Our family loves Thai food and we love going to Mai Thai for the Pineapple Curry Fried Rice!

Food is okay. Not the greatest but it's good for a quick meal. It's close to the house so we go every so often

My family and I happened to drive past this restaurant and were so excited to find a Thai place. The food was delicious! I ordered the Yellow Curry and my husband ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice. We were so happy with the food and service! As we were leaving and paid our bill, the waitress handed our two daughters a package of Sour patch Kids candy. It was so unexpected and so kind. The spring rolls were tasty, and I was looking forward to a wonderful dinner. We were the only ones in there, yet our drinks took 15 minutes to be refilled. I ordered the orange chicken. It might've been fresh, but it wasn't what I know to be orange chicken. The broccoli had to be frozen, because it was still at that stage of defrost where it's really wet and cold, when my dish was brought out. My husband wasn't thrilled with his dish either. It might've been an off day for them, because I read the reviews and wanted to try it for a long time. I can now check it off my list. read more

This place was amazing. I'm from Nevada visiting family and was craving Thai tea so my mom took me here. I had the orange chicken and wonton soup and it was AMAZING. and the Thai tea was the best for tea I've had in my entire life. Will DEFINITELY be making another stop here before I go back home!!! read more

After reading all the great reviews I decided to give this place a try. Although it was good, I wouldn't say it was good enough for more than 3 stars. I've had better quality. The service was really good though but again, the food wasn't that overwhelming. read more

I used to give this place a 5 pre covid. Since then we have ordered several times and the quality has continued to decrease. Chewy chicken, stale oil taste, and inconsistent quality. read more

Finding a spot for lunch in this area can get really monotonous. There's all the usual big chain places in the Alliance but not much else. So I was absolutely delighted when I saw a flyer for Mai Thai & Sushi on a bulletin board at work. The food isn't amazing but it definitely surpassed my expectations. The pad thai was good but standard. The panang curry was yummy and the chicken lettuce wraps were good too, although the sauce was a little sweet. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more dishes. read more

Mai Thai @ 201 FM 156 N Haslet, TX I'm always looking for good Thai Food. This was one I missed for too long, and I'm glad I finally came! If you are in downtown Haslet, with the train tracks to your back, city hall to your left and Mr. Jims to your right... This place is tucked away just next to Mr. Jims. It was a restaurant built into an old house. Easily miss-able, I'm sorry I didn't come sooner. --Overview-- I've lived in Sendera Ranch (Haslet) since this place opened (2010), and I half noticed it, but didn't give it a second thought. Which is silly, because I enjoy Thai Food. The parking is on the side and back. Then I met Linda at the Q.T. gas station, we started chatting about the area. She told me this was one of her favorite restaurants. I was like really? That little place? I didn't know it was still open. She told me I HAD to go. I walk up the front path into a seating room with a handful of tables. As I open the door I am wafted with the familiar smells of Thai Curry... I feel at home before I'd taken my first step. I was greeted by a friendly young lady, who was quite knowledgeable about this business and food. She was also VERY well trained in customer service skills "Since this is your first time here, let me tell you about our menu". That's something more people don't think to say. They used to be called Mai Thai Sushi. They stopped serving Sushi (not enough demand), but they still serve amazing Thai Food. Unfortunately for them, the whited out "Sushi" on the sign does even less, from a Marketing perspective, to build brand trust. It also adds to the feeling that they're closed. I have a feeling if they got a Marketing person to come give them a facelift and image re-rebrand (mostly to the building) they would get MUCH more traffic, and the demand for Sushi would be back. It probably wouldn't take much, a new door, clean up the landscaping, new sign. A few visual cues as to where to park and where to enter. Anyway... My wife and I put in an order for our two favorites, threw in a random one, and the MUST HAVE Coconut Mango Rice. I forgot to grab the Thai Iced Tea on my way out with my To-Go order. Ooops. Sorry Honey. When I got it home, we sat and opened everything. Turned on the latest Blacklist, and enjoyed the best Thai I've had in a long time. There was so much Curry Sauce left over, that I mixed some of it in my Tuna and made a Red Curry Tuna Sandwich for lunch the next day. It's nice to know that there is another Thai place in Texas worth going to. I WILL be back. --Cost-- Pad Thai (Chicken, Beef, Pork or Combo) $8.95 Thai rice noodles stir-fried w/ eggs, bean sprouts, onions, flavored with lime and crunchy peanuts. Gaeng Dang (Red Curry) $9.95 Coconut milk with bamboo slices, bell peppers, and basil leaves. Pineapple Curry Fried Rice $8.95 Choice of meat, stir fried w/ onions, carrots and cashews, tomatoes yellow and green onion. Seasoned with Thai yellow curry tossed with pineapple. Coconut Rice Mango $4.95 Total around $37.00 (ish) after tax. That's not an eat every day price, but it's roughly on par with more Thai places, and each entre is a LOT of food. --Kids-- I suppose it depends on your kids. Currently, our kids won't try Thai Food... but I suspect my youngest will (he enjoyed it when he was younger). If you are going to dine in, you may want to check out their menu so see if it's going to meet your kids needs before you go (or get them food before). --Tips to enjoy it better...-- It may look closed when you drive up. They could use a little updating to the façade to make it more inviting. But it's worth parking on the side or in the back and walking in. All entrees come without spice (for the weak of palate) and you can add spice to your liking to any dish. (Level 1-5). We went with a 2 to be safe, and this was just about right for us, it had heat, but not too much. They also do delivery within five miles. So, if you live in Sendera Ranch or Haslet, the PARTY IS ON! --Final Thoughts-- Sometimes you just have to try new places, even if they are a little off the beaten path. We were extremely surprised to find a Thai place in Haslet! Had to give it a try. The place is definitely a hole in the wall style joint. There is a decent parking lot in the back. I almost thought the place was closed because the cars are hidden. Came in and ordered my staple green curry, spicy, and my fiance ordered spicy cashew beef. Orders don't come spicy, so you get to choose your spice level. My curry was wonderful. The right amount of heat and lots of meat and veggies inside. There was so much broth! I had horrible allergies, so the broth did me well. The cashew chixken was great, as well. Normally boy relies on the meat to carry flavors, but said the veggies and sauce were so good he could have gone without the meat. Big compliment from that one! The prices were great, too. We wanted to try the mango sticky rice but apparently they were out. Next time! read more

Mai Thai is pretty much a staple in our house! We love Thai food and his place never disappoints. Our favorite dishes are consistent and delicious every time we order them, unlike a lot of places! And it's one of the few places in the area that actually delivers that isn't pizza! read more

Little hole in the wall place. You would drive right by it and not even glance at it. BAD MISTAKE. I ordered the Thai fried rice with chicken. Absolutely amazing. Huge portion sizes. I had no idea this place existed but I'm glad I found it. It's the closest Thai place to the North Saginaw/Sendera Ranch/Haslet area. However, don't believe the map placement because it shows it right off of Bonds Ranch on 156 but it's actually further north IN "downtown" Haslet. The lady who greeted me was very nice (I believe she was actually the cook as well) and was willing to review the menu if I was unfamiliar with Thai food but I've had my fair share so I was good to go. I ordered the green curry w/chicken and steamed rice to go. It was a good size portion. Probably about a Quart. I went with a 3 on the 1-5 Heat scale and it was perfect. The green coconut curry was very rich and tasty. I'm stuffed. My wife is pretty picky and so she sticks with what she knows, chicken and broccoli. She was pleased with it (though that portion was kind of small). We also ordered some crab rangoons and they were alright but nothing special. They were the usual you'd find at most places. I look forward to trying more of their entrees. Give it a try. It's worth a shot! read more

Just found this quaint little place in Haslet of all places. lol Just kiddin Haslet. We'll this being a 1st time here I did play it safe with the pad thai, but I have to come back an try the drunken noodles, my favorite. I went here for dinner today and got the Lad Na beef. It was very good and tasty. Full of flavor, fresh ingredients, and nicely portioned. The Pad Ke Mow my friend ordered smelled so good it must have been the aromatic basil! I tasted it and it was so delicious that I had to order some to go. I eat a lot of Thai/lao food at home so it's hard for me to find good thai/lao restaurants that meet my expectations. This restaurant is one of the few that definitely exceeded. The service was wonderful and pleasant. There was a nice girl at the front welcoming the customers and greeting everyone. I believe it was the owner I saw out serving and greeting customers as well. She was very nice and checked to make sure we enjoyed our meal. It's nice to see this small town have a nice exotic Thai restaurant like this, and it's ran by genuinely good people. I'm a California native and have very high standards when is comes to asian food. This is by far the best thai food I have had in DFW, although not as good as the thai places in Cali it should hold me over till my next trip home. I went for lunch and ordered a lunch portion of Pad Thai for $7.50 and a side of rice for $1.50. The portions were large for lunch, the pad thai was easily a dinner portion and the side of fried rice was bigg enough to be another meal. The flavors were great and everything tasted fresh. I left with a full stomach, a togo box and a smile. I will be back again! read more

I have nothing bad to say about this place. A small quaint little place with great Thai food. Skip the traffic and the drive into the city, go to this little gem of a place instead. The chicken coconut soup was out-of-this-world. Even at its smallest size the soup comes in a big bowl so maybe consider sharing. I also ordered the Masamman Curry, it was some of the best I've ever had. The Thai iced tea was prefect too. The waitresses were sweet and the service was very good. The hubs and I really enjoyed our date night here. Tip: It is really small inside so if there's a loud talker in the group it could be a little awkward read more

It has probably been two years since the last time I was here. The owner remembered me, the group I was with last time, who I work for, and all kinds of details. That is a great customer interaction. The food is awesome with fresh ingredients and spice to your desires. The drink options are very limited if you don't want the Thai tea. No alcohol so you can't wash the curry down with a Shiner Bock. Great experience and wonderful staff. I will keep coming back when I'm in town - hopefully without waiting another two years. read more

Quaint, quaint little Thai restaurant in Haslet. If your driving down FM 156 don't blink because you might miss this nice restaurant but it is definitely worth the stop. I've tried this place a couple times now and both times I was not disappointed. Tom Kha Koong (coconut soup with shrimp) is rich and creamy with lots of mushroom. Yum Woon Ta Lay ( glass noodle salad with seafood) special item I asked for. Delicious! And of course it wouldn't be complete without papaya Salad. Everything was tasty and cooked to order. Anytime your In Haslet and want some good Thai food give this place a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

Great experience. Ordered delivery over the phone; which is a major plus to be able to have food delivered seeing as though not many places besides pizza, deliver to our neighborhood. The person taking orders was very kind and professional. Our food arrived sooner than expected and was still hot. We will most definitely order from here again. read more
