My 'group' have never been disappointed going to Maggie's on Meeker in Kent WA. The crew is always friends and efficient. The food choices over the past and now after new ownership have never disappointed with good sized portions and fresh made meals. On prior visit there was a new face- Kentra was amazing! This morning, my first time here, I ordered the chicken-fried steak, 2 eggs, red potatoes, sourdough toast ($13.99) and coffee ($2.89). I actually compared pricing at several breakfast café-style locations first. It was a toss- up with Wild Wheat a block away. The chicken-fried steak with gravy was very tasty, a little salty, but very flavorful. I liked it. The eggs were perfect! The red potatoes were not pan-fried or refried cottage potatoes; they were cubed... closer to French fries without the grease. I was very satisfied with the breakfast! The coffee was bottomless and the waitress was generous, service was very prompt. I had my covid mask, immunization card, and both were asked for in a very respectful and polite way. Based on only this one experience, I think Maggie's is a solid business, tightly run and very aware of the value proposition they offer to their customers. I think they take advantage of the best restaurant supply products (see photos) and keep their prices low. These are hard times for restaurants (6% inflation nationally), and we have to respect the businesses that balance service, quality and price as well as Maggie's demonstrates. Vegetarian review. Maggie's is probably my favorite hometown-style diner that I've been to so far. The space is deceptively larger than it looks on the outside, and is minimal and clean on the inside. The food is exactly what they advertise: simple, delicious, affordable, and well-done diner food. They have a variety of quiches and some other specials on the weekends to add variety, but I almost always get the griddle breakfast, with pancakes or a waffle (try the waffle "fabulous" with fresh fruit and whipped cream if it's available!), and swap out the meat for hash browns or breakfast potatoes. When I'm feeling super savory, I'll grab an omelette with tomatoes, peppers, and onions. Nothing I've had here has disappointed me. The service is really top notch--we are always warmly welcomed, our coffee is kept topped up, always checked in on regularly, and the food comes out fast. Even during busy weekend brunch times, we haven't had very long of a wait for a table of 2-4. We've also done takeout on occasion and had great experiences with that as well. read more

This place has been here forever! It isn't fancy by any means, but it gives you a fairly decent meal. I got the corn beef hash. Usually at breakfast places like this, I will have leftovers, but the serving was pretty small and I was able to eat it all and not feel overly stuff. The prices are on the higher end, considering it is kind of a hole-in-the-wall type. The service was decent. Overall, I would eat here again, but it is not my first choice. read more

Cute spot for brunch. Had cornbeef hash and Mom had the breakfast Skillet. Pros- Waiter recommended the breakfast sausage link and it did not disappoint . Eggs ordered as over easy and it was made perfect. Cornbeef was yummy, actual beef brisket chunks and it was well seasoned and tender. Lovely ladies that greeted us were awesome and friendly. Prices went up and food quality went down. I always get the chicken fried steak which the portion is way smaller as well for the hash browns. I live 45 minutes away and loved coming to Maggie's but something about today's vibes were off I should've noticed when the walls aren't so busy which is something I loved. Maggie's is getting one star ONLY because at the end of our meal was credited, otherwise I wouldn't even leave a 1 star. We were seated after about 10 minutes of entering the restaurant this morning our waitress was immediately welcoming and took our order. My daughter ordered a strawberry Italian soda, we ordered two coffees and our food. The waitress came back and apologized as there was no strawberry syrup, so she changed to a raspberry Italian soda. The glass game cracked, we thought our daughter kept spilling, but no a huge crack at the bottom of the glass so we had to grab another waitress to explain why we kept having messes. 10 minutes after we ordered our waitress comes back and tells our daughter they actually have no strawberries for her waffle. She pivots again and orders raspberries, 45 minutes later my husband receives his food, 12 minutes later her food comes out with only bananas (waitress was like whoops and brought a bowl of raspberries), and I continued to wait for my food. About 15 minutes later another worker realized I never got my food and went to check. I ended up just canceling because it was 30 minutes past when my husband got his food and I was so ready to get out of there. I have been a long time customer of Maggie's because I support local businesses but I finally had enough. Back in June I took my family there for my birthday and waited 2 hours for biscuits and gravy. When it came it had grease covering the top layer and was disgusting. I asked they said new cooks so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Today I order and nothing has changed grease covered gravy Burt potatoes and the blandest flavor you can imagine. I don't know what happened to the delicious food Maggie's had been known for but they lost me as a customer. read more

Lots of problems here, so let's jump in. Issue #1 is mine. When I arrived, I realized I had been here before. I can't say exactly when, but I'm going to guess it was about 6-7 years ago. The fact that I didn't remember the name should inform you on my initial impression. Once I recognized the place, I remembered it not being memorable. This place is the definition of no frills. The flooring looks old, there is no decoration and it's a wide-open floor plan that makes you feel like you are at an Elementary pancake event. That said, the place is clean and tidy, just appears to be 50-year-old construction that has never been improved with the exception of the kitchen area. Issue 2, I checked the website before coming in. The website lists a bunch of breakfast items and advises that they are below $10. Once there, nothing was less than $10. I am going to assume the website hasn't been updated in about 4-5 years. In the end, I had bacon and Eggs. It was $14, not worth it. The portion is the smallest of recent breakfast stops and the price is the highest. I think $12 is my reasonable cap for bacon and eggs. This place wanted $7 for a side of bacon. I can get two pounds of bacon at the store for $7, so why are you charging me $7 for 4 strips? Service was okay, I wouldn't call it friendly, but I wouldn't call it rude, it was more of cattle drive of get them in and get them out. I'm pretty sure I can get breakfast for less in Bellevue and lord know rents there have to be twice as much as Kent, so somebody is truly stuffing their pockets with this place. I can't say I see the investment back in the business. Since it's less than likely that they lower prices, my suggestion would be to increase portions, because anyone willing to drive 10 minutes in either direction can find a better breakfast for less. read more

Really love coming to this place, service is great and breakfast is well made and cooks are very fast. Haven't tried their dinner menu yet, cause I always come here for breakfast, might have to try it one day. The taste of their hash browns are buttery and the biscuit taste so freshly made. I am so happy to see Maggie's is open again, I absolutely love this place. The quiche is absolutely amazing as is all of the other breakfast I have had. The quiche is servings are really nice size, about same size wedge of a nice slice of pie. The only difference is, they are about 2" thick and stuffed full of filling and the eggs are so silky. It's excellent. My only issue is they make a very limited number quiche for the weekend and sell out by Noon on Saturday. These things are so popular that just fly out to the tables. Working with two other employee and they were wanting to take an early lunch. Denny's was on their mind but I refused. Thankfully, I did. Found this little gem through Yelp and so thankful I did. The weather outside was horrible. Many roads were flooded and closed yet there were a lot of customers inside. After experiencing their food, I can understand why. Co-worker got Biscuits and Gravy and the other got Corn Beef and Hash. This is a breakfast/ brunch joint in the Kent area that has the locals lining out the door. A hectic and busy place, this small feel diner has tons of seating and servers and is a more rushed dining experience than most places you'd go out to brunch at. We were seated pretty quickly as we made it a point to get here kind of early and I immediately noticed how eclectic the designs were in this diner. Kind of a mix between a few purchases at some garage sales, mugs from random stores that didn't really have a theme and kind of just a lot of junk on the walls. The space itself too reminded me of like a elementary school's dining area that's been converted into a restaurant. Food: my fiance got the meatloaf special that came with eggs. I got a maggie platter that came with a couple pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Pancakes were not the best, super spongy and kind of an off putting texture. The meatloaf was pretty good - kind of just tastes like the ones you bake at home and slather with cooked ketchup. Service was friendly but painfully slow - like we waited 40 minutes to get our dishes.
