to try to flag her down to get another drink, which then took forever to get. We were all ready to leave by the time our second round came and we were in the restaurant for hours. The food and drinks also were not as great as they usually are, in fact my drink was not even correct and the food was cold when we received it. When we pointed out we were not happy the waitress could not care less. Definitely NOT the same great service we receive in Manchester/ Overall, a bad experience, which is sad because Maggie Mcflys is my favorite restaurant. First visit and probably the last. We were there about 2 pm on a weekday. Food was just ok. Restaurant was loud. More of a bar atmosphere. Wait staff friendly in the beginning but our waitress got a real attitude when she thought we overstayed our welcome and because we were two woman,I think she thought we wouldn't tip well. We did but shouldn't have. When she came to collect the bill and I said I needed change (in order to give her a bigger tip than she deserved) she grabbed the bill folder and threw it back on the table when she returned with the change - which was dollar bills not loose change! The restaurant was not busy at all so we certainly were not tying up a table - she had other "guests" who were there almost as long as we were ( 2 hrs). All of the waitstaff seemed like they hated what they were doing and were barely tolerating there customers. Most of the time they stood around the bar area talking to the bartenders. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant unless you are a 20 something that is sitting at the bar, drinking and eating appetizers. Certainly not conducive to leisurely dining and an enjoyable meal. My friend in I went there specifically to see if it would be a good place to have a luncheon with a group. Definitely not! After searching around for restaurants to have a nice dinner with Family in celebration for my sons 1st birthday. We came across Maggie McFly in Glastonbury which is rated to be a 4 STAR restaurant. Let's start with saying I made reservation for 15-20 ppl and it was only listed as 15ppl. Then when ordering drinks the water tasted like STRAIGHT TAP water. My brother was skipped over and order for drink wasn't taken. But that's not where it gets crazy. Here comes the food: my nephew ordered fish and chips received fish that was NOT fully cooked, his mom ordered shrimp scampi where the shrimp wasn't fully cooked.... Then remember my brother who was skipped over when ordering drinks yea him his WIFE never received her mac&cheese lobster ..... We were seated near the door which caused a cold draft. I'm not sure if they are use to catering to such a large party but if not they sure do need training. Not only that my mother in law made complaints to the manager Jeremy during the dinner, but when we were on the verge of leaving she asked the waiter to have JEREMY the manager come out and he refused so she told him to ask the manager the phone number to call and his response was LOOK ON THE WEBSITE. Not only was the manager rude as all hell but obviously the COOKS CANT COOK!!! Today was our first visit. There were five of us, all adults. We aren't very picky people, but we believe we should get what we pay for. We ordered lobster bisque to start. Did not have even have one piece of lobster, but plenty of clams. We asked the manager about it because we thought they gave us clam chowder instead by mistake and she talked to the kitchen staff and they said, they do put lobster meat in, but also a lot of clams. So she brought us a small plate with three tiny pieces of lobster on it and said she would take two of the lobster bisques off our check. I noticed **'s next to some of the food items, but didn't see an explanation for them, so I asked the waitress what the **'s meant. She had no idea but said she would ask and let me know . . . . needless to say, she never asked . . . oh well, I guess I may never know. It took about 20 more minutes after we finished our "clam" bisque before we even got our lunch. When lunch did arrive, four of us recieved our lunches and the fifth person in the group waited 15 minutes more before she recieved her Lobster roll (guess that explains why the lobster bisque had no lobster, they obviously ran out of lobster and had to find another one for the lobster roll). One of us ordered steak, it came on a plate by itself with a side salad. No bread, no vegetables, no potato and it was a steal at $25.99! Spent $127.00 not including a tip. It's too bad our first time was like this, if it had been the second time, we would have probably given it another chance, but I doubt we'll be going back there. Chili's or The 99 would have been just as good, if not better for a much better price. By the way, the chicken fajitas we not good . . . they were served with corn tortillas and they fell apart while holding them to fill, very difficult to eat. read more

Excellent service at bar by Mariah! I have food allergies and she never makes an error and catches the ones the kitchen makes. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't eat here so often. She is an outstanding server, with great attention to detail,hard working and quick to serve but still makes you feel you are appreciated as a customer. Love the bar bites menu. Unlike other places it's available whenever kitchen is open. Biggest complaint is unreliable hours of kitchen. Although they state they serve food late it seems to be dependent on how cranky the evening chef is(different chefs different late nights) They advertise late dining but late night menu change over and kitchen closing varies as much as winning lottery numbers. I usually call first to see if the kitchen is closed or not and have gone elsewhere when they close early. Bar in large part due to Mariah has built good following especially with late food. Many servers from other restaurants come here. However, when kitchen closes up early it kills the bar off. Seems to lack any management at night.
