Went with my friend to eat here. Food was good. Service was bad. In the beginning was fine. It was just me and my friend only in the restaurant. Then two groups of people came in and they took care of them and ignored us we had to keep asking for our stuff when we ordered a lot already. We saw them looked at us like they were "checking up on us" when we finish our water and appetizers 30 minutes ago waiting for our refill. We were there at 5 and left around 8. Waiting for our food. They gave out food to the groups of people first. And we have to ask for ours in order for us to get our food out. Like no one wanted to come to us only went to the two big group. First time and it was only for a quick to go order just cause I had a last minute craving for some soup.. from the time that I called to the time that I left, the customer service was truly beyond excellent!!!! The guy who answered the phone to take my order was very nice and patient with me.. then when I got to the restaurant, I had my 8 month old in his car seat and the guy who greeted me at the door went to pull out a chair for me and another for me to set the car seat on. While I was getting ready to pay, the guy told me that he would help me bring the food out since I had my son.. I was mildly disappointed that the online menu was out of date as I was looking forward to trying their Pee Par Tofu dish. The dishes we did get were pretty good, but a little expensive for the portions. We started off with the Xiao Long Bao (probably the best in the DFW area now -- quite juicy and tender) and the Pork Belly Gua Bao (this was good, but we've had better in the DFW area for cheaper and larger portions). For our main dishes we got the San Bei Chicken Clay Pot, Orange Beef and Mushroom Trio Clay Pot -- the only dish we'd order again is the Mushroom Trio. However, the chicken was very tasty and tender and we thought the dish was pretty good. The Orange Beef was not as good as I had hoped it would be. We had friends of ours recommend this place and I'm so glad we tried it. It's small, clean and has very warm inviting feeling. Our waiter was very sweet and gave us hugs as we left. His service was fantastic. We started with the chicken spring rolls and Szechuan dumplings. The dumplings were had made and tasted so good. We also had orange chicken, old style sweet and sour chicken, chicken fried rice and baby bok choy. I was so impressed with all of the food here. This will be where we get Chinese food from now on. I have been to this place a couple of times now and I think its the best chinese in dallas . Infact , before this the chinese restaurants I went to always fell short . I think the ambience , service and food is impeccable . Its a cosy place with the nicest staff . Pretty romantic too ! For food , the dimsums , soup , vegetable fried rice ( with eggs ) , chilli chicken , kung pao chicken are all excellent choices as long as you have a spicy palette which I do . Ofcourse , you can always ask the chef to cut down the spice level. The food is fresh and you can feel that its been made especially for you which is great . Must try place ! read more

We decided to try this place based on Yelp ratings. We noticed that most of the low rated reviews were based on the price and not the quality of the food or service. Mah-Jong's decor is up to date, and the restaurant is clean and quite. We ordered the Traditional Crispy Egg Roll with chicken and the Famous Szechuan Chicken Dumpling to start. The egg rolls were filled with fresh vegetables and diced chicken fried to crispy perfection and served with a delicious, unique sauce that was not cloyingly sweet. The Szechuan Chicken Dumplings are listed as a 'must try' on the menu, so we tried them and we highly recommend. The steamed dumplings are filled with a flavorful chicken filling and served with a slightly spicy garlic vinaigrette and fresh cilantro. For the main entree, my husband ordered the Mah-Jong Orange Beef. Orange Beef is something he almost always orders anytime we eat Chinese food out, so he definitely has a strong opinion on this subject. He said this was some of the best he's ever had. This dish was made with good quality beef that was sliced thin, lightly battered, fried until crispy and tossed with an orange sauce that wasn't overpowered with orange peel and had the right amount of heat from chili peppers. I chose the Chef Recommended Merlot Stir Fried Cube of Beef Tenderloin. Cubes of beef tenderloin cooked to medium rare and stir fried with green and red peppers, baby bok choy, mushrooms, onions and garlic in a delectable merlot sauce. Simply amazing! Our waiter, Jack, was a super nice guy, very friendly and kept our drinks filled. We have no complaints and we'll definitely go back. The dumplings were good but not a good as the authentic dim sum places. These scallion pancakes are really good. Very crispy and flaky. Flavors on point too. Lemongrass shrimp vermicelli. The shrimp is spicy but not the vermicelli. The sauce is good but I don't like Gulf shrimp. They taste funny to me. Braised pork shank. The meat was very tender but didn't taste very traditional. Found my new favorite Chinese restaurant in Plano. The atmosphere is warm, the people are super friendly, and the food is executed at a level on par with Seattle, San Francisco, LA and Toronto. If you've experienced top notch Chinese Cuisine in any of those cities, you understand. First, the Hong King style Won Ton soup was delicate and balance. The Shumai was tender and delicious. The Crispy Duck Breast was tender and did not need the pancakes. It was perfect on its own. The winner of the evening was the Har Gow. The atmosphere is charming with all of the cute little Mah Jong tiles surrounding the walls, the food is delicious and always arrives piping hot! And the waiters are just adorable.
